Anwar won’t get access to documents to prepare defence

Share

The Federal Court ruled on Tuesday that it does not have the power to review its own decision made on 29 January 2010 which strike out the application by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim access to the documents of the sodomy trial for the defence to prepare themselves. Led by Justice Zulkefli Ahmad Makinuddin with Federal Court judges Heliliah Mohd Yusof and Mohd Ghazali Mohd Yusoff, the decision was unanimous.

According to Zulkefli, “A review at the Federal Court is not an automatic right as an applicant has to satisfy that “there was an error in law” for the court to agree to a review,” Karpal Singh, the lead counsel of Anwar said “This would impact nine other cases in which the Federal Court has ruled that it has the inherent power to review its own rulings. The decision today has no impact on our case because the trial has already commenced, and we can always apply for the documents in the course of the trial,”

So, this is BN's version of a FAIR TRIAL?????

So the puppet master pulls the strings and the shameleless puppets dance. What law are we practising in this country when the law of precedence is strangely ignored.Judges in this country should learn to have principles and not blindly follow the dictates of their principals.
