1Malaysia logos banned in Selangor billboards

The Pakatan Rakyat state government of Selangor has issued a ban on using 1Malaysia logos in billboard advertisements in the state. According to Ronnie Liu, the Chairman of the Selangor’s Housing and Local Government Committee, the 1Malaysia is a political one and hence it contravene local by-laws as political logos cannot be used in billboards.

He said “You don’t see any billboard in Selangor carrying the PKR, PAS or DAP logo. Local government by-laws in Selangor clearly state that political symbols cannot be used on billboard advertisements. The 1Malaysia advertisements were a political message of the Barisan Nasional. It is clear that Barisan is pushing hard for the 1Malaysia concept and to send out its message to the people. It was only at certain times, such as a general election, that such advertisements would be allowed. Not on normal days. There are no DAP, PAS or PKR advertisements on the streets. It should be the same for Barisan. The state government sent out circulars to all local and district councils in Selangor recently to reiterate the prohibition because certain quarters had wanted to include the 1Malaysia logo in their billboard advertisements. There was enthusiasm to add the logo in advertisements by certain quarters. So we had to remind the councils to be firm in prohibiting it,”

Pakatan tried to ‘force’ speaker to postpone Anwar’s suspension – Nazri

Datuk Seri Nazri Abd Aziz, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department has accused the opposition front PR (Pakatan Rakyat) for trying to force Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, the Dewan Rakyat speaker to postpone the motion to suspend its leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Karpal Singh, Azmin Ali and R Sivarasa following their criticism on the Apco-Israel issue. Speaking at a live interview in RTM1, he said that the commotion raked up by the opposition was their way of trying to pressure Pandikar Amin to do so.

Nazri said that “They knew it was the last day of the session and if the motion was postponed, they would not be suspended. They say it was a conspiracy between the speaker and me. It was they who conspired to stall my motion (of suspension), which was already in the Order Paper for the day… It was the opposition who denied Anwar (a chance to) defend himself. He asked for his lawyer to be present, and when this was allowed, he wanted the lawyer to be granted the right to cross-examine. He tries to attack on procedural matters, just like in his (sodomy) trial. This is not a court. The committee's role is to investigate and then the sentence will be meted out by the House. If he wanted to defend himself then he should have done so in the debate… I had informed the opposition to prepare five people to debate the motion, and had even cleared the day solely for this."

On Anwar’s claim that he was not given a chance to defend himself, Nazri said that “Anwar had been given a week to explain himself in March in relation to his allegations about Apco Worldwide, but had failed to do so. I have brought the motion to suspend parliamentarians against others before - (opposition MPs) Karpal, Lim Kit Siang, Gobind Singh Deo and Fong Po Kuan have all gotten it from me, but all of them accepted it and there was no such hue and cry. Why the special treatment for Anwar? Is it because he is god-sent like his wife claims?... They were scared to debate because they knew I was right."

PKR claims APCO pressured over One Israel

PKR has suggested the Najib administration pressured its public relations consultancy APCO Worldwide to deny its involvement in Ehud Barak’s One Israel campaign.

The opposition party also questioned the validity of Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz’s “proof” of two documents containing denials from APCO and an American political consultant over the consultancy’s involvement in the One Israel campaign.

The de facto law minister yesterday showed evidence which he said proved Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was lying when he accused APCO Worldwide of being behind both the 1 Malaysia and One Israel campaigns.

The first was a letter from APCO that had formed the basis for the opposition de facto leader’s suspension from Parliament.

The second was a notarised sworn statement by Robert Shrum, the political consultant who helped create the One Israel coalition for Barak’s 1999 election campaign.

Both letters denied that APCO had anything to do with One Israel.

“Is it not impossible for the government to get APCO, which has been paid RM77 million, to come out with denials of being involved in the One Israel campaign? And why the late response?

‘‘Anwar has brought up the issue of APCO-One Israel way back in March. It’s been eight months. Eight months is a long time which could have been used to answer Anwar’s claims.

“If the matter of refuting the Najib administration’s links with One Israel is so urgent, why wait until only December to get Mr Robert Shrum’s letter?” said PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution (picture).

APCO’s letter, dated August 19, stated that the public relations consultancy was hired by the Najib administration to “provide communications support” only and had nothing to do with either campaign.

It explained that APCO had only worked for the Israeli government twice before, once to help set up a two-day trade conference in Washington, DC in 1987, and again in 1992 when it carried out public relations work to strengthen trade between the US and Israel.

“APCO’s work for the government of Israel was among the company’s smallest, and briefest, governmental engagements, involving just two activities, each of which took place many years ago,” the letter by APCO Europe, Middle East and Africa chief executive Brad Staples said.

Staples also said APCO’s International Advisory Council (IAC) was formed to seek advice from former senior government officials, business leaders and non-governmental organisations the world over and had no control over the company.

He stressed that the three former Israeli government officials on the IAC — out of a total of more than 50 members from 15 countries — had not done any work for Malaysia and had nothing to do with APCO’s Malaysian contract.

Staples’ letter further stated that APCO’s interest in “independent” security company ASERO was purely as an investor.

Shrum’s single-page statement, which Nazri received last week, similarly denied that APCO had anything to do with his brainchild campaign.

Nazri had dared Anwar to refute the two documents presented and to show his (Anwar’s) evidence, which the PKR leader has been flogging on the stump since he was given the boot last Sunday.

He also claimed that Anwar had lied about not being given a chance to defend himself in front of Parliament’s Rights and Privileges Committee.

In response, Saifuddin said that Nazri should have presented the “fresh” evidence during the last Parliament session, instead of distributing it via the media.

“Nazri’s challenge to Anwar is academic now, I don’t see the point. Anwar has already been suspended from Parliament. I challenge Nazri, instead of challenging Anwar to produce the documents in Parliament,” Saifuddin told The Malaysian Insider last night.

The Machang MP also rubbished the law minister’s claims about Anwar being given an opportunity to defend himself, insisting that Anwar was denied his rights to do so.

“True, Anwar was allowed to enter his defence, but that was only at the beginning, before Nazri put forward the motion to suspend Anwar.

“What needs to be stressed is that he was never given a chance to defend himself in front of Parliament’s Rights and Privileges Committee,” said the PKR secretary-general.

“If Nazri was serious about this, he should have presented his proof in front of the committee, and let Anwar present his proof too. But that did not happen, did it? Anwar has proof, trust me. He has been wanting to show it since day one,” added Saifuddin.

Anwar was suspended from Parliament for six months on December 16 for claiming that APCO, hired by the Najib administration, had been behind both the 1 Malaysia and One Israel concepts.

Karpal challenges Zaid to sue him

The national chairman of DAP, Karpal Singh has dared former deputy president hopeful of PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat), Datuk Zaid Ibrahim to sue him following the remarks he made at the recent Pakatan Rakyat Convention. Zaid who is the newly appointed president of KITA (Parti Kesejahteraan Insan Tanah Air) had threatened to sue Karpal for calling him ‘celaka’ and for being part of the parties responsible in causing the fall of Tun Salleh Abbas as the Lord President in 1988.

He said “Zaid is at liberty to sue me. However, he must be prepared to face the consequences of placing himself in the witness box. Zaid Ibrahim should be well aware, as a lawyer, in defamation proceedings one contends that his reputation has been lowered in public esteem. To succeed, one must prove, as a prerequisite, that he had a subsisting good reputation. That is the risk Zaid Ibrahim must be prepared to take. So we will see if he will sue me for calling him a snake, and I will definitely sue him for the lies he uttered yesterday. Thank God, I joined Pakatan... only by being with them does one know their true colours,”

The people will love to see whether this man Zaid Ibrahim would sue Karpal. Surely all the dirt and dust will be exposed. This is what we like to know who is the real culprit. We all know Karpal has been a fighter, otherwise why give him the title "The tiger of Jelution". Zaid as we know was from Umno, then PKR and now KITA. Let's wait and see the court drama should Zaid proceed to carry out his threat.

Utusan hits back at Guan Eng

Utusan Malaysia, the newspaper owned by Umno has defended itself over claims by Lim Guan Eng, the Chief Minister of Penang that it was racist and had published false reports, calling him an ‘anti-Malay’. Guan Eng also claimed that Utusan had accused the DAP of being a tool for a foreign country and had called for DAP to be banned. Guan Eng then said that he will be suing the newspaper for defamation who had published a ‘clarification’ report that said “We admit that especially after the 2008 general election, Utusan has become more vocal with regards to Malay rights and Islamic issues.

However our readers, especially non-Malay readers, have to understand that after the last general election, there have been too many attacks against the Malays as well as Islam. This includes issues on quotas, language, equity, the position of the King and also the sanctity of the word ‘Allah’. Although all these have been guaranteed under the Federal Constitution as Malay rights, but what’s obvious is that these issues are still being challenged today,”

Hitting out at Guan Eng, it said “Look at how the DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng accuses the readers and fans of Utusan as un-Malaysian for supposedly being extremist. This is the kind of unacceptable attitude of some politicians who attack us just because we report on the mismanagement of the state government as well as the crisis in opposition parties. Guan Eng should not expect the media to praise him especially since the Malays in Penang have been deprived of their rights. Time should not be wasted on him, but readers out there need to be more realistic in judging this paper and not get carried way by politicians fanning racial sentiments,”

LGE,just bring them to court. No point to waste time with this type of people. Skung will always be skung. Let the rule of law do the talking.

1Malaysia is my creation – Najib

The prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has laid claims on the 1Malaysia concept he mooted saying that it was purely his own creation and had not relation whatsoever with any other concepts, most notably the One-Israel concept which was said to be created by Apco Worldwide. The claims have been made repeatedly by the opposition front PR (Pakatan Rakyat), most significantly by the opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim where he has since been slapped with a 6 months suspension, together with Karpal Singh, Azmin Ali and R Sivarasa.

Najib said “The 1 Malaysia concept was not copied from another country. It is my own creation. Other countries may have a one this and a one that but nowhere in this world is there a 1 Malaysia: People First, Performance Now. It is very easy for us to make a political promise, but will that something based on the most populist approach be beneficial to us or otherwise?”

He also said that “We cannot afford to be spendthrift, we have to spend according to our capability. What is important is that the country’s future is guaranteed under the present government. We will do what we can, but if we spend way beyond our means then it might end up becoming a problem,”

Ex-Sime Darby man claims tortured by MACC director

A former Sime Darby Engineering manager has claimed he was tortured by a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) director during investigations in a graft case.

The anti-graft agency promptly denied the allegation.

Mazhazmi Jamaludin (picture) accused MACC Special Operations director Datuk Mohd Jamidan Abdullah of physically abusing him to implicate the owner of a shipbuilding company in the alleged corruption.

“Mazhazmi made a police report to allege that Mohd Jamidan Abdullah had mistreated him during the last day of his remand during the MACC interrogation,” Mazhazmi’s lawyer Shamsul Sulaiman told The Malaysian Insider tonight at the Putrajaya district police headquarters.

“They (MACC officers) wanted him to implicate Redzuan (Goh Mohammed Karian), the owner of the shipbuilding company (MLC Shipbuilding Sdn Bhd),” he added.

Mazhazmi, 36, was charged in the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur this morning with receiving a RM200,000 bribe from Redzuan on December 31, 2008 for allegedly proposing that the latter’s shipbuilding company obtain a US$134.2 million (RM416 million) contract from Sime Darby to construct and sell one lay barge as well as two tug and supply vessel hulls.

Mazhazmi alleged that Jamidan had ordered him to strip naked, blindfolded him and threatened to harm his private parts during detention on June 21 this year.

“There were threats to harm his private parts. They instructed him to strip (and) blindfolded him,” said Shamsul.

The lawyer added that it was Jamidan alone who allegedly committed the physical abuse in front of two other MACC officers.

“They played good cop and bad cop,” said Shamsul.

“Jamidan played the bad cop,” he added.

Jamidan had allegedly promised Mazhazmi that the latter would escape charges if he agreed to implicate Redzuan.

“He (Mazhazmi) was promised he would just be a witness and that he would not be charged,” said Shamsul.

“They wanted to prove Redzuan had guilty intention,” he added.

The lawyer pointed out that it was Jamidan’s purported vow that had kept Mazhazmi from lodging a police report over the alleged torture.

“The reason why six months lapsed between that time (of the incident) till now is because he held on to that promise,” said Shamsul.

“The other two (MACC) officers told him ‘Datuk promised. You are not going to be charged. Don’t make things worse’,” he added.

Jamidan’s alleged torture during the interrogation, which lasted from day till night in an office on the seventh floor of the MACC headquarters here, had “broken” Mazhazmi’s spirit.

“He was also kicked in the shins and slapped in the head,” said Shamsul, adding that no weapons were used.

“Once his spirit was completely broken, he was willing to do and say what they wanted. Next thing you know, he signed a statement,” said the lawyer.

Shamsul said the 36-year-old man was crying as he related his ordeal at the police station here.

“Just now, Mazhazmi was crying in front of the policeman,” said Shamsul.

Mazhazmi’s torture allegations against the MACC today come just as an inquest into Teoh Beng Hock’s death approaches its end.

Last July 16, the political aide to Selangor executive councillor Ean Yong Hian Wah was found dead on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam, after being questioned overnight by the MACC at its then Selangor headquarters on the 14th floor of the same building.

Today, the graft buster denied accusations that its officers had tortured Mazhazmi during detention.

The MACC’s denial was issued after online news reports were published earlier today that quoted Shamsul’s claims in court today of his client’s torture by MACC officers over graft allegations.

The MACC claimed Mazhazmi was taken to a clinic in on June 22 before his release to ensure that he was not injured during the detention period.

The anti-corruption agency also said there were no scars or wounds on Mazhazmi’s body, according to the doctor’s report.

Shamsul admitted that Mazhazmi did not suffer visible bruises or marks.

But he pointed out that it was “strange” for the MACC to order a medical checkup if no abuse had indeed taken place during detention.

“I believe taking him to the doctor was a cover-up,” said Shamsul.

“Mazhazmi said he was taken to the clinic. But he heard people talking on the telephone for him to see a certain doctor, to arrange for it, or something to that effect,” said the lawyer.

The medical examination was over in five minutes, claimed Mazhazmi.

Sime Darby suffered billions in losses in four projects, which were the Bulhanine and Maydan Mahzam project with Qatar Petroleum, the Maersk Oil Qatar project, the Bakun hydroelectric dam project, and the construction of vessels for use in the Qatar project earlier this year.

The MACC and Securities Commission (SC) said last Friday that it found possible breaches of the Penal Code and the Companies Act in the government conglomerate’s Energy and Utilities Division RM2.1 billion losses.

Jamidan had allegedly promised Mazhazmi that the latter would escape charges if he agreed to implicate Redzuan.

“He (Mazhazmi) was promised he would just be a witness and that he would not be charged,” said Shamsul.

KITA will have ‘big presence’ in next GE – Zaid

Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, the newly appointed president of KITA (Parti Kesejahteraan Insan Tanah Air) said that the newly named party (formerly AKIM) will have a ‘big presence’ in the next general election. Currently the party only has about 300 members and the Kelantan based party recently renamed itself to KITA and appointed Zaid as its leader after he left PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat). He said “Of course we will. Yes, we already have a number of candidates. I cannot tell you how many but yes, I will be one of them. We have a small membership, only about 300, but it is not the membership that determines support, it is the quality of our leaders. I am not in the numbers game. I believe I have already made a lot of difference. So of course, of course our presence will be felt,”

He also said that “Yes, I am funding Kita. It does not cost very much because it is a very small party. And I will get our candidates to fund themselves. Yes, we do not have much, but we will do what we can according to our means. We have little money, so we spend little money, but we fight with our beliefs, our ideals, our policies. Gaining instant or fast popularity, that is not what I am out to do. You have to win based on something substantive. I am not fighting with them (PR and BN) in that sense, I do not have to play their game. I play a game which I think is good for the people. I want to address the people’s issues, not play politics or just mere sloganeering. Am I throwing a tantrum by forming Kita?

Am I the sort of guy to do that? People can say whatever they want, I know I am not free from this. But I am fairly certain that the majority of people will view me kindly. They may not agree with my approach or style but I do not think they will attribute bad faith or think that I am power-crazy. It is very combative but not specific. It is like six blind men talking about an elephant but describing it in a different way. Someone talks about ketuanan Melayu, then someone else speaks about ketuanan Rakyat. We are all over the place and it lacks clarity,”

Funny....real funny. A sore loser having 300 members wants to make an impact. We shall now call him MAT JENIN.

Zaid@Mat Jenin is the worst politician I have ever come across in my life.
He will again fall from the 'coconut tree' he is up on.

Silly..... real silly.

So KITA becomes the spoiler in the coming General Elections to give the UMNO led BN a chance to win big.
Zaid tried to break up PKR from within but was found out and now this Najib plant wants to help UMNO.
I am afraid he will fail miserably.

Hindraf wants 15 federal and 38 state seats, tells Pakatan to stay away, or else..

P Uthayakumar, the pro-tem secretary-general of the HRP (Hindraf Human Rights Party) said that the party is issuing an ultimatum to the opposition front PR (Pakatan Rakyat) to stay clear of 15 parliamentary seats and 38 state seats in the next general elections. He said that this is because the Indian-based party believe that they would win all the constituencies if they are to give BN (Barisan Nasional) straight fights. The 15 parliamentary seats are Padang Serai, Batu Kawan, Sungei Siput, Ipoh Barat, Bagan Datoh, Cameron Highlands, Hulu Selangor , Kuala Selangor, Klang, Kota Raja, Rasah, Teluk Kemang, Alor Gajah, Tebrau and Lembah Pantai.

Uthayakumar sent a letter to the leaders of Pakatan namely opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Hadi Awang, the president of PAS and DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang where he said that if Pakatan does not back out, then they would need to contest with the HRP as well as against BN. However, if they do so, then HRP will give them “unequivocal support and cooperation in all the other 207 parliamentary and 538 Pakatan state assembly constituencies” to win back the lot of ambivalent Indian voters.”
He said “We have shown magnanimity in throwing our lot behind (Pakatan) in the 12th general election, now we ask you to return that favour. We hope Pakatan will not field candidates in these (constituencies) to become the spoiler and cause three-cornered fights against our common political enemy (Umno-BN). The seats chosen had significant proportions of Indian voters and include seats currently held by Pakatan Rakyat such as Padang Serai in Kedah, Ipoh Barat in Perak, Kota Raja in Selangor and Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur. 15 loyal Hindraf activists have been short-listed as candidates. They have been tried and tested, have been part of Hindraf since day one, won't jump ship to another party and are as strong as PAS candidates,”

He also said that “We have given all the documents required by ROS on Nov 25, but whether we are registered or not we will contest…the worst case scenario is that we will contest as independents. MIC is given at least nine parliament seats and 20 state assembly seats on a silver platter. Why can't we be allocated some, too? The ball is now in (Pakatan's) court. In a one-on-one (contest), we stand a better chance of beating BN than Pakatan (in these constituencies),”

The Indians have never been and never will be the majority in the mentioned parliamentary seats. How can these fools ever win even a single seat if they go one on one against UMNO/BN. If Pakatan backs down and gives in to them, my gut feeling is that they will capitulate at the last minute and let UMNO/BN win uncontested, in exchange for senatorships. How can one trust these men who hijacked a welfare society called HINDRAF and used it as a racial/political force to buck the then government of the day?
I, for one, will never trust these pariahs of the Indian community.

hindraf who ever you are, fuck off from the election .you are not wanted either by your own people to stand for it. What an useless party as chinese says cannot even walk but started to run soon.got to learn from chinese man who are well verses in it.

I am not joining Zaid Ibrahim – Chegubard

Prominent blogger Chegubard or Badrul Hisham Shaharin, who was recently defeated in the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) Youth chief post in the party elections has reinstated his loyalty for the party and that he is not looking or planning to leave PKR and join KITA (Parti Kesejahteraan Insan Tanah Air) which is headed by former deputy president hopeful Datuk Zaid Ibrahim. Zaid had recently resigned from PKR and joined KITA which is the renamed party of AKIM previously. Since then, Chegubard has been rumoured to be interested in joining Zaid.

He said “In fact, contrary to popular belief, Zaid has never extended an invitation his way, nor was he offered money to jump ship. There are claims that I left the party after Zaid paid me a certain amount of money. This has been the same allegation thrown at me before, when it was said that I had received RM400,000 to support Zaid (in the race for PKR deputy president). These criticisms against the party had rubbed some people the wrong way, with some spreading rumours about his loyalty in order to needle him into losing his temper. These are the people who do not want critical voices in PKR, they want (people like me) to do something out of the ordinary so that they can find an excuse to sack us. But my criticisms are only for the betterment of this party. I don't want our problems to continuously be swept under the carpet,"

Nuclear plants for Malaysia starting 2021

Datuk Seri Dr Peter Chin, the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water announced that the government will be engaging an international consultant on the appropriate location and requirements for its plan to build 2 nuclear plants in the country which are expected to generate 1,000MW of energy each. He said that the first nuclear plant is expected to start operating in 2021 while the other plant will be ready in 2022.

He said “Hopefully, by 2013 or 2014, we will able to finish evaluating this. As for calling of tenders, we hope it will be done by 2016. Malaysia was heavily reliant on gas and coal for its electricity supply and it was government policy to reduce reliance on fossil fuel. Gas accounted for 64 per cent of the country’s energy generation while the remainder came from coal. We must get away from this. (It is) very much imbalance. Most countries have a good balance. We want hydro to assume a prominent role as it is clean but this can only be achieved in Sabah and Sarawak where there is much potential but not in Peninsular Malaysia. Besides, other sources of energy such as biomass and wind were too minimal while solar was a good potential but the technology was still very expensive. Biomass and wind, there is nothing to shout about. Unless and until solar renewable becomes big enough, this type of energy just compliments (what you already have) as you can’t generate much due to its high cost,”

He added that “Everyone wants to say that we want renewables but what about cost? Can we force the people to accept high tariffs? We have to look at a balanced way, that’s why we can’t depend on fossil fuel only. Nuclear has become a more prominent choice in balancing the energy source due to lower maintenance cost and lower tariffs in the long-run. For example, in Abu Dhabi, they are building huge solar energy plants but [were] at the same time balancing it up with a nuclear plant. They are not just concentrating on fossil fuel,”

Proof of the pudding is in the eating ! Yes Malaysia neds nuclear energy and here is my laugh at the Malaysians, SHOW US THAT MALAYSIA HAS THE TALENT TO MANAGE A NUCLEAR PLANT. How many Malay graduates will have both the knowlege and experience to operate a nuclear plant ? It is like any other sources of energy because Malaysia will need well educated & well skilled talenst to work such a power plant.

Poor Singapore so close and in danger of contamination from cuclear radiation from Malaysia if they have a plant; 200 miles from end to end of peninsula Malaysia is too short and the full fall out will hit Singapre like an atomic bomb. A little knowlege is a dangerous thing, my dear Malaysians.

Pakatan spoiling investment climate of Malaysia – Mustapa

Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, the Minister of International Trade and Industry has hit out at the leaders of the opposition front PR (Pakatan Rakyat), accusing them of poisoning Malaysia’s investment climate and for putting the country in a bad light where they are spreading lies and creating chaos, often blowing issues out of proportion in and out of the county.

He said "We do not want our country to be perceived as unsafe for investment due to uncalled for attempts by certain quarters with vested interest. We want the people to be united, live in peace and prosper. The transformation drive undertaken by Prime Minister Najib Razak had borne fruit and the people should work together to achieve the goals of becoming a high-income developed country.”

Mustapa, blame it on our leaders as they are the cause of all this. If this country leaders are capable and worthy to warm their seats, you think the people are so stupid not to support them ? I dont blame you as you are securely placed on that seat and enjoying your good life. What about those millions out there who have to struggle to earn a reasonable living ? If only the leaders know how to run this country, life would have been totally different for them. Dont blame the oppositions, they are infact doing the peole a big favour !!!

Suspension of Pakatan MPs a ‘flagrant abuse of power’ by Umno - Anwar

Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has accused the federal government for a ‘flagrant abuse of power’ by the BN (Barisan Nasional)’s largest component party Umno for suspending him, the deputy president of PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) Azmin Ali, Subang PKR MP R Sivarasa and Karpal Singh, the chairman of DAP for 6 months for their outbursts and criticism over the Apco-Israel issue.

He said “I don't see any reason to rush through my suspension. All this is a flagrant abuse of power. I don't think they have the patience to respond to the issues raised. For more than a decade, I have been demonised by Umno for having Jewish friends and being 'pro-Jew'. And now they enter into an agreement with an Israeli-linked company. Can you have a working relationship with Jews? Of course it's not a problem. But what I want to show is flagrant hypocrisy on Umno's part. (Nazri) is not telling the truth... I was not given a chance to testify at all, I appeared with a counsel on June 9 and then the committee adjourned to make a decision on whether the counsel is allowed. Not once was I given a chance despite our repeated appeals to add to that.”

What can one expect from UMNO.... nothing is fair in their eyes, its all about keeping it hush hush and sweeping under the carpet where they hope the people will forget.

Proof Apco link with 1Malaysia – Hishammuddin dares Anwar

Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, the Home Minister has threw a challenge to opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to show proof over his claims of the Apco-Israel issue which cost him a suspension of 6 months from parliament. Anwar had made the claims that the 1Malaysia concept mooted by the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was created after consulting Apco Worldwide, the consultancy company responsible for coming up with the One-Israel campaign in the past.

Hishammuddin said “Expose it. What is he afraid of? They have been threatening for a long time to reveal boxes of confidential information but, to this day, nothing has been shown. The only “strange” information that has been exposed so far has instead been US diplomatic cables in which Singapore alleged that Anwar had knowingly “walked into” a “set-up job”. Even then he (Anwar) accused the police of conspiring with the intelligence agencies of sovereign countries like Singapore and Australia. The people will not accept this anymore. When the churches were torched, Umno was blamed. When the cow head was paraded, Barisan Nasional (BN) was blamed. Even when tables and chairs went flying during PKR elections, they blamed Umno and BN,”

Prove what?? Another Umno minister talks through his arse...Did the BN dogs give an opportunity to Anwar to explain himself about this in parliament?? They conveniently sacked him and now wants proof?

Hisap kotek - Apco?? Up yours!

Hishammuddin I really dun know why are you sitting in the Parliament proceeding. Why are you not stopping Anwar from suspending, if you want the prove. You are just like after screwing the girl and ask the girl are you a virgin. What a competent minister you are as quoted by PM.

MACC officer involved in accident authorised to carry pistol

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer involved in an accident on the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) yesterday, was given the authority to carry a weapon while on duty.

According to MACC in a statement here today, assistant enforcement officer Jackson Mingat Pinol, from the Safety Division, is authorised to carry the weapon while on duty and had passed tests as well as rules and procedures to operate the weapon.

MACC said this in comment to media reports of a pistol found at the scene of an accident which involved Jackson Mingat.

Jackson Mingat was on his way to the MACC Headquarters in Putrajaya to return the Glock 9mm pistol after completing an official duty, the statement added.

“The pistol was returned by police to the MACC Headquarters in good condition, just like how our officer had received it,” said MACC.

MACC stated that its officers were authorised to carry and operate weapons during official duty as provided under Section 6 of the Firearms Act 1960, read together with Section 10 of the MACC Act 2009.

The question is in what circumstances are pistol allowed to be carried by MACC officers. I mean by law. NOT by MACC discretion, because MACC authority have no discretion under the prevailing law.
