Police arrests 8 in Metro Tabernacle church arson attack

According to Federal Criminal Investigations Department director Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin, the police have arrested 8 men involved in the arson attack on the Metro Tabernacle Church recently. With the arrest of the 8, which includes 3 siblings would be vital to help them solve the case after a 25 year old man went to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for his follow up treatment for burns.

He said “Upon questioning the man, we conducted an operation where we arrested seven more men including another man who also had burns on his hand. All eight have been ordered to be remanded with us for seven days to facilitate investigations. They are being remanded for seven days from Wednesday to help in the investigation into the case under Section 436 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum jail term of 20 years upon conviction. We ask the people to remain calm and allow the police to conduct their investigation to enable us to send our papers to the attorney-general for subsequent action. Do not attempt to link the people arrested to the arson attacks on the other churches,"
