Despite resignations, PKR remains strong

Share
Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, the secretary-general of PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) said that despite the recent resignations of some Members of Parliament from the party, they remain strong and that there are no upheaval as claimed by some quarters. He said that the current issue is an improvement process and that those who are resigning are the problematic ones. He said "The fact is that the three (members) who resigned are from among those having to face the party's disciplinary board and the people can themselves gauge them. There is no upheaval in the party and PKR remains strong. Anyone can claim that 10 or 15 MPs and state assemblymen will leave the party. I do not believe such a thing will occur. The 500,000 members of the party nation-wide would remain loyal to PKR.

We have been puzzling why there is an exodus of members jumping ship........those pariahs who joined UMNO are finding it difficult to enrich themselves being members of PR because of responsibility, transparency and no hanky panky policies. In other words, there is very little room for them to extend their pockets and as a result, the chances are better if they jump ship as quickly as possible. They have the ship to ptotect them should they find themslves in trouble with MACC over corruption scandal.
