Ku Li will be Umno for life

Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, the Member of Parliament of Gua Musang who has been in the limelight recently for criticizing the government over the oil royalty issue for the Kelantan state has reiterated his support for Umno saying that he is in the party for life and that he will not jump to another party after much speculation from various quarters. This came into light after his numerous verbal attacks on how Kelantan was denied oil royalties but instead were given ‘compassionate payment’.

He said "If there are people who want my post, they'll have to wait for me to die. Furthermore, my explanation was not made on PAS' platform but 52 non-governmental organisations had organised the public talk to enable me to explain the matter and the provisions of the Petroleum Act 1975. What have I got to do with the party (PAS), that there were people who even went to the extent of asking me to quit (Umno)? They should consider that I was willing to disband Parti Melayu Semangat 46 which I had helmed to rejoin Umno. This matter must be understood clearly because the people became confused following the various allegations made against him. It was definitely not to go against the Umno leadership,"
