Umno to continue effort to discuss unity with PAS: Ahmad

Umno will continue to find ways to discuss unity with PAS although PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has rejected such talk, Umno information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan said.

He said Umno would not give up on the issue because the party believed that there were leaders in PAS who were in favour of such effort.

“Nik Aziz can say anything he wants but there are other groups in PAS and PAS is not just about Nik Aziz... others might have different views,” he told reporters after opening the Felda Management Seminar here today.

He was asked to comment on the refusal of Nik Aziz to discuss Malay unity with Umno, preferring instead to talk about federal-state relations
