Arsonists attack 2 Suraus in Muar

It was reported that 2 Suraus in Muar have been damaged due to arson attempts. Both the Suraus which are located in the Sabak Aur and Parit Beting respectively are situated about 1 kilometer away from each other. According to Mislan Kamani, the Muar district officer called for all not to speculate and to be calm saying that the attempts were done by “some crazy people who want to create fear and disunity among Malaysians in Muar.

The incidents are not related to race or religion,” In the Surau Sirrahtulrahim in Sabak Aur, the curtain and some parts of the wall got burnt. According to Idris Sehan, the village head, kerosene was splashed near the window. The surau in Parit Beting in Jalan Salleh had its window broken and door burnt. the Johor deputy police chief SAC I Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman said “No one should exploit the issue and the police should be allowed to handle the investigations.
