Altantuya: Call for Royal Commission

altantuya n balaPakatan Rakyat senior leaders want a Royal Commission of Inquiry to probe a cover up of events surrounding the murder of Altantuya Shariibbu following the latest revelations of private investigator P.Balasubramaniam.

“It is time to set up a RCI (Royal Commission of Inquiry) which can probe this whole episode in a fair and independent manner in the name of justice not just for Altantuya but also Bala,” said Xavier Jayakumar of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (National Justice Party) said.

Xavier said there were still too many unanswered questions with regard to Altantuya murder in October 2006.

“There has to be an independent investigation and this can only happen by tabling a White paper in Parliament and having a Royal Commission of Inquiry,” Xavier said.

Lawyer Sivarasa Rasiah, another member of the party’s executive council, echoed Xavier’s views and said an independent investigation, including into the alleged links between Prime Minister Najib Razak and Altantuya was “paramount “.

“Bala is a key witness in this whole episode. There is evidence to show he was forced to retract his first SD and now he himself is saying he was offered money to do it,” Siva said. “We need to get to the bottom of the matter and the best way is to have a Royal Commission of Inquiry.

PAS vice-president Sallehuddin Ayob said Bala’s latest testimony clearly showed that a Royal Commission was appropriate to uncover the truth regarding the Scopene deal and the murder of the Mongolian .

He also said there was enough evidence from Bala to re-open criminal investigations into the murder.

“For the of sake of justice to be done, the case should be re-opened. It is very clear that there are grounds for the Attorney-General to order a review,” he said.

DAP Publicity Secretary Teresa Kok said Najib should be more forthcoming about his involvement in the whole episode.

“If there are such allegations by Bala, then as Prime Minister Najib Razak is duty bound to explain from A to Z,” he said.

Bala was hired by political strategist Abdul Razak Baginda, an aide of Prime Minister Najib to check on Mongolian model Altantuya when she arrived in Malaysia to confront Razak over RM500,000 commissions in the French-Scopene submarine deal .

Bala went missing on July 4 last year, a day after releasing a second statutory declaration refuting his first issued the day before, in which he exposed alleged links between Najib and Altantuya who was the lover of Razak.

In the first part of the interview, filmed overseas, Bala said he was offered RM5 million by a carpet businessman named Deepak, who is said to be an associate of Rosmah Mansor, wife of Prime Minister Najib Razak .

A search with the Registrar of Companies lists Deepak Jaikishan as a director of Carpet Raya Sdn Bhd with registered addresses in Ampang, Selangor and Cheras Kuala Lumpur.

The company reportedly recorded an income of RM122million.

Efforts to contact Deepak for comment were unsuccessful.

Some parties have alluded Deepak as a “Mr Fix-it” who carries out certain tasks for Rosmah from time to time.

Mind my words; this whole episode is going down the drain.
Once again, however much we want to put forward will certainly disappear into thin air. We have witnessed what has happened to the other cases whereby hot air is created by all sides and, slowly but surely, the particular case just disappears into thin air, as if nothing has happened.
The very powerful people behind all these, grip it so tight that we cannot do anything. Power is still in their hands…

Royal Commission? How much commission are you talking about? Be real all you guys (lawyers).

Let's get the outcome of Lingam Royal Commission; where is the action? What a Lingam koyak Commission? It is a waste of commission ($$$).

Another one, TBH. Even the Royal Commission is restricted to perform certain selected 'tasks' only. What a joke. Funny you guys even mentioned setting up Royal (koyak) Commission.

Porah!

This murder case is very badly handled by the justice system we have. I sure would like to know why & who authorised the elimination of the victim's immigration records & why was the photo given to PDRM disappeared. Why wasn't such pertinent info investigated??? If power to corrupt is present we must get to the bottom of such abuses.

Najib is heading to Singapore for APEC ... with his blood-stained hands now exposed, let's see how many world leaders are going to use disinfectant after shaking his hand!

It is H1N1 -- Homicide 1, Necrophilia 1

How quickly people forget

The SD made by private investigator P. Balasubramaniam linking Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak with Mongolian Altantuya Shaaribu, cannot be withdrawn, says Bar Council President Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan. She said the statutory declaration was made in accordance with the procedure and sealed by a Commissioner of Oaths.

Now you know why we come out with this revelation in series. Most Malaysians have short memories and can only absorb a limited amount of information at one time. Give them too much in one go and they can’t focus and start going off in the wrong direction. So we have to give this information in small bits and pieces and allow it time to sink in before you offer them more.

Must be something about this mother-tongue education and the teaching of English in Bahasa Malaysia and all that.

Anyway, before you make further comments and start looking like idiots, or even more of an idiot, maybe you should recap what has been said and written before.

Take note you can’t retract a Statutory Declaration (like they said Bala did but actually did not) and if Bala has made a false declaration (like the government says he did) then the government has to charge him (like they did me) instead of promising him RM5 million (like they did me).

Why Balasubramaniam's First Declaration Is Still Significant

(Malik Imtiaz Sarwar, 4 July 2008) - P Balasubramaniam has made an about turn and released a new statutory declaration. From media reports, it appears that he claims that those parts of his original Statutory Declaration that pertained to the Deputy Prime Minister were made under duress.

He has not been forthcoming with particulars of his purported duress. This is unfortunate as it raises many questions that the Malaysian public is deserving of answers to. As I understand it, the inflicting of duress in law requires the subjecting of a person to the kind of treatment that would leave that person with no doubt that he or someone close to him would be in grave danger, life and limb, unless that person cooperated with the person inflicting duress.

Is Balasubramaniam saying that representatives of Keadilan inflicted duress or that his previous lawyer did? We cannot overlook the statement given by Anwar Ibrahim at the same press conference yesterday in he explained how Balasubramaniam had come to make the Statutory Declaration. From this perspective, the accusation of duress is not a trivial one as it carries grave implications and consequences.

In the same vein, if in fact the police were in contact with Balasubramaniam yesterday, after the press conference at which he released his original (and now retracted) Statutory Declaration as the media suggests, the police should also make it clear to the rakyat what it is that transpired, if only to clear up any doubt as to the circumstances in which Balasubramaniam retracted his original statement.

I say this because the original Statutory Declaration was itself of grave importance and carried with serious implications. I have noted that some writers have been quick to question or dismiss the value of the original Statutory Declaration for it allegedly being hearsay, or put another way, containing only second hand information not directly within the knowledge of Balasubramaniam.

I do not share this view. Allow me to explain why.

The law requires direct evidence of a fact. Second-hand knowledge is considered to be unreliable. However it does not follow that ‘hearsay’ evidence is not admissible or irrelevant in all cases. Evidence is multi-faceted and is never merely proof of one fact. Considered from different angles, a single piece of evidence may tell more than one story.

For example, A tells B that A had stolen some money. B then tells C. C’s evidence of the conversation is not admissible as an admission by A or as proof of theft. Put another way, A could not be convicted purely on the say so of C. Evidence of A having committed the theft would have to be put before the court, in one form or the other. This is the essence of the hearsay rule.

However, this does not mean that the fact of B telling C is of no relevance. The fact is that A and B had that conversation and though C’s evidence may not be able to establish the truth of what was told to him by B, it can establish that such a conversation took place. The law permits this. If admitted, such evidence could be considered as ‘circumstantial evidence’.

Seen in this light, it is clear that the original Statutory Declaration was of great significance. In it Balasubramaniam categorically stated that he gave information to the police about the conversations he had had with Razak Baginda and Altantuya AND that such information was excluded from his statement AND that the Prosecution did not ask him any questions about this aspect of the information he gave to the police. These pieces of evidence were not hearsay as they were matters directly within the knowledge of Balasubramaniam. They were also manifestly relevant.

Additionally, for the reasons explained above, the fact of the conversations between Balasubramaniam and Razak Baginda and Altantuya respectively were also of relevance for equally suggesting an alternative or additional line of enquiry that the police ought to have looked into but apparently did not.

The about-turn and the possible, though as yet uncertain, involvement of the police do not do any good for the already seriously undermined confidence of the rakyat in the justice system.

We deserve better.

Bala's original SD stands: Bar

(Daily Express, 5 July 2008) - The SD made by private investigator P.

"A statutory declaration is a document that contains evidence given on oath.

It is sworn before a Commissioner for Oaths. As in the case of all evidence given under oath, it cannot be withdrawn," she said.

However, she said, a statutory declaration could be supplemented or corrected. "... and just as in the case a witness giving false evidence in court, anyone who swears a false declaration can commit an offence," she said when contacted.

Balasubramaniam, who had testified in the Altantuya murder trial, called a news conference on Thursday to reveal his 16-page statutory declaration dated July 1, containing allegations about the slain Mongolian's involvement with Najib.

However, at 11.30am Friday, Balasubramaniam announced that he was retracting the entire statutory declaration. He also issued a new declaration in which he said that his previous statements were inaccurate and not the truth.

Meanwhile, lawyer Datuk Hazman Ahmad, who is representing Chief Insp Azilah Hadri, the first accused in the Altantuya murder case, said Balasubramaniam had the right to substitute his previous statutory declaration with a new one.

"He doesn't need to go through court process to come up with a new statutory declaration, but the question is, what is the status of the previous declaration? Is this amounting to cheating? It's up to the Attorney-General to take action," he said when contacted.

Lawyer Hasnal Redzua Marican, who is representing Corporal Sirul Azhar Omar, the second accused in the same case, said there were no provisions under which the statutory declaration could be retracted.

Lawyer Amer Hamzah Arsyad described Balasubramaniam's action as inappropriate as if he was making a mockery of the country's laws. He said the former policeman should have been firm with his allegations.

Bala told all six months ago: Nephews

(The Sun Daily, July 7, 2008) : The nephews of missing private investigator P. Balasubramaniam claimed today that their uncle had revealed to them months earlier all the details he had stated in his first statutory declaration (SD) which alleged that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had links with murdered Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Brothers R.Kumaresan, 27, and Segar, 24, of Batu Caves said their uncle had shared with them about what he had mentioned in his first SD about six months earlier, and they believed he would one day make it public.

Kumaresan, an information technology (IT) professional said his uncle had expressed relief after he made his first statutory declaration public on Thursday but what he did the next day by denying it had shocked the siblings.

Balasubramaniam who had made public his first SD on Thursday based on what political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda -- one of the accused in the Alatantuya murder case -- had told him, on Friday retracted his allegations via a second SD, claiming his first SD had been made under duress.

The brothers spoke to reporters at the Gombak district police headquarters with their lawyer R.Surendran yesterday after giving a statement to investigators over a police report he lodged on the disappearance of his uncle, aunt and three cousins on Saturday.

"He claimed he made the first SD under duress, but from the expression on his face on that day, it was clear that he was not, everyone could see that," said Kumaresan.

"But when he retracted the SD and replaced it with another the next day, the expression on his face showed that he was really under duress. Compare his face on the first day with the second day.

"We are very close to our uncle and know him very well. There is no way he would have disappeared like this without informing us first." he said adding that his family strongly believe Balasubramaniam and his family had not gone into hiding but are being detained at an unknown location.

Kumaresan said had his uncle planned to go into hiding or feared for his safety, he would have done so on the very first day, after making the first statuatory declaration.

"But everything was normal after he made the statement on Thursday; and then Friday he goes missing with his family." he said.

Kumaresan said he also had no idea of who M Arulampalam, the lawyer who accompanied his uncle when he made the second SD is.

"We are worried about their safety. My aunt is a like mother-figure to me. I do not even know if they are still alive." he said.

Segar, an engineer said his uncle had also handed him an envelope two days before he made his first SD and told him to pass it to Kumaresan.

"He told me to tell Kumarasen to open it two days later but after he made public his first SD, we opened it and found that it was a copy of the SD," he said.

Meanwhile lawyer R.Surendran said the main concern of Kumaresan and Segar was the safety of his uncle and his family and not the statutory declarations he had made.

"I hope the police will look more into the angle that Balasubramaniam may be held against his will, as it does not seem that he has gone into hiding." he added.

Although shocking revelations by Bala were widely reported in the international media, not a single word was mentioned at all by the local TV, radio, and mainstream newspapers. This is their so-called professionalism of journalism. It proves that their sole's purpose of existence is to serve their masters UMNO-BN.

Even if Bala reiterates his 1st SD, it is his word against Najib's. It is actually 2 against 1 since he still needs to fight against his own 2nd SD.

Malaysians need to do what they have been doing all this while. They need to blacken Najib's name with or without Bala's SD (the SD helps, of course). This is because UMNO is thick skinned and dictatorial. That is why talking alone is not as effective as walking the talk, but it still helps nonetheless.

So TQ Bala for coming out and clearing the air about your SDs. Join the club of those against UMNO's dictatorial regime. Hope you can contribute more of course.

If UMNO can ignore the Perak Constitution, they can ignore Bala's SD. Anyway, his 2nd SD also still stands. Bala needs to come up with more solid proof. As a PI and former police officer, he should know that. Does he not have more solid proof?

"I hope the police will look more into the angle that Balasubramaniam may be held against his will, as it does not seem that he has gone into hiding."

My advice to all rakyat: The police should be the last resort; never never never trust them. If you leave it up to the police then it is as good as throwing it all away into the deep deep blue sea.

Remember the police are the running dogs of UMNO/BN; they are acknowledged to be the most corrupt of all government institutions in the country.

Come time for change in government the police is the first to be overhauled starting with the most top corrupt MOOOOSA.

PI Bala claims offered RM5m to retract statement

Missing private investigator P. Balasubramaniam has claimed in a video clip that he was offered RM5 million to retract his statutory declaration that linked Datuk Seri Najib Razak to murdered Mongolian model Altantuya Shaaribuu, reigniting allegations that the prime minister has vehemently denied.

Balasubramaniam's claims were aired in an undated 88-second video clip today hosted by the Malaysia-Today.net website whose main contributor is the fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin. The first statutory declaration (SD) was also put up with the video clip.

"Deepak actually came to see me because he want me to retract my first SD... After that he offered me RM5 million for me to retract the SD," Balasubramaniam said in the video clip, referring to a person whom Raja Petra says is linked to Najib's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

Balasubramaniam, a former police officer, disappeared with his family on July 4, 2008 after making a second SD that overturned the first declaration. His location remains unknown until now.

The Malaysia-Today.net website said there will be more video clips featuring the Balasubramaniam interview. In the first part, the private investigator also claimed he was asked to go to Putrajaya to meet certain individuals over his SD.

"He was asking me to go to Putrajaya with him but he never mentioned whom he wanted me to meet in Putrajaya," Balasubramaniam said, referring to the country's administrative capital.

Balasubramaniam's two SDs had rocked the murder trial of Altantuya, who was killed on Oct 19, 2006. Three people, including political and defence strategist Abdul Razak Baginda, were arrested for plotting her death.

Abdul Razak, who admitted to an affair with the Mongolian model who also acted as an interpreter, claimed he did not order her death but wanted the policemen to stop her from harassing or blackmailing him over their affair.

He was acquitted without his defence being called while the two policemen charged, Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar, were sentenced to the gallows for killing her.

Balasubramaniam was initially hired by Abdul Razak to keep watch over Altantuya's movements when she was in Kuala Lumpur to allegedly blackmail the political strategist, who is a known close associate of then Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Najib.

His first SD was announced in a press conference with opposition leaders on July 2, 2008 but a day later, he stunned the country when a different lawyer brandished a second SD that overturned the contents of the first declaration.

Balasubramaniam then went missing, according to his nephew who claims his uncle is now in an undisclosed location

I always assumed Bala retracted the first SD because he and/or his family were threatened. Let's hope there's no need to "read between the lines" if RP clarifies this point when he releases more of his conversation with Bala.

It would be stupid of him not to accept and jeopardize his family's safety. Even if you don't accept the bribe you would still have to retract and run. Would you not accept if you are threatened and bribed? He did the smart thing, accept and run first.

Opposition actually support 1 Malaysia concept, Muhyiddin claims

The 1 Malaysia concept mooted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has actually received the support of all strata of society including leaders of the opposition parties.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the people and opposition party leaders were aware and knew that the concept was not merely a political rhetoric but had been implemented as a new policy by the Barisan Nasional (BN) government.

“We have never heard the opposition rejecting the 1 Malaysia concept because they know it is not a rhetoric and now it has become a very influential tagline,” he said when launching the ‘Gerak Mesra 1 Malaysia BN Menang, Kedah Senang Campaign’ organised by the state BN, here today.

He said the people accepted the 1 Malaysia concept as a new approach by the government to liberalise the economy and implement social development.

He said the people were beginning to realise that the opposition pact that was administering several states, including Kedah, was now incapable of developing the states concerned.

Muhyiddin said he was worried over the inability of the current Kedah state government to continue with the projects planned by the BN-led state government previously and the people had to bear the consequences.

He said that when Kedah was under the BN rule, the state government had to seek aid from the federal government as Kedah did not have sufficient revenue to implement development projects.

“I fear that Kedah may become like Kelantan, the most backward state in Malaysia, Nik Aziz (Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat) only knows how to pray but does not know how to administer.

“That’s why when the people met me in Manek Urai, they requested for aid including to repair mosques and build bridges,” he said.

In this context, he urged all members and leaders of the BN component parties to redeem the losses in the states wrested by the opposition and regain the administration of these states.

Has this guy been sleeping or what? Nobody except Najib and him understands what 1Malaysia is. From Najib's perspective it means lets all hush up on the misadministration of the nation by UMNO. From Muhyiddin's perspective it means a verbal diarrhea of racist rants.

Now Muhyiddin fears "Kedah may become like Kelantan, the most backward state in Malaysia". MY FEAR, however, is that under UMNO Malaysia will be the most backward nation in Asia!

Muhiyaddin thought we are still stupid to believe what he said...Pakatan controlled states may not very developed because Federal govt gives little grant to them...but still we don't UMNO BN as we don't want a corrupted govt.

What is there to say except that UMNO/BN is run by mad men.
They don't give a damn what anyone says about them or what they say.
The electorate MUST boot them out of the government.

Pakatan loses suit against Perak State Secretary

The High Court here today struck out Pakatan Rakyat Speaker V. Sivakumar’s suit against Perak State Secretary Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Hashim for abuse of power, which was filed ahead of the controversial Sept 2 assembly sitting in a hotel here.

The case was struck out in the chambers of Judicial Commissioner Tarmizi Abd Rahman today after Sivakumar filed his affidavit in reply to the one filed in response to his suit by Abdul Rahman on Oct 15.

Lawyer Cheang Lek Choy, who represented Sivakumar, said the suit was “struck out with costs” after he emerged from chambers with Sivakumar and state legal adviser Datuk Ahmad Kamal Md Shahid, who represented Abdul Rahman.

The Malaysian Insider understands that Tarmizi had said Sivakumar had no locus standi to file the suit, in view of the fact that he was no longer the state assembly’s Speaker, a post with which he had used when he filed his summons in chambers on Sept 1.

Sivakumar had filed the summons one day before the Sept 2 sitting, seeking an ex-parte injunction against Abdul Rahman. The injunction was to stop Abdul Rahman from “abusing his power” and preventing Pakatan Rakyat representatives from convening the sitting inside the state assembly hall at the State Secretariat.

At the time, however, Judicial Commissioner Tarmizi refused to grant the injunction without providing reason but agreed to hear the application on Oct 1.

Seeing as the objective of the application had obviously failed, the judicial commissioner’s decision to hear the application was obviously an academic exercise.

On Sept 2, the PR representatives were stopped from entering the State Secretariat as expected and were forced to hold their sitting at the Heritage Hotel instead.

During the tumult outside the administrative building before the sitting, three assemblymen were arrested, including Sitiawan assemblyman Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham, Malim Nawar assemblyman K. Keshvinder Singh and Simpang Pulai assemblyman Chan Ming Kai.

In Sivakumar’s affidavit in response today, he said that as, according to Abdul Rahman’s affidavit, the latter had no right to claim that he (Sivakumar) was no longer the legal Speaker of Perak.

“The defendant’s duty as a civil servant does not encompass interfering with matters of the state assembly,” he said.

Sivakumar added that the High Court’s decision over the sacking and the appointment of the Perak Speaker could not be used to defend Abdul Rahman’s action of blocking elected state representatives from entering the assembly hall to conduct their business.

“The defendant also does not have the jurisdiction to determine if I have the right to summon an assembly sitting. This matter is outside his jurisdiction as a state civil servant,” said Sivakumar.

Sivakumar also submitted along with his affidavit, photographic evidence portraying Abdul Rahman’s lack of impartiality.

“The pictures submitted with this affidavit show that he had wrongfully conspired with Umno politicians to stop us from entering the state assembly hall.

“He is seen in the pictures in a meeting with Umno lawyers,” said Sivakumar

Cuepacs accepts govt decision not to give bonus

Cuepacs has accepted the government decision not to pay a bonus of two months’ salary to the 1.2 million civil servants this year after getting clarification from Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today.

Its president, Omar Osman said the Prime Minister, however, gave an assurance that he would look into the payment of an additional bonus of RM500 in the near future if the economic situation permitted it.

“The Prime Minister also gave an assurance that he would consider the payment of the two months’ bonus as requested by the congress if the country’s economic situation recovered later.

“This matter is under consideration by the Prime Minister, but in the near future we hope there is an addition of RM500 for civil servants to receive RM1,000 in December,” he told reporters after a meeting of about one hour with the Prime Minister at Parliament House, here today.

For civil servants with the rank of ‘Jusa’ and above, Omar said the Prime Minister also agreed to consider the request of the congress to allow an income tax reduction of up to 30 per cent.

Omar said that at the meeting, Najib explained that the government might have to borrow from other sources if it were to meet the demand of the congress.

Cuepacs had earlier requested that the government consider the payment of a bonus of two months’ salary for civil servants in the tabling of the 2010 Budget on Oct 23.

The government however announced that it would give a special payment of RM500 to government employees in grades 41-54 and its equivalent as well as government pensioners in December

At the meeting, the Prime Minister also agreed to increase the annual grant to Cuepacs to RM1 million beginning next year, he said. Last year, Cuepacs received RM350,000 to carry out its activities. – Bernama

Hishammuddin: Demonisation of police main cause of high crime rate

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein blamed the country's high crime rate on the demonisation of institutions such as the police.

He said this in Parliament yesterday evening, immediately drawing stinging criticisms from members of the Opposition.

"Institutions such as the police force are made to be seen as irresponsible, as bad when they are also at the same time just trying to do their jobs. Besides PDRM, the delay in the various trials and judging process is also one of the factors for the escalation of the nation's crime rate," said Hishammuddin.

He said one of the ways to deal with the matter is to speed up the legal process.

He also identified four major states in the country as havens for criminal activities — Penang, Selangor, the Federal Territory and Johor. However, he said that the crime wave in Selangor and the Federal Territory has gone down drastically due to measures taken by the ministry as well as the police.

Among these measures are the increase in police presence and surveillance in 50 identified hot spots (crime-riddled areas). This has apparently been effective in minimising the number of criminal cases.

Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua hit out at this plan, saying that while crime in the hot spots had indeed decreased, the crime wave in the other "peaceful" areas in the country had in effect increased as police officers from these stations were relocated to help assist those in the hot spot areas.

The government also plans to install CCTV cameras in several areas..

"Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) plans to install an additional 100 CCTV cameras to the existing 82 units in Kuala Lumpur by the year 2010. A total of 496 units will be installed by the Local Government Ministry (JKT) in all the states in Peninsular Malaysia," stated the Home Minister.

The police will also be given RM90 million to upgrade facilities and police stations throughout the country.

DAP secretary-general Lim Kit Siang lashed out at Hishammuddin for failing to provide a complete sense of security to the public.

"In the Home Ministry website there is an online poll which states 90 per cent of visitors to the site do not feel safe at all with regards to the crime rate in Malaysia.

"No one wants to politicise people's safety. We need to admit that this country's crime problem is serious," said Lim.

For the 1st time in Malaysia history, the Home Minister felt so insecured that he needed a senior police officer from Bukit Aman assigned to him !!! What more can we expect from him ?

In other democratic Countries, when a department head is incapable of doing his job, he would have to step down and apologize to the public! Taiwan is a very good example of this!

In Bolehland, when the Minister is not doing his job, yet he can open up his big mouth to spew all the humbugs! What a shame this Hisham to his 'father of unity'?! Hopelessly uncouth minister a lump of stinking bullshit!

Useless Offspring I beg to differ. It is simply the police plain efficiency, poor enforcement, poor deployment of man power (use to enforce against harmless protest), corruption and the practice of selective tutup mata are the causes of this Bolihland serious crime problem. And the police is demonise by the raayat because of the above reasons. This useless offspring with such low intelligence I wonder how he can be elected as a VP of UMNO and a member of his cousin's cabinet.

Hisahmuddin is a major embarrassment to Malaysia. For most people, one would advice counting to ten before speaking. Hishamuddin should count to a million and spare the country the shame.

The Police have a bad reputation which is well deserved. UMNO uses the Police as a political tool to suppress opposing views. The Police should not be involved in politics.

Unfortunately, most of the high posts in the Police are held by men without the strength of character to resist UMNO's misuse of the Police.

The rakyat suffers daily from corruption in the police. Most people do not even bother to report crimes because it is futile to expect the police to do anything.

But the Police appears to be super efficient when it comes to acting on Opposition figures. Keeping the peace and maintaining the safety of the public is very low on our Police priority.

For once in your miserable life, dear Hishamuddin please take the time to actually work on a problem and come out with more sensible and practical solutions to the problem. Changing the image of the police does not change anything in the quality of the police

Guan Eng should resign for 'not doing what he claimed' - Penang Umno Youth

Aziaan Ariffin, the treasurer of the Penang Umno Youth said that the state's movement is calling on Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to resign from his post for 'cakap tidak serupa bikin' or 'not doing what he claimed'. This as in regards of the issue of land conversions which was deliberated during the August state assembly sitting. Aziaan has called for Lim to clairfy on the mattter of the land ownership conversion.

According to reports, Muhammad Farid Saad, the Pulau Betong assemblyman has hit out at Lim saying that he has misled the assembly when he mentioned that the land status are not changed between April 2008 to June 2009 but then there were subsequen reports that the government has since approved a conversion of a piece of land in Georgetown. Aziaan said "As a state government leader who follows example of Khalifah Umar Abdul Aziz and who also practices the principles of competence, accountability and transparency (CAT), Lim needed to clarify regarding land ownership conversion. We (Umno Youth) have lost confidence in him, and therefore urge Lim to resign as he is not qualified to govern this state. What is his motive for hiding the approval from the people?,

UMNO people are real sour grapes. Just face the fact Penang belongs to opposition and its people. You can say or bark all you want, LGE will always look at people's best interest.

Morons.

All undemocratic malay nuisance organisation(umno) reps and leaders should take a look at themseves in the mirror first and realise that they are the biggest idiots of the nation before making any irrelevant allegations against others.

The locals in Penang including a majority of UMNO Puteras know for sure that LGE is doing a fine job as a CM in Penang and that this island state had never had a CM as competent as LGE.

UMNO youth know that if they keep quiet and endorse the efficiency of LGE, they are heading towards doom in the next GE. So, inorder to impress upon the UMNO youth members and also UMNO in general, they have to say something negative about LGE to keep themselves afloat in UMNO.

UMNO youth are all clamouring to become the champion of the Malays without realising that all they can is to criticise and criticise. Ask a Penangite on the success of LGE as the CM of Penang and they will all give you a thumbs up.

No submarine underwater rides for MPs - Defence Minister tells Backbencher

Datuk Mohd Jidin Shafee, the BN representative of Setiu and a member of the BN Backbenchers' Club suggested that members of parliament should be given a ride in the country's first submarine, the KD Tunku Abdul Rahman so that tehy will get a clearer picture of what the Defence Ministry had purchased.

The ministry recently bought the 2 Scorpene submarines totaling to RM3.4 billion which drew some protests from various quarters. Datuk Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the Defence Minister then replied that the submarines are not vehicles that any ordinary person can ride in and only those with high resilience and specially trained like the crewmen in the submarine could endure. He said "Not everyone can handle the ride. I can try to arrange for MPs to be allowed to enter the submarine but I cannot promise that they will be taken for an underwater sight-seeing because it's going to be quite a tough ride,"

Please can we send all the BN cronies for an underwater trip, without a submarine, without an oxygen tank and only a an anchor tied to their bodies so they can be kept down forat least 15 mins?

WE NEVER HEAR OBAMA AND HIS TEAM GOING INTO A SPACE RIDE WITH NASA TEAM

HERE WE ARE A 4TH WORLD MENTALITY WITH 1ST CLASS FACILITIES!!!

THE PPL'S MONEY, AND THEY ARE GOING FOR UNDERWATER RIDES, I DONT THINK PAKATAN MPs ARE INTERESTED IN THIS STUPID IDEA. ITS FOR PROTECTING THE COUNTRY'S SOVEREIGNTY, YET WE HAVE UMNO GOONS WANTING TO GO FOR RIDES

HEY, WELCOME TO SEA WORLD...SEE PENGUIN WIFE OF NAJIS AS THE MAIN STAR WHEN UR IN THAT SUBMARINE, UMNO BOYS!!!

Imagine how much they had made from the purchase of KD-KD Altantuya. Now their BN reps want to get a joy ride on it. Zahid will need to ask Najib whether its ok or not.He should suggest to Najib to extensively charge every reps that intends to go for the joy ride because every cost and expenses of the submarine comes from the public's hard earn income.

Federal Govt shortchanging Selangor people – Khalid Ibrahim

Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, the Menteri Besar of has slammed the Federal Government for ‘shortchanging’ the people in the state where they are receiving more than they are giving. Khalid said "Out of the over RM600 million paid by Selangor people in taxes, the federal government is only granting us RM400 million in total for development," Haniza Mohamed Talha, the state assemblyperson of Taman Medan asked the question on restrictions imposed by the federal government on the Selangor state government when granting funds where Khalid added that “The state government has no powers to collect revenue from customs or company taxes but have to rely on the RM200 million "capitation grant" from the federal government. If the RM200 million is divided among the state's five million population, each would only get RM40 annually which amounts to RM4 a month.”

"What is important is the economy and not politics," citing a minister whom he did not mention where he laid ground works to build a bridge for a rural area but did not complete the project, he said "The bridge is not there. Stones have been placed but we do not know where they went. This burdens the economy,"

Helicopters to replace Nuri not finalized yet, Eurocopter not considered

According to Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad, the Deputy Defence Minister, the government has yet to decide on the purchase of new helicopters to replace the ageing Nuris and that the ministry is still considering the capabilities of helicopters which can search and rescue. He was replying to Mohd Nizar Zakaria, the BN representative of Parit who wanted to know if the defence system in the country is up to date. Abdul Latiff said "We will look into various aspects including the country's economic situation so that the acquisition will be within our means," in his reply to Dr Tan Seng Giaw, the DAP representative of Kepong, Abdul Lattiff said “The current 20 Nuri helicopters could continue operating until 2015 as they were regularly maintained. The government is aware that the Nuri helicopters have limited capacity to mount search and rescue operations especially at night. But they are well-maintained and are airworthy until 2015. So there is really no hurry,"

It was reported last year that the Defence Ministry, which was then under the administration of Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi were to purchase some 12 Eurocopter EC725 totaling to RM1.6billiong but was then deferred after it hit some protests for the choice.

Wah, Zahidi must be smiling and grinning as there is gonna be a big ang pow soon!

Zahid and Najib must be busy locating a more costly helicopter to satisfy their needs and other(UMNO) partners involved while trying to create a better reasoning for a bigger buy/allocation.

Charge anyone who own even 1 pirated VCD - Minister

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism said that the government is currently considering if action would be taken against anyone who owns pirated media and that is even if it is only 1 VCD. The proposal includes taking action against people who are using them for private use. He said “This was because under the Copyright Act 1987 only a person who has three or more VCDs can be acted against. Under the act now, any person who has one pirated VCD is not guilty, but if the person owns more than three action can be taken.” He said that "My personal view is that if a person owns a pirated VCD that's an offence, even if its one, two or three. In that regard the act will be amended comprehensively to rectify weaknesses as well as to ensure the country's intellectual property law system was current, besides promoting the growth of the creative industry. If we are to protect creativity of film producers, music composers and the like, we must not only educate people but also have stiff penalties."

He also called for action to be taken against the sellers. “The amendment would also involve action against owners of business premises who allow premise renters to carry out illegal activity. In the act now, if traders sell illegal VCDs in an owner's shop, the owner cannot be held responsible, so we want to amend the law so that it encompasses owners, The amended act was also to ensure it was in line with current situation where sophisticated technology makes it easy for certain quarters to pirate material. Maybe one-day people would not use VCDs or digital video discs (DVDs) to watch films or hear music as they can hear over the telephone or downloading material at home. We do not want advanced technology to be ahead of the law,"

Anwar’s attempt to divert attention from sodomy trial makes me sick – Negri MB

Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan, the Mentri Besar of Negeri Sembilan has slammed Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the PKR leader saying that he is planning numerous personal attacks against the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to divert the attention of the public from his going to start sodomy trial. Mohamad claims that it makes him sick that Anwar is planning some ‘conspiracy theories’ against the prime minister.

He said “He has just gone too far this time. It is most unbecoming of him to do so because the people and the nation would eventually lose out if he goes ahead making baseless allegations against our leaders,” describing Anwar to be “pathetic and lacked political maturity.”, he added that “Anwar cannot be thinking of politics all the time. He is free to do so whenever there is an election. As an Opposition leader, he should remember that he too has a responsibility to ensure the country and the people are not adversely affected by the slowdown in the world economy. He is clearly rattled. He is worried that the people are comfortable and confident with the Najib-Muhyiddin (Deputy Prime Minister) team and their initiatives for the betterment of the people such as 1Malaysia. Foreign investors have been coming here in droves as they saw Malaysia as a very stable nation. Now, even the locals are afraid to invest here because the Opposition has been spreading lies about the leadership,”

MACC forms special team to target lawmakers

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has formed a special team to check corruption, abuse of power and misappropriation of funds by elected representatives.

The special team, managed by the inspection and consulting division will conduct an overall study of the rules, procedures and systems used by state assemblymen and members of parliament (MPs) in spending the allocations to close the avenues and opportunities for corruption.

A statement by MACC today said it viewed seriously the prosecution of cases involving misappropriation of allocations by assemblymen and MPs as many involved false claims.

Formation of the special team was in line with provisions under the MACC Act to study the practices, systems and procedures of public bodies to facilitate conviction and to review those that lead to corruption.

It said to increase awareness and understanding, the education units at state MACC offices had been directed to hold special briefings to all elected representatives to explain the types of corruption, abuse of power and misappropriation.

“The briefings will help state assemblymen and MPs to avoid committing the offences,” the statement said.

Why the need for any "special team" ? It is not like they are so hard to catch. Just drop by any huge palaces and mansions, for example, and you can have your quota on the spot. Provided, of course, that your vision is not limited to merely "a few thousand ringgit " cases.

Based on our MACC track records, they can't handle cases more than 50K, therefore need special taskforce. Just like PKFZ overwhelms them, they were only able to handle small sum misappropriations such as those seen with PR elected reps.

MACC, all the big hoo hah but they can't tell that they have no competency handling large sum corruptions!

"Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has formed a special team to check corruption, abuse of power and misappropriation of funds by elected representatives."

Ahmad Said, go after Khir Toyo first la.....so much evidence there, and you still want to do public relation work ah?

What is this? Practice run to start the ball rolling for your "investigations" on PR MPs and ADUNs?

Murugiah calls for Moral Studies to be replaced with 1Malaysia

Datuk T Murugiah, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department is proposing that Moral Studies in schools to be replaced with 1Malaysia to foster more unity values among students. He said “The 1Malaysia concept introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak should be introduced as a subject in the syllabus for primary schools. The time is ripe for us to replace Moral Studies with 1Malaysia which encompasses unity, nationhood, patriotism and the Rukun Negara,"

Muru, you and your BN gangs should learn Moral so that you will know what is the meaning of corruption.

EVEN YOU INTRODUCE THOUSAND AND ONE MODUL TO SUIT THE 1 MALAYSIA CONCEPT, IF THE IMPLEMENTORS (THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND TEACHERS) ARE NOT IN THE RIGHT MIND THEN EVERYTHING IS JUST NATO. FIRST GET THE IMPLEMENTORS TUNED TO THE CONCEPT BEFORE YOU THINK OF OTHER ACTIONS.;)

PAS EGM’s intention was to send message to members that support is weakening

Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, the spiritual advisor of PAS said that his intention when he called for an EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) was to send the message to the members of the party that the support that they enjoyed is weakening and that although the EGM did not materialized but was replaced with a seminar, the original intention was met.

He said “Although the EGM was replaced with a seminar, the original objective to relay the message was met and it was now up to the members to act accordingly. To me it does not matter it was an EGM or a seminar, what is important is that the message (of waning support for PAS) was conveyed,"

This came in light after reports showed that some 70% of pro-PAS youth after the recent general elections have now felt otherwise. This survey was carried out by a lecturer of media studies in University Malaya Assoc Prof Dr Abu Hassan Hasbullah.

No other parties for Sabah except BN

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has come out to boost the BN (Barisan Nasional)’s credibility where he said that there no alternative party can ever challenge the ruling coalition in Sabah when it comes to development and progress and that BN is the only one who can bring further development there.

He said "What is needed is the people's support for the BN in Sabah. We will make a difference. BN is committed to develop Sabah and we will deliver. Let us not fight among ourselves because we are one family. The encouraging public confidence in the state government would strengthen Sabah as a "fixed deposit" for the BN. If the fixed deposit remains...insya Allah the returns will increase, and I see the latest political development in the state has given me more confidence that Sabah is the blue state for BN. However, Sabah should not be complacent about its position because the state governance was no longer as before. It is not business as usual. We hope the people in Sabah and Sarawak understands the situation where the people are now more educated and have a greater expectation from the BN which holds the state administration,

Musa Aman owns half (1/2 ) of Sabah through BN, what else you Sabahans want to give BN. Maybe your daughters to trade for rice and land? Ass hole Sabahan leaders, why talk about cheap labor, you Sabahans have no dignity for yourselves anymore.

I will not interfere with MCA unless invited - PM

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the he will not interfere with the problems in the MCA party unless the party states particularly and clearly that they want his intervention but stressed that the party should solve their problems with or without his help as soon as possible. He added that the so-called Greater Unity Plan was derived solely by the party’s leadership and has nothing to do with him where he was merely informed. He said “It is not my plan but that of the leadership of MCA. But they informed me about it and I told them that the most important thing was that I wanted a strong and united MCA. Only then MCA can represent the majority of the Chinese community,”

Najib refused to add fuel to the fire when he did not comment on the issue where some quarters within the MCA is calling for a second EGM. He said “I don’t want to comment because it is important for MCA to find the solutions themselves. MCA really has no choice, if its internal problems are not settled within a certain period of time, there is a possibility MCA candidates might be rejected when the (general) election comes

MACC can investigate my son-in-law if they need to – Nik Aziz

Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, the Menteri Besar of Kelantan said that the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) is free to investigate anyone when carrying out their duties and it is their prerogative to call on anyone even if that someone is Abdul Ariffahmi Abdul Rahman, who is his son-in-law. Abdul Ariffahmi is also the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of the Perbadanan Menteri Besar Kelantan, the state owned company of the state government.

Nik Aziz said “If there was any truth in the allegations by a blogger on his son-in-law, it would personally thank the blogger but if there was no truth in such allegations, then he would bear the consequences for such an allegation. Twice before he was investigated and both times there was nothing. This is probably a game played by some bloggers...if there is no truth in their allegations they will pay for their sin,"

This came in light when it was reported that the MACC had earlier went to Abdul Ariffahmi’s office where they were investigating some cases of corruption.

2 can play the game if Penang don’t approve land applications by fed agencies

Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department has hit out at the Penang Government for holding back land applications by Federal Agencies and calling them to approve them. Stating that ‘Two can play the game’, “If the state does not want to cooperate with the Federal Government, maybe there are other matters in which the Federal Govern¬ment may find it difficult to give the state what it wants too.

So the state and the Federal Government will have to cooperate, or both will lose out. We have to work together for the good of Penang,” He added that “Perda had applied to develop some land but had not received feedback from the state until now. This matter is one of the hurdles faced by government agencies. I hope the state would not delay in giving approvals for projects regardless of whether it is by federal or state agencies or the private sector,”

Rosmah gets USD2m for her honesty and will use it for the 'well-being' of Malaysians

The prime minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, found herself USD2 million richer for her good deed as a ‘good Samaritan’ but instead of using the reward for herself, she decided to give it to the less fortunate. During the family vacation in France, they stayed in a yatch belongin to the Kuwait’s royal family.

When they were leaving, in the midst of packing she found a safe deposit box which belonged to Prince Saud Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia. She then informed the officer-in-charge of the yatch and ensured that the box be returned to Prince Saud. After that, Prince Saud sent her a letter thanking her and that he wants to give her a ‘present’ for her ‘honesty’. She said “I informed Prince Saud that no gift was greater to my husband and me than the well-being of Malaysians. I also asked if he would like to donate to the Permata Pintar school which is being set up. Shortly after this, I received a cheque for US$2mil (RM7mil) from Prince Saud, who said I had the liberty of choosing the beneficiaries.” She will be giving half of the money to UKM to set up the Permata Pintar School while 13 other NGO’s and welfare bodies which she is the patron presidents will be given each RM25,000.
