BN and Pakatan are now controlled by Chinese parties – Ibrahim Ali

Datuk Ibrahim Ali, the president of Malay rights group Perkasa has yet again try to draw the anger of the Chinese community where he now claims that both the parties in the political divide of BN (Barisan Nasional) and PR (Pakatan Rakyat) are controlled by Chinese parties. This came in the recent events where leaders in Umno came out to reject Perkasa and their leader. To this, Ibrahim said that Umno’s move not to be associate themselves with Perkasa marked the end of the Malay dominance in BN and that they will turn into another Pakatan which he said is ‘dominated’ by DAP.

He said “DAP has been fooling PAS and PKR. Now MCA and Gerakan are fooling Umno. Soi Lek and MCA have said that it is not wrong for MCA to work with DAP on issues affecting the Chinese community. Umno leaders must be very smart to distance itself from Umno.” He also hit out at Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, the secretary-general of MCA who said that Perkasa was extremist and a xenophobic group. To this, Ibrahim said “Has he condemned the Chinese demand for an end to Bumiputera quotas as being racist or unconstitutional? Perkasa fights for and defend Malay and Bumiputera rights as enshrined in the Constitution. We have also said that the non-Malay interests as mentioned in the Constitution should also be protected. o, what’s extremist or racist about that? I take care of the Chinese in my constituency. I organise functions and present aid to needy Chinese in the constituency from time to time,”

IGP says Sosilawati probe considered solved

Policemen leading one of those arresteed in the murder case

The police and the Attorney-General’s Chambers have begun preparing charges against the seven suspects detained for the murder of cosmetics millionaire Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and her three companions.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Ismail Omar said today he considered the case solved and commended CID Director Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin, his deputy Datuk Hadi Ho Abdullah and police detectives involved in apprehending the suspects, The Star reported in its online edition.

However, he cautioned the press not to speculate that something was wrong if charges are not brought against the suspects soon as the police wanted to first make sure that the case was airtight.

A Datuk and his brother — both believed to be lawyers — and five others have been arrested in connection with the case following the discovery of four charred bodies at a poultry farm in Tanjung Sepat, Morib.

The bodies are believed to be Sosilawati, 47, her driver Kamaruddin Shamsudin, 44, CIMB Kampung Baru officer Noorhisham Mohammad, 38, and lawyer Ahmad Kamil Abdul Karim, 32, who were reported missing since August 30 after going to Banting, Selangor, for a land purchase matter.

Bakri said over the weekend that police were still trying to obtain forensic confirmation to identify the dead, revealing that the four were set ablaze and their ashes scattered into a river near Ladang Gadong in Tanjung Sepat near here.

The suspects, aged between 19 and 41, are being held at the Bukit Jalil police lockup in Kuala Lumpur, Bakri revealed. It was learnt that police have obtained seven-day remand orders to facilitate investigations into the case.

Ismail also said that the police had formed a task force to investigate all missing persons linked to the lawyers, said to number between four and 17, based on statements given by the suspects.

He added that all missing person reports must be investigated immediately and thoroughly to avoid similar incidents in future, and admitted that Sosilawati’s death could have been prevented if fast action had been taken.

“I have already instructed my men that there should be no more slacking. Those caught slacking or ignoring missing persons reports will be severely reprimanded,” he said.

Did our new IGP really admit that theis murder case could have been prevented....and go on to imply that it was the police's past inaction/lack-of-action/slacking in investigating other missing persons that resulted in this foursome-murder ???!!! Or is it mis-reporting again???

If he really said it then I must add that .....it takes a MAN to admit this, although unfortunately, it took 4 deaths to make the people-in-charge wake up and start doing what they damned ought to have been doing in the first place -investigate ALL missing-persons reports with ernestness. Maybe it's becos this one involved a high-profile millionaire. What a shame.

Condolences to the families of all the deceased.

You can find an abandoned car and the police will ask you to drive it to the station and without even the police coming to the scene. In the evening they will tell you that you can take the car back. No dusting, no checking. It happened to us after we lodged a missing person's report a few years back and was alerted by a security guard that the car was near his workplace. The missing person has not been found yet. Probably the case will be closed and recorded as solved after we find the body of the missing person. So much for police investigation!!!

As awful as it sounds, we have to be thankful that the killers overstretched themselves and finally killed someone as high-profile as Sosilawati. If they had been more disciplined and restricted their victims to untitled ordinary folk or foreigners like that old friend from Chennai, they would have been allowed to continue their killing spree.

What I also find amazing is that CID Director Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin admitted that these two main suspects have been connected to four other missing person cases. Wow, four... and the police couldn't nail them!

Clearly, this case reeks of incompetence and oversight. I would even suggest indifference, because the police has probably been paid off all this time to look another way! Think about it. How else can the police explain how they took such a short time to "solve" the case – they already knew who was responsible and exactly where to start digging....!

The IGP should not close the files so easily.
Remember they still have to be convicted and things can go wrong in the courts.
The PDRM has done a good job in this case and the motive appears clear and convincing.

What about the Altantuya case? The henchmen has been caught. What was their motive? Who was the mastermind? Who gave the orders? How could they get the C4? For the sake of this nation, PDRM you must let the public know the whole truth. Don't hide it. Dont lose your integrity on this matter.

we had 2 guys convicted and the motive was never established - furthermore they always attended court with a hood so the public never got to see their faces. Is that not worrisome?

Sosilawati case: New findings in Sungai Panchau

The police forensic team today found more objects in Sungai Panchau, here, which could shed more light on the murders of cosmetics queen Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and three others.

The police team who began their investigation today at 3.30pm was seen holding some objects believed to include a bundle of bone pieces.

Media members covering the case were not allowed to get close to the investigation site but about 100 metres away until the operation ended at 5.30pm.

The police have also put up a canvas screen at the investigation site, making it difficult for the media members to see what was going on and the objects brought out of the stream.

However, they could see some policemen scouring the stream which was almost knee-high.

Also seen at the investigation site was the police Forensic Department director Datuk Abdul Malek Harun.

Prior to the latest find, the forensic team had recovered pieces of bones from the river on Sunday.

Besides Sosilawati, the others who were reported murdered and burned to ashes were her personal driver Kamarudin Shansudin, 44, lawyer Ahmad Kamil Abdul Karim, 32, and bank officer Noorhisham Mohammad, 38. — Bernama

i wish they would pursue the killers of Altantuya and bring to justice the culprits the same way they did to Sosilawati. Surely there must be someone who ordered the killing of Altantuya. The special action squad and the inspector were under orders from their superior

I pray that police and AG will not screw up this case. Please get private lawyers help so that justice will be done and tharwtered.

Eh... Sosilawati's murder is taking up so much of the news that we forgot about the racist headmistress/teacher? You think it's a conspiracy?

Azmin confirms bid for PKR No. 2 spot

Azmin (at rostrum) announces his candidacy for the PKR deputy presidency during a press conference today.

PKR vice-president Azmin Ali officially announced his decision today to contest the party’s deputy presidency in its upcoming polls, setting the stage for a likely battle with Datuk Zaid Ibrahim for eventual control of PKR.

The Gombak MP also said that he would back Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the party president, with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the de facto leader.

Azmin indicated that he fulfilled the criteria set by outgoing deputy president Dr Syed Husin Ali, which included having “high moral values.”

Syed Husin had announced on Tuesday that he would not seek re-election.

“After taking into account the views of senior leaders and party members and following direct discussion with Dr Syed Husin Ali, I, in all humility, wish to offer myself for the position,” said Azmin in an announcement in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, purportedly a stronghold of likely challenger, Zaid.

Azmin also thanked Syed Husin for his contributions to the party and in upholding justice and human rights.

“Dr Syed Husin Ali has been consistent in the struggle. His determination will continue to be the source of inspiration for all party members,” said Azmin.

“(He) has outlined the qualities that must be possessed by party leaders which include loyalty to the struggle; respect [for] party discipline; [consistency] in fighting corruption; and [subscription] to high moral values, which must be accepted by all party members,” he added.

The Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman, Anwar’s aide when the latter was in the government, has received the support of 20 PKR MPs and the majority of state lawmakers in Negri Sembilan and Selangor.

PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Akin, who is expected to announce his decision to contest one of the four vice-presidents’ posts today, has also backed Azmin to be PKR’s No 2.

While Zaid, also a PKR supreme council member, has been touted as Azmin’s most likely competition for the post, the former has not received any endorsement from any senior party leader. He is, however, said to be popular among Sabah and Sarawak PKR members as well as the non-Malay members in the mainland.

The former de facto law minister has also been pushing Anwar to contest the party presidency in order to legitimise his position as PKR leader.

Anwar had said that he would decline nominations for any party position.

Nominations for national posts and divisional meetings begin this weekend.

The party’s 218 divisions will hold two separate meetings; one for the annual general meeting and election of divisional leaders, and a second meeting to vote for national leaders.

The divisions will vote for national leaders on weekends, from October 29 to November 21.

What a foolish and selfish decision! While division leaders may be in favour of Azmin, the majority of grass roots prefer Zaid...a thinking man who is first Malaysian and then Malay. You know Azmin, this contest just might be what the BN wants...an election that rips the party apart.. UMNO '87 elections come to mind. So be it. Be eternally remembered as the man who destroyed a promising party and opposition. Que Sera sera.

The wayang of Umno,Perkasa and Utusan is at its height....
Fight a clean battle because if PKR is broken into pieces during this party election. A SNAP GENERAL ELECTION WILL TAKE PLACE....my prediction.

They need to be reminded who its owners are - Khairy slams Utusan

Khairy Jamaluddin, the Umno Youth Chief has hit out at the Umno owned newspaper Utusan Malaysia who recently published its support for Malay rights group Perkasa. In recent events, leaders in Umno has come out to reject Perkasa and its outspoken president Datuk Ibrahim Ali but former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his son Datuk Mukhriz Mohamad have both been supportive. Utusan too have been publishing articles that defended Perkasa.

Khairy wrote on his Tweeter site where he wrote that he “thinks a particular newspaper needs to be reminded who its owners are. I'm advocate for reforms towards a free and responsible press but while in present paradigm, I can't accept editorial line of particular daily,”

Umno never promoted ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ – MCA President

Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, the president of MCA has come out to say a few words of Umno saying that the party had never preached the ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ concept as constantly promoted by Malay rights group Perkasa. This came about a few days after Umno leaders came out in public to reject the movement and its outspoken leader Datuk Ibrahim Ali.

He said “In my association or the MCA’s association with Umno, I have never heard of any Umno leader who says that the Malays are more superior than the non-Malays. No.” He was also commenting on the remarks made by Lee Kuan Yew, the founding father of Singapore on his views of the race relations of Malaysia. Dr Chua said “We respect the view of Lee Kuan Yew. He is entitled to say... he is a very senior statesman. There is intense competition between all the political parties in order to gain support.... and in a multi-racial country like Malaysia, race would be a very easy issue to be used for support. I don’t think it is fair to say Malay leaders always harp on the fact that the Malay race is superior. I don’t think so. I think they are only the minorities of the minorities who harp that the Malays are superior. This is the tactic of the opposition to make Umno look bad. What we do here is that because the Malays are Bumiputeras and economically, they are not on par with the other non-Malays and they continue to require affirmative action... and that is the reason why we say affirmative action should be based on needs and merits. If it is based on needs and merits, then if the Malays are poor either economically or are academically backward, then they can still continue to receive help from the government.... because they are poor,”

On former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s support for Perkasa, Dr Chua said “I think in a democratic country, people are entitled to their own opinion. In no country that practices democracy, 100 per cent of their people talk in the same tune. Dr Mahathir is also an elder statesmen... we respect his view, he is entitled to his views (but) I could hold on more to the views of the current Prime Minister. I would say it has greater relevance to us because he is the number one in the country,”

CHUA SOIL LEG...!!
as a president..!! what have you done to MCA..!! How we chinese hates MCA for so many years now..!!

You are a traitor (running dog) to the chinese..!! We expect you to fight for the rights of the chinese but you end up fighting for yourself and for the sake of your superior party..!!

You're liar..!! You are indeed "Chow Yun Fatt".
How can Umno not promote "ketuanan melayu" when it had been promoting it for the last 50years..!!

You must really really really think we malaysians are stupid and dumb... right..!!
Come election..!! you will see the fall of MCA because we the chinese of malaysia will vote you out in every corner of the nation..!!

You can bark all you want like our MT dog here... pukimak mami baruah..!!
BARKING DOGS DONT BITE..!! Its the quiet ones that kills..!!

For sure UMNO did not mention about SUPREMACY RACE, but actions for the past 53 years could tell a thousand words. To help the poor stricken Malays, we should give room for them to breathe to catch up with others. Does CSL realise that there are many squatters temporarily putting up in swampy illegal land with thrown away galvanised roofing sheets.? Did MCA go to these places to give help to those squatters who suffered in silence? What have MCA done as a party in BN for the Chinese as a party looking after the welfare of the Chinese in Malaysia? I dont' like to use that sentence because I got boiled when I read his statement.

The time will be up as voter gets voter is singing loud and clear and every sensible person can give the affirmative answer .......CHANGE ....as we love our country for the sake of our children and grandchildren.

MCA rejects Dr M’s claim that Umno needs Perkasa

Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, the secretary-general of MCA has hit out at former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for his recent remark that called on Umno to support Malay rights group Perkasa instead of rejecting it and that the largest component party in BN (Barisan Nasional) would need Perkasa if they want to keep their support among the Malays.
Kong said “We regret to read the remarks by a prominent public figure who claims that Umno needs backing from Perkasa if it does not want to risk BN losing support. BN does not consist of only one political party, but is an alliance which comprises various political parties representing all the ethnic groups in Malaysia. Hence, BN thrives on the support rendered by every race, not only from the Malays,”

This came in the wake of recent reports where leaders of Umno came out to reject Perkasa and its leader Datuk Ibrahim Ali of which Dr Mahathir, together with his son, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir claimed otherwise. Kong added that “Any form of linkage with extremist groups will incur a loss in vote count against the BN. Thus, BN should not compromise nor tolerate any racist group or extremist comments by any individual or group from permeating. As a responsible political alliance which prioritises the country’s harmony, peace and security above all else, BN will ensure that the future of Malaysia will not be sacrificed through the regressive and flawed racial outlooks of Perkasa,”

Whether Amno need Perkosa ka or Perkosa need Amno is not important lah, after all both are from the 'reject shop' and both are irrelevant.

With both of them rejected by both in the goverment and the opposition, what else can these two fellow do ? Saving their ugly face is the only way out and what a better way than to forge allegiance to try their luck . We should leave them alone to die their natural death instead of having to worry for something which is totally irrelevant nor of any significance to society !

Anwar skeptical about Umno’s rejection of Perkasa

Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is not certain about the recent move by the leaders in BN (Barisan Nasional) and particularly Umno who came out in unity to reject Malay rights group Perkasa. He is skeptical about the recent statements made by the leaders of the biggest component party in BN saying that “Umno needs to explain. Is this policy or is this political expediency,”

He added that “It was Umno which built up the Malay rights group to what it is. They endorsed, they gave facilities and they gave support to Perkasa,” Anwar also commented on the support given by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for Perkasa where he said “He is trying to make himself relevant,”

I wonder whether it is just another sandiwara or maybe it is true that umno is rejecting perkasa..!!
