Police admitted Tung Shin hospital was hit with tear gas canisters and water cannon during the Bersih rally, but denied shooting directly into the compound.
Internal security and public order director Datuk Salleh Mat Rashid said today that shots were only fired “nearby” the hospital compound on July 9, and speculated that the wind caused by the rain probably caused the tear gas and water cannon to enter the hospital compound.
However this statement flies in the face of various video clips uploaded on the YouTube video-sharing site showing water cannons and tear gas fired into the hospital.
“In the event involving the Tung Shin hospital, it cannot be denied that water cannons were sprayed at the alley entrance to Tung Shin Hospital but tear gas was only fired nearby, not directly.
“What happend in Tung Shin Hospital, claims that police used tear gas and water cannons cannot be denied, but it could be caused by the wind,” he told a press conference here.
Salleh stressed that investigations were still ongoing and assured that immediate action would be taken against any police officer found to have shot tear gas to the hospital compound.

By saying that they fired nearby the Tung Shin hospital, are they saying that the doctors who were on duty at the time of the incident are lying? I certainly and majority Malaysians certainly trust the doctors more than the police and politicians.
Just follow what Khairy Jamalluddin said, own up to your mistakes and apologize to the Hospital and the Rakyat, but, then again, when has UMNOsaja ever apologized for all their wrong doings?

we push them a little, they change the story a little. But they're never really wrong. Before this they didn't even fire anything there. Then, it was the wind blowing the gas in. Now, more rubbish.
Well, they could not deny that tear gas canister and chemical laced water shoot into compound since it must be on somebody's video. So they claim it was unintentional. Just fired into sky and could not direct where its going to land. Also it was windy that day. They are trained and could not know where it will land. ????????????????????
Does the Director of Internal Security and Public Order realize that he and his men were out of order?? He is admitting that tear gas and water cannons were used against his own countrymen who were out there in peace asking for a clean and fair elections - something very legitimate and should have been the intention of every raakyat from the simple man in the street right up to royalty. Is it necessary to provoke disorder just to ensure that he and his men can put it back in order on that day thereby showing the world that they are doing their job??? Whether outside, near or inside the hospital compound, their actions on that day were uncalled for. The Health Minister and his party boss shot first with their mouths and now paying the price of being called liars; now this excuse.
Liars, liars, liars. But then, what do we expect from such a govt institution? And, needless to say, that Liow Tiong Liar will be most pleased with such a reply from the police. And, they will say all the videos and pics on Youtube, etc are pro-PR, and have been doctored to make BN and the Police look bad. Hello, you think we stupid is it? I was there @ Tong Shin Hospital. Thousands of people were also there at Tong Shin Hospital. We are witnesses to YOUR crime! You think we can trust or believe you? Wouldn't it be better to say that you guys made a mistake and owe up? Or you think being bullies gives you the right/might to dictate that you are right?
