Groups form consultative body to defend Malay rights, Islam

Share

About 50 groups today launched the Malay NGO Consultative Council (MPM) to defend Malay rights and Islam at the historic Sultan Sulaiman Club here, where a similar gathering nearly 60 years ago led to the formation of Umno.

Among the prime movers are Perkasa, ex-Umno lawmakers council Mubarak, Peninsula Malay Students Confederation (GPMS), Malay Professional Thinkers Association and Cuepacs.

among those who spoke were Perkasa president and Pasir Mas MP Datuk Ibrahim Ali (picture), Mubarak chief Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang and Malay Professional Thinkers president Professor Datuk Dr Kamaruddin Kachar who is a former director-general of the National Civics Bureau (BTN) which the opposition claims spreads hate ideology.

The MPM was launched by GPMS president Jais Abd Karim followed by a dialogue and a signing ceremony to form the body.

The MPM press release said “following several discussions by several Malay NGO leaders, there was a desire for a consultative council to bring together as many Malay NGOs concerned about current developments faced by the Malays”.

“It is apparent that there is pressure on Malay rights and privileges in their own country, towards the position of Islam as the official religion, the position and sovereignty of the Malay Rulers that is always being questioned, the New Economic Policy that is being sidelined despite the lack of achievement by the Malays and also national security,” it said.

These are among several “sensitive” issues for the Malays which have become provocative matters by those who want to destroy the security and prosperity of the country, the statement added.

The statement said the consultative council is not a platform for confrontation unless they are forced by parties described as those “inciting” racial tension.

“The main function of this council is to act as a medium to gather Malay NGOs that share the same stand to handle pressures faced by the Malays, Islam, Malay Rulers, national security, public order and other related issues,” the statement said, adding the idea to form the body was made early last month.

The MPM will form a task force that will be chaired by council members in rotation.

The statement also said the MPM had resolved each member should jointly study issues important to the Malays, Islam, Malay Rulers, national security and public order that is brought up or questioned by others, or to be championed by the community.

Others include the preparation and implementation of action plans to handle or oppose provocations against issues that relate to Malays and Islam, or issues seen as inciting or hateful.

The resolutions decided by MPM are:

* Resolutions must be based on facts and documents tabled at lawful MPM meetings;
* MPM members who disagree with the resolutions must accept the decision of the majority and be prepared to sign the agreed resolutions;
* MPM members who refuse or abstain from resolutions or decisions can choose not to sign off without affecting their membership; and
* If any MPM member opposes any of its resolutions or decisions, they will automatically cease to be members.

Please go ahead, do more , defend rights, rights , rights, but country can go down the drain still want to defend. May be one day there is nothing left to defend. Hmmmm, but it will be wonderful to defend the weak, the oppressed, the minorities, the one who have no rights. This is our duty and God's requirement for mankind. Go figure it out. Dont do anything to divide the country but unite the WHOLE country

New Economic Policy that is being sidelined despite the lack of achievement by the Malays???? ....who's fault? are you blaming the BN government ? or the government and agencies managed by mostly Malays? where is the fairness now? accept the fault and make sincere amendments - YES many middle class Malays are poor -help them sincerely ... not another wayang kulit -

Perkasa is the first right wing group and now followed by this nonsencical MPM
group..how many more silly, racist groups more will be formed in Malaysia.
No wonder more than 350,000 malaysians have migrated over the last
18 months, including intellectual malays, leaving this group of nicompoop
fighting over the crumbs leftover by UMNOputras..MCA,MIC,Gerakaan
why so quiet lah,say something before the parties become irrelevant..

Just who is threatening Malay rights and the Malay rulers? When will these extremists grow up and discard their siege mentality and stop being afraid of the non-Malay bogeyman?

Now we see the birth of a neo-Nazi organization. The father of all this TDM must be smiling happily. These are the products of TDMs spoon-feeding. They thrive on distorting truth and fear mongering.

What are these neo-Nazis saying? They are simply that there is no more place for the non-Malay and non-Muslim under the Malaysian sun. For instance, if somebody were to ask why is it that a Malay mother gets support to buy milk for her baby while others do not, these self-proclaimed guardians of the Malay race will see it as a provocation and incitement of racial tension and people have been warned that neo-Nazi troopers are prepared to storm and “CONFRONT” you. It is as simple as that.

These neo-Nazis pretend that they are the ones who created peace and prosperity in this nation. Keep dreaming!!. Wait for another year and see when FDI and local investment dries up and the capital flight from this country intensifies. It will be too late for this country – the descent into the abyss will accelerate.

These neo-Nazis are not ashamed. They are not honest enough to ask themselves one simple question. WHY IS IT THAT AFTER FIFTY YEARS OF PRIVLEGES AND EXCLUSIVITY IN ALMOST EVERY SPHERE OF LIFE they are still saying that their race is backward and needs help. Do they require another century of help before they are satiated? And also ask – who is paying for all this.

The fact that CUPECS is involved in this neo-Nazi organization says it all. More than 90% of the civil service is made up of Malays. At least they are not hiding the fact that CUPECS has now become part of the neo-Nazi storm troopers. Does CUPECS wants the civil service to be 100% Malay?

Professor Datuk DR Kamaruddin Kachar – please tell the people of Malaysia – how many generations within your family have been surviving on the public largesse? Tell the people if you will turn down privileged government scholarships, college admissions and jobs for your children so that a poor child from the kampong can benefit? Can you also tell all your privileged Malay friends, through this Neo-Nazi organization, that they should do the same for the sake of genuine poor kampung children?

Critical thinking Malay professors and thinkers – can you please explain why is that there is such a fariance in the number of children between a middle class Malay family and families of in other ethnic group? Can you please explain this phenomenon.?

UMNO is irrelevent now as far as i can see it. And the other BN parties are impotent lot. Najib letting this racist group to prevail what a slap on 1 Msia. Kamaruddin Kuchar "the kacau" caused trouble when he became the National Scout commisioner and now trying his luck in MNM or whatever they call them.

When did Cuepacs become a Malay body?

Who is pressuring Malay rights? How can a majority be threatened? Doesn't make sense...

Why CEUPACS and MUBARAK in the list. These two body represent multi-cultural Malaysian. CEUPACS should stay away from these coalitation because they represent all the government servent.

All Malaysian NGOs should have a coalation to protect the malaysian right to get a fair justice, learning with our mother tongue, have equal chances in bussiness, AP and have treat fairly.
