11 committee from S’gor MB’s division quits, claims to be disbanded

Share
The PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) of Kuala Selangor, led by Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was reportedly ‘crippled’ after some 11 of its committee members resigned citing that they have lost confidence in the leadership of Khalid Ibrahim. this includes the heads of the Youth and Wanita wings as well. Arshad Abu Bakar, the deputy chief of the division said that with only 3 elected leaders left which includes the Mentri Besar, himself and Faridah Abdul Rahman, the division is disbanded. He said “The 11 committee members, and division Youth chief Nazarudin Darmawan and Wanita head Fauziah Sulaiman had resigned from their posts between November last year and Jan 18 this year. However, those who quit their posts remained as PKR members but had lost confidence in Abdul Khalid to lead the Kuala Selangor division. They claimed that Abdul Khalid had placed Kuala Selangor PKR in disarray as he failed to build a strong management foundation for the division. The division had not held its committee meeting in the last 14 months. As a result, there had been no activities carried out to strengthen the party.”

Abdul Khalid though denied that the division had disbanded as claimed by Arshad. He said “There was no meeting held to disband the division. The election to choose a new committee will be held in March. That is why some want to quit their posts. The excuse of losing confidence is nothing unusual...or perhaps the statement was written by Umno for him (Arshad) to say out,"
