Former press secretary mourns the loss of ‘Mr Propaganda’

Puan Sri Salbiah Abdul Hamid placing white roses on the grave of her late husband Tan Sri Mohamed Rahmat, who died this morning and was laid to rest at Bukit Kiara Muslim cemetery this afternoon.

Tan Sri Mohamed Rahmat was the best “Mr Propaganda”, said his former press secretary, Zukri Valenteno Mohd Ali. “As ‘Mr Propaganda’, he worked alone. He was a ‘one-man team’ and was comfortable that way”, he told Bernama when contacted today.

Zukri said when he was the Information Minister twice, from 1978 to 1982 and from 1987 to 1999, Mohamed had boosted the image of the government and party. “I consider him as the Information Minister ‘personified’,” he said.

The former information minister and Umno secretary-general died in his sleep at his residence at Bukit Damansara, here today and was laid to rest at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery after the ‘Asar’ prayer.

Mohamed was supposed to celebrate his 72nd birthday on Monday.

To Zukri, out of the many nicknames given by friends and members of the public, such as Tok Mat, Mat Bulat and so on, the nickname which touched Mohamed the most was “Mat Umno”, which was given him by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“He loved Umno very much. One day, he had once said that ‘this is my second home’, referring to his office on the 38th floor, Umno and BN headquarters.

“To him, Umno is the Malays and the Malays are Umno.” Zukri also considered Mohamed as a good and charismatic boss, “a thinker, a strategist and an executor”.

He said Mohamed had implemented many successful campaigns such as “Setia Bersama Rakyat” (Semarak) and the Mesra campaign which had promoted Dr Mahathir and the BN government. In fact, he had talent in writing several patriotic songs such as “Setia” and “Sejahtera Malaysia”.

“As a cabinet minister, Tok Mat had never insisted on protocol, members of the public could see him without any appointment and he would entertain them, whether in his office, parliament building or when he was enjoying his coffee break at the Equatorial Hotel (his favourite) in Kuala Lumpur,” he said.

Zukri, who is now Head of Corporate Communications, Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, had known Mohamed since 1990, when he was a journalist with Bernama, The Star and The Sun before becoming Mohamed’s press secretary for five years from 1995.

He described Mohamed as someone who was talkative and simple, and usually in the office, he would take ‘Teh-O’ and wrapped ‘nasi lemak’ because ‘nasi lemak’ reminded him of his schooling days when he used to sell cakes and ‘nasi lemak’.

In addition, Zukri said Mohamed liked the song “Rindu Lukisan” which he would sing at private functions. Among Mohamed’s quotes on Umno that Zukri would always remember was “For Umno, I’ve done my job but people hate my guts and in the end, they respect me.”

Zukri had once asked Mohamed’s permission to write a book on him entitled “Yang Setia”, but each time he asked, the reply was “Who wants to read about me”.

Finally, Zukri said he had recently read a book written by Mohamed himself on his experience entitled “Umno: Akhir Sebuah Impian” (Umno: The End Of A Dream).

MCMC resumes cow-head videos investigations

The MCMC (Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission) has resumed their investigations on the videos posted by local news media Mkini with regards to the cow-head protests after a 3 months break. The MCMC has interviewed Shufiyan Shukur and Jason Yong, staff of Mkini at its headquarters yesterday. Mkini had earlier uploaded 2 videos which were deemed by MCMC to be seditious and had ordered the portal to remove them, but Mkini had refused. Yong said that he was asked by the MCMC if the videos were uploaded through Mkini’s IP address while Shufiyan was questioned if it was his decisions to upload the videos through Mkini’s servers. He said "They kept asking me who made the decision to upload both the videos,"

Ministry will help broadcasting dir-gen defend against report lodged by Penang State Govt

Datuk Ibrahim Yahya, the director-general of Broadcasting of the Ministry of Information Communication and Culture has come under fire for his recent blogpost where he wrote an entry entitled ‘Somebody Wants to Jail Me’. Ng Wei Aik, the political secretary of Lim Guan Eng, the Chief minister of Penang has since lodged a report against Ibrahim.

Ng said "In his blog, Ibrahim claimed that an employee of the chief minister's office had threatened him but an investigation found that nobody in the chief minister's office knew him," said Ng when filing his report. Ibrahim should identify the person said to be an employee of the chief minister's office. If the employee exists, then the chief minister will take action but if it is found to be false, then Ibrahim should resign from his post," For that, the minister of Information Communication and Culture, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim has come to Ibrahim’s defence saying that he will not be facing legal action alone and the ministry will use its experience and what they have to defend Ibrahim or anyone associated with the broadcasting division. Dr Rais said "We will not leave him to fend for himself. Based on the system of government, when a minister, secretary-general, director-general or a member of the administration was sued in his official capacity, the government would give appropriate advice and guidance, especially in the legal aspect. However, if the officers were sued for offences outside of their official capacity, the ministry would not be responsible. For example, if an individual is sued for khalwat (close proximity), we cannot interfere,"

This is blutant abuse of people's money! Rais will spend gov coffer to protect a private and personal issue! What is going on with UMNO! Please STOP spending our money!

Why UMNO want to defend him if he made wild accusation? What are you made of UMNO? Is it because he is a malay, or UMNO member or you have vested interest in him. Let the police arrest him, get his statement like others too. UMNO did not defend Tiong King sing when he was being sued by OTK. This is the type of policy UMNO have and it did not change like what the PM wish for.

Rosmah and Dr Mahathir win praise from British politician

Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of the Prime Minister, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan have been singled out by a British politician for their exemplary efforts to help push for the Viva Palestina humanitarian aid convoy to reach its destination in the Gaza Strip of Palestine.

George Galloway, a UK politician who was leading the convoy, had told the Al Jazeera TV network that the convoy, carrying essentials and medical aid for Palestinians trapped by an Israeli blockade, must be allowed to proceed.

In a report filed on Dec 28, entitled “Fighting to Break the Gaza Siege”, the network had quoted Galloway as saying that medicines brought by the convoy “are in a race against time of their expiry date and are getting spoiled under the desert sun, whilst people in Gaza die for the want of them.” “The government of Turkey and the respected Premier (Recep Tayyip) Erdogan are trying their best, as is the former prime minister of Malaysia, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, as well as the wife of the current prime minister in Kuala Lumpur,” he was quoted as saying in the report.

Calloway also said that he had written to Queen Rania of Jordan asking her to contact Madame Susan Mubarak, first lady of Egypt and the head of Egyptian Red Crescent.

He said there were more than 200 trucks and 500 people from 17 different countries who gave up their Christmas holidays to try and help one and a half million Arabs and Muslims in Gaza.

“We are four hours away, across the Red Sea from approaching Rafah but an Arab government will not allow us.

“The question is: What are 300 million Arabs going to do about this continued slow, quiet massacre of their brothers behind the wire?”

Calloway said the 500 members of the Viva Palestina Convoy to Gaza spent Christmas in a car park in Aqaba after Egypt refused to help them.

He said previously, so many Turks, Arabs and British were together in this town and they were fighting the first World War against each other.

However, he said, now they were fighting to break through the siege on the Palestinian people in Gaza.

“There will be enough time afterwards to review everyone's role in the sorry Christmas story but for now I am appealing to anyone and everyone to help us reach Gaza,” he said

But when will she push for justice for Altantuya? Will Rosmah and Dr. M. push for justice for Teoh Beng Hock and Kugan?

When our leader are praised we malaysian must be informed well but when condemed the news must not be published by order of the goons.

Getting praised is one thing. The actual thing is what matters. The rakyat know the actual thing. So all such praises mean nothing.

Lawyer Rosli Dahlan was fixed so that a Criminal Can Be Released

Rosli Dahlan’s trial will resume on January 5 through to January 7, 2010 at Special Criminal Sessions Court No:10. Already MACC Officer Azmi Ismail had testified that Rosli was never considered a suspect in any investigation by the MACC. The Prosecution’s star witness, DPP Anthony Kevin Morais, who is also MACC Deputy Director of Legal and Prosecution, being the person who had issued to Rosli the s. 32 Notice, further confirmed that not only was Rosli not a suspect, but Rosli’s role was just to help MACC as a witness in the investigation on Dato’ Ramli.

So Rosli is now a witness. Not the way the mainstream media had previously quoted MACC sources as saying that Rosli is wanted for hiding Dato’ Ramli’s alleged RM 27 million assets. The mainstream media and the MACC have been very quiet about this story that they previously publicised widely.

DPP Zulqarnain Hassan even emphasised several times in his submission before Judge Abu Bakar Katar that Rosli’s allegations that he was “Fix-Up is not relevant because neither Rosli nor Dato’ Ramli was charged for corruption. They were charged for failing to comply with the terms of the s.32 Notice”. So now you have it, this is not a corruption case after all.

In my previous posting, I narrated that DPP Kevin Morais was very evasive when cross-examined by Rosli’s counsel, Dato’ K Kumaraendran. Kevin appeared to come to court unprepared without the documents that were critical to the case. He claimed not to be aware or remember facts that he had testified about just the day before in the trial of Dato’ Ramli. To top it all, the trial was taken off on the third day to allow Kevin Morais to take time off to England to celebrate the Christmas holidays. That is the most absurd reason I have ever heard of.

Consider this – the case was so urgent that the MACC must arrest and charge Rosli on the eve of Hari Raya Aidilfitri of 2007, and when Rosli was to have his day in Court in 2009, Kevin needs time off to go on holiday! Such cavalier attitude by these officers of the august A-G Chambers. Charge a person and then let him rot!!!

The public also does not need to be reminded of the MACC’s very bad track record of how it treats witnesses. Teoh Beng Hock was found dead, which according to the Dr Pornthip, the Thai pathologist, Teoh was murdered. Tan Boon Wah was detained for long hours until early morning whereas under Rule 20 Lock up Rules 1953, prisoners and suspects are to be rested between 6.30 pm to 6.30 am. And what was all that for? A mere allegation of abuse of wakil rakyat’s allocation for RM 2,400!

In the case of Lawyer Rosli Dahlan, his office was stormed, he was shouted at in front of his staff, then assaulted and handcuffed until his wrist bled only to be publicly paraded for maximum humiliation the next day. Violations of fundamental rights cannot be more evident than in these three examples.

Yet today, RPK’s post made a startling revelation of an SD by the ADC of IGP Musa Hassan that Rosli was fixed to frighten off anyone who dare to go against IGP Musa Hasan and the A-G Gani Patail. Why? So that a criminal can be released! Although, the SD did not mention by Rosli name, it is unmistakeable that paragraph 14 of that SD referred to Rosli. That paragraph reads:

14. A sense of fear also gripped many within PDRM and outside when not long after that, in October 2007 during Ramadan, the lawyer who assisted CCD in the Goh Cheng Poh @ Tongku matter (after the A-G Chambers declined to prepare affidavits for these CCD), was himself arrested in a most humiliating manner and charged in court one day before Aidilfitri.”

Read on what RPK revealed in the posting below:

The IGP wants the British police to detain me and to send me back to Malaysia. He believes I am in London and am living in a luxury flat in Bayswater. But why does he worry so much about me when I am sure he has other bigger problems on his hands? Well, I suppose one of the many, many reasons is this Statutory Declaration about his dirty dealings, which I revealed earlier.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

STATUTORY DECLARATION

I, XXXXXXXX Police I/C No: XXXXX, a Malaysian citizen of full age and residing at XXXXX Kuala Lumpur, do hereby sincerely and truly affirm and say as follows:-

I joined Polis DiRaja Malaysia since XXXXX and am currently serving as XXXX am the aide de camp (ADC) of the Inspector of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan (IGP Musa) XXXXXX

2. During the period that I XXXXX as ADC to IGP Musa, I observed many things that caused me to lose confidence in the leadership of IGP Musa. Many of his actions undermined the integrity and credibility of PDRM as the principal law enforcement agency entrusted with the maintenance of law and order of the country.

3. On many occasions, I observed that the public persona displayed by IGP Musa is totally opposite to his private conduct and actions which are unknown to the public and the Government. IGP Musa’s actions constitute a betrayal of his oath of office as the country’s No. 1 Policeman which in Malay would be considered as “Pengkhianat.”

4. I became disillusioned when Dato’ Christopher Wan, then Director CID, revealed to me that IGP Musa had directed a covert blog to be set up to make allegations of corruption against Dato’ Johari Baharom, then the Deputy Minister of Home Security. Dato’ Johari Baharom became the subject of an ACA investigation which damaged Dato’ Johari’s credibility.

5. I am also aware of various statutory declarations made by several policemen, police informants and subjects of police actions showing linkages between IGP Musa and the underworld, specifically concerning the RR detainee, Goh Cheng Poh @ Tongku, and one shadowy figure, BK Tan.

6. Based on my personal knowledge and involvement as the ADC to the IGP, I can confirm that the statements made by these deponents concerning IGP Musa are true and do correctly reflect the events as described by them about IGP Musa.

7. In specific reference to the events narrated in the SDs of ASP Mior Fahim Bin Ahmad (G/13237) and ASP Hong Kin Hock (G/10990) about the manipulations of promotions, ranks and postings in the hierarchy of the PDRM involving BK Tan, these are indeed true. I have personal knowledge and involvement in that I was asked, as ADC, to compile and co-ordinate such posting orders based on the drafts and proposals made by BK Tan. A copy of this draft which was subsequently implemented as police posting orders is marked herewith as Attachment “A”.

8. Officers were transferred to achieve certain objectives. In some cases, there were entrapments that made certain officers appear guilty of wrongdoings. In others, allegations were made against certain officers that resulted in them being given either 24 hour transfer orders or short notice transfers. This gave the impression that IGP Musa was eradicating corruption and abuses within PDRM, whereas in most cases that was furthest from the truth.

9. The credibility of these officers would be demolished such that whatever information they have gathered about IGP Musa would be discredited. These officers would suffer hardships being transferred away from their family and home base. They will also get bypassed in promotions and will suffer disciplinary actions without the proper process. Consequently, less able officers climbed the ranks and the victimized officers were used as warnings against others of similar consequences. This process of “mencantas” explains the apparent lack of ability by PDRM to tackle crime, the lack of motivation and low morale within PDRM that saw crime escalating at an alarming rate during the tenure of IGP Musa.

10. I tried to inform the higher echelons in PDRM about this matter in the hope that these superior officers could do something about the matters I have witnessed. Among those whom I had spoken to were:

a) Tan Sri Najib, former DIGP;

b) Dato’ Amir Sulaiman, Ex-Director of Admin;

c) Dato’ Kamaruddin Ali, Director of Admin;

d) Dato’ Othman Salleh, Chief of Police Negri Sembilan;

e) Dato’ Khalid, Chief of Police Selangor;

f) SAC II Lau Hong Soon.

11. When nothing was done about my complaints, I also raised this with some people outside PDRM namely:

a) former IGP Tun Haniff Omar;

b) Dato Johari Baharom, former Deputy Home Minister;

c) Dato’ Radzi Sheikh Ahmad;

d) Tuan Che Md Ismail of the Police Force Commission and another member of the Commission.

12. I also informed Dato’ Ramli Yusuff, the former Director CCD, whom I knew had been IGP Musa’s superior for 6 years and who, at that time was investigating some money lending syndicate linked to IGP Musa. I believe Dato’ Ramli would have reported this information to the Deputy Home Minister within the scope of his investigations on the money lending syndicate.

13. However, nothing much could be done when IGP Musa was given an extension of service of 2 years in July 2007 by the previous Prime Minister who was also the Home Security Minister. This served as a powerful endorsement that the Government is fully behind IGP Musa.

14. A sense of fear also gripped many within PDRM and outside when not long after that, in October 2007 during Ramadan, the lawyer who assisted CCD in the Goh Cheng Poh @ Tongku matter (after the A-G Chambers declined to prepare affidavits for these CCD), was himself arrested in a most humiliating manner and charged in court one day before Aidilfitri.

15. The message was clear that IGP Musa had the support of the ACA, the Attorney-General and the Prime Minister in all his actions. This fear, amongst officers in PDRM, translated into a need for self preservation after six rank and file policemen and Dato’ Ramli were charged for various offences. Not long after that, the A-G ordered the release of the said Goh Cheng Poh @ Tongku. Many in PDRM became demoralized that a criminal is released by resort to legalities whereas our own fellow brothers were charged.

16. It is not my intention to be disloyal to IGP Musa, but I feel guilty if I am contributory to this cancer spreading within PDRM. I am a career police officer and I have pledged to serve and defend PDRM and the country.

17. I am not unaware that I may be exposed to dangers by swearing this SD, but all that I have stated above are the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I hope that what befell the 6 policemen, including Dato’ Ramli Yusuff, who are all facing prosecution, will not happen to me. Many of these officers who were charged ended up becoming taxi drivers, security guards etc which caused great hardships to their families.

18. Even if they are acquitted by the courts, as have recently happened to C/Insp Nordin, Cpl Wong and Dato’ Ramli, sufficient damage are already done to their careers and families. There is the added fear that the A-G Chambers will also appeal against the acquittals and drag these matters further until they are totally forgotten.

19. I hope that I will be given protection by the Minister and the Government for making this disclosure as it is made with the hope to improve PDRM in expectation of a new leadership era under DIGP Tan Sri Ismail Omar and that there should be an end to the persecution of officers who dare to do the right thing.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the provision of the Statutory Declaration Act, 1960.

Will justice be served?
The facts of the case made my stomache churned!!
Yet we know of a certain Appeals court judge[now] who can declare all evidence for the defendant irreelevant.
I can but pray that Rosli will get his day in a real court of justice and be adequately compensated for his trauma!!

No basis to set up commission to investigate Dr M - Najib

The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has dismissed the claims by various quarters for the government to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry to investigate former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for allegedly wasting some RM100billion in grandiose projects during his 22 years in power as outlined by Barry Wain in his book ‘Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Times’.

Public to get full explanation on missing jet engines next mont

Datuk Ahmad Raslan, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said that the public can expect a full explanation on the issue of the 2 missing F-5E fighter jet engines belonging to the RMAF (Royal Malaysian Air Force) and this will be done next month.

He said that “The 'Program Juara Rakyat' (People's Champion Programme) to be launched by Prime Minister Najib Razak would also explain the absence of many Barisan Nasional MPs when the 2010 Budget was passed on Dec 14. We will reply to criticisms from the opposition who had used the missing jet engines and other issues to confuse the people. The programme is also in line with the 1Malaysia concept,"

The Missing F-5E Fighter Jet Engine Saga -explain to the public ?

More of that. Najis Baba and his forty thieves are brilliant in concocting fairy tales which will only convince and entertain the children who are getting into Primary One come 2010.Perhaps these children will clap and cheer - and maybe declared him the Best PENIPULARA this country has ever had.

Public to get FOOL explanation on missing jet engines next montH

I CHALLENGED BN WHETHER THEY CAN BRING BACK THAT MISSING JETS ENGINE OR RECOVER THE FULL AMOUNT FROM THE CULPRIT(S) IF YOU CAN GET THE CULPRIT. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO BN NOW. ALOTS OF BAD THINGS HAPPENING DURING NAJIB TIME OR CONNECTED TO NAJIB, CAN YOU EXPLAIN THAT YOURSELF NAJIB. NO NEED TO EXPLAIN WHAT IS THE MEANING OF 1MALAYSIA BUT EXPLAINS WHAT IS THE WRONG DOING OF THE BN TO THE RAKYAT.

Latif hits out at those ‘sponsoring’ RPK in London, calling authorities to intensify investigations

Datuk Abdul Latif Ahmad, a member of the Umno Supreme Council has shed more light into the claims on how Raja Petra Kamaruddin, the editor of Malaysia Today or fondly known as RPK can survive in London’s posh area in Trinity Courts even while he is a bankrupt. He said that “The person or organisation sponsoring Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamarud¬din’s stay in London is ‘somebody that he constantly supports in his articles’”, This is because, according to Latif, RPK is ‘special’ to the group sponsoring him. He added that “How can a bankrupt man afford to stay in a luxury apartment and use a foreign passport? He is obviously financed by someone and I am wondering if other bloggers are being sponsored as well. Raja Petra’s escape from Malaysia is like a Hollywood spy movie, in which passports were given to secret agents in order for them to hide out in other countries. We can tell who Raja Petra supports by reading his blog. It is somebody he is aligned to or perhaps he is being used by this person or organisation,”

Latif is also calling on the police and the Immigration Department to intensify their investigations and expose who the sponsor is. he said “Other bloggers could be part of a syndicate to tarnish the country’s good name but that only Raja Petra was special enough to have been sponsored on an overseas trip. Although there was freedom of speech in the country, bloggers should not “force” people to accept their views. When others oppose their views, the bloggers accuse them of not being democratic. There must be a balance,”

S’wak CM slams those ‘planting’ anti-govt sentiments

Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, the Chief Minister of Sarawak has hit out at those responsible for ‘planting’ anti-government sentiments among the people. He said this in his speech at the General Assembly of the SPDP (Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party) which was read out by Tan Sri Alfred Jabu, his deputy. In his speech he said "We are in politics to champion our struggle and not to sideline the main objective of helping the people. Of late, a group that is hungry for power, has emerged and has been spreading anti-government sentiments. If they want to champion the cause of the people, they must first learn to serve the people and the country before going into a political battle,"

Obviously refereeing to the opposition politicians, Taib Mahmud added that “Opposition politicians were making all sorts of empty promises to please the people and voters, including assuring them that they would be able to get more money out of development from their native land. For the people with the realization, it will be better for them to support BN rather than listening to loud-mouthed opposition politicians who do not have any evidence of their ability to help the people. The state would do its utmost best in providing efficient services to the people in line with the Prime Minister's 1Malaysia concept of ‘People First, Performance Now’. We appreciate the fact that the people want to see results. However, they must also be guided to realize that the alternatives to BN are not those from the opposition, otherwise they will make the same mistakes as those who voted for the opposition in some states during the last general election,"

No Deputy tourism minister post for Khairy as PM confirms replacement to come from Sarawak

After the resignation of Datuk Seri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib from the deputy minister of tourism post, many quarters have since started speculating as to who will fill the post. Sulaiman resigned from his post citing personal reasons last month and the resignation has since been accepted. He is the son of the Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud. Among those who were ‘speculated’ include Khairy Jamaluddin who despite being the Youth Chief at Umno still does not hold any position in the cabinet. Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the Prime Minister however has confirmed that he will be announcing who will be taking over the post and promised that the candidate will be a Sarawakian. He said "Yes, from Sarawak. We already have the name but cannot be announced yet,"

Khairy? No Way!

I wonder whether Khairy is behind Barry Wain's book???

If so then khairy is an upstart trouble maker for the Government.

This were not a surprised. For the early beginning the peoples had already knew it because Sarawak were the hand of God for these B-ends. KJ were only a very small kACANG PUTIH. Not important at all.

MACC says PI Bala main witness in Altantuya mystery

MACC insists Bala write in formally before they investigate. — Reuters pic

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today reiterated that P. Balasubramaniam must make a formal statement before any investigation can proceed on the private investigator’s allegations surrounding the murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu.

The missing private investigator had sent an email of his allegations to the MACC after making public claims that linked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his family to events after the 2006 murder, including being paid off to retract a sworn statement, but the anti-graft agency has yet to take action.

“We want Bala to come forward to give his statement. He is our main witness,” said MACC director of investigations, Datuk Mohd Shukri Abdull, in a short text message to The Malaysian Insider.

Mohd Shukri’s response was to claims by Bala’s lawyer, Americk Sidhu, that the MACC wanted the missing private investigator to formally write about his claims, despite a series of video interviews available at the Malaysia-Today news portal and YouTube.

He explained that they wanted to question the former special branch officer first before they question others implicated by him.

“His statement is very important before we proceed in questioning other persons,” said Mohd Shukri, who did not respond when asked if this also meant there would be no investigations if Bala did not come forward.

In the series of video interviews, Bala made sensational allegations that Najib knew Altantuya, and that his architect brother Nazim together with a businessman linked to the prime minister’s wife made him retract a statutory declaration on the case.

Bala identified the carpet businessman as Deepak Jaikishan, whom he claims is a close associate of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

Two elite policemen are appealing death sentences for the murder of the Mongolian model, whose death in 2006 is still shrouded in mystery. A third accused, political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda, a close friend of the prime minister, was acquitted.

Najib has denied ever knowing Altantuya but her murder continues to provide ammunition used by the opposition against him.

Gold dealer claimed he was robbed jewelries worth RM900,000 in Miri

A middle-aged gold dealer claimed that he was attacked and robbed RM900,000 jewelries by a group of armed robbers on the eve of Christmas while he was on the way from Bintulu to Miri. The man claimed that the robbery occurred along Miri-Bintulu sectio or more commonly known as 'Highway of Fear'.

Subsequently after the robbery, the gold dealer lodged a police report in Miri central police station. According to the victim, he claimed that the group of armed robbers tailed his taxi before hijacking it along the highway somewhere near Batu Niah tourist town. He said the robbers smashed the windows of the cab when both him and the driver refused to open the doors.

The robbers successfully robbed his suitcase and sped away. According to source, the dealer was supposed to deliver the goods to buyers in Miri and Bintulu. The man, whose headquarters is in Selangor claimed that he has arrived in Miri few days earlier.

Meanwhile, Miri OCPD Asst Comm Jamaluddin Ibrahim said the police station have received report from the gold dealer. Authorities are trying to find out what makes the dealer traveled without a companion while carrying valuable jewelries. In addition to that, police are also trying to find out why the man failed to inform police prior to his trip, where and how he obtained such products.

So far, this is the second armed robbery case occurred in northern Sarawak. Previously, another gold dealer from Kuala Lumpur has also claimed that he was robbed RM800,000 of gold bars in Miri.

Woman claimed her private parts was fondled by doctor

A factory worker claimed that her private parts was fondled by a doctor while seeking treatment in a clinic at Bukit Tambun, Nibong Tebal recently. During the 9 pm incident, the 37-year-old factory worker said she was seeking treatment for her stomach pains.

The woman first told her brother about the incident before confronting the doctor. However, the doctor clarified that it was standard procedure to examine whether she has stomach cancer. The woman has lodged a police report at Bukit Tambun police station.

Group calls for PAS Selangor to leave Pakatan Rakyat Selangor

Some quarters in Selangor, who formed a group allegedly claiming to be supporters of PAS from the state have called on the party to withdraw from the Pakatan Rakyat pact of the state. This according to them is because they are disappointed with the state government's effort of championing Islam and the Malays in Selangor.

According to Wan Hilman Abdul Rahim, the leader of the group and a member of the PAS Gombak division, “The group felt that the other partners of the pact -- Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and the DAP -- were neglecting PAS in the decision-making process though the party was very much in the Selangor government administration. We feel that PAS is being deceived and neglected in the decision-making process ... we are not happy with the way the Selangor government takes care of the people, especially the Malays, and Islamic interests. As such, we want PAS to review its position in the Pakatan Rakyat pact in Selangor,"

Sani Express won't be suspended

The tragic accident involving the double decker bus that killed 10 passengers and injuring 3 others will not be ground for suspension of the bus operator, Sani Express. This was confirmed by Datin Naimah Ramli, the director of the CVLB (The Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board) who said that the operator have been reminded to take safety measures.

She said "It's probably difficult to ask the company to suspend operations because of the holiday season as passengers had already bought their bus tickets. However, I have already spoken to the owner of the company and directed that he improved the safety level of its bus passengers. The fatal accident involving the express bus would be discussed at the committee meeting on fatal accidents involving the various technical agencies. The express bus company concerned will also be asked to submit their report (on the fatal accident today),"

Having two drivers on the bus is not the solution! Why? How fresh and alert is a man after sitting in the bus after many hours? HE IS TIRED! Have checks on the timetables of the drivers and you will find out, he is working very long hours! How many days of did he have in the past month? Most properly non! Thats the reason for accidents with drivers - bus, lorry or car

or....

Why no drastic actions on the company since their failure to vet their driver led to this mishap, but i doubt there's something fishy here.. pls can anyone find out who's the real owner of this company!! maybe a UMNO goon behind it since its only 3 months old

Leaders should 'reconnect' with Indian masses as they have brought votes to BN all this while - Samy

Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu, the president of MIC has called on the party leaders to 'reconnect' with the Indian masses because they have been the ones bringing in the votes for the BN (Barisan Nasinaol) since 1946, the year it was established. He said that in the March 2008 General Elections, the leaders had taken for granted the masses who have, over the years been supportive of the BN which caused many to suffer defeats to the opposition. He said "Our task has been to win them back.

This has been our priority. We have made a lot of progress over the last 18 months or so, and we must keep moving and not look back. The Indian community has placed their hope on us to deliver and we must work hard to regain their trust. I have noticed that there is now a political reawakening among many party (MIC) leaders. They feel the need to reshape their mind and responsibilities to better serve the community,"

RPK might have left with foreign passport – Utusan Malaysia

According to a report published by a local Malay daily, they have grounds to believe that controversial editor of MalaysiaToday, Raja Petra Kamaruddin or RPK could have left the country using a foreign passport from a neighbouring country to make his way to England where he is believed to be residing in Trinity Courts in London. The report said “The circumstances remained a 'mystery' and that the Immigration Department was puzzled. The report said the department still considered Raja Petra to be in Malaysia as there was no record of him leaving the country.”

According to the director-general of Immigratino Abdul Rahman Othman “Checks had been conducted at all land and air exit points. I can only confirm that there is no record of Raja Petra passing through our immigration checkpoint,”

If dead jet engines can fly by itself to argentina, RPK is more cunning as he is a living human who can think wisely. altuntuya's friends arrived in malaysia without any records but their passport stamp otherwise. This is immigration department of 1Malaysia boleh

For this matter, I would also like to use these two words ' could have & is believe'.

YABhg RPK, 'could have' left......in our Scorpene Submarine, and 'is believe' to be residing in White House, US.....courtesy of NAJIS........but I dont know, whether NAJIS 'subbed' back with our Scorpene 'marine' or not.

He, Najis, 'could have' stolen the Scorpene engine, and 'is believe' to be stranded somewhere........

The real issue is, he seems to have some legal validity in the country he is residing in now. That country is most definately granting him some form of residence. If it is the UK which is allowing this, then it is a sharp slap in the face for the Malaysian Government.

Extradition procedures in the UK are only allowed if the Malaysian authorities can provide proof of some serious criminal behavior by RPK. This does not include just merely opposing the Malaysian Government. This is just not good enough.

If he really is in the UK, The UK government has allowed his residence, studying the facts as it is. If so he has gained political asylum status.

It will be quite difficult to get him back!

I am sure the Malaysian authorities know this very well. So why all this wayang here?????

Home Ministry still studying contents of book by Barry Wain as it is 'normal procedure'

According to the Home Ministry, they are currently studying the contents of 'Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Times', written by Barry Wain. The book drew nationwide interest after DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang revealed that the book contained some very 'interesting' facts which includes how Dr Mahathir successfully developed the country during his 22 years as the prime minister. It also includes how he 'wasted' some RM100billion on grandiose projects during that tenure as well.

This then prompted many quarters to call for the book to be released to the public but the Home Ministry has stated that they ware still studying the book before a decision is made as it is 'normal procedures' to do so. “This was to ensure the book would not affect the prevailing peace and stability in the country” and that they have up to 60 days to do so.

KDN have every right to vet the book for the moment. But in this IT savy world we live in, the book can be easily be converted into an e-book and sold in the net.

KDN has to devise some form of stopping this book in cyber space!

I do believe I am right. This internet thing is really becoming a menace isn't it?????

I think it is best to ban the internet!

They should also confiscate all computers, laptops etc.

Owing a modem of any sort should be made a criminal offense.

Without the internet, the share market will collapse, banks will be in ruins. Forget the predictions for 2012, Malaysia will self destruct way before that date!

Anything can happen in Bolehland!
