Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, the president of MCA has echoed what was said by the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who claimed that the 100-day reform proposal put forward by the opposition front PR (Pakatan Rakyat) as one which is irresponsible and unrealistic. Dr Chua said that if Pakatan cannot even honour and deliver its promises in Kedah, it would be impossible for them to delivery their 100-day reform promises for the people if they are elected to the federal government.
He said “PR had yet to fulfil its pledge to give civil servants in Kedah interest-free loans and crèches, as well as improve the garbage disposal system since seizing the state from Barisan Nasional (BN) in 2008. Kedahans also saw water tariff hikes of 25 per cent despite a guarantee from PR that rates would not be increased. Is Pakatan capable of reform or carrying out what they promised? During the 2008 election they made a lot of promises, and if you look at election manifesto... most of it has not been delivered. During [Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s] time, when he announced bonus to government servants, a lot of Pakatan Rakyat... were saying it should be tied to productivity,”
