Police said today that Saturday’s rally if it were to be relocated to Shah Alam Stadium would still require a permit.
Shah Alam police chief ACP Ahmad Zahedi Ayob said today that no such permit has been issued to the Bersih organisers, according to Bernama Online.
Bersih is a coalition of 62 NGOs seeking for cleaner elections and electoral reforms, and which has been illegal since July 1 following a home ministry ruling.
Ahmad said police have not received any application for such a gathering, and if a permit was issued the gathering has to be peaceful and follow the law. He was speaking at the Selangor police contingent headquarters here.
