Delay in GST bill not victory for opposition – Mukhriz and Hishammuddin

After much protest and objections from the opposition front and some from within the ruling administration, the BN (Barisan Nasional) leaders have come out to support and defend the GST (Goods and Services Tax). The tabling of the bill was delayed and this has been widely used by the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to hit out at BN. To this, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, the Home Minister said that the delay does not constitute any form of victory for Pakatan Rakyat. He said “Well, they can say whatever they want. They can say it’s a victory but the reality is when the announcement was made, the move was well-received by many. So it’s their job to gain political mileage in anything that we do. It’s nothing new,”

Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, the Deputy Minister of International Trade Minister Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir also laughed off the victory claim, very much the same as what Hishammuddin did where he said “The opposition often don’t ‘have anything good to say about what the government does.’ When we are looking into details, then they say we are having second thoughts, but when we rush into things they say we’re doing it too fast. Which is it? It seems to me they don’t have anything good to say about what the government does. I still feel that it’s (GST) one of the important methods that should be introduced by the government in terms of how to increase revenue,”

GST is not going to help the poor. How can the average Malaysian survive. Your economy is not stable Joe, what is your game? You can laugh all you want, but the opposition is right this time and its not a joke.
