MRR2 is so safe, I won’t be around to see it last – Works Minister

Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor, the Works Minister told the parliament today that the flyovers in the country, including the MRR2 (Middle Ring Road 2) were all designed to last at least 100 years and that the MRR2 is safe for travelling. He said “I might not be around to see it last but based on the ultimate design, the main structure can last for such a period. However, there are things beyond anybody’s control like a natural disaster. In Mississippi in the United States, for example, a very strong bridge collapsed.But as far as the MRR2 in our country (is concerned), there are only cracks,” Tan Seng Giaw, the DAP representative of Kepong questioned Shaziman on the safety of the MRR2 and to assure that as claimed by his predecessor Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu that the MRR2 could last 100 years.

Shaziman said “The Government can take action against contractors of the project and it was up to the contractor to take similar action against the consultant. The MRR2 was a ‘design and build’ project and the Government can only take action against the contractor. It is up to the contractor to brief those involved and decide whatever action to take,” The Works Ministry came under fire recently for the cracks found along the MRR2 after millions of Ringgit were spent to upkeep and repair its flyovers.

This MRR2 have certain place and corner which are very dangerous ...please look in to it for our RAKYAT safety!!!


If this MRR2 is a 'design & build' concept, then why must our goverment bear the sum of rm22 million for the repair works (cracks) ??????

Exactly what the people wud have thought. Every politicians says the same. Pocket the money, build some shit things, and if some bad things occur while they are still around, you know what? It`s God`s fault...... blame it on nature...!!! Stop lobbying for all this lame bastards in election.
