Anwar: Dr Ling charged because PKFZ scandal too big

Former Transport Minister Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik was charged over the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) fiasco because Putrajaya “could not hide the scandal anymore”, said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last night.

He said although the opposition had been “making noise” about the matter for the four past years, the government did not take any action.

“Every time we bring up the issue, we were labelled anti-nationalists. And now since they cannot deny it anymore, they have charged [Dr] Ling Liong Sik,” the PKR de facto leader said at a ceramah here.

“The MCA called us liars and said we were publicising a matter that does not exist,” he said, referring to Dr Ling's political party.

“In this country, the rich can do anything. They can even murder someone and get away with it,” he told some 350 people who braved heavy rain to attend the ceramah held in the Beng Sean Seah hall here.

Dr Ling was charged two days ago for cheating the government by misleading the Cabinet on land acquisition for the PKFZ project in Klang.

The charges concern land valuations under the Penal Code with the principle charge under Section 418, with the alternative charge under Section 417.

He faces up to seven years in jail for the first charge and up to five years’ imprisonment under the alternative charge. Both carry a fine.

He pleaded not guilty and was later granted a RM1 million bail by judge Suzana Hussin with one surety.

Dr Ling is the fifth and the highest ranking person to be charged in relation to the PKFZ scandal.

Late last year, former PKA general manager Datin Paduka OC Phang and three others were charged with criminal breach of trust (CBT) and cheating by making false claims.

PKR and its allies in the Pakatan Rakyat have criticised the government for failing to bring "big fishes" to court over the PKFZ scandal which centred on guarantees for bonds that could push the project cost to some RM12.5 billion.

The PKFZ was modelled after Dubai's successful Jebel Ali free zone but has thus far failed to attract enough business to be self-sufficient.

you are right Anwar...where's the UMNO culprits??? i dont think this PKFZ is only involved MCA???

Charging the Big fishes and putting them in jail for the crimes they committed are two different things. The entire RAKYAT know that this is nothing but publicity stunt where we all know that Ling will walk freely after the Prosecution team make another high profile blunter again. What's new?

Look at Lingam Case ? Royal Commission found all involved guilty one way or another and yet till now BN has not taken any action? All in BN are in cohort with each other ! Unfortunatelly for MCA, it has lost its usefullness now having lost the Chinese support and UMNO treat MCA as one of its pet's dog - just sacrifice it since it lost its usefullness !!!!

MACC chief vows to probe every complaint

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Datuk Seri Abu Kassim Mohamed said today he would step down if any complaint made to the MACC, including against Cabinet ministers, went uninvestigated.

“If no investigation is carried out on any report, even against Cabinet ministers, I am willing to go down,” he said during a question-and-answer session on the final day today of the three-day Malaysian Law Conference here.

Abu Kassim (picture) said he was prepared to receive complaints from the public directly or through the MACC Complaints Committee headed by a former judge.

Up to 119 complaints were lodged with the committee last year alone, he said.

“We are not going to hide anything. If we are wrong, we are wrong, or if we are not good enough for the job, we will work hard to improve ourselves,” said Abu Kassim, who was appointed as the MACC chief commissioner in January this year.

He said that since the setting up of the MACC in January last year, about 10,000 people had been arrested, among them ministers, members of parliament and senior civil servants, irrespective of their political leaning.

The MACC also was involved in addressing money-politics cases in Umno, where 12 members were prosecuted, he said.

“MACC’s action had sparked a demonstration initiated by Umno Youth which alleged that we don’t have any business investigating the party’s money-politics,” said Abu Kassim, addressing some 300 lawyers at the conference.

He said one of the major challenges faced by the MACC currently was in changing the public perception of the commission that it only went after “the small fish rather than the big ones”.

“Generally, we are just an investigation agency and do not have the power of prosecuting the suspects involved in corrupt practices,” stressed Abu Kassim. He said the public expectation of the commission had been growing day by day, and he had been working hard to engage more with his officers in improving the public perception without compromising on the integrity of the commission.

Earlier in his speech, Abu Kassim said other than public perception, the MACC was facing challenges from the media which had been reporting on every move of the commission.

“It’s almost (like a) live telecast, where people start asking who will be the next to be arrested by the MACC; where it becomes so transparent ... which demands fairness to all those being investigated by us,” he said.

He also said that corruption was a crime most difficult to prove, as, sometimes, it involved the investigation of friends or relatives of the suspects.

Abu Kassim also shared his experience in handling illegal sand-mining activities in Perak, Selangor, Johor and Pahang, saying he personally briefed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on the seriousness of the problem and added that 49 people had been arrested.

When asked by reporters later whether he would push for the MACC to be given the power to prosecute, Abu Kassim said he was not complaining.

“I would rather not comment on this matter. I only want the public to understand that our job is only to carry out investigations, and that’s all,” he said.

The only problem is not MACC is not empowered to bring charges to those that they investigated ,the power still lie with the AG . If the AG would not or unwilling to bring charges , no matter how many evidences you find will be to no avail . If it ever comes to that , I would suggest that Datuk Kassim brings it to the press .Not the usual press , but the more bipartisan publication like Malaysian Insider .
By the way , I m sure there are reports or complaints on Khir Toyo , and I certainly hope it is being look into . Hoping against hope it is not just another wild goose running amok .

DAP sacks Tee over graft claims

Tee declared his innocence at a press conference on July 28. On the left is Lui.

The DAP today sacked Klang municipal councillor Tee Boon Hock as a party member over allegations of corruption in securing contracts worth RM1 million from the council.

It is understood the party moved quickly to quell any notion of condoning corruption within its ranks and to stress that it had zero tolerance for graft although the Selangor government had yet to uncover any wrongdoing on Tee’s part.

Tee was earlier asked to go on leave by party disciplinary committee chairman Tan Kok Wai when The Star daily first reported the allegations last Tuesday. He now has 14 days to appeal against the expulsion.

Tan said the party found basis for the allegations.

“Whilst the contractual amount is undetermined, we have been informed by the Selangor state committee that at least one of the companies which you have issued a letter of support was related to your family members and done without the authority of YB Ronnie Liu,” the party said in Tee’s dismissal letter.

Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim had said the state had begun investigating the claims more than two weeks ago and regretted that the news had leaked.

Tee has been accused of forging state exco member Ronnie Liu’s signature and using his letterhead to secure contracts worth RM1 million from the council for 20 companies.

The allegations against Tee were first reported by The Star on Tuesday but he denied he was corrupt, and is considering suing the daily.

Tan told reporters that the disciplinary committee unanimously agreed that there was a conflict of interest when Tee abused Liu’s office for personal use.

He said Tee’s actions could be considered a criminal offence and had tarnished the party’s image.

“The disciplinary committee is of the view that you had acted in serious breach of the party’s principle and in violation of the party’s constitution which should not be condoned. As such, it is the unanimous decision of the disciplinary committee to hereby expel you from the party by terminating your membership of the party with immediate effect,” the party told Tee in the letter.

The party also told Tee that he has 14 days to appeal in writing “against the decision herein to the central executive committee of the party”.

The disciplinary committee has also directed Liu to lodge a police report.

Tan said the party will request that Tee be immediately removed as a Klang municipal councillor.

Tee, a third-term local councillor, had said that he would ask the Klang Municipal Council to set up a task force to determine the truth.

The disciplinary committee will hold a second hearing to determine allegations that Liu had instructed for one of the letters of support to be issued.

Liu also denied that his letterhead had been misused.

The DAP also released a press statement today condemning the issuance of support letters for business purposes by all Pakatan Rakyat (PR) elected and non-elected officials.

“All PR officials including state agencies should also disregard all business support letters that are issued to them in order to ensure that all commercial dealings are above board and to avoid any negative public perception of malpractice or favouritism,” said the statement.

SYABAS CEO is Paid More Than His Counterpart in Bank of China

A quote from a Reuter’s article says:

China, for example, boasts three of the world's four biggest banks, yet the leaders of those banks -- Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank Corp and Bank of China -- are among the lowest paid of those surveyed by Reuters. The chairman and the president of each of the banks are paid roughly $230,000 per year

Bank ICBC, bank terbesar di dunia, membayar CEO mereka USD234,700 pada tahun 2008. Jumlah ini bersamaan RM1 juta setahun.

The SYABAS CEO, on the other hand, went on record as to admitting that his salary is RM5.1 million per year.
If you convert Razali’s salary into US Dollars, it will come up to roughly USD1.6 million. Compared to the average salary of the three Chinese banks, we will come up to the figure USD1.6million – USD230k= USD1.33 million.

In other words, the CEO of Syabas makes USD1.33 million more in a year compared to the CEO of Bank of China.

At the same time, Bank of China, ICBC and Algriculture Bank of China are three of the biggest banks in the world. While SYABAS is only responsible for water management in one state within Malaysia.

So, my question being: What is the justification for the UMNO appointed CEO of SYABAS to be paid USD1.33 million more than any of the CEO’s of the biggest banks in the world????

To me, this is just the tip of the ice berg on how UMNO robs the people blind using the various GLC’s. Whenever anyone questions such fact, UMNO will invoke the Melayu card and automatically turns it into a racist issue.

Bear in mind, SYABAS is planning to sue the Selangor state government. The reasongs given is not very clear, but my guess is, they want to use the summons to extort money from the people so that their CEO and company executives can continue to be paid exorbitantly without any justification.

No wonder the country is heading towards utter bankruptcy. They were milking the people into paying high rates of water so that they can enjoy exorbitant pay that doesn't match their experience and qualification. Not to mention the humongous amount of money to be made for UMNO and UMNOPUTRAs.

Study shows U.S. bank CEO pay dwarfs rest of world

NEW YORK | Wed Sep 23, 2009 10:43am EDT

NEW YORK (Reuters) - You wouldn't know it by his pay stubs, but Jiang Jianqing heads the world's largest bank.

Jiang, chairman of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, made just $234,700 in 2008. That's less than 2 percent of the $19.6 million awarded to Jamie Dimon, chief executive of the world's fourth-largest bank, JPMorgan Chase & Co.

The contrast illustrates the massive differences in pay among the CEOs of the world's top banks. The compensation of the CEOs of the largest U.S. banks towers above what's paid to banking chiefs in other parts of the world, according to a Reuters analysis of pay at the 18 biggest banks by market value.

Excessive compensation at banks is expected to be discussed this week when the Group of 20 nations meets in Pittsburgh. But consensus on the issue remains a distant hope as there continue to be vast differences in how bankers are paid, from the CEO on down.

The United States is home to four of the nine largest banks in the world -- JPMorgan, Bank of America Corp, Wells Fargo & Co and Citigroup Inc. It is also home to four of the six most handsomely rewarded bank CEOs.

"The U.S. executive pay levels have always dwarfed pay for companies elsewhere in the world," said Sarah Anderson, a fellow with the Institute for Policy Studies, which is critical of Wall Street, and co-author of the recent study "America's Bailout Barons."

"They have claimed it is impossible to recruit people without paying such compensation. Yet, if you look at the pay levels in Europe and in a lot of Asian countries, somehow they manage to find people who can run major global firms while making a fraction of what they make in the U.S.," she said.

"BASICALLY NOTHING"

China, for example, boasts three of the world's four biggest banks, yet the leaders of those banks -- Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank Corp and Bank of China -- are among the lowest paid of those surveyed by Reuters. The chairman and the president of each of the banks are paid roughly $230,000 per year.

"That's basically nothing for the leaders of these huge Chinese financial institutions," said Laura Thatcher, who leads law firm Alston & Bird's executive compensation practice in Atlanta. "I can't imagine why they would work for nothing."

So how, exactly, do the Chinese do it?

The Chinese banks, which are state-controlled, are typically led by bureaucrats appointed by the central government, and executive pay is capped.

Being the head of a Chinese bank does come with perks, just like running a U.S. bank. The top Chinese bank executive gets such non-cash benefits as a car, driver, medical insurance, food and housing. Experts note that many American and European executives receive similar benefits.

Some of the Chinese bank executives may be willing to accept the pay level of a top government official in the hope of moving into a powerful political position in the future.

But the executives also feel the consequences of a global downturn, just like some of the U.S. CEOs who were forced to skip bonuses or accept reduced salaries in the past two years.

ICBC's Jiang took a 10 percent pay cut in 2008, even as ICBC's profit jumped 36 percent to $16.23 billion.

LOST IN TRANSLATION?

Aside from China, all of the banking CEOs included in the survey made at least $1 million last year. Total compensation included publicly disclosed bonuses, stock awards, options and other perks.

HSBC Holdings, the world's third-largest bank by market capitalization, paid CEO Michael Geoghegan $2.8 million in 2008 -- much more than his Chinese counterparts but far less than JPMorgan paid Dimon.

Outside the United States, the highest-paid bank CEO works for Banco Santander SA, which has the seventh-largest market cap and paid Alfredo Saenz $13.66 million for 2008.

Royal Bank of Canada paid Gordon Nixon $9.5 million, while Australian CEOs Ralph Norris of Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Gail Kelly of Westpac Banking Corp made $8 million and $7.4 million, respectively.

Japan's biggest bank, Mitsubishi UFJ, did not release the pay details of its CEO.

Alan Johnson, a Wall Street compensation consultant with Johnson Associates, said much is lost in translation when comparing CEO pay from country to country.

And that will make it difficult for world leaders to find consensus at the G20 summit.

"Different cultures, different disclosures," Johnson said. "It just highlights the difficulty across the world in trying to make far-reaching pay decisions."

To Anderson, though, comparing bank CEO pay around the world makes the issue much more clear-cut.

"These kinds of figures undercut the main argument by the U.S. financial industry lobby that they will lose top talent to competitors in Europe or Asia," Anderson said.

Jho Low denies involvement in Sungai Besi airbase deal

International businessman of “mystery” Low Taek Jho has denied any involvement with the proposed redevelopment of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) Sungai Besi airbase.

Low was responding to allegations that he had received a RM500 million contract for the Sungai Besi project.

“I am not involved — that part I want to make clear. I understand that there are some allegations that I received a RM500 million contract for the Sungai Besi project.

“That is absolutely not true. I have no involvement whatsoever in the Sungai Besi project and from what I was made to understand, it is a project by 1MDB,” Low told The Star daily in an interview published today.

PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Akin had claimed recently that a “mystery man” known as “Low” had secured a RM500 million contract for the redevelopment project of the airbase.

The infamous businessman, known for his high-level connections to Hollywood superstars revealed that his first involvement in a government-type project in Malaysia was the Iskandar Development Region investment.

Low said that he had been roped in by a friend from Khazanah as he had close connections to Middle Eastern blue-chip investors.

“Eventually, both Mubadala and Kuwait Finance House’s RM1 billion entry into Iskandar was a big boost for Malaysia. They have shown their commitment as long-term investors and it is my view that Khazanah and Iskandar Investment Bhd have done a good job,” Low told The Star.

Low dismissed talk claiming that the Iskandar project was behind schedule, and insisted that the project was geared towards achieving “long-term sustainability.”

The young businessman also denied playing any role in 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Berhad), saying that he was only involved in the setting up of the Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA) which was eventually “federalised” to become 1MDB.

“I was involved in the setting up of TIA from January 2009 to mid-May 2009. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Mizan (Zainal Abidin) was kind enough to ask me to assist, given my relationship with the Middle East and insight I had on how they had set up their sovereign wealth funds.

“In addition to me, there was an important committee comprising key Malaysians such as Tan Sri Azlan Zainol among others, who provided important guidance.

“Subsequently, as I understand from news reports, TIA was federalised to become 1MDB. I don’t play any role in 1MDB, and I did not get compensated by -MDB or any other government-owned entities although some blogs have mentioned that I did. That is untrue,” added Low.

Just bring Paris to Malaysia and show Malaysians how you party, remember to bring in more Hollywood superstars. Malaysia boleh!

I wonder how he got Paris Hilton to take her tops off while on his yacht. That must be one hell of an achievement. But this is haram. The fact that foreign press referred t him as Malaysian is making Malaysia a disgrace to the Muslim world

Umno controls the minds of the Malays

Umno, being the largest political party in the country which has ruled over the last 50 years, has poisoned the minds of the Malays, feeding them lies that their position is under threat from the non-Malays, former health minister and MCA vice-president Chua Jui Meng said.

"All these years Umno has brought about this propaganda that the Malays were under threat. They try to control the hearts and minds of the Malays, telling them that the advancement of other races would make them poor. This propaganda to poison the minds of the Malays has resulted in the Malays not being able to see the true picture.

"The problem is not the other races but Umno itself. This message is important for all Malays in Malaysia. They must be aware of the truth. We have to break their mindset,” he said in an exclusive interview with FMT recently.

He was quick to add that the Malays in urban areas were realising the truth of Umno's political game plan. However, he said, the Malays in the outskirts, such as in his home state of Johor, still had the orthodox mentality that Umno was Malay and Malay is Umno.

“This kind of propaganda poisons the minds of the Malays," said the 67-year-old lawyer-turned- politician.

He added that access to the new media as well as a paradign shift in the mindset of the urban Malays would enable them to break away from the Umno mentality.

He stressed that Pakatan Rakyat should aspire to bring about the change in the mindset of rural Malays in order to see a change in the country.

"I have told (Opposition leader) Anwar (Ibrahim) that I am a Chinese leader in Pakatan wanting to help poor Malays. My heart goes out to them... we need to help these Malays.

“In Johor, there is a huge information gap. We have to narrow this gap. After 50 years in power, Umno is still spreading lies to the people through the mainstream media which is under Umno control,” he said.

Chua, however, said that Pakatan should not be only concentrating on uplifting the Malay community's economic status.

"We tend to forget other races. Like the Indians, they too have problems. Even when they are citizens of this country, their rights are denied. This is the way of Umno," said Chua, who was in MCA for 35 years before deciding to join PKR late last year.

Plans for Johor

Asked on his plans for Johor as the new state PKR chief, he said he was not a novice in politics and knows the ways of the BN from a political perspective, which uses the mainstream media to win votes.

He said since joining the opposition front, he had become more open to the alternative media.

He said on the part of the Chinese, the community had repented and now had an open mindset knowing that they could live in this country without being dependent on Umno.

"The Chinese community works hard and are smart. Their priority is education... although they only receive minimal assistance from Umno, they don't give up. When they are educated, they can be critical and analytical in the way they think," said the veteran politician.

He also revealed that there was no racial issue in Malaysia, although Umno insists on racialising each and every issue that crops up.

"The Malays are blinded by Umno. Look at the education system. It does not allow our students to be independent and become critical of things. We still have laws to control university students... all these are meant to control the mindset of the Malays.

He also slammed Umno for using Islam to further their political agenda despite indulging in immoral activities like corruption.

"Umno talks about religion. Do they really know what they are talking about? If they know what they are talking about, then why are they still doing wrong? If they hold on to the Quran, then they should also know that corruption takes them to hell... but they still go ahead and do it.

“This message should be sent to the Malays in rural areas: the rich in the country are not the Chinese but those in Umno and their cronies.

Utusan misleads again, says Pua

Utusan Malaysia’s sensational front page yesterday was misleading, said the supposed victim of the alleged deceit.

“What I actually said was for discounts to continue on houses valued at RM500,000 and below,” Tony Pua, the implied speaker of the scandalous words Mansuh diskaun bumiputera (Revoke bumiputera discounts), told FMT today.

The words make up yesteday’s front-page headline for Utusan, an Umno-affiliated newspaper that has often been accused of creating racial tension.

Pua, who is DAP’s chief economist, was among several speakers at Monday’s public forum on Selangor’s 2011 budget.

During the discussion, he urged the Selangor government to withdraw the seven percent bumiputera discount on luxury homes and commercial property valued at RM1 million or more, saying it would help improve competitiveness and restore investor confidence in the state.

“I am not against affirmative action, but not for homes that cost RM1 million or RM2 million,” he said.

He lamented today that the Utusan headline “gave the impression that I urged the Selangor government to remove the discounts on all Bumiputra properties.”

In a sidebar to the main story, Utusan quotes former menteri besar Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo as calling DAP a chauvinistic party.

In response to this, Pua said: “He’s coming from a party that’s only interested in protecting the privileges enjoyed by cronies, which is why he disagrees with me.”

In a tweet early yesterday, Pua expressed his astonishment over the Utusan headline.

“Wow, this is my second time hitting the Utusan Malaysia frontpage and that’s never a good thing; sigh,” Pua wrote.

DPP dropped over alleged ‘affair’ with Saiful

Deputy Public Prosecutor Farah Azlina Latif was dropped today from the team prosecuting Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for sodomy after allegations surfaced last week that she was romantically involved with complainant and chief witness Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail told reporters today that the junior prosecutor was removed to prevent negative public perception of the Sodomy II prosecution team.

“The Attorney-General’s Chambers cannot compromise on any issue that can tarnish the image or credibility of the department and we are looking at such matters very seriously.

“This can be very difficult for us but any personal matter, if it can have any implication in whatever form on the department, will be handled very seriously,” he told reporters at a press conference at his office, here.

Abdul Gani (pic) said Farah Azlina had to be dropped not because she was found guilty, but to avoid any negative public perception on the prosecution team.

“This move is also to ensure that the smooth running of the case is not affected,” he said.

However, he said Farah Azlina had very limited involvement in the case, pointing out that she only assisted in recording all notes on the proceedings.

“She had no access at all to the investigation papers or any confidential information that the prosecution has,” he said.

Abdul Gani also said that an internal investigation will be held to look into Raja Petra’s claims and action will be taken accordingly.

“We will make sure there will be an internal investigation into the matter and if there is something wrong, action will be taken,” said the A-G but he did not elaborate on what action would be taken if the allegations were true.

The Malaysian Insider reported the allegations last week after fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin alleged that Farah was having an “affair” with Saiful.

Yesterday, Anwar’s lawyers demanded that the Attorney-General respond to Raja Petra’s claims.

Lead counsel for Anwar’s defence team Sankara Nair had said that if the matter was left unaddressed, it could affect the on-going trial proceedings which is set to continue on August 2.

Anwar is being prosecuted by an eight men prosecution team comprising Mohd Yusof, Datuk Nordin Hassan, Mohamed Hanafiah Zakaria, Wong, Noorin, Mira Mirna Musa, Naidatul Athirah Azmad and Farah Azlina Latif.

Saiful and Farah have not made any comments on the allegations.

Anwar, the 62-year-old PKR de facto leader, is charged with sodomising Saiful at Unit 11-5-1 of the Desa Damansara Condominium in Jalan Setiakasih, Bukit Damansara here between 3.01pm and 4.30pm on June 26, 2008.

The former deputy prime minister has denied the charge, describing it as “evil, frivolous lies by those in power” when the charge was read out to him. He is charged under section 377B of the Penal Code and can be sentenced to a maximum of 20 years’ jail and whipping upon conviction. The trial is taking place 18 months after Anwar was charged in court in August 2008.

Anwar was charged with sodomy and corruption in 1998 after he was sacked from the Cabinet and was later convicted and jailed for both offences. He was freed in September 2004 and later resurrected his political career by winning back his Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat in a by-election in 2008, which had been held in the interim by his wife.

He had earlier led the opposition coalition, Pakatan Rakyat, to a historic sweep of five states and 82 parliamentary seats in Election 2008.

So RPK is 100% correct, not 40%.

Agreed, no matter how they twist it, we know what's real and what's not. We need more RPK in our country.

well, can we drop the case now?? In the USA, if DPP sleeps with witness or victim or whoever linked with the case, the Judge will throw out the case.

But this is not USA. In this country, black can be white and vice versa. All you need is cronies in all the important places. Luckily, we're not blind.

Factually and legally, there's no case against DSAI. Fabrication....Yes! Gani Patail says that Farah Azlina plays a small part as a Prosecutor and has no access to any files or documents pertaining to the case. She only does recordings....the question is, Is Farah a DPP or is she a lawyer's clerk? Waste of public funds paying a DPP to just do recordings. Baloney!!!

The Bar Council must carry out an investigation into this alleged affair and if necessary take the necessary punitive action against the DPP including disbarment. No 2 way about it.

DAP councillor denies graft claims, mulls legal action

Klang Municipal (MPK) councillor Tee Boon Hock today denied he was corrupt, and is considering suing The Star daily for making that allegation.

“Based on the description of the councillor provided in The Star report, I am the only who fits the profile,” the DAP councillor told reporters here.

Tee explained that he was the special assistant to Pandamaran assemblyman Ronnie Liu and acknowledged signing letters of support for contracts, saying it was a standard practice.

But he pointed out that the recommendations all carried a provision that they were written without any obligation on government officials to act in an improper manner.

“Where contracts are involved, the applications must comply with all MPK conditions, laws involving contracts and suppliers,” he said.

Tee also denied all allegations carried by The Star in its front-page report yesterday.

He said the article had seriously damaged his reputation and that of his family.

“My family and me have not applied for or received a single contract from MPK and we will not bid for any such contract as it would mean a direct conflict of interest,” he said.

Tee, in a joint press with state DAP leaders said no further letters of recommendation were issued by him after he ceased being Liu’s assistant Nov last year.

The third term local councillor added that he would ask MPK to set up a task force to determine the truth.

Meanwhile Liu, who was also at the press conference, said he was misquoted by the Star.

The Selangor executive councillor for local government denied confirming that his letterheads were misused.

“But I am leaving it to the mentri besar to conduct investigations,” he said.

Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim yesterday said that his administration had launched investigations two weeks ago against a DAP municipal councillor suspected of being involved in corruption

Khalid said an internal investigation and audit was being carried out into allegations that a state exco member’s official letterhead and seal were used by a councillor to support contracts for cronies and a family member.

The DAP veteran is then alleged to have secured local council contracts worth more than RM1mil for 20 since July 2008.

Khalid said the councillor is to be given the “benefit of the doubt” until investigations end.

Selangor DAP chief Ean Yong Hian Wah today also said the party would not protect any anyone misusing power.

“This is the difference between Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan Nasional. We don’t sweep things under the carpet,” he said.

UMNO and other BN reps have been doing it for donkey years. It is not good practice yet UMNO rep, and today, Khairy said, if reps are not allowed to do so, what are reps for.

Why hunt for Tee when BN/UMNO reps have been doing it?

DAP and other Pakatan parties must instruct that all reps stop endorsing all forms of application and all civil servants must ignore all endorsement, even if it comes from the PM or his office.

RM 1million consisting of 20 contracts which work out to an average figure of RM50,000.00 per contract. What a scoop for Star on reporting this sensation consisting of Peanuts when compared to billions which has disappeared!!!

I do read the Star. The Star is only professional when it serves the BN;' and the MCA's political agenda. Not otherwise.

We need real change and that real change can only come from the change in the federal government. That, I am certain.

Clever Chua Soi Lek is hiding behind The Star to fire pot shots so that he will not kena backlash & let the newspaper takes the hit.
Typical of a person who has to hide in a hotel to take pot shots of a different kind, cheating on his wife.

Praising Anwar, Nik Aziz rejects Umno again

Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat cemented his close ties with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today, by praising the Opposition Leader’s consistency in backing the PAS spiritual adviser’s rejection of Malay unity talks with Umno.

The Kelantan mentri besar is seen as Anwar’s strongest ally in PAS and has rejected several attempts by his own party colleagues to engage in talks with Umno.

Instead, Nik Aziz has consistently favoured working with DAP and PKR in Pakatan Rakyat (PR).

Backed by Anwar, Nik Aziz’s latest remarks are seen as his latest move to put an end to talk of political cooperation between PAS and Umno.

Umno has been pushing for Malay unity talks with PAS, in what is seen an attempt to split the three main parties in PR.

“Anwar has been consistent in upholding the truth that he has been fighting for,” said Nik Aziz in a statement today.

“Being consistent is not the same with being stubborn. It is a religious duty. I hope that this consistency in fighting for the truth would lead to victory for Pakatan Rakyat in the next general election,” said Nik Aziz who has been accused by Umno of being the main stumbling block to unity between the two parties.

Yesterday, Anwar said that the three PR parties – PAS, DAP and PKR – would not talk with Umno so long as conditions were imposed.

He claimed that any party looking for unity must begin on the right premise of upholding justice and ending oppression.

The PKR de facto chief added that Umno did not understand PAS; noting the grand old Malay party thought “if they can capture Nik Aziz, they would be able to control PAS.”

Yesterday, Umno information chief, Datuk Ahmad Maslan said his party would not stop its efforts to have unity talks with PAS despite opposition from Nik Aziz, who is also Kelantan Mentri Besar.

Ahmad said this was because Umno was confident there were certain groups in PAS which supported its efforts.

Ahmad stressed that PAS was not dependent on Nik Aziz to lead the party as there were others who could do so, such as the president, the deputy president and the party’s supreme council.

However, he agreed that with Nik Aziz’s statement that there was no need for a middleman nor any conditions to be set in order for a meeting to take place.

PAS leaders have repeatedly stressed that the party had closed the chapter on talks with Umno and now is focused only on strengthening ties within PR.

Nik Aziz is the best God's gift to Malaysian ! It would be very good if Niz can be Malaysian Prime Minister !!! Malaysians will be evry happy to have Nik as PM !!!!

Looks like UMNO is desperate cos all their counterparts/BN component party too weak to talk about. They trying to grasp the last straw for survival. And they can only see PAS as their last straw!
Unfortunately PAS is smart. They know they will most likely/very likely contract all the diseases of UMNO if they join them. PAS knows that slow, steady, sticking to righteous principles and stay faithful to PR will be fruitful for all in long run. It will also be good for our Nation! Go! PR Go!

Since the tsunami on March 8th, 2008, UMNO has been trying very hard to split the alliance of the three Parties---PAS, PKR and DAP. Before the disastrous outing in 2008, there was no hint of Malay unity! Why now? Because UMNO is weak! To strengthen its hold on Malay support, it wishes to prise open the unity of the three Parties---PAS, PKR and DAP.

PAS , thus, should be wary of the subtle move. Any keen observer could see through teh scheme! Refusing the hand of UMNO does not mean refusal the hand of Malays or Muslims! They are not the same; though UMNO would like to do so so as to tell the Malays that theri brethren have aourned the hand of friendship as lover would do !.

Am I right in my perception?

Note that, immediately after the loss of the jewel, Selangor, UMNO had tried very hard to get PAS support! But it failed. The spiritual leader knows all the tricks, being a wise man.He has seen enough! It is just like teaching a grandmotehr how to suck eggs!

Khalid calls Khir Toyo a ‘retired sand-miner’

Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim mocked Datuk Seri Dr Khir Toyo today, calling him a retired sand-miner, even as Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) continued their relentless campaign to discredit the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) administration.

“Khir Toyo knows every detail of what’s going on. I think he must be in the business before, mostly in the illegal one,” Khalid told reporters when asked about the latest spate of allegations made by the state opposition leader about rampant and illegal sand-mining activities in the state.

“I don’t want to comment on the retired sand miner,” he said dismissively.

Dr Khir was the former mentri besar of the previous Barisan Nasional (BN) administration in Selangor.

PR leaders have claimed that rampant sand mining is a problem inherited from Dr Khir’s government.

The Selangor state government has been under pressure since Umno leaders began accusing the state of mismanagement and suggesting that Khalid was a weak leader because he had done nothing to stop illegal sand mining.

Newspapers and television stations owned by Umno have been highlighting claims by state BN leaders about illegal sand mines in the state.

While the state government has acknowledged the existence of illegal activities, the administration has also pointed out that only federal authorities have prosecution powers.

Khalid’s government claimed it had made more than 40 police reports since last year.

In his latest allegations, Dr Khir said that mining activity in Batang Berjuntai had caused part of Sungai Selangor to be polluted by sludge and silt.

Dr Khir had also recently alleged that sand was being illegally mined in Dengkil, about 50m from two lakes within the Paya Indah Wetlands and Rasa in Hulu Selangor.

However, it was subsequently shown that the Dengkil mining operation was legal and an environmental impact assessment had been carried out

No wonder Khir Toyo knows so much the whereabouts of the illegal sand mining areas are. No wonder he can build his palace.

How else can he get rich. The wealth he accumulated would normally takes 8 generations of his, with income equivalent to his salary as MB. That guy should be tried for robbing the people's monies.

By citing Dengkil sand mining as illegal has enough to prove that Khir Toyo makes wrong accusation. He most probably knows so many sand mining cases, legal and illegal that he confuses which is which and picks the wrong one to label as illegal.

Bumiputra discounts for luxury homes in S’gor should be slashed

Tony Pua, the DAP Member of Parliament of Petaling Jaya Utara has called on the Selangor state government to cut the discounts of luxury homes and commercial properties in the state for bumiputras which will then improve competitiveness as well as restore the confidence of investors to Selangor. This came in the wake of recent reports that the FDI (Foreign Direct Investments) of Malaysia plunged to a staggering 81% for 2009.

Pua said “Sacred cows need to be slaughtered. The seven per cent discounts enjoyed by Malays and other Bumiputeras should be retained for homes below RM500,000. I am not against affirmative action but not for homes that cost RM1 million or RM2 million. No discounts should be given for commercial property above RM2 million. Effectively these units are being bought by middlemen, with a seven per cent discount, and then re-sold for profit of two per cent. Selangor had between 50 and 80 state-linked companies, all of whom are involved in property development. Although they are established for specific purposes but all are involved in property development because they can get cheap land from the state.

This is how UMNO ruled the country and right now, the country is really heading for bankruptcy !!!!

While Singapore’s economy is thriving and grew by 18.1 % , it is alarming that Malaysia’s FD1 is plunging seriously.

In 2008, our FDI was RM:23.47 Billion while our capital outflow was RM:48.06 Billion ( more than 2 times )
In 2009, our FDI plunged to RM:4.43 Billion but our capital outflow was more than 6 times the FDI , amounting to RM:25.77 Billion.
These figures was released by world investment report 2010 on 23/July/2010.
So the issue of our country going bankrupt soon is real and coming soon !!!!

Anybody for that matter who can afford above 1 million houses should pay extra 7% to subsidise the poor to buy low cost flats or houses.

why built a 24 million mansion just to house a Toyol, why not built a 24 million flat to house the poor? confiscate those corrupter's mansion and monies then built houses for the poor or rent and buy later.

By the way, did the Agong requested for a new Istana?

all bumi-discounts should be slashed because:

the rich don't need them and the poor have no money to buy them with or without discount!

Khalid should not use public money to wage ‘information war’ on BN – Umno and MCA

Abdul Shukor Idrus, the Information Chief of the Selangor Umno has hit out at the RM15million allocation by the Selangor government to counter react to the ‘biased news coverage’ of media owned by the BN (Barisan Nasional) government. The Mentri Besar of Selangor, Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim today announced the allocation for the Information War in the state. Abdul Shukor said that the move showed that the move by Khalid proved that the PR (Pakatan Rakyat) was ‘desperate’.

He said "Even if they want to take it out on us, they should not use the public's money. They should use money from their own party. Why should (the state government) waste public funds just for their political endeavours? The move was to counter what he boasted was the “success” of Umno's 'Save Selangor' campaign. The campaign, featuring PKR defector Ezam Mohd Nor (left) in the three-week-long ceramah series, is an important tool to expose what he alleges are "problems in Pakatan Rakyat's administration". Whatever Ezam had said (in the ceramah) is worrying them, that is why they are running helter skelter, and (feel) so pressured that they have to use public funds to explain their position,"

Theng Book, the Complaints Bureau chief of MCA too hit out at Khalid and his administration for using the tax-payers’ money and that the funds should instead be used to for upgrades of school facilities or broadband. He said “If the Selangor state government uses (public) money to attack BN, and Khalid personal political enemies, that is a total abuse of the rakyat's money,”

what's wrong using the People's money to protect the people's state from war against their enemies and robbers like BN?

Petronas billions belong to the UMNO goons ?
Why were the accounts not available to public scrutiny ?
The rakyat has the right to know where these billions gone to and what it is used for.

Definitely nothing wrong with enlightening the public on the lies and misdeeds of umno and its gangsters. However, I would prefer to help the poor and needy with the RM15million rather than to use the money to ward of the attacks of the scums and bastards. After all what they say or do will not harm the righteous. PR will gain more mileage if the people see that PR is looking after the welfare of the people. There is nothing to gain by countering their lies. Everyone know their dirty tactics.
Please don't throw good money after bad money. It's also a waste of time, money and energy to pay attention to these crooked bastards. Let God take care of them and you take care of the people.

Protesters outside Oxford University against Taib

Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud was supposed to give a talk at Inaugural Oxford Global Islamic Branding and Marketing Forum in Oxford University. Instead of greeted by jubilant crowd, some 40 protesters gathered outside the university and held banners that read, 'Penan tribe say NO to logging' and 'Malaysia: Stop destroying the Penan tribe'.

Taib also received a letter from British MPs asking him to check on reports of sexual abuse against Penan women. Due to the crowd outside the university, Taib was forced to enter the building through a rear entrance. Blinds were also pulled down to avoid glaring from the protesters.

Representatives of eight European human rights and environment group produced and signed a declaration of protest before handing it in to the University's Vice Chancellor, Prof Andrew Hamilton. The letter condemned Taib's business as notorious. Furthermore, the protesters also said the university should not send invitation to Taib as one of the speakers at the forum.

Opposition has ‘proven’ that they cannot run a government, especially S’gor - DPM

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the deputy prime minister has slammed the opposition party yet again claiming that they have ‘proven themselves’ to be incapable of running a government, particularly the one in Selangor because they only know how to make promises without thinking or knowing if they can fulfill them. Muhyiddin said “In Selangor, the state government was faced with various issues such as the sand mining issue, which he said, was in stark contrast to their claims of being an efficient government.”

He added that "They have no ability to manage the state economy although they claim to be an efficient government. In reality, they only talk... they talk like a parrot, they say things without knowing the meaning. The failure of the opposition to run their administration smoothly had affected confidence among investors towards the country, especially in Selangor. Should we trust them? I want the people to be aware of this and not destroy our future by believing in the lies and allegations being spread by the opposition parties when they themselves are not capable of delivering their own promises. Unlike the opposition pact, Barisan Nasional had proven its capabilities and that it had now overcome its past weaknesses, with the leaders now going to the ground to meet the people. We are now a true government for the people,"

Umno slams opposition and those associated in ‘Save Selangor’ campaign

Umno launched their ‘Save Selangor’ campaign at Port Klang over the weekend with Senator Ezam Mohd Noor giving his comments about the current political scenario of the state, slamming PR (Pakatan Rakyat), its leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the media who have given prominence to the opposition which includes Mkini. Ezam said "What is their (Mkini) agenda? I have visited the palace site to defend it, not to defend the contractors who didn't pay the workers. But why are they harping on it? Why are they calling it 'palace of tears'? Mkini is Anwar's keparat (bastard). They are working for Anwar,"

There will be another 18 more ceramahs to follow as part of their effort to recapture Selangor from the hands of the opposition. Satim Diman, the state assemblyman for Sri Serdang slammed the Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim where he said "MB Khalid Ibrahim is stupid. He is not a politician. Could not even get his own party correct,"

A BUNCH OF BLADY ASSHOLES TRYING TO SAVE SELANGOR?....FROM WHOM?....FROM THE CORRUPTED INDO DENTIST, KHIR TOYOL.....

UMNO YOU ARE A BANKRUPT RACIST POLITICAL PARTY, YOU NEED SCUMBAGS TO WIN THE RAKYAT OVER, IT IS A JOKE OF THE CENTURY!

MORONS LIKE YOU ONLY KNOWS HOW TO WAG YOUR TAIL TO YOUR UMNO MASTER FOR P I G BONES

YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A STRAY DOG..

SO ANJING KEPARAT STAY IN YOUR KENNEL AND BE QUITE

We know for sure all UMNO leaders and their leeches are ganging up to do whatever posssible to tarnish the Pakatan Rakyat Selangor State Government. At this point in time, MCA leaders have also been trying to lend a hand to UMNO to damage the PR in Selangor.

We know for a fact that PR State Government have tightened the rules that make it difficult for those stooges to have their way unlike BN where they all rules were loosened previously. As an observer with no political affliliation to any political party, I am definitely firm to say that the Selangor State Government leaders are as smart and intelligent to run the State in their own way to save money for the rakyat. Do you think they just want to run the State just for one term (5 years) where the rakyat will kick them out in the next election? The bottom line is....every possible way to kill them politically so that the rakyat will not support them again.

Don’t call me a political prostitute, I did not receive a sen! – Ezam

Senator Ezam Mohd Noor, the former youth chief of PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) who is now with Umno has called for opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is his former boss to be removed as the Selangor state economic advisor because he is a ‘tool of the Jews’ and for being a ‘traitor. He was speaking at the Umno organized ‘Save Selangor’ rally in Port Klang where he said that Anwar was ‘in cahoots with the Jews’ after he apologized for initially condemning them for the attack of a flotilla aid in Gaza.

Ezam said "In Malaysia, he portrayed himself fiercely against the Jews. Outside, however, he bowed to them. Anwar had helped his friend Paul Wolfowitz, who is said to have been embroiled in a scandal with a female employee in the World Bank. This is Anwar, the human, the traitor. Where is our dignity as the people of Selangor? If we have dignity, we must rise to defend our honour and remove Anwar Ibrahim from Selangor. I'm not a political prostitute. People say I was paid to make the decision (to join Umno). But it was not because of money. I did not receive a cent or two million. None. BN has a record of building this country. We must defend what the previous leaders have built, not Pakatan Rakyat,”

you are simply an opportunist and I will address you as an UMNO mole while you were in PKR and you are also a p*g farking bastard, I pray that you will soon drop dead

This bast-ard Ezam is crying out loud now that he was yet to get full payment from UMNO.
Give him a couple more months and if he did not get his money, he will call it quits with UMNO and maybe, jump ship again...oops ! no more ships la..only 'sampans' available.

People like him are only fake muslims, and their brains is only interested in how to swindle people's money rather than to earn it through hard work and cleanly.
He is just a political opportunist !

This is the man who was talking about boxes of evidence against the UMNO leaders. This so called anti Jew sold his principles if any for the proverbial 'thirty pieces of silver'.Now he is with 'clean' UMNO and is not a TRAITOR of PKR, is he?This bastard is only prostituting himself to the highest bidder.

He had better stop his anti Jew rhetoric as the large number of Jews who are free to come and go into this country may take offense and shoot him like the rabid dog that he is.Those Jews have diplomatic immunity given since Mahathir's time.

Harussani must resign, says Mahfuz

PAS vice-president Datuk Mahfuz Omar today said Perak Mufti Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria must resign for allegedly lying that his meeting with Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Hasan Ali was over political co-operation between the Islamist party and Umno.

Mahfuz said Harussani has become a political tool for Umno.

“Tan Sri Harussani should resign as Perak Mufti as he had said before that as a mufti, he would not lie, but Datuk Hasan’s statement showed that Tan Sri Harussani had lied,” said Mahfuz (picture) in a statement today.

Hasan said his meeting with Harussani, a conservative seen as being close to Umno, was part of his many engagements in his capacity as a Selangor state executive councillor responsible for Islamic affairs and Malay customs.

He also denied discussing Malay unity issues with the Perak mufti.

“It was clear that the meeting did not touch on PAS-Umno co-operation. The meeting was held prior to the national council of Islamic affairs meeting,” said Mahfuz.

“And Datuk Hasan said he was not tasked by PAS to discuss with Harussani on PAS-Umno co-operation,” he added.

Harussani had insisted that the meeting with Hasan was over Malay unity but there was no discussion on Umno-PAS political co-operation.

“Datuk Hasan’s statement has exposed Harussani's lies. His dishonesty and his willingness to be an Umno agent has embarrassed Islamic clerics and all state muftis,” said Mahfuz.

“I demand Tan Sri Harussani to apologise openly to PAS, the Muslim community for his lies. I also hope that he will stop serving Umno’s interest,” said the Pokok Sena MP.

Harussani had earlier claimed that he has met with leaders from both parties to discuss Malay unity issue.

The government-appointed Islamic cleric also claimed last week that Datuk Seri Najib Razak has agreed to work with PAS in the interest Malay-Muslim unity and wanted the matter to proceed unconditionally.

i agree with YB Mahfuz that the Mufti must resign. He is purely an UMNO tool and should keep out from politic altogether. His controversial statements and edicts have caused more misunderstanding than good. Resign now!

No Mufti should be a tool of any political party and should not be involved in politics. Mufti should focus their attention now to counter the wrong perception of Islam and promote the teaching of Islam as a religion of peace and harmony.

a person without principle is also one of loose moral fiber and would do the bidding of his or her master without, be it right or wrong, without any conscience.

That he should lie and mislead the public makes his position untenable anymore. He lacks credibility and is an embarassment.

Umno to continue effort to discuss unity with PAS: Ahmad

Umno will continue to find ways to discuss unity with PAS although PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has rejected such talk, Umno information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan said.

He said Umno would not give up on the issue because the party believed that there were leaders in PAS who were in favour of such effort.

“Nik Aziz can say anything he wants but there are other groups in PAS and PAS is not just about Nik Aziz... others might have different views,” he told reporters after opening the Felda Management Seminar here today.

He was asked to comment on the refusal of Nik Aziz to discuss Malay unity with Umno, preferring instead to talk about federal-state relations

BN porn actor says Guan Eng behaving like ‘opposition’

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek today accused Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng of behaving like he was still in the opposition for initiating the ongoing spat with a federal officer.

Dr Chua (picture) mocked Lim’s attitude and how he had chosen to handle the tiff, pointing out that the DAP secretary-general could have used a more civilised channel to voice his grievances against State Development Officer (SDO) Nik Ali Mat Yunus.

“Look at how Lim Guan Eng handled the issue with the SDO. From there, you can generally conclude that he (Lim) himself is not aware of his own role as an administrator,” he told reporters after opening the Selangor MCA convention at Centro here this afternoon.

He said that as the chief minister, Lim had the right and the responsibility to evaluate Nik Ali’s performance and come up with an official verdict through the state government.

“He can evaluate the SDO and make a decision during the state executive council meetings. Through that channel, he can present the state government’s views to the Chief Secretary to the Government,” said Dr Chua.

He added that the chief secretary would have “no choice” but to accept and respect the views of the state government.

“But by forwarding your views out in the open like that, the SDO would be forced into retaliating to defend himself.

“In the end, the issue does not get solved,” he said.

Dr Chua claimed that if the spat, which has now turned into a full-fledged war between the Penang state government and the federal civil service, failed to be settled, it would be the people who would suffer.

“He (Lim) still acts like he is from the opposition party although they are actually the ruling government in Penang,” he said.

The debacle between Lim and Nik Ali began when Pulau Betong assemblyman Muhamad Farid Saad alleged recently that illegal sand excavation was taking place at a plot in Kampung Kenanga, which had been earmarked for a government polytechnic.

Lim had responded to the allegation by saying that the state had not been able to probe the matter as Nik Ali was not co-operative.

He had also accused Nik Ali of refusing to respect the principles of accountability by answering queries on the Penang Botanical Garden, the illegal sand excavation at the Balik Pulau polytechnic and how federal projects were being carried out without approval from the local councils.

The accusation escalated into a verbal war between Nik Ali and Lim with the federal officer retaliating by calling Lim “insolent, uncivilised and a coward” at an Umno function.

Since then, other leaders including DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang and even Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan have joined the fray, turning the spat into an all-out battle between the civil service and the DAP.

Mohd Sidek has so far accused Lim of being “excessive” in his remarks and has given his assurance that Nik Ali would not be reprimanded for criticising a chief minister.

Lim then retaliated by accusing Mohd Sidek of preferring to protect “little Napoleans” than defend the integrity and professionalism of the civil service.

Chua Soi Lek, you are the least qualified of political people to comment on Lim Guan Eng. What Lim Guan Eng had done in 30 months, BN, Gerakan, MCA cannot do in 20 years!

Penangnites are very happy and very proud of the progress they had made under PR, and we are confident, in 15 years time Penang will be among the best in Southeast Asia. Remember, Lim Guan Eng has the support of all races in Penang, not only the Chinese but the Malays in the kampungs. Just you go into a Malay kampung and see how many people will meet you except those UMNO goons, but just see the kampung folks welcoming Lim Guan Eng in the Malay heartlands in Seberang.

You would be better off acting in porn videos and showing your well endowed organ( medicated assisted of course) to Malaysians and ask your colleagues in MCA to shoot your action. You are just such a lost cause. Just count how many of the 15 Parliamentary seats you can hold on to after PRU! Bungkus lah racist MCA!

I really have zero respect to this Soi Lek guy...somebody please give to him a large mirror and let him mirror himself...hasn't he realized what he did 3 years ago is actually even more disgusting!!! How many of Malaysian people think he has the 'quali' to comment our CM???? He better gives an official statement to support the little Napoleon and then we all know what to do with MCA in the next GE....

The kow tow politics of MCA and Gerakan are over! We do not want politicians who dare not go against the excesses of UMNO! We want affirmative, competent, accountable, transparent politics for Malaysians.

Chua Soi Lek, a good example of your leadership is, immediately after you won the MCA presidency with a split decision, the PKFZ scandal becomes an NFA! Do you expect Malaysians to respect your leadership? Lim Guan Eng is leagues ahead of you, let me tell you, MCA, Gerakan stands no chance in Penang for the next 20 years!

Malaysians of all races reject UMNO/BN, and especially you. Malays will not accept someone who commits unnatural sex and which was seen on video by all Malaysians! You are Malaysia's porn superstar and you are not qualified to even polish Lim Guan Eng's apples! Let those whores polish your apples!

Dr M’s smut filter strategy welcomed, says Rais

The Information Communication and Culture Ministry welcomes former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad views on the need to filter pornography on the Internet, said its minister Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim.

“I greatly welcome Tun’s (Mahathir’s) views because we appear to be alone in voicing out against this negative influence. If more leaders voice out against pornography, the easier it will be for us to tackle this issue.

“There are certain quarters who have doubts about legal provisions to tackle the menace. Actually, we have Section 265 of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Comission Act to handle this,” he told reporters after attending a memorial organised by the National Archives for the late Tun Hussein Onn (Malaysia’s third prime minster) at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) here today.

Also present were Tun Hussein’s widow, Tun Suhailah Tan Sri Mohamed Noah Omar, Rais’ wife Datin Seri Masnah Rais, National Archivs director-general Datuk Sidek Jamil and UTHM vice chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Noh Dalimin.

The media recently reported Dr Mahathir as saying that he was becoming increasingly worried about the spread of smut on the Internet and that he felt it should be filtered as it was contributing to the increase in sexual crimes in the country.

Rais said it was still too early to come up with a mechanism to block pornography on the Internet, but nevertheless, discussions in an objective manner would be carried to tackle the problem so that it was not misinterpreted as censoring the Internet.

He said if the source of pornography was from within the country, the authorities could act but at the moment could do very little to prevent its spread if the source was from overseas.

“The is a need for an internal mechanism to check the spread of pornography on the Internet. At the same time, parents too need to do their part to protect children from this scourge,” he added.

rais and tun, you just TURN-OFF YOUR INTERNET ..... that can do already . no need to busy body kacau orang lain freedom of info macam orang kurang ajar !!! what you don't want to know or see doesn't mean we have to follow you like living in ZAMAN DAHULU which you two are pratically doing so !!!

filtering smut sites is good. But unfortunately technology cannot differentiate between smuts and politics. And this old dinosaur will use this chance to filter opposition sites. Do not trust him.
and Internet censorship has already begun. Lots of sites arent working anymore
they actually want to control what you can read on the net. they want to shut out news portals like malaysia today and malaysiakini and other such sites.

Dr. M brought smut to our homes through TV, Radio, Newspapers, Internet, etc when he framed Anwar and took him through the courts. And now he plays the saint? BN politicians are sleazeballs - Just look at all the lurid cases of sex, greed and corruption that envelope their miserable political careers!

Internet is not the sole reason. You have porn vcd/dvd pedlars in every coffee shop but no action taken. Ask you to teach sex education, you rejected. You don't arrest and charge porn stars to set as example, instead you glorify them by giving and endorsing them with high positions. Parents busy making ends meet, no time to guide or teach their kids. Cyber cafe flourishing with gambling and sex games. Lastly, lock the computer in your room when you are not at home. Don't always because of others' irresponsibility, you pass more laws to control us in the guise of protecting them. Why the good citizens always suffer from other people's irresponsibilities?

Perak Mufti betrayed his profession

PKR has accused Perak Mufti Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria of failing to be true to his profession, saying that he was more of a politician than a cleric.

PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution said the religious scholar’s credibility and piety was questionable, claiming he had failed to show respect towards his own knowledge on Islam.

“Where was the voice of this mufti when (PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri) Anwar (Ibrahim) was attacked with false and defamatory allegations? Why did he not do justice to the knowledge that he had learned as a religious scholar?” the Machang MP said during a ceramah at Kampung Linggi here last night.

Saifuddin was attacking Harussani for allegedly playing politics when he went on a crusade on behalf of Umno to court PAS and claimed he had played the role of mediator in unity talks between the two parties.

“He can talk now but where was he when Anwar was wrongfully accused of ‘zina’ (wrongful sex act). Does he not know that in the Quran, a Muslim should reject any act of defaming or accusing a fellow Muslim brother of committing ‘zina’ without producing four witnesses who had seen this act being carried out with their own eyes.

“I am sure the mufti knows of this law but where was he when this accusation was made against Anwar?” Saifuddin said.

He further slammed Harussani for betraying his own professional integrity when he failed to speak out against the many “corrupt” practices by Umno and the Barisan Nasional.

“He (Harussani) was then a datuk and now he is a tan sri. So when Umno’s commits corruption, when there is obvious mismanagement of the country, when the nation’s riches are squandered away to fill the bellies of our politicians, where was his voice? It was not there,” he said.

Saifuddin said the government-appointed cleric had only decided to speak up during a time of crisis for Umno, indicating his subservience to the ruling coalition.

“When the people reject Umno, it is this time that he starts to say – come, Umno and PAS, sit together and discuss unity. It is only now that he makes some sound,” he said.

He claimed that the sudden rekindling of the Umno-PAS issue was not a surprise and was proof of Umno’s insincerity and desperation.

“The sudden offer made by Umno to PAS is no surprise. They are courting PAS now, on the pretext that this union would be for the good of the Malays and for Islam.

“They are trying to give the impression that since Islam is a religion that champions unity and peace, they were willing to put the past behind and unite with the enemy.

“They claim that if they failed to do this, if Umno and PAS do not unite, there would be political insecurity... the power of Malay politics would be threatened and there would be no future for the Malay race and Islam,” Saifuddin said.

He explained that this sudden offer of unity was only made because Umno knew it had lost the support of the Malay community and was willing to unite with PAS to strengthen itself.

“If we observe our country’s political history, we will notice this trend. This unity issue only gets raised when Umno feels its political support is at its weakest.

“If Umno feels its position is strong, it would not even blink an eye at PAS or any other Malay parties,” he said.

Saifuddin pointed out that Umno first courted PAS following the 1969 general election when the then Umno and the Alliance coalition had suffered significant losses.

“In Selangor, Perikatan and Umno won 20 while the opposition won 20 seats too. They could not appoint a mentri besar. In Perak, the opposition won more seats than Perikatan. But since at the time, the opposition did not have the cooperation like we have in Pakatan Rakyat today, they could not form government.

“But this was when Umno spoke of unity to PAS, leading to PAS’ union with Perikatan (Alliance), which later became the Barisan Nasional,” he said.

Saifuddin said however that when Umno regained its power over the years, it booted out PAS and ignored the Islamist party’s pleas to hold talks for the good of the race, religion and the country.

“But Umno said no. They said, why should we speak with you? We are strong. We are the government and the government can do no wrong. We know what is best for the people,” Saifuddin said.

He claimed that PAS had joined the BN in all sincerity, thinking it was the best option for the sake of Islamic unity but had been left sorely disappointed.

“See how insincere they were. That is why we are confident that this round, the people have reached a realisation and are ready to give a chance to the PR,” he said.

The Umno-PAS unity talks issue was raised again recently when Harussani made claims that he had met with leaders from both parties who were seeking his views on ways to unite the two rivals.

His statement was, however, dismissed by PAS vice-presidents Datuk Mahfuz Omar and Salahuddin Ayub who said that the Islamic party had never asked Harussani to act as mediator. They even challenged Harussani to name the leaders but the cleric refused to do so.

Selangor state executive councillor Datuk Hasan Ali yesterday cleared the air and admitted to meeting with Harussani two months back but stressed that it had nothing to do with Umno-PAS unity.

In response, Harussani confirmed the meeting today and admitted that the meeting did not touch on political cooperation between the two opposing parties but had centred on Malay unity.

Pls la UMNO..the people have this question for you:
Before 2008 how many times you guys ask PAS for discussion on Malay unity..in 2004 why dont you guys ask PAS to unite for Malay unity??? If you guys so concern about Malay unity then why dont UMNO pay oil royalty to Kelantan? and yeah how about Malay in PKR and DAP..dont you guys want us to unite with UMNO also??

Like Proton, now weak and going bankrupt is seeking for mergers to survive like a leech living off others. Same same scenario with UMNO. Come on, if PAS is strong why want to merge, esp with an evil and insncere UMNO who is on the verge of collapse.

PAS should take a close eye on Hassan Ali . Don,t be surprise that there are several "musuh dalam selimut " inside PAS working for UMNO interest.

Daylight become religious Come night and dark become HANTU betraying his won profession using God sacred name !!!
