I am not quitting and won’t abandon Anwar at time of need – Kelana Jaya PKR MP

Loh Gwo Burne, the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) MP of Kelana Jaya has denied rumours that he is going to quit the party and jump-ship over to a component party in the BN (Barisan Nasional). He also quashed the claims that the few other lawmakers in the PKR like Datuk Seri Zahrain Hashim of Kulim-Bandar Baharu, Tan Tee Beng fo Nibong Tebal and Wee Choo Keong of Wangsa Maju too would follow suit. He added that it was Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the de factor leader of PKR who requested for him to join the party and he would not abandon him at the hour of need where Anwar is currently on trial for alleged sodomy. He said “Over the past week, there has been talk about PKR lawmakers leaving to join Barisan. There’s no truth in this. I am not going to leave Pakatan Rakyat or PKR. In his (Anwar) time of need, there’s no way I will abandon him,”

R Sivarasa, the vice-president of the PKR said “Party-hopping was all right if done for the right reasons. If they hop for the wrong reasons, then it is wrong. The defection of elected representatives had occurred in many countries. However, in Malaysia, it is seen as dubious or unethical because in most cases, politicians hop to another party to gain either positions or monetary benefits,”
