Muslim NGOs urged authorities to ban Blair from entering Malaysia

Following Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s call for the authorities to arrest war criminal, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair when he steps into Malaysia, a Muslim NGO coalition backed Mahathir’s suggestion and urged authorities to bar Blair from entering our country.

Initially, Blair was invited as a guest speaker to give a talk to Malaysian businessmen. The seminar is scheduled to be held at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre on April 23. However, 26 Islamic groups come together and urged for action against Blair for he was a ‘war criminal’ attributed to the war in Iraq.

Meanwhile, event organizer Success Resources International stressed that Blair will still enter Malaysia despite the opposition by Mahathir and Muslim NGOs. He is scheduled to give 90-minute talk regarding leadership issues to over 3,000 participants in the seminar.

The organizer’s chief executive officer Richard Tan said Blair is entitled to deliver his speech since he is not hurting anyone or breaking the rule or law.
