Traitors are those who hide the truth........

Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar has thrown back the penderhaka (traitor) tag at Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, challenging him to come clean with his ministry's spending habits.

She said the real traitors were those who used public funds to pay for high maintenance costs set by anak emas (favoured) companies, and set high prices for projects or equipment purchases to line the pockets of a select few.

"If the defence minister is a true patriot, why did he not support MACC probe into the over RM500 million commission payment to Perimekar Sdn Bhd in the Scorpene submarine purchase?" Nurul Izzah (left) asked in a statement.

Ahmad Zahid's rejection of the MACC investigation came just one day after Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia revealed in Parliament on June 30 that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission was investigating claims that RM575 million was paid as commission to Abdul Razak Baginda in the procurement of the French Scorpenes.

Yesterday, Ahmad Zahid branded Nurul Izzah as a traitor for saying in an interview with Indonesian publication Kompas, published on Aug 4, that the country's first submarine, the KD Tunku Abdul Rahman, cannot dive. Bernama quoted the defence minister as saying Nurul Izzah's statement had damaged the country's image in the eyes of the world, and he described her criticism of the armed forces as "utterly disgraceful".

The Royal Malaysian Navy also lodged reports at the Hulu Kelang police station on Tuesday against Nurul Izzah and Malay Mail reporter Marhalim Abas over claims of the submarine's inability to dive. Nurul Izzah pointed out that her statement on the submarine was based on Ahmad Zahid's official statement last March that the KD Tunku Abdul Rahman was not allowed to dive due to technical problems.

She pointed out that Ahmad Zahid himself had told Parliament that similar technical problems were faced by many other countries, poking holes in his claim that her statement had threatened national security.

"If information on the dive status of any submarine in the world can be acquired openly, what is the rationale for saying that I am threatening national security?

"I am ready to be investigated by the police and hope it will lead to related issues, especially the deal given to a select company for maintenance of the submarine, and the ongoing investigations by French authorities on the same submarine," Nurul Izzah added.

Gang attack victims cry foul, lodge report against police

SEREMBAN: It was an improbable story. Four family members were beaten up in their house by a gang of 20 thugs. Three of the victims lodged a police report, but two were promptly arrested.

Now the two victims have lodged a report against the Rembau district police for alleged abuse of power.

It all started on Aug 15 when the gang entered the house of E Nadeson at Ladang Perhentian Tinggi, Sungai Gadut.

Using helmets, wood and bottle, they assaulted Nadeson, 48, his wife, his six-month pregnant daughter and his son-in-law S Sivakumar, 25.

Parti Sosialis Malaysia Negri Sembilan secretary S Tinagaran, who spoke on the victims' behalf, said Nadeson called the police who arrived 40 minutes later after the attack.

Nadeson's wife, daughter and Sivakumar were taken in an ambulance to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital.

Sivakumar received six stitches on his head, while his wife who sustained wounds to her abdomen is still in the hospital.

"On Aug 16, Nadeson, his wife and Sivakumar lodged a report at the Rembau district police. After an officer recorded the statement, both Nadeson and Sivakumar were arrested under the Riots Act,” Tinagaran said.

"Why did the police use the Riots Act to arrest the victims? They arrested only three of the assailants.

"On Aug 17, all five were released,” Tinagaran said at a press conference yesterday.

He said he was puzzled why Nadeson and Sivakumar were held in the first place.

"We want to know why the victims were arrested. We also want to know why the three assailants were released.”

No confidence in police

Tinagaran said the two victims want an investigating officer from the Negri Sembilan headquarters
to take over the case.

"They don't have confidence in the IO from Rembau,” he added.

Tinagaran also want the police to give protection to Nadeson and his family.

He also questioned why the Rembau police have still not given them a copy of the police report lodged by Nadeson and Sivakumar.

"I was told by Nadeson and Sivakumar that the Rembau police will only give the copy once they are represented by a lawyer," he said.

Meanwhile, Rembau PKR secretary Norazizi Abdul Aziz said the incident showed the public no longer trust the police institution.

"Where is the justice when the victims were assaulted in their own house by outsiders, and yet the police arrested the victims?

"I want an explanation from the state police chief, Inspector-General of Police and Minister of Home Affairs. We want to know what is happening in the police force,” Norazizi said.

Later, Tinagaran, Norazizi and other state PKR leaders accompanied Nadeson and Sivakumar to lodge a report at the Seremban police station, which is next to the police headquarters.

PM breaks his silence

The recent row among leaders from Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties led the Prime Minister to break his silence and expressed his concerns. Najib Abdul Razak said BN can definitely manage and settle all the problems or issues in the common interest.

As BN chairman, Najib said he will spend some time with all the party components to discuss their views and voice out their suggestions. Najib expressed his concerns following the statements made by some BN leaders that touched on racial sensitivities.

Even though he understood the need for some BN component party leaders to voice out their opinions on racial sensitivities, he urged the leaders to think twice on the people's reaction after listening to the speeches and comments made.

Najib made such remarks following the war of words between Umno and MCA when the Chinese-based party asked the government to abolish 30 percent bumiputera equity. In addition to that, MCA also asked for economic liberalization as well as merits-based and needs-based system citing it could help to enhance the country's competitive edge in the world.

Malay rights group Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali, Muhyiddin dan Hishammuddin warned President of MCA, Chua Soi Lek not to forget BN struggles when fighting for rights for the Chinese people in the country.

Another principal in Sungai Petani allegedly made racial slurs

Following the controversial case of a school principal in Johor making racist remarks during a pre-Merdeka celebration, it is alleged that another Sungai Petani secondary school head had also made racial slurs to her Chinese students by telling them to 'return to China'.

According to Kedah Gerakan chief Dr Cheah Soon Hai, he claimed that the headmistress from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Selambau accused the Chinese students of being insensitive towards the Muslims for eating in school compound during fasting month.

As a result, the headmistress told the Chinese students to 'return to China' if they could not respect other races' culture. In a statement by Cheah, he said such remarks are unwarranted by name-calling 'penumpang'. This is the second case reported this year involving principal making racist remarks

Where is Malaysia going to?

I always read that Chinese and Indians have to be sensitive to the Malays and teachers educating their students to hate those races. Where do we go from here?

Where is the sensitivity to those others? One shall only ask someone else for something which one would do for them freely as well!

When do the Malaysians start to see their similarities and not harp on differences? We live in this beautiful country and watch how a few dickheads try their best to destroy harmony and understanding. I am lost!

We have no big disasters and should call us lucky for that, but sometimes I think, maybe we need to have a big natural disaster to find together again as it was in earlier years, without making the race and religion a topic to fight! Just to be MALAYSIANS and forget everything else!

Pakatan claims Umno, Utusan ‘fuelling hatred’

Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders today flayed Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno-owned daily Utusan Malaysia for “fuelling the fires of hatred” by spreading “lies” that the Penang chief minister’s name had replaced the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s during Friday sermons at several mosques in the state.

PR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claimed the accusations against Lim Guan Eng were made out of BN’s sheer desperation to remain politically relevant, pointing out that he had personally read the text of the sermon.

“I personally monitored the situation... I read the text that was distributed and found that the allegations were unfounded.

“They were merely lies spread for the political gains of politicians who are getting increasingly desperate,” he said in a statement today.

He said that allegation, made by Penang Umno chief Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, was a reflection of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s failure to understand the people’s desire for a peaceful nation.

“We are confident that Umno’s ploy will not end here. They will surely use more slanderous lies to destroy the understanding and peace in the community.

“They are aware that Malaysians are committed towards seeking for change and justice,” he said.

DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang then slammed Utusan Malaysia for its front-page headline today, claiming the Malay daily had committed the most “irresponsible act in the history of Malaysian journalism”.

He said that the headline, which read, “Nama Guan Eng ganti Agong — Disebut dalam doa khutbah Jumaat: Umno Pulau Pinang bantah”, was “utterly baseless, a mischievous and dangerous incitement of religious hatred, tension and discord in plural Malaysia”.

“It goes against all the principles and values espoused by 1 Malaysia,” he said in a statement today.

Kit Siang reminded Malaysians that Merdeka was just around the corner, and called on a complete halt to the recent series of racially-charged incidents.

“With National Day only 11 days away and Malaysia Day in 27 days, there must be a complete halt to the recent series of irresponsible and crazy statements which are incitements of race and religion.

“Otherwise, the country is heading in the direction very opposite to the 1 Malaysia proclaimed by the prime minister,” he said.

Last week, a Johor school principal was accused of uttering racially sensitive remarks during a school assembly speech when she told the Chinese students to go back to China and said the Indians looked like dogs when they wore their prayer strings.

Today, another school principal in Kedah was accused of telling her Chinese pupils to “return to China”.

Kit Siang said Malaysians should celebrate Merdeka by embracing the country’s unity in diversity of ethnicity, religions, cultures and beliefs, the concepts of inclusiveness, social justice and the 1 Malaysia principles of integrity, culture of excellence, wisdom, humility, loyalty and the twin commitments of “People first, performance now”.

“But we have the opposite as illustrated by Utusan Malaysia’s front-page headline of falsehood and dangerous incitement to religious hatred, discord and tension,” he said.

Kit Siang noted that Abdul Malik Abul Kassim, the Penang executive councillor in charge of religious affairs, had already refuted Ahmad Zahid’s allegations against Guan Eng.

“Abdul Malik said initial investigations showed no such incident had occurred as the text of the sermon, which is prepared by the state religious affairs department, never used Lim’s name.

“As Abdul Malik said, whoever did such a thing was ‘insane’ as no right thinking person would do it,” he said.

Kit Siang also called on both Ahmad Zahid and Utusan Malaysia to explain and apologise for showing disrespect towards Najib’s 1 Malaysia concept.

Yesterday, Ahmad Zahid claimed that the use of Guan Eng’s name had been detected a week ago during the sermon at several mosques in the Tasek Gelugor, Permatang Pauh and Jelutong areas.

They banned Suara Keadlian for news about Felda's financial troubles which they claim are not true. Well, Utusan better be banned now for inciting racial hatred and publishing lies. The editors have to be ISAed!

UMNO did the same in Johor claiming the DR CJM will be the next CM and posted banners with the Sultan. Now they are doing it in Penang. Something tells me this is are very evil things to do and this happened in the month of fasting. UTUSAN has cross the line .

If the cruel lies of these people continue to spread this country will be feared by foreign investors and the nation will suffer a crisis of sorts. It is time the Prime Minister take control of the situation and bring the liars and irresponsible people to face full wrath of the law. Obnoxious is the word to decribe such cruel hoax.

Malaysians are fully aware that UMNO promotes religious intolerance and bigotry. When there's an issue, it take them a longtime to rebuttal those especially coming from ultra Malays. Some civil servants are no better, when someone is wrong, just admit.

The editor and Ahmad Zahidi should make public apology. Liars.

It's bankrupt politics of UMNO that's why people are willing to forgive whatever Anwar did (if he did it) rather than let racist corrupted and religious bigots ruled the country.

Karpal never met with PAS over hudud: Nik Aziz

PAS’ spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said that DAP chairman Karpal Singh was against his proposal for the implementation of hudud law as he lacked understanding of hudud as he had never obtained clear explanation on it.

The Kelantan Menteri Besar claimed that Karpal had never met face to face with PAS leaders over the party's proposal for hudud law to be implemented if the opposition managed to take over the federal government.

He said the dissenting voices heard were personal opinions and were not the official stand of the opposition pact.

“As most of the DAP leaders are educated, they should obtain explanation on hudud from those with expert knowledge on the subject,” he told reporters at his residence in Pulau Melaka, here, today.

He was earlier asked to comment on Karpal’s reported objection to the PAS’ proposal on hudud.

Nik Aziz had in his statement in conjunction with the launching of the Hududullah Day celebration on Thursday, said that PAS would continue to pursue the implementation of hudud as the party believed it could solve the problem of rising crime and social ills in the country.

According to the PAS leader, Karpal could come and meet him over the matter.

“The other DAP leaders are silent, only he is raising the issue. What he had said was his personal opinion and not the party’s decision,” he said.

Asked about PAS’ action to avoid dissenting voices over hudud from its partners in the pact, Nik Aziz said it was a difficult thing to deal with.

“You can’t avoid it because for as long as there is satan, there will be evil people, and for as long as there are angels, there will be good people. Our duty is to explain to the people to lead them to the right path,” he said

Pornthip: I work for rights of the dead, not Selangor government

As Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand faced relentless questions today about her qualifications and her testimony, the Thai forensic expert delivered what could perhaps be the line that fortifies her credibility as an expert witness in the Teoh Beng Hock inquest.

“You have to understand. I work for the rights of the dead, not the Selangor government,” she told the Coroner’s Court, drawing applause from a packed gallery, after Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) lawyer Datuk Abdul Razak Musa had questioned her qualification.

She had earlier maintained that she was sure Teoh’s death last year was not a suicide, but she declined to repeat her previous assertion that it was 80 per cent a homicide.

Dr Pornthip (picture, right) was testifying for the second time at the inquest into DAP political aide Teoh’s death. Teoh is suspected to have fallen from the 14th floor of Plaza Masalam, then state headquarters of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Before his body was found on a fifth floor landing he had been questioned overnight by the MACC.

Earlier today in court, Dr Pornthip testified that she disagreed with the findings of Dr Peter Vanezis, the British forensic pathologist brought in by the MACC to observe Teoh’s second post mortem last year. Dr Pornthip was also an observer.

Later, under questioning from Abdul Razak, who had suggested she was attacking the MACC with her testimony, she also told the court her university was among the top five in Asia when the MACC lawyer questioned her qualifications.

After telling Abdul Razak that she was working for the rights of the dead, she added that “my objective is to help the dead.”

Undaunted, Abdul Razak asked the Thai pathologist why she did not consider what transpired the night before Teoh was found dead.

“It is not important for the autopsy,” she said.

Asked again by Abdul Razak if she considered the point that there was no eye-witness to the pre-fall injury she asserted Teoh had sustained, Dr Pornthip answered that such injuries could be proven by scientific means.

At one point, Dr Pornthip even asked Abdul Razak if was indeed a lawyer, drawing more laughter from the gallery. Abdul Razak said he had been a lawyer for 24 years.

In what became a battle of wits, Abdul Razak also suggested that Dr Pornthip kept changing her position and “the goalpost.”

Abdul Razak then went on to point out to the inconsistencies of Dr Pornthip’s findings with those of Dr Vanezis and other local doctors.

But Abdul Razak also wrongly asserted that Pornthip spoke of strangulation today. But she denied citing strangulation as the cause of Teoh’s neck injury.

“I said that it was a pre-fall injury,” said Dr Pornthip.

She had earlier testified that the bruises around Teoh’s neck were caused by blunt force or trauma that was stronger than manual strangulation.

Abdul Razak pointed out that the other four doctors found no evidence of strangulation and asked Dr Pornthip if Teoh could have strangled himself.

Lawyer Gobind Singh Deo immediately stood up and asked Abdul Razak to demonstrate this, causing the gallery to erupt in laughter.

Abdul Razak also did not seem to grasp the difference between being unconscious and being dead.

He pointed out to Dr Pornthip that she had earlier testified that Teoh was alive at the time of the fall, to which she agreed.

“I agree he was alive, I never said he was dead,” she said.

Coroner Azmil Muntapha Abas had to explain to Abdul Razak that the issue was about Teoh’s state of consciousness.

The finding of new evidence, purportedly a note written by Teoh, was also raised at the inquest today.

Gobind had asked Dr Pornthip about the significance of any notes found at a crime scene.

She said it was significant and police should do forensic investigation and collect fingerprints and conduct DNA testing.

She added that this was protocol for the crime scene investigator and that it should be done immediately after discovery.

Gobind asked if such evidence was still reliable one year after it was found.

“It depends on what kind of scientific evidence there is. I won’t rely on handwriting only. It should be based on fingerprints and DNA.”

Dr Pornthip concluded her testimony today and the inquest was fixed for mention on September 1.

Gobind informed the court that they were consulting their own experts on the issue of the note and needed time to determine if they would object to the introduction of the new evidence.

MCMC disavows involvement in 98.8FM axings

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) explained today that it was not responsible for the removal of several individuals from Mandarin radio station 98.8 FM and was merely investigating it for allegedly breaching licence conditions.

In a media statement this evening, the MCMC said its investigations had kicked off following complaints that the station had allegedly aired content that may “upset the sensibilities and sentiments of races in the country”.

“Following several complaints received by MCMC on the morning programme, the radio station, Star Rfm Sdn Bhd (98.8 FM) is being investigated for breach of licence conditions.

“MCMC has also informed the station regarding the complaints received,” the commission said.

It added that Star Rfm, a subsidiary belonging to The Star Publications (M) Bhd, holds the Content Applications Service Provider – Individual (CASP-I) which requires its compliance to licence conditions.

“This includes prohibition on providing content which may upset the sensibilities and sentiments of any race or religion in this country,” it said in the statement.

It also explained that the MCMC had received complaints against the content broadcasted by the station on August 13 this year, with claims that it had contained sensitive material.

“Accordingly, MCMC evaluated the complaint and proceeded to investigate the radio station. The purpose of the investigation is to establish whether there is an offence committed,” it said.

The statement did not specify when it would conclude its investigations but assured that once this was completed, it would hand over the matter to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for further action.

“Any decision with regards to this investigation will be communicated in due course, in accordance with the provision in the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 or other relevant laws,” it said.

The commission also gave its assurance that its only concern in the matter was on the station’s compliance with the licence conditions and to ensure that there would not be any future breach.

It then stressed that staffing issues resulting from the investigation was purely the jurisdiction of the station’s management and not the MCMC’s.

“Issues relating to staffing of any licensee is an internal matter within the organisation. The MCMC is unable to comment.

“Any actions taken by the MCMC will be in accordance with the licence conditions for radio stations and provisions under any relevant laws,” it said.

Deejay Jamaluddin Ibrahim, who hosts the “Hello Malaysia” breakfast programme, was told by the station to take a leave of absence on Wednesday following a letter from the MCMC.

He was alleged to have touched on racially sensitive issues during the programme last week when popular columnist Oyoung Wen Feng was invited to speak on issues pertaining to racial discrimination.

Following his removal, Jamaluddin’s colleagues on the station caused a bigger stir yesterday when they wept openly on-air while discussing the issue.

They also turned the programme into a tribute to the popular host, the son of Malaysian freedom fighters the late Shamsiah Fakeh and Ibrahim Mohammed who both lived in exile in China due to their involvement in the Communist Party of Malaya.

Since then, the breakfast programme’s remaining three deejays have also been removed, while its chief executive officer Wong Lai Ngo and senior programme manager Tan Chia Yong were suspended.

It was speculated that the MCA was the silent hand behind Jamaluddin’s removal for the deejay was known to be supportive of the party president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek’s predecessor, Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat.

Dr Chua has, however, denied this.

It was not suicide – Dr Pornthip

Renowned Thai pathologies Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand who returned to the country to testify at inquest on the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock said in her testimony that she ‘work for the rights of the dead and not for the Selangor government’ to the coroner’s court. Datuk Abdul Razak Musa, the lawyer representing the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) questioned her qualification in conducting the autopsy.

She also earlier claimed that as per her autopsy report and findings, the death of Teoh was not suicide although she refused to repeat her statement that his death was ‘80% homicide’. She also said that she did not agree with Dr Peter Venezis findings, who is the forensic pathologist representing MACC. During the questioning, Abdul Razak claimed that Dr Pornthip kept ‘changing her position and the goalpost’ after Pornthip sarcastically asked him if he was indeed a lawyer.

Lim demanded Muhyiddin to clarify his political stand

DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang demanded Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to clarify on his political stand. Lim was referring to DPM's remarks when Muhyiddin raised May 13 incident in his attempt to warn MCA, the Chinese-based party to be careful with their words and statements.

In Lim's press statement, he said all the previous Deputy Prime Ministers have never raised the spectre of May 13 in the last four decades. Therefore, Lim said Muhyiddin's statement clearly contradicts with Najib's 1Malaysia concept and slogan.

On the other hand, Malaysia Chronicle also reported that PKR strategic director Tian Chua said how Malaysians are sick of the racist talk and debate. While Najib has been promoting 1Malaysia concept and slogan, Muhyiddin on the other hand thrashed it, thus Malaysians are confused on who do they follow exactly.

It is therefore time for Muhyiddin to clarify on where he stands in the matter – Najib and 1Malaysia or Mahathir and Perkasa? Malaysians would be torn apart if PM and DPM move different directions.

Karpal wants PM to act against errant CJ

DAP national chairman Karpal Singh today called on the prime minister to step in and act against Chief Justice Tun Zaki Azmi for breaching the judges’ code of ethics.

The Bukit Gelugor MP accused Zaki (picture) of hypocrisy and misconduct while on the Bench and wants a tribunal to be set up to probe Malaysia’s top judge.

Karpal stressed that only the prime minister had the constitutional power to do so and cited Article 125(3) of the Federal Constitution: “If the prime minister, or the chief justice after consulting the prime minister, represents to the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong that a judge of the Federal Court ought to be removed on the ground of any breach of any provision of the code of ethics prescribed under Clause (3B) or on the ground of inability, from infirmity of body or mind or any other cause, properly to discharge the functions of his office, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong shall appoint a tribunal in accordance with Clause (4) and refer the representation to it; and may on the recommendation of the tribunal remove the judge form office.”

“I think the prime minister should advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to set up a tribunal for the removal of the chief justice,” the veteran lawyer told reporters, noting other laws dealing with judges who breached a code of ethical conduct could not be used on Zaki.

Karpal explained it was because the other laws required the Chief Justice to decide the members of the investigation panel, but “no one should be a judge in his own cause”.

“It is the highest form of misconduct for YAA, having regard to YAA’s high standing as Chief Justice of Malaysia to have departed from the high standard of personal conduct expected of YAA when uttering at the prize-giving ceremony at the Federal Court Excellent Service Award on June 11, 2010,” Karpal told reporters today, calling Zaki by his honorific and referring to NST’s report dating back to June 12 this year.

“I’m not making allegations without any foundation. I’ve got nothing personal against the Chief Justice, but as an MP, it is my duty to point out misconduct on his part,” he added, pointing to audio recordings of the interview.

The federal lawmaker berated Zaki for rapping jurists and other court officials for being on the take when the latter had two years ago disclosed, in an interview with a national English daily, that he had offered bribes while a lawyer.

“It took me six months to be nice, to bribe each and every individual to get back into their good books before our files were attended to,” the New Straits Times had published on November 7, 2008, quoting Zaki who had then just been promoted to the top judge post.

Karpal has repeatedly attacked Zaki over the 2008 disclosure and pressed him to resign from his post, despite the latter’s claims he was misquoted.

“To be fair, I think he should step down [as Chief Justice]. I’m making this complaint in my capacity as a member of Parliament,” he told reporters.

how you expect Najib to call for the tribunal when its clear that - UMNO wants the judge to be such to uphold their position. Unless the CJ goes against BN then can be done as what happen during Tun Maha era. What ever is it, we have to leave with this corruption people until the people change the government - that is the only time a Real Reform can take place in our country.

Utusan should respect Ramadan

I would like to highlight a matter that is not of any interest in politics, but of interest to the holy month of Ramadan to our fellow Muslims, particularly Malay-reading Muslims in Malaysia who are among the 859,000 readers (claimed by Utusan Malaysia) via the 206,577 copies of the newspaper in circulation according to Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) in its July- December ‘09 survey.

I am disappointed and angry as a woman but particularly as a Muslim to find such an influential, Malay mainstream newspaper as Utusan Malaysia would (I believe) PURPOSELY print a nearly quarter-page in a broadsheet newspaper a picture of a woman with her cleavage popping out like nobody’s business!!

What’s more insane and incomprehensible is that the news article is just 1/10 of the whole page! So, why do you need to blow up that picture to such a big proportion? (Utusan Malaysia — Luar Negara — page 23, August 20, 2010)

Another indecent picture in there that I would like to highlight is on page 38 in the sports section featuring tennis player Caroline Wozniacki with her already very short skirt lifted up while playing a game.

Who in their right mind (I am referring to Utusan Malaysia’s chief editor) would allow such an image to be printed out for the mainly Malay-Muslim readers in the holy month of Ramadan? It is not only provocative and controversial but it is disrespectful to women in general.

Yes, no doubt such a photo can be found in other media but in Utusan Malaysia in the month of Ramadan? I would think the people behind this have no sense. Don’t they know how to use the “crop” item in the edit button in their Photoshop software??

What pisses me off further is the fact that the current baby-dumping issue is a hot pisang goreng in ALL the media, and here is Utusan Malaysia printing such photos as if to turn on young boys including matured men? And think about what? Sex? Plus, knowing that their mainly Muslim readers read the newspaper in the morning when they have just started their fasting day?

There goes the rest of their fasting day I suppose?

I don’t want to rant more about the baby-dumping issue, religious rules and all that... I just want the editors in Utusan Malaysia to know that it is such an inappropriate move to print such pictures even at anytime of the year for that matter for reasons of being decent and respectful to their mainly Malay-Muslim readers.

I hope this will not happen again and maybe the Home Ministry should take its licence away or at least suspend it?

To understand the idiotic mentality of Utusan's management, one need only to read the usual rubbish printed. They have no morality, responsibilty and respect for anybody, encouraged and embolden by their masters to spin whatever stories required to sell the papers. Until and unless their masters take the initiative to stop them, nothing can.

BN row to be solved internally, says Najib

Datuk Seri Najib Razak moved today to end the racially-charged spat between Umno and MCA, pledging to resolve the public disagreement involving Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders internally.

The prime minister also told coalition leaders to be careful when issuing public statements so as not to hurt the feelings of any community.

“Whatever the problem, we will solve it in the spirit of Barisan Nasional. I believe we are an experienced party and are able to manage any problem,” Najib (picture) told a press conference here.

“They can discuss anytime, and as the BN chairman I will allocate the time for all component parties to express their views and recommendations,” he added.

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek was recently caught in a verbal war with Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein over issues affecting the Chinese community.

“I understand that sometimes they are forced to make public statements. I understand. But I hope all parties will realise that our audience out there, those who listen to our speeches, are Malaysians and anything we say we have to take into account the reaction of other racial groups,” said Najib.

The Umno-MCA war escalated after the Chinese-based party attempted to push hard for the abolishment of the 30 per cent Bumiputera equity target.

During the MCA’s Chinese Economic Congress over the weekend, the party had also called for economic liberalisation and a merits-based and needs-based system to enhance Malaysia’s competitive edge in the global arena.

This raised the ire of several Malay leaders, including Malay rights group Perkasa chief Datuk Ibrahim Ali, who warned that Umno would lose Malay votes if it bent to the MCA’s will.

Both Muhyiddin and Hishammuddin joined the fray later, sternly reminding Dr Chua not to forget the BN’s struggles when fighting for the rights of the Chinese community.

Muhyiddin also reminded the MCA that the unfair distribution of wealth had resulted in the 1969 racial riots, the worst in the multi-racial country’s history.

Without missing a beat, Dr Chua shot back with a retaliation of his own, citing his disappointment with Muhyiddin for using the 1969 riots to warn him.

He also said that Hishammuddin’s response was an indication that “some BN leaders” had failed to learn from the coalition’s failures in Election 2008, which saw it lose its two-thirds parliamentary majority.

Dr Chua also said he was not afraid to share views with political foe DAP, provided it was for the good of the community.

On the MCA’s push to abolish the Bumiputera equity target, Najib said the government’s challenge is to manage the expectations of the different racial groups.

“Malays may feel they are still weak economically and still require government’s assistance through policies. At the same time the Chinese may have different considerations,” said Najib.

“So, one of our challenges is to manage this political dichotomy in our community,” he added.

Yah...just sweep problems under the carpet and pretend the problems do not exist!! This has been happening the past numerous years!!!
A more courageous leadership would be to state your stand unequivocally...

Aleady expected it! Najib will tell all to keep quiet and they look as though Muhyddin, Hsiam and CSL is championg the cause of the voters.

Wayang Kulit in UMNO and BN!

‘Racist’ Headmistress in Johor issue a misunderstanding – Education DG

Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom, the director-general of the Education Ministry said that the issue of the headmaster of a school in Johor who was temporarily transferred after allegedly making racial remarks at one of the school’s weekly assembly was just a ‘misunderstanding’ and that the matter is already resolved and hence no further action would be taken. The principal of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Siti Inshah Mansor was allegedly reported to have said “Chinese students... can return to China,” and that the prayer strings worn by Indians was like a dog leash.

Alimuddin said “There is no change, the issue was only a misunderstanding and the problem has been solved between the principal and students,” opposition party DAP called for the principal to be removed after 17 complaints were made. According to Kulai Jaya deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Mohd Kamil Sukarmi “The police would be calling for the principal’s statement to be recorded today.”

According to the reports, one of the complainant quoted that Siti Inshah had during the school assembly said “Chinese students are not needed here and can return to China or Foon Yew schools. For the Indian students, the prayer string tied around their neck and wrist makes them look like dogs because only dogs are tied like that,”

Umno slams DAP’s promises

Lim Guan Eng, the Chief Minister of Penang had last week promised that if the opposition front PR (Pakatan Rakyat) takes over the federal government at the next general election, they will provide among others, nationwide free Wi-Fi internet access, RM1000 for all senior citizens and the abolishment of the saman ekor system. The leaders of Umno however believe that the ‘sweeteners’ would not be able to be delivered. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, the MP of Lenggong said “While it is easy for the opposition to make such grand promises, they always choked when the time came for delivering. DAP's failure to abolish highway toll charges and land issues which remained unsettled in Penang, both of which he claimed DAP had promised to address prior to winning the state in 2008. They make promises without research and when it is time to fulfill those promises, they find that they cannot do it. Either it is not practical or they do not have the resources.”

Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo, the vocal former Selangor Mentri Besar also slammed the DAP saying that “Populist measures like DAP's promises, would use up money needlessly but not address the root of the problem. How long can they sustain (the promises)? They will not last [...] they make the promises but like in Selangor they never really fulfill them. Even free water in Selangor is causing (Menteri Besar) Khalid Ibrahim a lot of headaches. It is nearly RM150 million a year. If DAP were really as great as they say they were, they should lead by example. Do it first in Penang, then we'll believe you are serious about it. We would like to see them do it in Penang and roll it out in Kedah and Kelantan too,”

Meanwhile Abdul Rahman Dahlan, the Kote Belud MP said “The 'sweeteners' wouldn't make DAP and Pakatan any better at governance. If DAP's Lim Guan Eng thinks that RM1,000 or abolishing the saman ekor and free Wi-Fi make his party the better party to form the next federal government, he is insulting the intelligence of Malaysians. There were already enough populist promises and approaches to economic policies from the opposition, adding that the measures would gain popular support in the short term but would cause the nation to suffer in the long term. Quick fixes like populist policies will only make things worse and may possibly bankrupt the nation as we are heading more and more towards a welfare state status,”

BN Youth wants ‘racist’ school principal punished

The Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth today demanded the government punish Johor school principal Siti Inshah Mansor if allegations that she made racist remarks were proven true.

Their call came after angry parents lodged 17 police reports against the SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra principal, whose remarks the Education Director-General Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom dismissed as a mere misunderstanding which has been resolved. But the parents now say it has not been resolved and described Alimuddin’s statement as a “cover-up”.

“BN Youth calls for the government not to take this matter lightly,” said its chief Khairy Jamaluddin in a statement today.

“If it is true that it happened, she should be charged with a severe punishment under Section 504 of the Penal Code or the like as our multi-racial country cannot accept this at all,” added Khairy, who is also the Umno Youth chief.

The police are currently investigating the case under section 504 of the Penal Code for provocation which carries a maximum imprisonment of two years, a fine or both.

Siti Inshah allegedly likened Indian students wearing prayer threads to dogs and ordered dissatisfied ethnic Chinese and Indian students to “return to China or India”.

The principal reportedly made the derogatory remarks during the launch of the school’s Merdeka celebrations last Thursday.

“Did she (Siti Inshah) not consider the students’ feelings, especially the Chinese and Indians, by making comments that appear to insult and chase them out of the country while they were singing “Negaraku, tanah tumpahnya darahku?” asked the Rembau MP.

BN Youth’s censure against the school principal joins a chorus of condemnation against Siti Inshah since MIC central working committee member S. Murugessan has called on the government to mete out the “heaviest punishment” while DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang has demanded for her dismissal.

“Her remarks… are very disgusting and shows her ignorance in citizenship issues and religious rituals in this country. If it is true that it happened, then a severe punishment must be meted out as a lesson and a strong signal that any actions which are not in line with the 1 Malaysia concept, which fosters national unity, must be handled and acted upon accordingly,” said Khairy.

He pointed out that this incident which involved a school head, coupled with another earlier incident which involved the prime minister’s special officer, showed that racial tension was a growing systemic problem in the country.

Datuk Nasir Safar, the prime minister’s former special officer, allegedly said in February this year at a 1 Malaysia event that the “Indians came to Malaysia as beggars and Chinese, especially women, came to sell their bodies”.

He was later asked to resign as the prime minister’s aide and no further action was taken against him. In Parliament, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said that this was because it was difficult to prove if Nasir’s words had any tendency to be seditious.

Another civil servant accused of making racial slurs was a schoolteacher who purportedly made racist remarks but was let off with just a transfer.

Schoolteacher Rusita Abu Hassan who taught in SMK Telok Panglima Garang in Banting had in 2008 allegedly used derogatory remarks on a certain ethnic group in order to “test their level of patience”.

She was later transferred from the school but the punishment was viewed as more of a promotion for she was given a post in a smart school located near to her home.

Parents claimed that Siti Inshah has also made racist remarks in her previous school SMK Kelapa Sawit, where she called Indians Nigerians.

Another student alleged that Siti Inshah gave an example of owning a Proton Saga where a Chinese and Indian are passengers in the car and cannot claim any right to the car, likening it to Malaysia where non-Malay students are mere passengers.

Please sack her. Suspend her immediately. Please do not transfer her to another school nor give her a post in a smart school etc... Otherwise, everyone will be uttering derogatory remarks and hoping for a promotion......

Not only her. Discipline action must be taken against the DG for trying to cover up the racist women. This is a severe test on the Education Minister's credibility. Is he a good Malaysian leader ? A racist leader ? or well, gutless leader perhaps ?

That's is pretty strong demand from UMNO Youth and for once they are doing the right thing.
Or it it just part of the infighting in UMNO?
After all the DPM himself claims it was merely a "misunderstanding".
I guess he does not understand what 1Malaysia is about.

he goverment should investigate why after 52 years , we still have teachers worst still it is a principal who has such a weak feeling and narrow perception on other races, if she is a Chinese or Indians headmaster , most probably he/she will end up in ISA or SEDITION ACT ???

end of this month , we Malaysian are going to celebrate 53 years of Independent...... Is it a kind of joke ????

Dear PM , this is a TESTING TIME about your One Malaysia, prove it to us you mean business otherwise we will vote you out..... Malaysians are tired and FED-UP with Racial Politic ..... we have to move forward fast to catch with others neighbour, we have No Time to fool around with Racial sentiments daily SPINNING ....

What abt Ibrahim Ali and gang??? Punish them also!!

Don’t try to be like Kit Siang or a ‘chinese warrior’ – Ibrahim Ali tells Soi Lek

The president of Malay rights group Perkasa, Datuk Ibrahim Ali has hit out further at MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek where he said that despite trying to act like a ‘Chinese Warrior’ like DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang, he has failed to impress the Chinese community. Ibrahim was commenting on the recent polls that showed that Dr Chua only had 9% of the support from the Chinese community. Ibrahim said “I am not surprised only nine per cent of Chinese voters support Dr Chua. Reason – his pornographic CD. The Chinese have moral values,”

He added that “Dr Chua thinks that by doing so, the Chinese will forget his sex video. But he is doing more damage to the Chinese. Chua’s recent attempts to embolden the MCA had only succeeded in making the Malays angry with the Chinese community. Because now, the Malays feel the Chinese are being too demanding. Their demands do not reflect the social contract as agreed on before we obtained our independence,”

Saying that Dr Chua’s attempt to try and be like Lim Kit Siang as the “biggest joke of the year”, Ibrahim added that “If the Chinese reject BN, then replace (the BN) with whom? DAP? Then (there will be) disaster to the Chinese, to the Pakatan Rakyat. Can DAP work with PAS? Policy how? Anyway, good luck to the Chinese who forgot history and do not know the reality of Malaysian politics.”

Dr Chua may have been unfortunate to have been caught with his pants down, but at least he has the balls to raise such issues comapred with the the previous MCA 'yes men' Presidents.

Now, how about your PM - who not only kaw kaw main Altantuya, but got her killed as well. That is even more shameful and cruel.

Could you do us a favour and put a sock in your fat big mouth??

Who the hell he thinks he is???The One who has the right to criticise others, and never accept criticism for others...the one who can give Umno or the PM an ultimatum and not vice versa...the one who think he is above all..be it the Government,or other respectatble leaders. The one that bad mouth everyone except himself!! No wonder Ma Hku thir like to have people with the big and bad mouth...

These ulgy jumping frog nothing good than a cloud of dust. Each time he utter his words seen like to have his one foot in the grave. He is only to put his nose out of joint.

Stay away from Umno-MCA war, Guan Eng tells DAP leaders

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today warned his party leaders against joining the Umno-MCA spat, claiming the government was planning another Internal Security Act (ISA) crackdown on the opposition, similar to the 1987 Operasi Lalang.

Lim described the ongoing “sandiwara” quarrel between Barisan Nasional allies Umno and MCA as a “chilling reprise” of the events during 1987 when the then MCA deputy president Datuk Lee Kim Sai sparred with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who was then the Umno Youth chief, over an issue involving Chinese vernacular schools.

“This verbal media war between MCA and Umno was then used as a pretext by the BN to initiate Operasi Lallang.

“However, instead of detaining both Umno and MCA leaders involved, DAP, PAS and PSM leaders were detained. Lee was only asked to go on a holiday to Australia,” Lim (picture) claimed in a statement here today.

He recalled that among the notable opposition politicians detained were himself, Karpal Singh, Lim Kit Siang, Mohd Sabu, Datuk Mahfuz Omar and Khalid Samad.

A total of 117 people, including 16 DAP lawmakers, were detained during the infamous crackdown, he said. The licences of four publications – The Star, Sin Chew Jit Poh, The Sunday Star and Watan – were also revoked.

“DAP leaders should not fall into the same trap that the BN had set 23 years ago to use the sandiwara quarrel between MCA and Umno as an excuse to apply the ISA powers of detention without trial on the opposition

“Otherwise, DAP leaders will again be victimised and detained as happened in 1987, while MCA and Umno will escape unpunished,” he said.

Lim also claimed that the BN’s ploy was to use the quarrel to distract the public’s attention away from the country’s real problems.

“As BN faces challenges of rule of law, corruption, abuse of powers and a declining economy, playing up racial sentiments is an easy way of not being accountable for their failures,” he claimed.

Lim was referring to the ongoing spat between Umno and MCA over the Chinese-based party’s stand to push hard for the abolishment of the 30 per cent Bumiputera equity target.

During MCA’s Chinese Economic Congress over the weekend, the party had also called for economic liberalisation and a merits-based and needs-based system to enhance Malaysia’s competitive edge in the global arena.

Party president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek had announced the congress’ proposal to allow the appointment of non-Bumiputras to government-linked companies as well as the creation of an open tender system for government procurements.

This raised the ire of several Malay leaders, including Malay rights group Perkasa chief Datuk Ibrahim Ali, who warned that Umno would lose Malay votes if it bent to the MCA’s will.

Umno leaders like deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein later told Dr Chua not to undermine BN in his fight for the Chinese community and to stick to the coalition's struggles.

Muhyiddin, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, reminded MCA that the unfair distribution of wealth had resulted in the 1969 racial riots, the worst in the multi-racial country's history.

Without missing a beat, Dr Chua shot back with a retaliation of his own, citing his disappointment with Muhyiddin for using the 1969 riots to warn him.

He also said that Hishammuddin’s response was an indication that “some BN leaders” had failed to learn from the coalition’s failures in Elections 2008, which saw it lose its two-thirds parliamentary majority.

Dr Chua also said he was not afraid to share views with its political foe DAP, provided it was for the good of the community.

Later in Lim’s statement, the Penang Chief Minister also reiterated his call for the formation of a Royal Commission of Inquiry to probe the loss of RM52 billion in Bumiputera shares, claiming it had been “hijacked by BN leaders”.

“The Prime Minister himself had admitted that of the RM54 billion in bumiputra shares given out since the New Economic Policy (NEP) was launched in 1970, only RM2 billion remained in the hands of the Bumiputeras.

“Clearly, the RM52 billion worth of shares given to the few Malay or Bumiputera leaders were cashed out and sold off. Stern action and full force of the law should be unleashed at this open sabotage of the NEP.

“If the RM52 billion worth of Bumiputera shares still remained in Bumiputera hands, then the 30 per cent Bumiputera equity target under the NEP would have long been achieved,” he said.

This is between MCA and UMNO. All PR reps should just stay away from it at all. Do not let BN has the chance to shoot PR back. Whether CSl wins or UMNO wins, sure this will jeoperdise their relationship.

As for PR, just stay out and watch what happen in the end. It may turn out to be a trap for PR reps.... Be smart as usual!

Yea, listen to LGE. Just go buy your kacang putih and Coke and enjoy the show.

They are looking for new things to complain about so that the Rakyat will be distracted from their 'internal' bickerings.

Be careful, they will drag you in for every single little thing. Don't give them any excuse or reason. Stay away from them is even better.

Do not involve in this Sandiwara.......they are just Distracting attention from the country's real economy prob !

This is part of 1Malaysia - MCA's Chinese opera and UMNO's Malay bangsawan!

UMNO will do anything just to stay in power. Just be cautious and plan your move. PR should come up with SOP, common stands on major issues, and shadow cabinet to counter UMNO. Forget about the component parties in BN.

The AG and IGP should resign

It doesn’t take a foreign pathologist, Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand to tell us that, in the event of a crime scene investigation, any notes found should be immediately sent for forensic examination.

A young boy following the CSI series on TV would have answered the giveaway quiz question without any difficulty!

Here is one case which had attracted so much attention nationwide. Across all walks of life, people are interested to know if Teoh Beng Hock had been murdered. If a murder can be carried out in the name of suicide, we are anxious with the state of our nation.

The fact that Teoh was about to get married, and that he was merely a witness in the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) interrogation into a case involving about RM2,000 used to buy Malaysian flags, is sufficient to discredit the suicide theory altogether. A person who fell to his death in a suicide case would not have back pockets that are torn or broken belts.

Only very few people with absolutely little sense of judgement (a.k.a. silly old goats) would believe that a man in his early thirties, who was going to be a father soon, would commit suicide by jumping down from the MACC office on the eve of his wedding.

Right from the beginning, when I heard that Teoh’s watch and other personal possessions were still with the MACC, it was already very clear that when Teoh died, he was still officially being detained by the MACC.

This has raised doubts about the MACC’s credibility.

Now, while it may be subjudice for me to comment about the case further, I wish to say that the Attorney General and the Inspector-General of Police should immediately resign for bringing both the AG’s office and the police force, respectively, into public scorn.

Why was the so-called “suicide note” never sent for forensic examination, when it should have been a protocol in all criminal scene investigations? Is this case telling us that, in the entire police department, no one pays attention to the proper procedures?

And if the Attorney General’s office had known about the suicide note in the beginning, the AG should immediately throw the file back to the investigation officer and demanded for forensic examination. Why the delay?

Why, amidst all the bad publicity this case is generating for the MACC, the police, the AG’s office and the Government, is this note being surfaced at the eleventh hour?

The thought of it being written by Teoh Beng Hock is enough to make one vomit. How could justice be further thwarted, when the rakyat clearly want to know whether this young man was murdered in the first place! How are you going to convince us that Teoh was not murdered, he merely committed suicide?

YES to this two in resignation for such a blunder they have caused , in the news at TV our IG said that our RAKYAT have 4th world mentality eventhough we are a modern nation, how about your service now questionable where what happen in Gombak and many isues in this country concerning your mans and AG himself for hiding or creating a uproar contempleting evidents in TBH case .

If the AG and IGP do not resign, which I doubt that they will do so, I would like Najib to answer this:
Give us one good reason why they should stay, if you can't, sack them!!!

Both AG and IGP works as politicians rather than as professional .. where were they graduated ?

"If a murder can be carried out in the name of suicide, we are anxious with the state of our nation."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With due respect dude, we were already anxious with regards to the state of our nation, when:

1) A Mongolian lady got murdered but evidence of her entering the country did a David Copperfield act
2) When Sodomy I charges were changed a number of times just to suit the prosecution's whims
3) When no charges were preferred upon the players of the VK Lingam debacle.
4) When the defence in Sodomy 2 is not even given access to the witness list.
5) When racist newspapers & political leaders continue to pound the nation with so much impunity, so much so that Hitler must be thinking, he must have done something right because his legacy lives on, more than 60 years after WW2.

Am I surprised?

The guys who are keeping a watch for the MACC must have been cut from the same cloth as the man who insinuated that Anwar must have given himself a black eye while in prison. These are the very same guys who turned a deaf ear to " looks like me, sounds like me", or " I help you, you help me".

So 3 cheers to UMNO.

Shah Alam church’s play during Ramadan - Perkasa lodges police report

Zainal Abidin Ahmad, the chairman of the Petaling Jaya division of Malay rights group Perkasa has lodged a police report against the Grace Church in Shah Alam and its pastor, Pastor Joseph Marcose for planning to stage a Christian play in the city during the course of the fasting month. Pastor Joseph said that the play has since been cancelled as it falsl on the long break.

Zainal Abidin said “We want the church and pastor to be investigated for sedition and for insulting the Sultan. Musa asks Arjunan to show prove of deputy minister's involvement in prostitution ring

Parti Keadilan Rakyat's (PKR) former State assembly candidate, M.S. Arjunan was asked to back his claims against Deputy Federal Territories and Urban Well-being Minister Datuk M. Saravanan in supplying college girls to VIPs for sex.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan requested Arjunan to hand over solid evidence to police on his claims against Saravanan. So far, Arjunan claimed that he has testimonies from three victims as well as CCTV recordings to support his claim.

However, Musa said the police have yet to receive any evidence from Arjunan. Musa reminded that Arjunan could be charged for withholding evidence if his claims against Saravanan proved to be true.

Arjunan had been called to assist police in investigations but he wasn't cooperative. Musa stressed that the police need to find out who, when and where it happened before taking action. Arjunan claimed that three more victims had come to him claiming that they too had been victimized by Saravanan.

The evidence was given to his lawyer for safekeeping purposes. The victims who came forward to Arjunan claimed that one of the customers is a veteran Tan Sri from MIC. Arjunan first received a letter addressed to him revealing Saravanan's illegal activities. The letter was signed by a man named Raman who claimed that his daughter was one of the victims.

Fight for all races, Shafie tells BN parties

Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties should win the heart of all races and not merely focusing on a particular race, said Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

He said the people’s confidence could not be achieved by bellowing actions and services merely for a particular race in public.

“This is because such action will only create problems for us later,” he told reporters after attending the breaking of fast hosted by the Rural and Regional Development Ministry here today.

Mohd Shafie, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, was commenting on MCA president Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek’s proposal that the 30 per cent Bumiputera quota should be reduced across the board.

“A party that champions the rights of all people will not necessarily get everything it wants and the differences should not be made a stumbling block against cooperation.

“What is important is the approaches or methods as there are things that can weaken or strengthen the cohesion. Use our reasoning and wisdom,” he said, adding that the purpose of a struggle was to strengthen the party without ignoring the rights of all people in the country.

Shafie, why don't you tell that to the DPM, that Malay first, Malaysian second UMNOPutra? Each time he feels UMNO's grasp on power is being threatened by an enlightened rakyat, he plays the racial card. Worse, he issues threat of another May 13. Is he saying that UMNO orchestrated and had control over May 13? Is he saying that UMNO can unleashed another May 13 anytime it wants to? If UMNO had fought for all Malaysians, particularly for the poor, regardless of race, instead of enriching the few UMNOPutras and BNPutras, the rakyat would have continued to support UMNO and BN. But, no, UMNO and BN chose to exploit the NEP for the gains of the UMNOPutras and BNPutras. How low can you get when you steal from the poor to enrich yourselves?

Soi Lek ,porn actor disappointed in Muhyiddin, says no need for war drums

Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said today that he was disappointed with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for using the May 13 incident to warn the MCA against undermining Barisan Nasional (BN) when fighting for the Chinese community.

He added that there was no need to beat the “racial war drum” because Malaysians were now more mature, adding that what MCA was asking for was not at the expense of other communities.

On Saturday, the MCA’s Chinese Economic Congress called for economic liberalisation and a merit-based and needs-based system to contribute to the path for Malaysia to be globally competitive.

Yesterday, Muhyiddin reminded MCA however that the unfair distribution of wealth had resulted in the 1969 racial riot, the worst in the multi-racial country.

The MCA president (picture) pointed out today that Malaysians had matured since 1969 and were able to engage in rational discussions.

“The socio-economic condition in Malaysia today is totally different from that in 1969 as Malaysians are capable of having rational discussions without beating the racial war drum.

“All we ask for is fair share. Rest assured the MCA has no plans or interest to deprive other communities of what is rightfully theirs,” he said in a press statement.

The Umno deputy president also warned the MCA to not undermine the BN when fighting for the Chinese community and reminded Dr Chua to be sensitive to the needs of other races in the country.

Muhyiddin dismissed a recent resolution by MCA’s Chinese Economic Congress for the 30 per cent Bumiputera quota to be abolished and said the Malays’ share of the economy was still low.

“This has to be looked in a larger context, without a fair distribution, we saw what happened in 1969, I hope it won’t happen again,” said Muhyiddin.

Dr Chua said today that MCA had always been loyal to BN but needed to remain relevant by catering to the needs of the Chinese community.

“MCA is sensitive of its role within the Barisan Nasional but we have a role to play as Chinese-based party so that we can continue to be relevant.

“The loyalty of the MCA towards Barisan Nasional should not be questioned as it has gone through good and bad times when Umno suffered setbacks. Back then MCA had delivered support to ensure its victory in the general elections,” he said.

Dr Chua said that the party never questioned the special position of the Malay community and reiterated that affirmative action must be based on needs, merits and be market-friendly.

“In a multi-racial country, growth should not be a zero-sum game as there are reasons to worry that we will continue to be trapped as a middle-income country if we do not liberalise our economy and boost investment.

“We advocate that Bumiputeras should be given price preference in certain economic sectors when the economy is liberalised for open tender,” he said.

He added that the congress proposed a gradual reduction of the 30 per cent Bumiputera quota and the introduction of price preference to allow the community to compete on a equitable basis.

Dr Chua said Malaysia could only achieve its target in the 10th Malaysia Plan and New Economic Model (NEM) if it was able to attract domestic and foreign investment worth RM115 billion.

“In order to attract RM115 billion of private investment per annum under the 10th Malaysia Plan, we must ensure that our economy is competitive and vibrant.

“We can only achieve the target by liberalizing sectors such as oil and gas as well as telecommunication; rationalising subsidy and opening tender with price preference to Bumiputras,” he said.

An all-out war appeared to have broken out between MCA and Umno yesterday when Dr Chua Soi Lek accusing “some BN leaders” of failing to recognise past failures after Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein’s blunt reminder to the MCA to stick with BN’s struggles.

The MCA president said that the party was not afraid to side with its opposition foe DAP in issues that benefited the community and would not run away from making its stand known.

Whenever UMNO feels threatened, they bring up the May 13 issue. This shows that they have not matured since 1969. They are still living in the past. That is why we need a CHANGE! Just do it at GE13.

If umno wish to continue to remind people about the May 13 bogeyman, then they could

1) set up a may 13 museum
2) build a may 13 bogeyman statue
3) make May 13 a public holiday for Chinese only

Why must UMNO talk only about Malays? What about Kadazan/Dusuns, Dayaks, and Orang Asli if Indians and Chinese borned in Malaysia are not considered or recognised as Bumiputra under the Federal Constitution. Do we have 30% equity foir Bumiputra in East Malaysia? Yet we did not have May 13 in East Malaysia. Who started May13 then if not UMNOputras who were making use of the simple minded misplaced Malays then.

Why should and must MCA keep pledging royalty to Umno??Time changed and even Sex z Lek knows, only stupid Umno kepala doesn't realised and keep on harping on 1969..see how empty their cocounuts are..Even a college boy knows,Malai siaw is laking behind all those countries like Spore, Thailand,Philipine and Indonesia...and if the Most corrupted BN government continue, this once upon a time Asian tiger could become a Asian begger..solely due the the NEP's begger 's policy of continueing begging others to allot share to certain people under the better name of race...Soi Lek , why not have a unity meeting with Dap, Gerakan, Supp, Sapp???if Umno can meet with Pas, why can u think of that??

Ibrahim Ali hits out at Chinese Economic Congress for being 'ungrateful' and making 'extremist' dema

Datuk Ibrahim Ali, the president of Malay rights group Perkasa has yet again got himself into some controversy when he said that the Chinese Economic Congress which is championed by BN(Barisan Nasional)’s component party, MCA was being ‘ungrateful’ and that the demands that they put forward showed that they were ‘extremists’. Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, the president of MCA said at the congress that for Malaysia to become competitive internationally, there would be a need for a merit-based and needs-based system.

This caused the wrath of Ibrahim who said “Perkasa denounces and condemns outright their request for the government to lower the 30 per cent equity for Bumiputera. This shows their ungrateful attitude to the Malay community and Bumiputeras who have compromised and tolerated because of the social contract in our constitution. The demands are greedy and extreme because the 30 per cent target asked by the Bumiputera represents 67 per cent of the population. They also ask that non-Malays are elected in GLCs. I want to ask how many company owned by non-Malay cartel which are given special treatment by the government have elected Malays into their board of directors. I also want to know how many Malay professionals have been appointed into the cartel companies?”

Apart from that, “Perkasa will go against the government proposal to have open tender for strategic land and GLCs. This is because the proposal will chip away from the little economic wealth is still owned by the Malays and the Bumiputeras. The government must review the proposal and have a mechanism whereby the open tender system will continue to maintain the interests of Malays and the larger Bumiputera community. The prime minister must quash all the concerns and ensure that there are no Napoleons around him that are attempting to sabotage the Malay and Bumiputera agenda. If the government does not fix all of this then I believe Umno will feel the consequences in the upcoming general election. In their efforts to get non-Malays to support Barisan Nasional, Malay voters will get frustrated and run to a different party. This will happen so the prime minister and the deputy prime minister must act on this,”

Instead of keeping those thinking to yourself, you try to influence others including the policy makers. Guruji advised Guan Eng to serve the people with a smile

World renowned humanitarian and spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar gave a six-word advise to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng – serve the people with a smile. He advised Lim to serve the people in Penang with a smile because if he don't carry a smile, he will not be able to perform and serve them well.

The spiritual leader also known as Guruji said the world of politics must be accompanied with spirituality. In other words, one must be concerned with the world and not just for an organization. He said Malaysia has it all. Thus, everybody should appreciate the country and together make it a better place.

In response to the six-word advise, Lim said he will remember the words and to serve the people with a smile. After uttering the statement, it was followed by a gesture of smiling to prove that he understood the advise given by Guruji.

Deputy Minister allegedly involved in supplying prostitutes to VIPs

Police will soon launch an investigation against a deputy minister following a report of sexual misconduct besides being attributed to be involved in supplying prostitutes to VIPs and upper-class customers.

According to police sources, a politician in mid-50s from Ipoh went to lodge a police report in Brickfields District Police Station Headquarters against the deputy minister for his sexual misconduct.

The politician who lodged a police report claimed that he has evidence to back his claims on the deputy minister's involvement in prostitution ring for supplying underage girls to customers. It is alleged that the deputy minister began his 'business' to supply prostitutes and drugs subsequently after the general election in 2008 ended.

The complainant said that he received a letter addressed to him on August 11. The letter claimed that the deputy minister supplies college students to VIPs. It is believed that the accused rented a house in Gombak to conduct the immoral activities.

The letter is said to come from a girl who was once a victim of the prostitution ring. However, since the complainant comes from Ipoh, the case has been passed over to police in Perak. Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur deputy CID chief ACP Khairi Ahrasa confirmed that police have received the report but refused to comment on the case since it is still being investigated.

NOT UNEXPECTED

BN CAN DO ANYTHING IN THIS BOLEHLAND.....MURDERS/LAND LAUNDERING LIKE IN RECENT CASES IN SARAWAK & SABAH....AND GET AWAY WITH THEM.

DAILY NEWS OF THESE HAPPENINGS MAKE ONE SICK TO THE STOMACH !!!!!!

COME ON,MALAYSIANS WAKE UP..........VOTE TO CHANGE THESE BN BASTARDS !!!!

As usual, those pro-UNNO; Polis Pisang Raja Malaysia, MACCibai and even federal cangaroo court will work closely like abang-adik to throw the case out for the the reason of lack of evidence.

1Malaysial (middle finger).

If we were to make a personal search of those ministers and politicians of their private lives outside from the family,90% of them them are not fit as law makers for the despicable character. How can we have a deputy minister getting involved in prostitution by providing them with prostitutes at private clubs.
No wonder we have so many weird news in the press due to those responsible politicians who donottake responsibilities to ensure laws are enforced and improved when the need arises. The question is why do they want to become a politician? The rakyat have a very clear answer especially when politicians join the BN . They have the opportunity to...
