MACC officers pushed me, says Liu's aide

State executive councillor Ronnie Liu's aide was hurt in a scuffle with Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers at the Sungai Pelek DAP service centre yesterday.

Wong Chuan How, 50, claimed he was pushed by MACC officers who wanted to detain him for questioning in connection with its investigation into the misappropriation of constituency allocation.

Wong, who is also a Sepang municipal councillor, was said to be in hiding after a blog alleged he had received 83 contracts amounting to more than RM200,000 in the Sungai Pelek constituency.

Sepang is held by Barisan Nasional's Yap Ee Wah and it is under Liu's supervision on behalf of the Pakatan Rakyat state government.

Liu claimed the officers acted like gangsters and did not introduce themselves when they went to pick up Wong for an interview yesterday morning.

He also accused the MACC of not fulfilling its promise to interview Wong at the service centre.

"They treated Wong like a suspect," Liu alleged, adding that two lawyers, Chua Kee Hin and John Fernandez, were present when the officers turned up at the service centre.

On Monday, MACC officers recorded Wong's statement on the allegation of misappropriation of state funds.

MACC director of investigations Datuk Mohd Shukri Abdull insisted that the scuffle occurred when Wong refused to follow the officers for questioning.

Shukri said the officers read him a warning and asked him to sign it but he refused.

"He wanted to lodge a police report instead," he said.

"We tried to bring him back to our headquarters but he refused to follow. There was a slight scuffle when we tried to put him into a car and he fell."

Shukri said that Wong was allowed to lodge a police report later and he was then sent to the Serdang Hospital for treatment.

"We did go to his office to detain him and we had prepared a written warning that was read out to him before his arrest, which he refused to sign," he said, stressing that the commission had the power to make an arrest.

MACC officers do NOT ACT like gangsters, they are gangsters and as such under our beloved laws why should they introduce themselves?

Corruption is their middle name.
Gangsterism is their only game.
They are here to protect the interests of UMNO
If murder is necessary, that'e where they'd go!

Yes how convenient. Everyone who is arrested by MACC falls down by themselves or fling themselves off the building. MACC must have some superpower. Yeah pigs can fly.

Ever since Teoh Beng Hock's case all opposition members already have a fixed mindset, that is they believe they will surely die if arrested by MACC. Why, even a witness like Teoh can die what more a suspect. That's why they will fight tooth and nail to prevent being hauled up to their headquarters.

..we had prepared a written warning that was read out to him before his arrest,
What is that warning ? No one can be forced to sign any documents to implicate himself or herself ? Read CPC 114 ?
