BN no longer represents Malays

PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang described the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) as outdated and no longer represented Malay interests, in a sharp criticism of Umno ahead of national polls widely expected within a year.

The two parties are locked in a row over Malay nationalism, which came into the spotlight following the Bukit Kepong controversy, raised by PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu while on the stump in Penang last month.

The opposition Islamist party lunged forward today after being put on the defence and accused the ruling coalition of spearheading the attacks, targeting Mohamad, to cover up its faults in Putrajaya, particularly over electoral reform.

“BN is deliberately covering up election fraud. It’s making this an issue because we exposed that it was working with SPR (the Election Commission) and the ministries and (government) departments,” Hadi told a news conference after opening the party’s day-long convention to explain its “Negara Berkebajikan” concept.

“They are trying to cover up this, by raising issues that stir public sentiments and cause them to forget that the real issue of democracy and reviving democracy, by various means,” he said.

“Umno is using an outdated issue. Malays must not be deceived by this 60-year-old issue,” the party’s secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali added.

PAS, which forms one-third of the opposition Pakatan Rakyat (PR) pact, was among the top backers of the Bersih 2.0 rally last July 9 to demand the election process be cleaned up.

It is continuing this push in the PR bid to take over Putrajaya in the coming general election, likely to be called by the end of this year, after the BN presents a generous Budget in Parliament next month.

The majority Malay-Muslim party’s popularity has grown by leaps and bounds and has won over non-Muslims with its openness since Election 2008.

Hadi advised the BN government against attempting further bluff or offering further sweeteners to gain public trust, urging it instead to work on carrying out real reforms.

He said his party was serious and that was why it was pushing its “Negara Berkebajikan” concept as an alternative to what the BN had to offer the public.

Correct! Correct! Correct! UMNO is no more representing the Malays and MCA too is no longer representing the Chinese and the same goes for MIC whois no more representing the Indian! Reformasi Rakyat Malaysia! UNDI KELUAR BN di PRU 13 !!!

Can UMNO alone play the role of an Opposition when the time comes?. Even in Kelantan who is without much money to spend , its state government has successfully placed UMNO in the basement for the last 20 years.

Even now when UMNO-led BN is still the Federal Government (minus the two-third majority) the other passengers ie MCA MIC GERAKAN etc etc are showing signs.

UMNO....your days as an Opposition party is fast on the way. Just be prepared ...to jump off the boat..Ahoy!!!

It shows that UMNO cannot find anything unclean about PR and so attack a non-issue. They do not want to address the rising costs of living, corruption, good govt. fair policies, treating other races as equal but throw all sort of nonsense at PR like DUMC dinner, Mat Sabu just said a speech in praise of Mat Indera. It shows that UMNO cannot govern if they just continue to pick on petty issues.

Don’t blame telcos for prepaid tax...

Datuk Seri Najib Razak cannot plead ignorance over the move by telecommunication companies to impose a six per cent service tax on all prepaid mobile telecommunication sales, PKR said today.

PKR strategic director Rafizi Ramli pointed out the six per cent service tax is levied on all services specified by the government, and that it had nothing to do with the telecommunication companies’ decision to pass the burden to consumers.

“It is unbecoming of a prime minister to plead ignorance that his government’s decision to increase the service tax to six per cent effective from 1 January 2011 has nothing to do with the telecommunication companies’ decision to pass the tax burden to consumers.

“The service tax contributes directly to the government coffers and not a single sen is retained by any company, which only acts as a tax collector. It is estimated that the government collects up to RM750 million in service tax each year from prepaid customers all these years,” he said in a statement today.

Najib yesterday called on telcos to rethink their move to implement prepaid tax, calling the levy “difficult to accept” given rising cost of living.

The prime minister said the tax on all mobile prepaid starter packs and reloads had come at a time when the government was doing its best to reduce the burden after months of surging inflation.

He also denied that the telcos had sought Finance Ministry approval as “the decision was made by the telcos themselves.”

But Rafizi said that it was wrong for Putrajaya to be selective in its taxation policies, and that the government should not pass a taxation act that “clearly spells out” how companies shall charge six per cent service tax on services they provide in the form of a consumption tax, and at the same time “expect” the companies to absorb the tax.

The six per cent tax was announced on Thursday in a joint statement by the telecommunication players, who insisted that it was not a new tax but had been absorbed by telcos since its introduction in 1998.

But NGOs and politicians have criticised the increase given that telcos are recording billion-ringgit profits despite economic uncertainty hitting other sectors and the general public.

Inflation has remained at a two-year high of over three per cent since March as the Najib administration moved to slash subsidies to essential items such as fuel, electricity and sugar.

Putrajaya has insisted it was forced to make the cuts to a subsidy bill that would otherwise double to RM21 billion this year as it also seeks to rein in a budget deficit that ballooned to a two-decade high of seven per cent in 2009.

First Astro, then Airport Tax,now this. Minimum wage nowhere in sight..the PM is clearly desperate! African style dictatorship emerging with every blunder..

This script is written by Najib leh. He may have ask the Telcos to pass the tax to the consumers then amid the protest he will play the hero by asking the Telcos to scrap it so in the eyes of the raayat he is the hero and hope the raayat will vote for him and his cronies come the next GE.

That is why he should be called the Father of All Illusions.

Zaki the UMNO dog's says ‘insulted’ by RM2m bonus allegation

Controversy-hit Chief Justice Tun Zaki Azmi rubbished today rumours that he will be rewarded with a seven-figure gratuity on top of a full pension when he retires from office.

Malaysia’s fastest-rising judge, who will be clocking out of office on Friday, did not appear surprised when asked to respond to the claim; his eyes widened only when he heard the bonus amounted to only RM1 million.

“RM1 million? I heard RM2 million,” the bespectacled top judge said in reply.

“My God! It’s utter nonsense. I don’t need that money. I’m grateful to God. God has given me enough rezeki. It’s an insult to me,” the soon-to-be 66-year-old told reporters today after opening the annual Conference of Judges at the JW Marriott Hotel here this morning.

Zaki said if he were the CEO of a company, he would have received much more than the purported RM2 million in bonus.

He noted that previous judges had received up to RM5 million after leaving the judiciary, but did not elaborate who they were.

Zaki, who has introduced several measures to speed up cases and ensure judgments are issued on time, has been dogged by controversy, the latest over amendments that allow him to get a full pension despite serving just a few years in the judiciary.

Asked his view why he was plagued by such claims, he said: “I don’t know, go ask the person who started the rumours.”

Zaki says he insulted by RM2M bonus allegation. Our intellegences also insulted by Zaki!!!!!!

nce TDM also said he was insulted by a claim of RM50,000/- being paid . Now this fellow's insult is also confusing. His nikah settlement wanted multi million as compensation. Perhaps that could be the cause. Another weekend shopping delima.

Iblis was on prophet Noah's ark just so it can boasted to Noah how he'll misguide people to follow his unholy way. He claimed to have 5 strategies but only willing to tell Noah 3 and kept the other 2 to itself. But Allah informed Noah to disregard the 3 Iblis had offered, and ask for the other 2 Iblis wanted to keep as secret instead. Iblis said, he'll destroy humanity with 2 of it's most powerful weapons,

Envy and Greed. Because of his envy towards prophet Adam, Allah banished him from heaven, and because of greed, Adam got banished from heaven for wanting the only ONE thing Allah forbids him to had. As for you Zaki, Iblis has managed to used one if not both of his weapons on you. enjoy your wealth while it last, cause like everyone, you WILL die one day. Let see if your 2 money can save you in the afterlife.

Johor MB dishonest about Mat Indera

Professor Abdul Aziz Bari has accused Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman of hypocrisy after the Johor mentri besar insisted that Ahmad Indera was not a freedom fighter but a communist.

The International Islamic University (IIU) don said that as a former academic himself, Abdul Ghani’s statement had damaged the credibility of his own office and that of the state government which published a 2004 book titled “Pengukir Nama Johor” which names Ahmad, better known as Mat Indera, as a prominent Johor figure.

“It is not proper seeing as the book was published by the state government. It damages the state government... as mentri besar, he should know the contents of the book. It is shameful and foolish,” Abdul Aziz (picture) told ...

Abdul Ghani had himself written the foreword to the book that lists several freedom fighters and leading figures from the southern state.

But the Johor mentri besar said last night that Mat Indera had planned the 1950 attack on the Bukit Kepong police station— which resulted in 25 deaths — and tried to convince Malays to join his “illegal activities” in the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM).

He had also claimed that historical facts showed that Mat Indera was a leader of the 10th Regiment under the communist terrorists who threatened the safety of the public at the time.

The Johor Heritage Foundation (JHF) had also claimed earlier that although Mat Indera was listed in “Pengukir Nama Johor”, he was never acknowledged as a freedom fighter.

It said that the content on Mat Indera was from two writers with differing viewpoints, one of whom had claimed that Ahmad was a Malay communist leader who perpetrated acts of terror on his own people.

Abdul Aziz said today that Abdul Ghani should have taken the same tack and said that the contents of the book were only the views of the writers and did not represent the stand of the administration.

“His statement has damaged the credibility of Umno, Johor and also Putrajaya,” the constitutional expert added.

The raging debate over the role of those who attacked the Bukit Kepong police station was sparked after Umno’s Utusan Malaysia highlighted a ceramah by Mohamad Sabu, accusing the PAS deputy president of glorifying the communists.

But Mat Indera’s family have insisted that he was not a communist and have demanded that the government clear his name.

Probe on Sime-E&O deal, pressure for general offer

Securities Commission (SC) chairman Tan Sri Zarinah Anwar is under pressure to investigate her husband, Datuk Azizan Abdul Rahman, for insider trading over conglomerate Sime Darby Bhd’s recent purchase of 30 per cent in property developer Eastern & Oriental Bhd (E&O).

There is also pressure on Sime to make a mandatory general offer (MGO) to E&O’s minority shareholders as the plantations-to-property group had paid a 60 per cent premium for the 30 per cent stake bought from three shareholders. Azizan, who is E&O chairman, did not sell to Sime but has been reportedly buying shares in the past few months.

The SC has already said it is investigating the deal although it did not note the relationship between Zarinah (picture) and Azizan.

“We are also examining the circumstances surrounding the transaction for any Takoever Code implications. Our course of action will be based on our findings,” SC said in an e-mail response to local newspapers on Wednesday.

Minority Shareholders Watchdog Group (MSWG) chief executive officer Rita Benoy Bushon had also questioned the deal and asked if there would be an MGO although the share purchase was below the 33 per cent threshold to trigger a mandatory buy.

“Where does this leave the minority shareholders? Is it fair to them?

“We believe that in the circumstances, the Securities Commission should investigate whether the other conditions for an MGO have been fulfilled,” Bushon wrote in The Star newspaper yesterday.

Bursa Malaysia filings showed that shareholders and board members of E&O and investment firms had been buying up E&O shares ahead of the deal being announced on August 28.

Just before the Hari Raya break, Sime Darby announced it wanted to buy a 30 per cent block (involving 273 million shares and 60 million irredeemable convertible secured loan stocks) in E&O at RM2.30 per share or a total of RM766 million from three vendors — E&O managing director and founding member Datuk Tham Ka Hon, Tan Sri Wan Azmi Wan Hamzah and Singapore-listed GK Goh Holdings Ltd.

The RM2.30 offer price represented a 60 per cent premium to E&O’s then market price.

The filings revealed that GK Goh bought shares totalling 1.25 million shares from the open market for three consecutive days starting August 10. Others buying up E&O shares in August ahead of the deal being announced include ECM Libra Financial Group Bhd, which acquired 6.16 million shares, increasing its stake by 0.63 per cent amounting to 6.25 per cent in four transactions in August.

Azizan also purchased 100,000 shares on August 12 from the open market, bringing his total purchase to some 450,000 shares from the open market involving five separate transactions from April to August this year.

In a statement to The Star, Azizan said: “With regard to the issues raised pertaining to Sime Darby’s proposed acquisition of a 30 per cent interest in E&O, I would like to highlight that it is a private transaction between major E&O shareholders and Sime Darby.”

“The transaction does not require board approval and, hence, was not discussed at the board level. As such, board members were not privy to the transaction and continued to trade in accordance with the prevailing rules and had made appropriate filings with Bursa Malaysia,” Azizan said in the e-mail response.

Apart from these transactions, three of the transactions were done in July and August. Based on Bloomberg data, E&O saw trading volumes increase drastically in July and August, with the company’s share price hitting an initial high of RM1.70 ahead of the deal being announced. E&O’s share price had been moving upwards since mid-March (RM1.08 on March 16) and closed at RM1.68 yesterday.

“The main sore point is the offer price which amounts to 19 times E&O’s forecast earnings for 2012 and 1.85 times its price-to-book value, where, by comparison, the property sector has an average of 12 times forecast earnings for 2012 and 0.8 times price-to-book value,” Bushon had said in her column in The Star daily.

She argued while the premium could be partially justified since it is a controlling block, “but with a mere 30 per cent stake, the extent of earnings contribution accruing to Sime is merely at the equity-accounting level as an associate, or a mere 0.6 per cent increase to Sime Darby’s profits in 2012 and 2013”.

“So soon after reeling from its recent billion-ringgit losses in its energy division, it is hoped that the board had undertaken all due diligence in this deal,” she added.

How can like this one - wife is SC Chief and husband is corporate investor / director?

Not only that - actively participating in investment opportunities.

Like this can ?

Wife investigating husband, mm...... interesting. If the husband has a girl friend or another wife we will know the outcome but if the husband is making MONEY lots and lots of MONEY, please tell how to investigate?

Getting zarinah to investigate the husband is akin to najib asking macc to investigate rosmah "birkins" handbags and whether the first lady is paid a salary that can afford such purchase.

great if she does that, but what do you expect, the rakyat are speculators and we know what happens to high profile cases right?

This Zarinah is screwing her own credibility. She need to resign before facing more embarassment. Looks like Malaysians business and politics is about husband and wife. No wonder Malaysia is corrupted to the core.

Utusan has to apologise

A notice of demand has been issued to publisher Utusan Malaysia (M) Bhd and its editor, asking for an apology and retraction for alleging Penang Chief minister Lim Guan Eng had misused and abused power.

The allegations apparently appeared in an article on Tuesday in the Malay daily over the carpark construction at Penang Hill, Bernama Online reported today.

If the demands are not met within the week then legal actions will follow against both parties said his legal counsel Jagdeep Singh Deo.

Jagdeep said that Lim categorically denied any abuse of power occurred in the reported matter, and felt the accusations were serious and defamed him.

Apologies are cheap and is double edged sword. Should sue for RM100 million, no better US$500 million. Let the truthful wins ..Sue Utusan and its Editor until they go bankcrupt.

another stupid project UMNOPORNO minister....Nazri says no to zero Chinese representation in government

A senior Umno minister has declared that he would fight tooth and nail to ensure Chinese representation in a Barisan Nasional (BN) government even if the MCA or Gerakan fails to secure a single parliamentary seat in the coming polls.

Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz told that BN would not “punish” the Chinese voters by simply yanking their representatives from Cabinet posts if they refused to vote for the two Chinese-centric component parties.

While admitting that the matter would not be his to decide, the minister in the Prime Minister’s Department gave his word that he would champion this cause to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak should such a situation arise when the coalition retains the government.

“I want to tell the Chinese voters that BN is a multi-racial government and regardless of the outcome of the elections, we will always have a Chinese representative in Cabinet. I want to say this with certainty even though I am a nobody in Umno... not even a vice-president.

“But if it should come to that, I will do my very best to persuade the PM that we should not have a single communal government. The system allows us to appoint senators and we need to have representatives of the non-Malay community,” he said.

Nazri recalled that such a promise was made by the country’s longest-serving prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad during his tenure in government.

“I remember back when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was PM... he told Cabinet that even if we come to a stage where MCA or Gerakan loses in all parliamentary seats, we cannot form a Malay government.

“We cannot be a single communal government as it simple goes against the spirit and policy of BN. We cannot punish and penalise a section of the community just because they do not support BN,” he said.

Nazri was recalling a pledge made by MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek several months ago when the former Cabinet minister said he would pull his party from the government if it performs worse than it did in Election 2008.

Dr Chua first mooted the idea when he urged the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) not to join the Sarawak Cabinet after it only won six of the 19 seats it contested in the April 16 state polls.

He later said the MCA would do the same, using the 2008 results as its benchmark. Should MCA fail to win at least 15 parliamentary and 31 state seats, pledged Dr Chua, the party will not accept any Cabinet posts in the next government.

Nazri likened this to a threat to the Chinese community, lamenting that many of his ethnic Chinese friends had approached him with complaints.

“You must ask the Chinese community, not me, if they feel threatened. But most of my Chinese friends feel threatened and we do not want the Chinese voters to feel this way. In whatever circumstances, we will not take revenge on any segment of the community,” he said.

Nazri said it was unlikely that Najib would allow zero representation from the Chinese community in government, pointing to how the prime minister himself had appointed Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon and MIC president Datuk G. Palanivel as senators in his Cabinet.

“So I am actually saying this based on Najib’s actions alone. Do not forget that even if we lose the seats, perhaps in terms of popular votes, 51 per cent of Chinese votes went to the opposition... so what about the remaining 49 per cent? We cannot punish them,” he said.

BN component parties are now busy compiling their candidate lists as Najib had recently signalled the coalition to prepare for the next general election before its mandate expires in 2013.

Indians in UK (and there are plenty) and the Chinese are not represented in David Cameron's cabinet. Similarly in US, interests of Indians, Chinese, Koreans etc not represented in administration of Obama. Are the interests of these communities compromised just because they are not represented? Do they suffer inequality like the Msians do? We do not need representation by race. What we need are capable and skillful representations who addresses the need and welfare of the people & the country.

If we decide to vote out MCA and Gerakan, it simply means we don't want them in the government anymore.... why is Nazri finding it so difficult to understand this?
As many commentators have said, and rightly so, we do not care for the racial background of the ministers... we care more for their capability, honesty, and sense of accountability...Malaysians do not need such 'tribal' behavior in these times... out the window with such unproductive racial politics!

I think other MCA leaders would desert their porn star president and vote him out if he decides to force MCA MPs to stay out of the cabinet should MCA perform worse in the next election than the last.

He forgot he was elected with less than 40% of the votes.

Jais ,the followers of the devil and demons (UMNOPORNO ) charges Khalid Samad over unauthorised sermon

Selangor’s religious authorities have clamped down on the state’s PAS leadership, charging deputy commissioner Khalid Samad over giving a sermon without permission and revoking state chief Rani Othman’s religious credentials.

According to Harakahdaily, Khalid was summoned to the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) today and notified of the charge in relation to a sermon he gave in Klang during the recent fasting month.

The PAS party organ also said that Rani, whose credentials expired during Ramadan, had his renewal application rejected.

“I received the credentials last year and applied to extend them but I received a letter from Jais informing me that my application has been rejected and my credentials revoked,” the Meru assemblyman said of the license which allows a Muslim scholar to give sermons without prior permission.

Khalid was charge under Section 119 of the Selangor Islamic Religious Administration Enactment for giving a sermon in a surau at Taman Seri Sementa, Kapar in Klang on August 16 without prior permission.

The Shah Alam MP will face trial on November 24 in the Klang Syariah court.

He told Harakahdaily today that the sermon had touched on the role of Muslims in the religious affairs of the state.

“I gave a sermon saying Islamic justice is not just for Muslims but also for Jews or even those at odds with Islam itself. I was relating it to how we should hear both sides in the case of Jais’s investigations into the church,” he said, referring to the religious authorities probe into alleged proselytisation last month.

Jais had showed up at a dinner event at the Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) in Petaling Jaya on August 3, claiming that it was acting on a complaint that Muslims were being converted by Christians at the time.

The church had denied the allegations and insisted that the 12 Muslims present that night were attending a thanksgiving dinner by a local NGO.

The contentious raid has escalated religious conflict between Muslims and Christians in the country, with Malay newspapers highlighting allegations of Christians trying to convert Muslims through welfare work.

This is the problem when you give petty little men a little authority and power, they turn themselves into demigods. It is time to remove JAIS and all that morality policing that focuses on the personal level in the form of khalwat and the consumption of alcohol but ignores completely greater moral laxity in high office in the form of the abuse of power by politicians, corruption in high office, the practice of injustice rather than the rule of law and even of selective racism for which UMNO is the chief. They focus on khalwat but have no concern for the deaths that have occurred in the hands of the police and the MACC.

They focus on those who consume alcohol but they have no concern for those who have a share in San Miguel and peddle alcohol. They focus on churches doing good for the poor but not on those in high office who have their hands in the rakyat's money. Time to put an end to JAIS and turn it into an institution that cares for the poor and needy.

distortions policy....SPAD denies land grab but says cannot guarantee release of Chinatown lots

The Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) came out today to deny any “land grab” in its acquisition of Jalan Sultan properties for the MRT project but admitted it could not guarantee that the acquired lots would later be returned to landowners.

SPAD chief executive officer Mohd Nur Kamal said while the acquisition process was being worked out in detail, the government “is in no position to make guarantees of the return of these properties”.

But he reasoned that what was most important was that the government had “listened” to feedback from the affected parties and had agreed to a mutually acceptable outcome.

“This clearly shows that the government is acting in good faith and will continue to do so in resolving this and any future issues related to the MRT,” he said in the three-page letter.

The transport regulator complained that dissenting views expressed over the controversial land acquisition had been based on “inaccurate, incomplete and a lack of understanding” of the facts.

SPAD has been under constant fire from angry traders with businesses located in the historic Chinatown area over its plan to acquire their properties to facilitate the tunnelling portion of the multibillion-ringgit rail project.

Suspicion has also been raised over whether the transport regulator’s purpose of acquiring the prime land lots was to exploit their commercial value to fund the construction of the MRT, said to be Malaysia’s most expensive infrastructure project to date.

Among others, Jalan Sultan traders are also upset that they were not consulted prior to the final alignment of the MRT’s Sungai Buloh-Kajang line and are now also mulling following Bukit Bintang traders in filing for a judicial review on the proposed acquisition.

But Mohd Nur cautioned the public against accepting “misleading views” and urged them to first examine the intentions of those making such allegations, saying it could be designed to confuse and aggravate the situation.

He confirmed that the government was exploring Hong Kong’s “rail plus property” scheme to help minimise spending on public transport infrastructure but stressed that this would only be carried out on government-owned land that is “unused, underutilised or not being utilised optimally”.

“Indeed, there may be instances where private land may be purchased to enhance the development potential but this will be done on a ‘willing buyer-willing seller’ basis.

“Therefore, the accusations that the land that is being compulsorily acquired for the MRT project is tantamount to land grabbing, is baseless,” he said.

For the Jalan Sultan or Chinatown lots, Mohd Nur said that in the interest of time and other factors, the government had decided to select the option of acquiring all the affected properties at the outset before re-releasing them back to their original owners after tunnelling works are completed.

He pointed out that this had been worked out following SPAD’s meeting with the landowners and MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek recently.

Mohd Nur quoted Dr Chua as saying during a press conference after the meeting that the “government will proceed with the acquisition but with the condition that it would strengthen the buildings affected by the construction of the MRT tunnel, for the safety of the buildings’ occupants … But after the tunnel is completed in about six months, they will be allowed to move back in to conduct business as usual.”

SPAD chairman Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar, he added, had also stated that all the parties involved understood that there were many details yet to be worked out in order for this to be achieved such as compensation, timeline and the rights of current tenants occupying the properties.

You take my land for cheap and then sell it for a huge profit. If that is not a land grab, what is that?

SPAD or Prasarana is just TOO adamant TO 'ROB' THE SUPER-HIGH VALUE PROPERTIES of the Chinese USING TAXPAYER'S Umno elites at a pittance price AFTER the tunnelling job !

UMNO WILL MAXIMISE THE LAND GRAB OF THE CHINESE since the MCA had already outlived its usefulness to the Umno BN,,,,and the ironiy of the Land grab is that MCA STILL URGE THE MALAYSIAN CHINESE TO GIVE MAXIMUM SUPPORT FOR THE UMNO BN in the coming GE-13 so that THE UMNO LEADERS CAN SUCK OFF ANY PRECIOUS LANDED PROPERTIES of the Chinese in the Golden Triangle AS UMNO DEEMS FIT ?

THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE TRUE MEANING OF EFFECTIVE MCA REPRESENTATION IN THE UMNO GOVT so that the Umnoputras CAN BASH,MILK OR SUCK the cinaputras forever so long as MCA can help umno to stay IN PUTRAJAYA ?

journalist's death...not hera but zero...become UMNOPORNO cows looking for publicity...

Don’t play blame game over Bernama man’s death, says Najib

Datuk Seri Najib Razak urged the public today not to blame anyone for the death of a local journalist killed in Somalia last Friday during a humanitarian mission organised by Umno.

The prime minister said safety is never guaranteed, even with precautions or training.

“Sometimes, even if you wear bulletproof vests, it’s not a 100 per cent guarantee,” Najib told a packed press conference at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base here today after receiving Bernama TV cameraman Noramfaizul Mohd Nor’s body.

“Many international journalists have also been killed in many parts of the world. You can take precautions, you can put them on courses and all that for safety, but there’s no absolute guarantee once you’re in (areas) of conflict,” he added.

The PM said it was “very careless” to play the blame game, stressing instead that it was important to learn from the incident to prevent future occurrences.

“As I said, no one can guarantee anything. If you’re not prepared to take risks, then stay at home,” he said.

Noramfaizul was part of a 55-strong Malaysian mission providing aid to famine-stricken Somalia from August 28. He was killed and another cameraman injured just hours before the mission was due to fly home yesterday.

Let's recall Star Metro, Saturday 27th August 2011 page 4 row 3 on mission to Somalia. "Mission Organised by Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers. Mission launched by its President. Mission to be led by Putera 1Malaysia Club President." No need for a blame game of course but someone must be accountable for this meaningless death. Someone just lost their son, some just lost her husband, someone just lost a brother and some children just lost a father. Lets face it that the cameraman didn't die a hero. He was there for the glorification of certain individuals and that sole purpose only.

So many were being said before the trip but till today those same people chose to remain silent over his death. The RM6m cost for the mission can be well spent in this country without having to have anyone killed. Even if we do have the excess and obliged to international charity needs, can't the money just be transferred via bank, but then again where's the media coverage right!?

“As I said, no one can guarantee anything. If you’re not prepared to take risks, then stay at home,” he said. Najib said (above). That is just so wrong!
If you want to send a team to war zone, you have to guarantee reporter's safety - 100%. If you can't, please don't send. Question here is why we still send? Is the news so important that we have to sacrifice precious life? What is so bad about getting the news from international media like CNN? Unless Unmo has other agenda.

The fact that the UMNO Baru Putera head, Abdul Azeez, is gallivanting around the globe with his nefarious activities cannot be ignored by Najib.

Or is Najib deliberately trying to absolve himself from another political stunt gone deathly awry?

Umno Youth launches roadshow to attack Mat Sabu

Umno Youth will lead the offence against PAS by amassing all former soldiers, policemen and kinsmen of the Bukit Kepong tragedy victims in a nationwide roadshow to counter the Islamist party’s No. 2 Mohamad Sabu’s view of the fire-fight.

In a statement today, Umno Youth said the roadshow, called Pentas Patriot or Patriot Stage, will include video and multimedia screenings, a series of ceramahs by speakers from its Speech Unit and special guests like “former commandos, soldiers, policemen and local historians”.

“It is hoped that Pentas Patriot will not only recall the history of past struggles but reignite the spirit of patriotism among people, especially the youths.

“Pentas Patriot will also chronicle to our Malaysian youths events that highlights our struggle for independence while exposing how Mohamad Sabu’s theory is no more than just a lie by those who refuse to accept the that our country’s freedom and independence was achieved through wisdom and intelligence and without bloodshed,” said a statement today from Umno Youth’s office here.

The roadshow, said to be held “soon”, comes after the PAS deputy president triggered a controversy when he told a recent ceramah that the attack on the Bukit Kepong police station in 1950, which killed 25, was by freedom fighters.

The maverick politician has since been accused of being a communist sympathiser by Umno leaders and sniped at daily in Umno-owned newspaper Utusan Malaysia despite denying that he had used the word “communism” during his speech.

But Umno appears determined to use Mohamad’s statement to woo support from the Malay electorate, among whom communism remains a bogeyman, and has now armed itself for war.

“Umno Youth feels that the time has come for this roadshow to be held to show appreciation and recall the contributions of our heroic security forces who placed their lives on the line to fight the communists and ensure our country’s safety,” the wing said.

It added that Mohamad’s statement purportedly “glorifying communists” had showed Malaysians PAS’s “true colours” and those of its political partners in the federal opposition.

“Mohamad’s and the opposition front’s act of failing to show disappointment, giving excuses and pointing fingers at Umno and the general public is very nauseating.

“Umno Youth, together with all Malaysians, especially the families of the country’s security forces, strongly condemn Mohamad Sabu for his statement. To us, the Pentas Patriot is the best way to handle this issue and we urge all to participate in our programmes,” it said.

Umno and its Malay newspapers have picked on Mohamad since he was elected PAS deputy president in early June due to his opposition to unity talks between both Malay-based parties.

Making mountain out of a mole hill, is that what UMNO youth is capable only? Please spend your energy in fighting corruption in your party then maybe you will get more votes. The rakyats are not blind don't try to cover your serious misdeeds by organising this stupid road show.

UMNO true colour is out again. Instead of focusing all their energy to reform and develop this country, they are more interested to look for mistakes made by opposition leaders and harp on in. Tell us what good will it bring to the country for going around the country to discredit Mohd Sabu speech. He merely stated his opinion and we can choose to agree or disagree with him.

One thing for sure, we cannot change the history but we could learn. Maybe Mohd Sabu has a point but are others. So UMNO Youth, please do something more productive rather than spending time and money on minor issue like this. One thing for sure, it will not change our opinion on PAS and UMNO.

Show to us, what you are capable of doing good for the country. This is what it counts

at least  Mat Sabu corrected our historical facts. .if UMNO still persist with their distorted sejarah  then Better for them to hold a Pentas Joget

These Bankrupt Nuts (BN) really have no more compelling issues to harness their energies on. Let me remind them some of the chronic issues plaguing the nation i.e. CORRUPTION, JUDICIARY, PDRM, MACC, EDUCATION STANDARDS, BLOATED CIVIL SERVICE, NATIONAL UNITY all but gone, etc.. Khairy, take the cue???

Umno attacking Mat Sabu to protect own version of history

Umno’s relentless media attacks against PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu shows the Malay party’s desire to defend its version of history, analysts have said.

The nation is engulfed by history debates following the alleged remarks by the Kubang Kerian MP at a political gathering last month about the attack on Bukit Kepong in 1950 during British occupied Malaya.

Political analysts told The Malaysian Insider that Umno wanted to maintain its interpretation of history — which has been “propagated in schools and by the official media” — that it was the main force behind the nation’s fight for independence.

“Of course, the Umno at that time is totally different from the Umno of today, and independence came about through the efforts of various forces, including the Malayan Communist Party,” said Lim Teck Ghee, the director of policy reform organisation Centre for Policy Initiatives (CPI).

“However, the hope is that the Umno propagandist and self-serving version would be the unchallenged and pre-eminent interpretation of that period of our history,” he added.

Umno Youth said yesterday it would amass all former soldiers, policemen and kinsmen of the Bukit Kepong tragedy victims in a nationwide roadshow — called the Pentas Patriot or Patriot Stage — to counter Mohamad’s view of the fire-fight.

Mohamad  widely known as Mat Sabu, stirred controversy when he told a Bukit Gelugor ceramah that freedom fighters attacked the police station — which killed 25 — during the pre-independence communist insurgency.

The maverick politician has since been accused of being a communist sympathiser by Umno leaders and sniped at daily in Umno-owned newspaper Utusan Malaysia, despite denying that he had used the word “communism” in his speech.

Umno appears determined to use Mohamad’s statement to woo support from the Malay electorate, among whom communism remains a bogeyman, ahead of anticipated snap polls.

Mohamad, however, has pointed out that Muhammad Indera — one of the individuals he praised in his ceramah on August 21, was already recognised as a freedom fighter by Umno-controlled daily Berita Harian on August 13, 2010.

Muhammad, better known as Mat Indera, was a Malay communist leader who led the guerilla assault against the police barracks manned by policemen under the British administration.

Monash University political analyst James Chin echoed Lim’s remarks, saying: “The real history of Malaysia is (that) Umno is just one of the independence fighters; they’re not the only one. They’re trying to paint themselves as the only one.”

The Malay Nationalist Party (PKMM) was the first Malay political party formed after the Japanese Occupation in 1945 that fought for independence. Umno was formed in 1946 by Datuk Onn Jaafar.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) political scientist Dr Sivamurugan Pandian stressed that rewriting history should be left to historians to prevent misunderstandings that could affect race relations.

“Looking in depth, I think what is being contested now is to recognise communism contribution among the Malays,” he told..

“Confusion will prolong not only among Malaysians, but also PAS or PR (Pakatan Rakyat) supporters themselves,” added Sivamurugan.

Malaysia deported 11 Chinese nationals of Uighur ethnicity back to China on August 18, after it was found that the group was allegedly involved in human trafficking and were wanted by the Chinese government.

The Chinese government has been engaged in aggressive policing in it's Muslim region of Xinjiang as a number of the ethnic Uighurs there seek independence for the western region as East Turkistan. China has been known to have a zero-tolerance policy for any of its far-flung regions from capital Beijing seeking autonomy or separate rule. Hundreds of Uighurs have been reportedly killed in various riots over the decade, especially in opposition to the China's majority Han race who have been transmigrating to Xinjiang.

Apart from PKR, the Bar Council has also condemned the move, saying the Uighurs should have been prosecuted here instead for their crimes, if any.

“However, they have been deported to China, and nothing has been heard about protecting their human trafficking victims. There is also no information about the whereabouts of the 11 Uighurs, what has happened to them, or indeed whether or not they are still alive. One of the 11 is married to a Malaysian,” council president Lim Chee Wee had said.

Nik Nazmi   concurred with Lim and demanded Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein explain and guarantee that the remaining five Uighurs presently under detention here would be treated as legitimate asylum seekers following international law and practice.

The five, he added, have already applied for refugee status from the UN Refugee Agency or UNHCR and should be accorded due protection.

He pointed out that the UNHCR had earlier also requested to meet with all 16 Uighur Muslims in Malaysia but was turned down by the government.

“UNCHR has expressed their regret at the Malaysian government’s decision and the Human Rights Watch (HRW) has already condemned the government’s decision to return the 11 Uighurs and urge the government to not return the remaining five.

“US Republican Representative Chris Smith and Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown, co-chairs of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China have also condemned Malaysia’s actions on the Uighur asylum seekers,” he said.

The HRW, added Nik Nazmi, had also revealed that China has purportedly been bullying countries including Malaysia, Thailand and Pakistan to return Uighur asylum seekers.

He said this began in 2009 in Cambodia when the country was forced to return 20 Uighurs under the protection of the UNHCR including a pregnant woman and two infants to China.

“The Chinese Government have routinely responded to demands for the use of the Uighur language and peaceful practice of Islam as terrorism, separatism and treason.

“OIC, of which Malaysia is a member, has called for China to address the underlying problems of oppression for the Uighurs,” he said.

Problem is all this while UMNO seems to suggest that only UMNO fight for Independence... The true fact is there are parties and individuals who fought for independence..

Take the issue about Bukit Kepong, it happened in 1950, that is 7 years before Malaya became independent (31/08/1957)and 16 years before formation of Malaysia(16/09/1963) take note the Malaysian Police (PDRM) and armed forces Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) not even exist at that time. Nobody including you and I (I guess you learn history about our nation) can deny this and nobody can change what had happen. The question is why does UMNO so ignorant to say that Mat Sabu belittle the PDRM and ATM and glorify Parti Kominis Malaya when both PDRM and ATM did exist in 1950.

History is a bitter pill to swallow, but how painfull it is we had to accept that it happened and we learned from what had happened to better our nation and ourselves

UMNO begged British for Merdeka. Communists and others fought for Merdeka. That is the difference

To be historically accurate, UMNO Baru bear no resemblance to the original UMNO of 1946 and therefore, have no right to incorporate the initiatives made by the latter. Let alone the struggle and sacrifices for independence by other political entities like AMCJA, etc.

UMNO Baru came into being in 1988 whilst Malaya (1957) and Malaysia (1963) were already formalised as sovereign.

Tell me again, what's UMNO Baru's contribution to an already independent nation?

And who holds membership number '0001' in UMNO Baru if it's not Mahathir who quickly proceeded to 'steal' UMNO's assets during the transition.

Umno keep on attacking Mat Sabu , and the more Umno focus on Mat Sabu, the more people support for Mat Sabu, it seems to bring an inner strength for Mat Sabu. Don't worry! Mat Sabu we are supporting you, if you utilise against UMNO for corruptions, baseless articles- Utusan and mismanaged the country, it will bring you well known in good deeds and strength.
