Phasing out of jet-fighters will save RM260m for govt

Share
Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the Defence Minister the jet-fighters currently used by the Air Force, the MiG-29N will be phased out by the end of next year. Once that is done, it will save the government RM260million per year and the money will then be used to channel into the maintenance of its current aircraft and systems.

He said “The MiG-29N fighter jets would be phased out as it was difficult and costly to maintain some old components and systems for the fighter jets. The weaponry for the fighter jets has reached the end of its lifespan and extending the lifespan would be costly and would not be viable,"

He was responding to Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan, the Kota Belud BN representative who asked for the rationale of phasing out the Russian jet fighters where he added that “”The RMAF planned to replace the MiG-29N fighter jets with the 'Multi Role Combat Aircraft' (MRCA) for air operations. After the MiG-29N fighter jets have been phased out, their role would be carried out by the Sukhoi SU-30MKM which are among the most sophisticated long-range fighter jets,"

To think that one fine day this bastard will be the Deputy Premier of Malaysia is indeed scary. This bastard does not flinch an inch when he lies.

This is pathetic. Singapore/Indonesia/Thailand, all used F16s since 1986. All still in use and will only retire in 2020+. F16 was seleced based capability, long term cost and price.

Of course, Malaysian mind-set is different, we buy from the parties that PAY(RASUAH) the most.

Phasing out BN will save the government BILLIONS !!
