MIC wants to extend to Indonesia by setting up Putera MIC

Share
The MIC is set to extend its ‘influence’ to Indonesia after it was announced that they have set up Putera MIC in order to assist the Indian Malaysia students there. according to T Mohan, the MIC Youth Chief, S Moganraj, a medical student at Universiti Padjajaran, will be the coordinator of the movement there where he will be involved in the formation and running of the Putera MIC. Mohan said “Moganaraj would coordinate the formation of Putera MIC Indonesia committees throughout the country.

For a start, we have registered about 80 students as Putera MIC Indonesia members. We hope to register at least half or about 400 of 800 Malaysian Indian students in the country," Mohan added that “Putera MIC Indonesia would ensure Malaysian students abroad were able to receive accurate information on events back home. Just like Umno clubs overseas, which catered to the Malay students, the Putera MIC Indonesia would not be involved in politics but would focus on student activities and maintaining close relations with central MIC. At this initial stage, Putera MIC in Indonesia would also cover activities involving Indian female students.”
