Malaysia wins AFF Suzuki Cup, PM declares Friday holiday

Share
The prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has declared that Friday is a public holiday to celebrate the victory of the Malaysian football team in the AFF Suzuki Cup. It was a historic night for Malaysia as the national football team did the country proud by winning the AFF Suzuki Cup after coming off unhurt at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta. The Tigers lost 2-1 in the highly intimidating stadium but won the final with a 4-2 aggregate thanks to the 3-0 win in the first leg last weekend in Bukit Jalil. Playing in a full house stadium of some 95,000 fans in Jakarta, there were also around 10,000 policemen on standby to avoid any unwanted situations.

The atmosphere was both intimidating and totally out of this world with Indonesia coming on from all sides but was unable to score. They however got a penalty in the 15th minute and it was up to the goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat who saved from the spot. And then after the break, it was up to golden boot winner Mohd Safee Sali who raced through the defence on a through pass to score Malaysia’s first. Indonesia got 2 late goals but it was not enough for them to win the tie with Malaysia lifting the trophy for the first time.

winning a rubbish cup also so much to talk about. if win a world cup or asian cup yes la, should be proud.

anyway thanks for the holiday although it cannot reverse the negative impact of comodity price increases. if can reduce income tax, we will give the govt a holiday.

Thats how half baked leaders handled things ! At most is to give a grand welcome to them . To declare a public holiday, good grief, only to be found in Malaysia ! Malaysia sure Boleh !!! Next,we hear Rajagopal and Safee confered a datukship .
