Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the number of problematic Umno divisions has dropped to a minimal level.

He said that in the past, there were many Umno divisions that were having problems, but the number had dropped to a minimum following discussions held between the divisions concerned and the party president as well as the deputy president.

“Such Umno divisions required ‘treatments’, that is why we arranged several meetings with the party president and deputy president. Problematic Umno divisions have now dwindled after they understood and appreciated the party’s struggles,” he told reporters after opening the delegates’ meeting of the Seremban Umno division here today.

He was confident that Umno would subsequently be stronger especially in facing the 13th general election.

He said if Umno itself was united and strong, other people would not be able to ‘knock it down’.

Meanwhile, he said out of the total of 121 Umno divisions nationwide, 42 had already held their respective delegates’ meeting so far.

The Umno divisional delegates’ meeting must be held between August 1 and September 16.
