Sodomy II – Defence failed to get doctor’s medical notes

Share
There were more problems for the defence team in the Sodomy II trial involving Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when the Kuala Lumpur High Court Wednesday rejected the application by the defence to order Hospital Dr Mohd Razali Ibrahim, the general surgeon of Kuala Lumpur (HKL) to produce the medical notes he took when he examined the alleged victim Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan for 3 hourse.

The application, made by lead counsel Karpal Singh was dismissed by Judge Justice Mohd Zabidin Mohd Diah. Karpal said that since the medical report was based on the notes, then it would be necessary to be used in the case. During questioning, Razali had tried not to refer to his notes despite Karpal’s insistent that he should ‘refresh his memory’. There were times when Karpal had asked Razali "Can you remember? Do you want to refresh your memory and refer to your notes?"

Another kangaroo court! Rather than prolonging this case and decided by one judge, this is a very sensitive case and it should be redirected all the way to the Supreme Court. The general surgeon of KL memorized the medical notes and without even referring to his notes has obviously too much time on his hands needs to be replaced. We all know that his statement is carefully scripted. Tell him to follow the rainbow and find his pot of gold!
