3 dispatch workers charged for arson attack of Metro Tabernacle Church

3 dispatch workers, 24 year old Raja Muhammad Faizal Raja Ibrahim, 22 year old Raja Muhammad Idzham Raja Ibrahim, 22; and 23-year-old Azuwan Shah Ahmad have been charged for the recent attacks in the Metro Tabernacle Church. The three of them are brothers and if convicted could face jail term of up to 20 years.

They were charged at the Sessions Court under Section 436 of the Penal Code for committing “mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy a building.” The date of mention is set March 12 and of three of them claimed trial. They were not represented and bail was set at RM20,000 each. Muhammad Faizal, the eldest of the three pleaded for leniency as they would not afford to pay the RM20,000. He said “I plead for the court to lower the bail amount. This is our first offence; we cannot afford RM20,000 bail,”
