No CROOKS will EVER ADMIT THAT THEY ARE CROOKS!! ....Najib denies preventing Pornthip from conducting Sugumar post-mortem

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today refuted an allegation by the opposition that he had prevented Thai forensic expert Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand from conducting a second post-mortem on security guard C. Sugumar, who was allegedly beaten to death by the police.

“It is not true... these are all fairy tales. Don’t listen to it. Not at all,” Bernama quoted him as telling reporters after opening the Perak Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here.

Najib (picture) said this in response to news portal reports which quoted PKR lawyer N. Surendran as saying that Najib had communicated with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck to stop Dr Pornthip from conducting the post-mortem on Sugumar.

Surendran claimed that as a result of that, the Thai government decided that Dr Pornthip should not conduct the post-mortem so as not to undermine relations between the two countries.

Najib has ordered a forensic report on Sugumar after the 39-year-old’s death was raised at a Cabinet meeting.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai was directed to oversee the forensic report after MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel, who is also a minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, had raised the security guard’s death during the Cabinet meeting.

Several witnesses who saw Sugumar collapse on a street near his home in Batu 12, Hulu Langat on January 23 have accused the policemen who arrested him of beating up the man, together with the help of a mob, after he was handcuffed.

The police have denied the allegations, pointing out that the initial post-mortem by Serdang Hospital showed that Sugumar had died of a heart attack.

Sugumar’s death joins a list of other alleged police killings like the custodial deaths of Chang Chin Te earlier this year as well as A. Kugan and R. Gunasegaran in 2009; the deadly police shooting of 14-year-old schoolboy Aminulrasyid Amzah in 2010; and various other fatal police shootings in the past two years

BN's government politicize autopsy on the corpses ....Dr Pornthip says Putrajaya not happy with her

Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand has said she declined to perform a second autopsy on security guard C. Sugumar as the Malaysian government was not happy with her previous work in the death of DAP political aide Teoh Beng Hock.

Sugumar’s family lawyer N. Surendran said last Tuesday that the Thai forensic pathologist made the sudden about-turn after he announced that she was due to arrive next Wednesday for the post-mortem on Sugumar, who allegedly died from police brutality last month.

Dr Pornthip (picture) told The Malaysian Insider via email yesterday that the deputy to the permanent secretary of Thailand’s Ministry of Justice (MOJ) had informed her of a message from the Malaysian government that it was “not happy with my work, especially in (the) case of TBH (Teoh Beng Hock).”

Dr Pornthip had observed Teoh’s second post-mortem and testified at both a coroner’s inquest and before a royal commission that foul play was likely involved in the DAP aide’s mysterious death at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) Selangor headquarters in 2009.

The royal commission subsequently concluded that Teoh was driven to suicide after aggressive and relentless interrogation by three MACC officers.

“I told the lawyer that I’m (a) government officer under (the) Ministry of Justice that need(s) permission from (the) permanent secretary,” said Dr Pornthip, who is the director of Thailand’s Central Institute of Forensic Science, which is under the MOJ. Dr Pornthip stressed that she needed to have the authority to perform the autopsy on Sugumar without any limitations, but did not specify if the MOJ had prohibited her from doing so.

“Please send my message to your people that I’ve never wanted to (be) involved in politics. I understand that each country have (sic) their own justice system, but there should be no barrier for the people to seek justice,” she said.

She added that she would send The Malaysian Insider the document from the MOJ later.

Dr Pornthip is well known in Thailand for clashing with the authorities, especially for alleging police killings during then-Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s anti-drug campaign in 2003.

What are the people going to say about the government interference into this autopsy affairs. Why all the negative reports about the BN government If they are genuinely clean, effective and trustworthy government. Can`t the authorities do something good for a change. Is it too much to ask for?

If such case happen in other country, the government will be pressed like hell from a lot of NGO and media. Look at Malaysia, the NGO is controlled by government using the law and created by themselves so anything the government do is correct.

Simple. The top cops currently work for UMNO.In return UMNO protects them by preventing the truth from surfacing. If there's no guilt, why then the fear?Justice can only be served when this axis of evil between the security services and UMNO is dismantled with a change in government.

Please vote out evil devil tainted BN/UMNO in GE 13 to get justice done and judiciary clean up for good!

confident of winning by cheating but no eggs to announce the date of the general election...BN confident of 145 federal seats in GE13

The ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) is confident of winning at least 145 parliamentary seats in Election 2013, including recapturing several Umno seats lost in 2008, say sources.

It understands that BN’s projections are about 10 seats above surveys done by Malaysian intelligence agencies, which say the ruling coalition is only sure of 135 seats, five below the 140 won in Election 2008. BN now has 136 seats in the 222-seat Parliament.

“We can win at least 145 seats according to briefings made to the leadership,” a BN source told.

The number is still below the key two-thirds majority in the Dewan Rakyat that BN has enjoyed until the elections in March 2008, and used to push key laws without support from the opposition bench.

BN will need to win 148 seats to have the super-majority in the coming elections which must be called by April 28.

Najib is also bidding for his first personal mandate in the coming general election.

It is learnt Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, the BN chairman who is bidding for his first personal mandate, is confident of winning back such seats as Parit Buntar, Bukit Gantang and Kuala Selangor, which were all lost with wafer-thin majorities.

“PM Najib has expressed confidence that we can win in most of the seats we had lost as they are all Umno seats,” said another source, who attended a briefing recently.

BN’s historic losses of the parliamentary super-majority and four states in Election 2008 were widely blamed on former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who resigned in April 2009 in favour of Najib.

Since then, Najib has introduced a slew of initiatives and has promised a slate of “winnable candidates” to win over support for BN, which has ruled since independence as the three-party Alliance before enlarging itself to include other parties in 1974 and changing its name.

Najib remains more popular than his party although his approval rating fell to 63 per cent last December, down from 65 per cent in November, the lowest since he received 59 per cent support in August 2011, the Merdeka Center for Opinion Research said last month. The survey included 1,018 voters and had a margin of error of about 3 per cent.

To ramp up support, Najib visited Perak yesterday, just after Sabah on Wednesday and Thursday, and Johor on Tuesday as part of his nationwide tour before calling elections. The country’s sixth prime minister has visited all 13 states but is focusing on a few states to ensure victory for his coalition.

He had told reporters in Sabah that Parliament will only be dissolved when everyone is ready for the polls

“Very soon, very soon, do the job first, do not worry.

“We want the people to understand that a vote for BN is a vote for the country’s transformation agenda and a vote for peace and stability for a brighter future,” the prime minister said.

A clear indication that elections could be held sooner than later is the Election Commission’s (EC) announcement today that the latest electoral rolls will be gazetted by February 22. The last gazetted rolls had some 13.3 million voters, including 3.1 million new voters.

If so confident, why delay in calling the polls...almost a year overdue!

If BN is so confident in retaining power after the next GE, then why is UMNO still won't allow neutral GE observers to monitor the GE from any possible frauds?

The answer is very clear cut. It will be massive frauds to ensure a clear cut victory.

BN will not hesitate to use whatever tactics they need to to remain in power, that is why the rakyat must rise and vote them out

Give us a transparent and fair election with a lean electoral roll, then we'll see if your prediction is correct.

Those who cast the votes decide nothing; but those who count the votes decide everything

najib's scoundrel think he can fool the people ...Najib denies public money used for Psy’s performance

Datuk Seri Najib Razak clarified that the performance by South Korean megastar PSY at the 1Malaysia Chinese New Year Open House yesterday did not involve any public money.

The Prime Minister also said the public was not charged a fee to watch the artiste who popularised the ‘Gangnam Style’ dance moves.

“Just to reiterate, PSY’s performance did not involve public money at all.
“The public was not charged for watching it either,” he said on his Twitter account.
PSY’s show was one of the highlights of the well-attended event organised by Penang Barisan Nasional at Han Chiang College

Any private firm which paid for show must be lured by your famous political method "YOU HELP ME/BN - I/BN HELP YOU!"
Do not fool Malaysians! There is no free meal on table for BN if private firm paid for show! There must be some sort of repayment either in kind or ..... best known to you and your demon BN/UMNO!
If BN and Najib thinks he can convince Malaysians to vote for him just by bringing PSY,( not by government expense but most proabaly by some "kroni" who has been raking many times more than the amount he forked out for PSY), he can go to sleep in peace and deam that the people of Penang will deliver the votes to him. He does not realise peolpe despise "kronism" , favouring Ibrahim Ali as the man above law and eldless list of fitnas against the opposition leaders. Now , Najib is promising the sky to all Malaysians. I hope that you will lead BN to the worst ever defeat .

suddenly change her mind ... the threat of UMNO-BN thugs ..???....Dr Pornthip says no to Sugumaran autopsy for ‘personal reasons’

In a sudden turn of events, Thai pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand today declined the invitation by PKR lawyers to perform a second autopsy on C. Sugumaran, the security guard who recently died allegedly due to police brutality.
According to lawyer N. Surendran, the famed director of Thailand’s Central Institute of Forensic Science emailed him earlier today to say that she was “unable to do the autopsy for personal reasons”.

Dr Pornthip’s sudden about-turn came just shortly after PKR lawyers emailed a press statement to media organisations here, saying the Serdang Hospital has finally agreed to the autopsy and Dr Pornthip’s team is due to arrive in Malaysia on February 20.

“But now, Sugumaran’s family will have to look for other alternatives,” Surendran said.

In his earlier joint media statement with fellow PKR lawyer Latheefa Koya, the duo had said that due to public pressure, the Serdang Hospital had agreed to the second autopsy and would even ensure all necessary equipment and facilities would be available.

Earlier, the health authorities had agreed to the second autopsy, despite insisting earlier that there must be a written permission from the police or a court order.

When contacted, the police had then declined to say if they would give permission.

Dr Pornthip is the same forensic pathologist who observed Teoh Beng Hock’s second post-mortem and testified at a royal inquiry that foul play was likely involved in the DAP aide’s mysterious death at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s Selangor headquarters in 2009.

She is well known in Thailand for clashing with the authorities, especially for alleging police killings during then-Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s anti-drug campaign in 2003.

Surendran had earlier confirmed that Dr Pornthip had agreed to perform a second post-mortem on Sugumaran.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has ordered a forensic report on Sugumaran after the latter’s death was raised at a Cabinet meeting.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai was directed to oversee the forensic report after MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel, who is also a minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, had raised the security guard’s death during the Cabinet meeting. Several witnesses who saw Sugumaran collapse on a street near his home in Batu 12, Hulu Langat on January 23 have accused the policemen who arrested him of beating up the man, together with the help of a mob, after he was handcuffed.

The police have denied the allegations, pointing out that the initial post-mortem by Serdang Hospital showed that Sugumaran had died of a heart attack.

Sugumaran’s death joins a list of other alleged police killings like the custodial deaths of Chang Chin Te earlier this year as well as A. Kugan and R. Gunasegaran in 2009; the deadly police shooting of 14-year-old schoolboy Aminulrasyid Amzah in 2010; and various other fatal police shootings in the past two years.

A United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention 2010 visit to Malaysian prisons and detention centres reported in 2011 that between 2003 and 2007, “over 1,500 people died while being held by authorities.”

The Bar Council, civil society groups and several politicians from both sides of the divide have called for an Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) to reform the police force since 2006.

Former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan also called for an independent body to oversee police conduct, although he preferred an alternative to the IPCMC.

she fears for her own safety, after her experience in TBH's case. She thought about it again, or it might've someone discouraged her to do it so she said no.

There are enough guys in Australia who would be more then happy to come over to assist especially in Adelaide, Perth and Sydney.

Dont take anyone from Scotland or Northern England as some of Bolehland's government pathologists went there to do a MSc in Forensic Pathology ( actually most of them were holidaying in UK and more interested in bringing back a BMW or Mercedes rather then focusing on their studies) If you bring anyone from these areas, they will pakat with their ex students and do another cover up as in TBH's case.

Vote out evil demon BN/UMNO to restore justice system and get justice done for this poor victim and family

scammers policy....already ashamed but not to admit....Not all said ‘no’ to PM, says Penang BN of open house jeers

Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) believes rivals sent saboteurs to heckle the prime minister and his entourage during its Chinese New Open House event on Monday, Sinar Harian reported today.

State BN chairman Teng Chang Yeow said he suspected it was this group that yelled “No!” when Datuk Seri Najib Razak asked the crowd, “Are you ready for BN?”, purportedly to offer the impression that Penang residents did not support the ruling coalition.

“Not everyone present had yelled ‘No’. We have video records showing a large segment of the audience had yelled ‘Yes’ when the PM asked that question several times.

“I believe there were those sent to sabotage the open house that we organised and we also found that there were those who wore colours that DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng had asked them to wear as a sign of protest,” he was quoted as saying today in the Malay daily.

He added that it would only have been worrying if those who had shouted “No” were BN members or supporters.

Global pop sensation Psy, the Korean singer who shot to stardom for his viral “Oppa Gangnam Style” hit, drew rapturous applause from the crowd during his appearance.

Videos of the hoots, boos and “No” shouted to Najib, and the “Yes” to the prime minister’s question of whether the crowd was ready for Psy, have been posted on the Internet, attracting observations that BN was unlikely to win back voters in Penang during the coming polls.

Penang, which was held by BN’s Gerakan for some four decades, fell to the opposition’s hands when the ruling coalition recorded historic losses in Election 2008.

DAP’s Lim Guan Eng was then installed the state’s chief minister, and since then, the state has been seen as PR’s sturdiest fortress against its political foes in BN.

Correct..corect correct. Psy also didnt say NO to Yam Seng...he only said he will Yam Seng later... BN continue spinning before saying sayorana for good.

Najib officiated a automated public toilet in Bukit Bintang. A Prime Minister officially opening a toilet. Degrading? Not for him- there seems to be nothing this man would not do for some publicity.

Bn has ran out of ideas to govern the country. That's why you see the Head of a country becoming an introducer to a pop star.

What a joke!

It doesn't matter. What matters is that NO video is TRENDING on You Tube...

Without someone sponsoring RM 3.5 million, the opposition scored big time on social media space.

You FAIL. ROI from campaign money = negative. No wonder Ng Yen Yen spent so much on tourism Malaysia FB page and still can't get the tourists in. Fail government.

Teng, the people of Penang cannot be "bought" with money or shows. While we appreciate the show, you cannot sway our hearts until UMNO changes their racist and bigoted policies that favour only one race.

Nation building is not about one race. It has to be inclusive and fair for everyone, not one race. Do you have what it takes to change?
