Share
Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, the Chief Minister of Sarawak has applauded the recent report by the Auditor-General who slated that for Sarawak, the public accounts for 2009 was in a ‘clean bill of health’. This would be the eighth consecutive year that the Auditor-General has given Sarawak the status. Taib said that “The state government must sustain this performance by having all controlling officers, including heads of ministries, departments and agencies, view the observations and weaknesses highlighted in the auditor-general's report and take remedial steps.”

He added that "I would like to bring to the attention of the press to give a balanced report of the auditor-general's comments so that the financial position of the state is not misunderstood by the general public. The state public accounts were not only subjected to the scrutiny of the auditor-general but also monitored by the rating agencies periodically and in a disciplined manner, in accordance with prescribed high international financial and accounting standards. All state statutory bodies and government-linked companies in Sarawak were also required to comply”

The man who owns many properties and commercial buildings in other countries will always declare he is clean. Most of the giant businesses belongs to his family. As a minister, what is his salary to own all these after so many years as a minister? Auditors, are you telling the half a truth or full truth? Then why is S'wak still in poverty when they have natural resources like Timber and agriculture? Oil is also part of the income. So now are we suppose to believe you?
