Galas result will show tell us about Malay’s support – Ku Li

Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, who is also the Member of Parliament of Gua Musang said that the upcoming by-election of Galas is important and that Umno must win it if they want to gauge the level of support from the Malay community. He said that it would show if the community still find Umno relevant to them.

He said “Although there are more than 20 per cent non-Malay voters, but it means a lot. Umno badly needs the support of the Malays, because it is a Malay party. If the Malay-majority states are not on Umno’s side, it is awkward for the party. We believe that we will be able to solve strategic problems of the people like housing, their livelihood, low-cost houses that are being built by the government, incidentally during this election.

It was planned a long time ago, but we sped up the construction, and the election was called. Our aim is to solve the problem of illegal squatters in Gua Musang town. It is not an instant project, it has been approved for a very long time. This should have been implemented a long time ago, but because of the launch of 10th Malaysia Plan, it was postponed. Incidentally, the election was called. Like housing for the Orang Asli, I want it to be done fast too,”

If there is no by election in Galas, the orang asli housing will have to wait for another century. For the past 53 years, no housing for orang asli housing at Galas, why all the sudden ? Tak payah lah, orang asli been a sucker for the past 5 decades why suddenly becoming so caring ?
