Altantuya murderers crocodile tears......Najib apologises for BN’s mistakes in move to cut opposition’s strength...

Datuk Seri Najib Razak apologised for Barisan Nasional’s (BN) past mistakes today that cost its two-thirds parliamentary majority and four states in 2008, recognising the groundswell against the ruling coalition remains ahead of a general election that must be held by next year.

The prime minister said the BN would rectify the mistakes and make up by serving the people as best as it can.

The voters’ rejection of the BN, like in Kedah, was in a way due to the mistakes made by the coalition, Najib (picture) said during a day-long visit to the state.

“I believe that we should not be arrogant. In a parliamentary democracy, we have to subject ourselves to the power of the people. We must have made mistakes for the people to have rejected us.

“We apologise for our past mistakes. The victors apologise, as do the losers,” he said at a meet-the-people session at the Kuala Ketil public field near here, according to a Bernama Online report.

The BN chairman said the ruling coalition will learn from the mistakes and rise again.

The Malaysian Insider understands that the latest Umno surveys show that there could be a repeat of the Election 2008 results but with Pakatan Rakyat (PR) getting at least 87 federal seats, five more than in 2008.

Among the issues blighting BN’s efforts to garner more support include a civil service pay revamp that has gone awry, the National Feedlot Centre (NFC) scandal involving a minister’s family and the Lynas Corp rare earth refinery operations which has seen growing opposition to its plan to keep radioactive wastes in the country.

BN won 140 seats in the 222-seat Dewan Rakyat with the remainder going to PR but a series of defections have seen the opposition now having 76 seats. It also lost Perak to BN in 2009 after three PR lawmakers quit to be independents supporting the federal government.

PR now holds Kelantan, Kedah, Penang and Selangor but a brewing leadership crisis in Kedah could tilt the rice-bowl state back to BN in the next election.

Najib has yet to indicate when he will dissolve parliament for federal elections but he indicated his confidence today to win back Kedah.

“From the ruins of the BN in Kedah, we will rise and build a strong and sturdy ‘palace’. That’s our resolve. We resolve that we have learnt from our mistakes. We give the people an undertaking, that we will serve them to our best.

“Let the past remain just that. We promise a transformation for the people of Malaysia, and Kedah. The journey has begun,” he said.

Najib said that only the BN can provide the people with a good future.

“Our plans are clear. We have a well-organised agenda, we have a roadmap, we have facts and figures. Sufficient statistics to drive change, to take the nation towards realisation of a progressive high-income country. This is unlike the Buku Jingga,” he said, referring to PR’s roadmap for implementation if they captured Putrajaya.

He said the government wanted to send the signal and provide a clear picture that it is close to bringing about a transformation that will give great benefits to the people.

No need to appologise just resign as you and your Government is incompetent and dare to call election Mr care taker PM!

Never, never trust our Mr. Flip Flop. Just vote out corrupt UMNO and BN then Malaysia will go forward with prosperity

You and BN have FAILED MALAYSIA very, very BADLY. It is way beyond apologies, you have had 50 years to prove yourself and you failed. No more, no more, no more! Malaysians have had enough!!!!

Apologies is not going to bring back $100 billion back or numerous deaths in police custody. Or that matter , wasted lives due to discriminatory policies under Barisan.! Barisan's road map will change nothing.! More empty promises .! Voting Barisan will bring more of the same.Ditch them.!

Actually Malaysians are NOT interested in your apologies. We want you to EFFECTIVELY reduce and cut corruption even if you have to kick out all your current ministers. Start by having open tender (no negotiated tenders), speed up all corruption cases (NFC already 4 months old nothing happen yet, but see what they have done with the late TBH), remove politicians especially those about to expire. Do not all politicise Education, it standard has dropped and continue ENGLISH Please show that you do what you mean, don't change otherwise we have no choice but to change you after more than 50

Apologies won't change a bit on the rotten mentality in the BN. Corruptions after corruptions, arrogant attitude, racist remarks, unfair treatments to other religions practices, mismanagement of public funds, uncontrolled inflation, racial discrimination and flip floping of policies and etc. Remember the waving of Kris, raiding of church, confiscation of bibles, the Allah issue, the Ketuanan Melayu proclaimed by certain politician, billions of loss by MAS and bailout after bailout, poor medical standard of government hospitals, changing the medium of teaching of Maths & Science from BM to English and then back to BM, burning of churches, sex scandals of MCA leader, 10As but no scholarships as promised, Bersih mishandlings and many more.

Rosmah botox escaped .....'ikan bilis" to be the victim...misuse of public funds......Umno MP found guilty of falsely claiming RM80,000

Umno MP for Sabak Bernam Abdul Rahman Bakri was found guilty on eight counts of making false claims totalling RM80,000 for events that never took place four years ago.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) lawmaker was accused of committing the offences while a Sungai Air Tawar assemblyman before Election 2008.

The 47-year-old was charged under Section 11(c) of the Anti-Corruption Act 1997 in November 2009 with falsely claiming RM10,000 each time between January 21 and February 4, 2008.

Sessions Court judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh delivered the ruling after finding that the defence had failed to raise reasonable doubt in the prosecution’s case.

Despite being pronounced guilty, there will be no by-election in the constituency as Abdul Rahman has served more than two-thirds of his term.

Abdul Rahman faces up to 20 years in jail and a fine of five times the gratification paid to him, under the law.

His aide, Mohd Rusli Busro, was also found guilty of abetting him in making the false claims.

The trial judge will deliver the sentence tomorrow.

Considering the speed with which Datuk Shamsubahrin was investigated and charged in a bribe case involving NFC, the 4 years taken to convict this guy is mind boggling. By delaying the case, BN avoided the by-election.

Abdul Rahman Bakri's RM80,000 false claim is tip of the ice burg.
Its just peanut compares to the submarine, NFC, Raja Nong's saga..etc..

what about MAS, PFKZ,, 'King' Lion Sik , now Felda, NFC, how many more to come..??? public money purloined on some pretext or other ....by hundreds of others big and small, bred fed and shelteterd by the BN
over 52 years ....compared to the mere 80,000 by this bloke !!
The question is.... Do we still want the BN in there ?

His crime is being caught. One of our minister commented recently " I am not the only UMNO leader having problems..............I wonder what she meant. This is why she seems to be bullet proof. If anything happens to her , she can bring the house down.......just like a house of cards.

This is just tip of the iceberg..........nothing surprise us. UMNO had been corrupt for the past 50 years. When it comes to UMNO Mp's its always corruption............not forgetiing NFC and Sharizat
