Don’t just blindly question Warisan Merdeka – Second Finance Minister

Share
Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, the second finance minister has called on the public to think rationally and to look at the big picture before going about slamming the recently proposed Warisan Merdeka structure by the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak when he announced the Budget 2011. He said that the project would bring about more good than harm as claimed by many quarters who had condemned it in a ‘knee jerk reaction’.

He said “We have to study it in detail, ask questions... and then after getting the answers to those questions, we make a decision, not listening to just one voice, ‘This is no good. This will be a white elephant’. People should not react based on “hearsay” and “emotion” and must instead ask the right questions about the feasibility of Permodalan Nasional Bhd’s (PNB) skyscraper proposal in order to make an informed decision. What we should be asking is: Why did they (PNB) decide to go into property? How much is the return? What are the risk factors? Have you mitigated the risk? If you’ve done that – the rational thinking – then you make a decision [whether] you agree or not. This is the investment of PNB. They have various investments. How many years they have been in business? So they feel that they want to go into property because property can fetch lots of money. Definitely they have done their study. It is not something ad hoc.”

He added that “The project was crucial to the Najib administration’s plan to boost domestic investment in the country’s quest to wean itself off foreign direct investment (FDI), and reiterated the prime minister’s assurance that the Warisan Merdeka will confer “multiplier effects” to the economy. There’ll be 140 sectors that will benefit, from banking sector, from services, from materials, from transportation, from contract work, employment, salary. That will create... both private investment and private consumption. These are the things that will boost the GDP of the country. We must look a things comprehensively, not just on the surface, listening to some opposition leaders then we go with them. If that is the case, then government decided no KLIA, no Putrajaya, no Penang Bridge, no (Petronas) Twin Towers. What would the position of the country be now? We must look at things rationally and with a proper, ordered mindset. If not, the country will not move,”

HELLO, HELLO Umno melayu, Perkasa melayu, where are you ? Here is another golden opportunity for you guys to own up more business/economy quota .... see below ......

The Urban Development Authority (UDA), in joint-venture with Timang Saga Sdn Bhd (who holds 70%), will be developing the site of the old Pudu Jail in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. The project is estimated to be worth RM6 billion. Timang Saga is asking those who wish to participate in this development to pay the RM132 million land premium, pay ‘expenses’ of RM5 million, contribute to a RM250 million 'fund', plus offer them shares in the company. That is RM387 million in total, not including the shares in the company.

Since, Umno & Perkasa 7/24 complaining about 'tak cukup' economy pie, the above is a 'golden pie' for you guys. And what the fuck, UDA/Timang Saga is offering the 'golden pie' to anyone of any race, if let say a Chinese/Indian or other non bumi took up that offer, in later stage Umno & Perkasa goons will goes around and complain ' malay are being side line, we don't have enough business quota '. Hey UDA/Timang Saga what are you trying to do, by offering the 'golden pie' to anyone ? Are you trying to get the Chinese & Indian business man into trouble ?

Many foreign companies are leaving too, hundreds of 'golden pies' out there .... Mr Umno & Mr Perkasa, don't loose those golden opportunities !

It is indeed a white elephant !!
So fucking stupid to send someone as passenger to the moon and then claim we have an astraunaut , wasting millions of rakyat's money, so when we travel by plane, then we are all considered as pilots ????
What will the rakyat benefit after the building is completed ?
What good does the twin towers and the KL Tower present to the rakyat ? isn't this a pure waste of rakyat's money ?
