NS Umno warlords back return of ex-MB Isa

Share
More than four years after his Umno membership was suspended for alleged involvement in vote buying, Tan Sri Isa Samad has now received the backing of Umno warlords in Negeri Sembilan to contest the Bagan Pinang state seat.

And if he gets the nod and wins the seat, Isa's supporters are likely to make a case for him to replace Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan as MB again.

The Malaysian Insider understands that at least five of the eight Umno divisions in the state are in favour of fielding the former mentri besar in the seat situated in the Teluk Kemang parliamentary constituency.

Isa is the Teluk Kemang Umno division chief.

“This is not about Tan Sri Isa making a comeback into politics, it is about winning the seat. It is an important by-election and he is the best candidate,” said Seremban Umno division chief Datuk Ishak Ismail.

Ishak was a three-term Lenggeng assemblyman but was dropped in the last general election, and he is said to be unable to work with the current Mentri Besar.

“He is only 60, Anwar was older than him when he contested Permatang Pauh last year,” Ishak told The Malaysian Insider.

Howver, he also dismissed the suggestion that the move to field Isa, who led the state government for 22 years, is an attempt to weaken Mohamad's leadership in the state government.

“I feel that the serving MB is not strong enough, Isa's experience as mentri besar will help him,” said Ishak.

When contacted, Isa refused to comment saying that he will let the party leadership decide.

The Teluk Kemang division committee will meet this Thursday to decide on the candidate.

The Bagan Pinang by-election was made necessary following the death of BN's Azman Mohammad Noor last week.

In March last year, Azman defeated Ramli Ismail of PAS, by some 2,000 votes.

BN is currently ruling the state with simple majority after winning only 21 out of the 36 state constituencies.

Let Isa Samad retire gracefully.....Im quite sure we have ample capable malay candidates. This is our problem...always bringing back zombies to rule the real world.

is this the best UMNO can do? field a known crook and cheat?

another TAINTED candidate.. good for PR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seems every which way BeNd turns, they do not have any 'candidate' at all...all are corrupted .

and btw, lets prepare for the 'character' assasination claims and then 'stand' by their man, sigh... and then conceded that their candidate 'character and past' lets them down after the poll !!

Syabas ! The Rakyat support Tan Sri Isa Samad should be nominated as a UMNO / BN candidate for Bagan Pinang. Today the MB Melaka and KJ were proven guilty of money politic are still eligible to hold high positions in the state govt and party post respectively. Many Malays voters in Bagan Pinang still support the old cock 60, ISA come back to play politic because he was very experienced in money politic and also played very dirty politic during Tun Dr M legacy. He was unlucky to be found guilty by UMNO internal enemies and was sacked as MB Negeri for past 4 years.

Welcome Empire "ISA" Strike Back to topple the current arrogant MB, Mohamad's leadership in Minangkabau state government. UMNO and BN warlords are a strong supporter of "ISA" regime in Malaysia. Dont worry, be happy, Let Pakatan Rakyat tell rakyat and voters to reject "ISA" in Bagan Pinang by-election with straight 8-0 win against UMNO in holy Ramadan Month.

See UMNO win the "Postal Votes" and Pakatan Rakyat win the "People Votes" -
Syabas BN support "1Malaysia" and Pakatgan support "1Malaysian Malaysia".
