Dzaiddin stays as chairman of Bursa another year

Former chief justice Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin Abdullah (pic) will stay on as non-executive chairman of Bursa Malaysia for another year, until Feb 28, 2011.

It is understood that he was informed of the contract extension on Friday.

“Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin was informed Friday that his contract has been extended by another year,” a source told The Malaysian Insider.

A lawyer by training, Dzaiddin was appointed to the exchange board on March 1, 2004, after serving as chief justice from 2000 until retirement in 2003.

The Bursa Malaysia operates the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and a fast-growing derivatives platform with listings including palm oil and Shariah-compliant

Isn't the job is for his retirement benefits ? How can a former Chief Judge be the chairman of Bursa which is a listed company with the motive of making money ? Oops I forgot, this is UMNO style of rewarding loyalty.

Nice work, another work of the "insider" to give him a job.. like the VP Lingam masterpiece of the fixing CJM scandal... way to go... sure you can make alot of this time!

I'm sure PR supporters will condemn the governement for extending the contract of this guy because he's a Malay. And you still ask what purpose of the Malay rights groups such as Perkasa formed?
