Ezam claims to have proof that Mkini and Star were undermining royal institution

Senator Ezam Mohd Noor has claimed that he has proof against local media The Star and online news media MKini for undermining the royal institution when they reported that the foreign workers on the construction of the new Royal Palace were unpaid for up to 3 months. He claims that "I have all the necessary evidence to back my allegations, and I will hand it over to the Home Ministry and the Council of Rulers soon,"

Ezam claims that both the media have been giving prominence to the opposition parties for their reports and that there were "evil manipulative elements". He added that “Star and Mkini were attempting to incite a public outcry over a federal government project by highlighting the alleged plight of foreign labourers at the new national palace currently under construction. Malaysiakini called the project the 'palace of tears' while Star is in cahoots with top opposition leaders who compared the cost of the new palace to a theme park in Europe,"
