Selangor PAS denies supporting Khusrin pick
Selangor PAS today denied that it supports the appointment of Datuk Khusrin Munawi as the state secretary and stressed that it would back the state government’s move to amend the constitution.
Selangor PAS information chief Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir also defended the party’s state chief Datuk Hasan Ali, saying he has always been consistent with Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders on the issue.
Roslan added that Selangor PAS would continue to oppose any form of interference by the federal government in the appointment of senior state government officers.
“Selangor PAS would like to stress that the statement made by Datuk Hasan yesterday (January 12) at the Gombak Setia community service centre on the appointment of Selangor state secretary was consistent with the stand of the party and the president,” said Roslan in a statement.
He added that Hasan’s statement had been manipulated to create the perception that the party was not in agreement with its PR partners.
Roslan said the Selangor PAS was also considering taking action against news site Malaysiakini for what he described as its misleading report.
He said that Hasan and senior leaders from Selangor PAS also met with party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang yesterday to show him the video clip of the press conference.
Hasan, a Selangor executive councillor, was reported to have said that the party would be able to co-operate with Khusrin and warned the state government against attacking the former Islamic affairs department chief, adding that this would affect the relationship with civil servants.
The report resulted in a reminder from PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali for the state party leaders not to contradict PR leaders.
Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim has rejected the January 1 appointment of Khusrin, claiming that he was not consulted despite the state ruler’s agreement to the selection.
The state government is also planning to amend the state constitution on January 24 to restore its powers in the appointment its own senior officers.
The state government had organised a special prayers session and a public rally to address the issue of Khusrin’s appointment at the Melawati Stadium in Shah Alam.
The event was also attended by Hadi and PAS spiritual advisor, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

UMNO is working hard to create confusion ...divide the opposition, sow discords between palace and state government, pit Malays against non-Malays ...if any of these pick up and become a crisis, the Federal government will then come in and take over the State government.
Nurul Izzah urges calm in ‘azan dispute’
Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar called on protesters today to remain calm in seeking the truth over claims that a mosque here was pressured to stop broadcasting its call to prayer on loudspeakers.
The PKR vice-president also sought to determine who had ordered the mosque committee to lower the volume of the broadcasts and whether the relevant authorities have written guidelines on the matter.
“Truth must be sought in a civil manner. Moderation and harmony must be preserved. Therefore, I urge all protesters to work with me in finding the truth on Al-Ikhlasiah Mosque issue,” said Nurul Izzah in a statement.
A text message has been circulating over the past few days urging Muslims to gather outside the mosque in Pantai Dalam here, claiming that a “Chinese lawyer” had demanded the mosque stop the “azan” (call to prayer) recital.
The Kuala Lumpur Pekida has admitted that it would lead today’s protest after Friday prayers, claiming that the mosque was forced to give in to the unnamed lawyer’s demand after the latter complained to several leaders including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Today, Nurul Izzah urged leaders to whom the complaint had been addressed to come forward and clarify their responses.
“Who made the report and was the content of the letter investigated to find the truth?” she asked.
“If it is true that the letter was sent officially to the prime minister, Datuk Raja Nong Chik Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharon, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon and religious advisor to prime minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Mat Zin, what was their response?
“The protesters must ask those addressed in the letter, what was their response?” she said
The Muslim call for prayer’s five recitals daily first became a political issue in 2008, when Selangor Executive Councillor Teresa Kok was arrested under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for allegedly asking a Puchong mosque to stop playing the azan over its loudspeaker.
Kok, who was released a week after her arrest, denied the allegation while the mosque’s committee members also came forward to defend the Selangor DAP chairman.

Azan dispute solved as ‘MCA man’ moves out
Protesters from Pekida burn effigies in mock outrage outside the Al- Ikhlasiah mosque after Friday prayers yesterday.
The Coalition of Malaysian NGOs claimed today that there was no longer any dispute surrounding a MCA member who “demanded” a city mosque to lower the volume of the daily “azan”, as he had apparently “moved away” from his own home in Pantai Hill Park.
Mohd Jurit Ramli, who is secretary-general of the coalition of NGOs, said that he was informed that the individual, who is also a lawyer had written an email to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) saying that he wanted to move away from his condominium in Pantai Hill Park for “safety reasons.”
Pantai Hill Park is approximately one kilometre from the mosque.
“I have been informed by the authorities which received his complaint that they have received an email two or three days ago saying that the individual himself now wants to move because he fears for his safety..that is the information we received,” Jurit told The Malaysian Insider this morning.
“We consider this matter solved. We do not want this to drag on any further. We want a peaceful environment, if it is not peaceful, there will be no content,” said Jurit.
The “MCA member” has been accused of penning a letter to the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) on December 20 last year, complaining about the volume of the Muslim’s “azan” or the call to prayer blared every morning over the loudspeakers at a mosque near his residence. His letter had sparked an outrage among the Muslim community, leading to a protest by members of welfare group Pekida and Malay rights group Perkasa outside Masjid al-Ikhlasiah in Kampung Kerinchi yesterday afternoon.
The group also called for the MCA man to be arrested under the ISA for threatening national harmony and demanded that he issued an open apology to the Muslim community.
They distributed the fax purportedly sent by the MCA member to PMO where he revealed that he has been a party member since 1998.
He also said that he has been living in Pantai Hill Park for five years and was roused in the mornings by the mosque’s call for prayers.
“Several months ago, I hear the sound from the mosque to be very loud until that it woke me every morning at 5.45am,” the letter read.
“I respect the position of Islam as the country’s official religion under the Federal Constitution but my right to sleep, rest and pray in peace should also be respected.
“I am of the view that loudspeakers in any house of worship of any religion should be controlled by the authorities through clear and scientific rules like the calculation of decibels, and should not flout the law.
“Like in my hometown of Seremban, the sounds from the mosque is softer and more controlled,” he continued.
It is understood that the man identified had once worked for a former MCA president who was also a Cabinet member.
The man could not be contacted for confirmation that he had written the letter, which was carbon copied to several ministers in PMO.
However Jurit said today that the individual still owed the Muslims in the area a public apology.
“This move is needed to soothe the situation and we want everyone to respect the rights and religion of other races,” he said.
Jurit admitted that his group had not met the lawyer personally or visited his residence.
“Why should the authorities entertain the complaints of an individual? Unless he represents an organisation or a party...no one should entertain his requests,” said Jurit.
Federal Territory Islamic Department (Jawi) director Datuk Che Mat Che Ali said recently that no directive was issued to the mosque here to lower the volume of its loudspeakers. The mosque concerned is situated near a new commercial development area called Bangsar South, and was first opened 30 years ago, while the lawyer only moved to the Malay-majority neighbourhood about five years ago.
Pantai Dalam used to be dominated by squatters and low-cost flats but has seen the development of luxury apartments and commercial property in recent years.
The Muslim call for prayer first became a political issue in 2008 when Selangor executive councillor Teresa Kok was arrested under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for allegedly asking a Puchong mosque to stop playing the azan over its loudspeaker.
Kok, who was released a week after her arrest, denied the allegation while the mosque’ committee members also came forward to defend the Selangor DAP chairman.

Utusan suspends senior reporter pending inquiry
Utusan Malaysia has gone ahead and suspended senior reporter Hata Wahari pending an inquiry for being highly critical of the Umno-owned daily’s opinion pieces.
It is understood that the suspension will officially take effect this coming Monday, January 17 which is the first day of the domestic inquiry.
“After taking into consideration the seriousness of misconduct allegations against you, the company has decided to suspend your service effective January 17, 2011 until the domestic inquiry on your actions has been completed,” said Utusan’s suspension letter addressed to Hata.
The letter, which was sent to Hata on January 11, stated that the senior reporter would be denied entry into any Utusan office throughout the course of the inquiry, and needed to seek permission from the company management if he wanted to enter the office.
“During the period of your suspension, you are required to be in a place where the company management can contact you, and you are not allowed to leave your neighbourhood,” said the letter.
Hata, who is also president of the National Union of Journalists Malaysia (NUJ) has been attacked by his own company for issuing statements to news portals The Malaysian Insider, Malaysiakini, Merdeka Review, and The Sun newspaper between September 21 and October 14 last year.
In an immediate response, NUJ secretary-general V. Anbalagan said that it was “normal procedure” for employers to suspend their staff pending a public inquiry.
He said however that the union will adopt a “one step at a time” approach first before taking any further action.
“Despite appeals from international organisations such as the The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and local NGOs, Utusan Malaysia was adamant in having a domestic inquiry...so we will see how it goes,” Anbalagan told The Malaysian Insider.
The IFJ has joined a growing chorus here demanding Utusan call off its inquiry on Hata. The NUJ president had recently caused a stir when he urged the authorities to act against Utusan’s editors for stoking racial sentiments in its reports.
Hata also blamed the drop in the national daily’s sales on the editors for pushing what he called racial rhetoric.
IFJ director Jacqueline Park told Utusan last week that Hata was bound to uphold the global reporting body’s code of ethics as union chief.
“No journalist can be disciplined in any way for asserting his or her rights to act according to their conscience,” she had said.

why are you still in Utusan? Just walk away. There is no hope left for this paper. It shouldn't be called a newspaper but instead a propaganda paper. Other than the thrash reporting, the language itself is atrocious. It's embarrassing that a malay paper that prided itself as the champion for the malay cause can't even write using their language properly. Nowadays if I get Utusan for free, I just use it to clean my cats' dung.
Putrajaya denies order to lower azan volume
Jamil has dismissed online reports of the purported complaint by the 'MCA' lawyer as a political ploy
The federal government confirmed today that it did not issue any orders to stop loudspeakers from being used in a city mosque during the call for azan, after an “MCA youth member” had apparently “demanded” that the mosque lower the azan volume.
Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, who is Minister in the Prime Minister’s department in charge of religious affairs, admitted today that the ministry had received a complaint letter from the “MCA man”, who is a lawyer.
The ministry, he said, had sent officials to the mosque to investigate but found that the individual’s complaint was a “non-issue.”
“There have been no written instructions, it’s just that we received a complaint letter from the complainant. Upon receiving the letter, we went to the mosque to have a look for ourselves.
“Actually, there is no issue here...no orders have been issued. The mosque committee did not do anything, and that’s the reality of the situation,” Jamil told The Malaysian Insider.
He also dismissed online reports of the “MCA” lawyer’s complaint as “political tactic”.
“This is a political game which is being spun by some people who want to create tension between Muslims and non-Muslims. This is political, we have not issued any orders on this,” Jamil told The Malaysian Insider.
According to the minister, only the Federal Territory Islamic Department (Jawi) has the power to issue such an order.
“Even Jawi has not issued anything on the matter,” added Jamil.
Jawi director Datuk Che Mat Che Ali said recently that no directive was issued to the mosque here to lower the volume of its loudspeakers.
The Malaysian Insider understands that the “MCA member” has now “moved away” from his own home in Pantai Hill Park, which is approximately one kilometre from the mosque.

Looks like Pekida and Perkasa trying to stir up the issue.
Since it is non issue, it should be left as that. If people like Perkasa is trying to politicise the issues, they should be arrested for assembling without valid permit.
I like what the Pantai Dalam MP has got to say, ie remain calm and find out the truth before over-reacting . JAWI should draw up proper guidelines for all mosque to follow, that is the right thing going forward.

Jawi denies involvement in ‘azan dispute’
Federal Territory Islamic Department (Jawi) director Datuk Che Mat Che Ali said today that no directive was issued for a mosque here to lower the volume of its loudspeakers after Muslims protested this afternoon over a purported complaint by an MCA member about noise levels of the azan.
“I do not know about the directive to lower the volume when reciting the azan,” Che Mat told The Malaysian Insider today.
“We also did not issue the directive.”
Earlier today, about 100 protesters gathered outside the Al-Ikhlasiah Mosque in Pantai Dalam here to urge the government to arrest a lawyer under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for allegedly pressuring the mosque to lower the volume of its loudspeakers.
The demonstrators also held posters naming the lawyer and displaying what they claimed was his home address in Pantai Hill Park condominium.
The group, from Muslim welfare organisation Pekida, also distributed copies of a fax, purportedly from the man and said to have been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office, asking for the volume of the mosque’s loudspeakers to be lowered.
In the letter dated December 20, 2010, the man said that he has been a member of MCA since 1998.
He said he has been living in Pantai Hill Park for five years and was roused in the mornings by the mosque’s call for prayers.

By the way, aren't effigies 'haram' in Islam?
What more for Muslims to bring effigies into mosque compound.
Shame on these UMNO-sponsored so-called Muslims!!

Correction! Khir Toyo did not 'return' Datukship, it was suspended by Palace - State Sec
The newly appointed state secretary of Selangor Datuk Mohd Khusrin Munawi has ‘clarified’ that the state’s royal council had last week decided to suspend the ‘Dato Seri’ title given to former Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohd Khir Toyo and it was not ‘returned’ as said by the former opposition leader. Khir Toyo had ‘announced’ that he will return the title to the Selangor palace temporarily so as to respect the Sultan.
Khusrin said “His title is suspended. It is not [he] who has returned the title. That is a misleading statement by him. His title has been suspended until his trial is over. If Khir is found guilty, he would be permanently stripped of the title. The title would, however, be returned to him if he was cleared of the charges”
Khir Toyo had earlier said that “The medal has been returned to avoid a state honorific title being tainted during the course of the trial,” but with Khusrin’s clarification, he said that “At the royal council meeting on January 11, they made the decision to suspend my title. I sent a letter to the palace last month to surrender my title temporarily. I voluntarily surrendered. That is the difference from other people. That’s why I voluntarily surrendered,”

When the Sultan of Kelantan revoked the Datoship from Ibrahim Ali it didn't mince Ali at all. In fact it even promote the 'popularity' of Ali more. From Ali's comment " less one datoship to him is nothing " and continue " if i want a few more datoship it is no problem, all i do is just filled up a few papers ".
So Toyol, don't be sad, losing a datoship is nothing, all you have to do is fill up a few papers and you will in no time be bestowed with few more datoship.
From the comments ( above ) of the president of the biggest malay NGO, it clearly shows that datoship is worthless, by just filling a few forms you will able to get few datoship. No wonder Toyol doesn't want the datoship.

Najib’s Twitter account brings in the questions, and lots of laughs
The prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak caused quite a stir in cyberspace recently when he opened up the gates and called for questions from the people through is Twitter account. Using the username #tanyanajib, he opened the account from 4.30pm to 5.30pm on Tuesday for questions but even after the time frame, the questions kept coming in.
There were all sorts of questions that surfaced with the serious ones involving the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu and on the submarines while there were quite a lot of comic relief from Malaysians who asked questions like ‘Star Trek or Star Wars’, ‘Who iron your clothes?’ and others. Najib wrote on his Twitter site earlier that “I will be considering questions on Facebook and Twitter between 4.30pm and 5.30pm. Please use #tanyanajib hashtag in tweeted qs,”
After 5.30pm, due to the good response, the time was extended by another 30 minutes. There were also questions about his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor like ‘What does it feel like sleeping next to Rosmah?’ and ‘What is in Rosmah’s hair?’. There were also questions on football, music and many others that provided quite a laugh to many.

After Khairy, debate me – Nazri challenges Anwar
Datuk Seri Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department is emulating the actions of Khairy Jamaluddin, the Umno Youth Chief to come out and defend their boss, the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak against opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who had challenged the premier to a debate on the economy and on the Pakatan Rakyat’s 100-day reform plan. Khairy had first challenged Anwar to ‘get past him’ before he can meet Najib and now Nazri too joined in the call to get past him too if Anwar wants to debate with Najib.
Nazri said “Don’t be a coward. Ask him on the Apco issue and debate with me first.” Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, the Minister of Information, Communication and Culture too hit out at Anwar saying that “Challenging a prime minister to a debate is an old gimmick to get publicity. I don’t think the prime minister will fall for the trick. Anwar, in his desperate situation, will grab any opportunity to try to disprove anything the prime minister says or discredit whatever he does,”

Najib dismisses Anwar’s challenge to debate
The prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has turned down the challenge put forward by opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to a debate on the economy and its policies saying that there was no point doing so. Anwar threw the challenge after Najib claimed that the 100-day reform plan proposed by the Pakatan Rakyat was ‘unrealistic’ and was too good to be true. The call was made by Anwar to try and justify the plans and to clarify how they will be able to finance the proposals if the Pakatan takes over the federal government.
Before Najib dismissed the challenge, Khairy Jamaluddin, the Umno youth chief and Datuk Seri Nazri Abd Aziz, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department had both called on Anwar to debate them first before thinking of meeting Najib. He said “If we want to debate, there must be an outcome from the debate. I do not see one and what is important is public opinion. Both PR and BN could present their respective economic policies for the public to make an assessment.”

Simply put,Najib is just CHICKEN.....no guts (or balls) to have this debate. Unlike America, debate is to let the PUBLIC to decide who is more realistic.

Umno ticked off about Khalid’s accusations
The Selangor Umno has chastised MP for Shah Alam, Khalid Abdul Samad, for accusing Umno of erecting banners critical of the Sultan of Selangor in the opposition’s name in the state capital.
Its information chief, Abdul Shukor Idrus said Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) would not have resorted to unethical acts against the opposition.
“The opposition will continue to blame Umno for negative incidents on while they are the angels and always upright.
“When Umno hands over cash aid, the opposition labels them as bribes. On the other hand, if they fork out money to the people, they are zakat (tithes),” he told Bernama here today.
Khalid Samad today claimed that a banner insulting the Sultan and bearing the logos of PAS, the DAP and PKR, which was found in Section 9 here, was a ploy by Umno to pit the opposition against the palace.
On Khalid’s challenge to BN assemblymen to attend the emergency state assembly sitting to amend the State Constitution on January 24, he said it was a ploy to give more power to the mentri besar on the appointment of top civil servants and not to restore the power of the Sultan as claimed.
Meanwhile, the Keadilan Youth movement today lodged a police report here on the installation of the banners.

Banners detrimental to the relationships between palace and PR leaders have been put up before in Johor. So now it is happening in Selangor. It is logical to believe that UMNO is behind this ploy to pit the sultans against PR. Is it that UMNO's fear of PR has reached to that level of desperation where it has to resort to bringing in the sultans into politics to fight for them?
sure, we believe that UMNO would not resort to unethical acts against the opposition. A party corrupt and rotten to the core, what do you want us to believe?
BN can take back Kedah, says Dr M
Barisan Nasional (BN) will be able to wrest back Kedah if there is no infighting among the leaders, especially in Umno, says former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“But the problem is, when someone is moving up, another person who is not, will try to bring him down. Then when it’s the latter’s turn to move up, yet another will try to do the same.”
He cautioned that BN would not be able to win the general election in Kedah if the leaders did not do away with the culture of “cantas mencantas” (toppling one another).
The former premier was speaking to reporters after officiating at the Giatmara Silver Jubilee (1986-2011) celebration at Giatmara Prima Kubang Pasu, here, today.
He was asked about BN’s chances of regaining Kedah following the appointment of Datuk Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah as the state Umno liaison chief and Jerlun Member of Parliament Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir as the deputy chief.
Asked whether he had a hand in his son’s appointment to the post, Dr Mahathir said he was not involved at all with the decision-making process.
He said he has never interfered with Mukhriz’s political career from the start and any decision involving the latter was made by the prime minister and other top Umno leaders.
“Even when I was prime minister, I forbade my sons from being involved in politics as people would talk, and now that I am no longer prime minister, I have also not interfered,” he added.

Can you believe anything this man says?

Najib says no point to debate with Anwar
Datuk Seri Najib Razak dismissed today a challenge by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to an open debate on economic policies, pointing out that voters did not need such an exercise to decide if they wanted Barisan Nasional (BN) or Pakatan Rakyat (PR) in Putrajaya.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made the challenge after the prime minister scoffed at PR’s 100-day programme by describing it as “too good to be true” and claiming that the country would go bankrupt if the initiatives were implemented.
But Anwar hit back and said that if his coalition took over the federal government it would be able to fund the reforms by stamping out corruption.
Najib did not refuse outright the challenge to debate but questioned the point of such an exercise.
“If we want to debate, there must be an outcome from the debate.
“I do not see one and what is important is public opinion,” he told reporters after attending a luncheon with the national football team at Seri Perdana here.
He said both PR and BN could present their respective economic policies for the public to make an assessment.
The federal opposition coalition had promised in its convention last month that it would offer teachers an additional RM500 allowance per month, eliminate toll charges on highways and maintain subsidies on fuel.
Yesterday, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin also challenged Anwar to hold a debate with him instead of the prime minister, claiming that the opposition leader “is not up to Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s level.”
“I will not stop him,” Najib added.
Yesterday, PR leaders made a rigorous defence of their 100-days reforms.
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had touted his administration as proof that PR’s 100-day promises would not bankrupt government coffers.
He said that since PR took over Penang in 2008, it had executed various welfare programmes but still achieved record budget surpluses.
Anwar also defended the plan by stating that it would only cost RM19 billion and that would come from stamping out corruption.
Lim echoed this sentiment by claiming that Penang had hit a record RM88 million surplus in 2008 and RM77 million in 2009 through “the dividends of anti-corruption” measures.

A nation leader should take the challenges and explain it in the debate to ensure that this government is functioning properly. I indeed fell that there is need to debate as in developed nation to inform people what changes have taken place and how is the government able to overcome challenges and what would be the challenges in the future. Why is that BN never able to take challenges in debates meaning that they are incompetent people running the country.

I failed to develop Kg Baru – Dr M
Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad claims that Kampung Baru was too costly to remain in the hands of the Malay community and that was the reason why he was not able to develop the area when he was the prime minister. He admitted that due to the high price there, the development cost were affected and hence the Malays could not afford the property. He said “The price demanded by land owners was too high and would have also made the cost of development very high. Malays would not be able to purchase shoplots or housing. Maybe only non-Malays would be able to afford it,”
He also said that “If the property that is developed is sold to non-Malays, then Kampung Baru as a Malay area would disappear from Kuala Lumpur. Therefore, to ensure Kampung Baru residents “would not be expelled,” developers would be required to pay high prices for the land and also allocate space for them to run their businesses and live in. But this will only increase the development cost. Malay developers may not be interested. Non-Malays may not be keen because the purchasing power of Malays is very low. Up to now, many residential and business space allocated to Malays are not taken up. In the middle of the capital that is full with modern and luxurious skyscrapers, there is a village of Malay squatters in wooden houses with rusted zinc roofs,”

Mamak,
You failed in everything, you ruined the country during your 22 years in power.
You succeeded in using billions of the people's money to build 2 stupid buildings which you claimed to be proud of until today.
You screwed up the government coffers and you and your family members had amassed hundreds of millions of corrupted money which you had stashed in various bank accounts which was also recently leaked out by wikileaks.
What have you got to say ????
Bernama photographer handcuffed and detained, threatened by police, without knowing any reason
Hairul Nizam Bahrin, a photographer with national news agency Bernama was detained without any specific reasons by the policemen and was allegedly threatened that he would be thrown out of the new bus terminal building’s third floor. He said that he was riding on his motorcycle home from duty at 11.45am when he was stopped by some plainclothes men claimed to be the police. He was then taken to the new Integrated Bus Terminal in Bandar Tasik Selatan in handcuffs and his head covered all along not knowing what was the reason.
He lodged his report at the Jalan Tun Razak police station where he said "A motorcyclist came close to me and told me to stop. He was not dressed in a police uniform. Several seconds later, several other motorcyclists approached me and asked me to stop, but they too were not in uniform so I ignored them. One of the motorcyclists took my keys, so I took his in retaliation. Then they started yelling at me, telling to remove my helmet and hand over my identity card but I refused. This continued until an auxiliary police sergeant came and started pushing me. When I told him he had no right to touch me, he punched me on the lip. I yelled, saying that they cannot do this to me as I am not a thief. I also called my office to inform them that I had been assaulted and handcuffed, but the sergeant snatched the phone away.”
At the terminal, his handcuffs were removed and he was told to ‘negotiate’ with another officer. "He got angry when I asked if the area that I had photographed is a restricted area, and if there was a letter from the Home Ministry to say so. That's when he threatened to throw me off the third floor. They never told me why they detained me,"

If Pakatan cannot fulfill promises in Kedah, how are they going to fulfill 100-day plan? Dr Chua
Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, the president of MCA has echoed what was said by the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who claimed that the 100-day reform proposal put forward by the opposition front PR (Pakatan Rakyat) as one which is irresponsible and unrealistic. Dr Chua said that if Pakatan cannot even honour and deliver its promises in Kedah, it would be impossible for them to delivery their 100-day reform promises for the people if they are elected to the federal government.
He said “PR had yet to fulfil its pledge to give civil servants in Kedah interest-free loans and crèches, as well as improve the garbage disposal system since seizing the state from Barisan Nasional (BN) in 2008. Kedahans also saw water tariff hikes of 25 per cent despite a guarantee from PR that rates would not be increased. Is Pakatan capable of reform or carrying out what they promised? During the 2008 election they made a lot of promises, and if you look at election manifesto... most of it has not been delivered. During [Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s] time, when he announced bonus to government servants, a lot of Pakatan Rakyat... were saying it should be tied to productivity,”

Pakatan reforms to cost only RM19 billion, says Anwar
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim challenged Datuk Seri Najib Razak today to a debate, after the prime minister said yesterday that the Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) 100 day programme would bankrupt the country.
The opposition leader told a press conference here that PR’s agenda unveiled at the coalition's second convention last month would only cost RM19.2 billion, lower than RM51 billion, which Anwar (picture) claimed was “stolen from the national economy to keep the cronies afloat.”
“I am suggesting a public debate with the government so these figures could be presented to the public, so the people may decide based on the figures and not lies,” said Anwar.
“It is a bit presumptuous for the prime minister to claim that Pakatan’s 100-day reform programme will bankrupt the country since it is Umno BN-led government that had borrowed excessively each year,” he added.
Yesterday, Najib described the promises as populist and irresponsible. He also claimed that the policy ignored the country’s financial limitations.
Among the reforms promised by the PR coalition, within the first 100 days of taking over Putrajaya, is to increase the incentives for teachers by RM500 a month.
PR also promised to repeal of the Internal Security Act (ISA), abolishing the toll system by instructing Khazanah Berhad, Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and other government bodies to take over highway assets from the concessionaires, as well as offering free wireless Internet access to those in urban and semi-urban areas.
Elaborating the cost of PR’s promises, Anwar said the special allowances for teachers and education officers would only cost the country RM3.2 billion annually, while maintaining the fuel and LPG subsidy would cost RM8 billion per year.
On the proposal to take over the toll system, Anwar said it would cost an additional RM8 billion to acquire the minority shareholders.
“The restructuring of the toll system under PLUS is expected to cost RM23 billion, based on the current offer made by Khazanah and EPF. The additional cost to acquire minority shareholders is approximately RM8 billion,” said Anwar.
“The additional cost required to fund Pakatan’s 100-day programme is only RM19.2 billion, an amount equivalent to the existing corporate subsidies fed to IPPs each year. This is a pittance compared to the RM51 billion stolen from our national economy to keep the cronies afloat and fat,” he added.
Anwar also called the Najib administration irresponsible for borrowing excessively, even when the national debt has breached 50 per cent of the GDP.
“Malaysia government’s debt for 2009 rose to RM362.39 billion or 53.7 per cent of GDP. The level of national debt in fact worsened under the stewardship of the current prime minister. The government undertook 19 bond programmes with a combined value of RM58.1 billion in 2010,” said Anwar.
He pointed out that Bank Negara had also announced that the government would launch 29 additional bond programmes in 2011, which he said would involve RM83 billion of new debts to be undertaken by the federal government.
“Therefore, the prime minister’s criticism of Pakatan’s 100-day reform programme should be viewed in this perspective. Malaysia is en route to bankruptcy at the rate that it is raising debt to fund Umno/BN’s addiction to wasteful spending and corruption that is endemic to the crony capitalism structure that it props,” said Anwar.

Good! Blow it up and see if the BN have anymore stupid remarks. The real issue is BN need to feed their cronies and Pakatan budget do not have anything for them. That's why they again manipulate the facts. How to bankrupt the country with 19b if BN gov can spends 67b on ETP and never say anything.

Islam teaches Muslims to fight for non-Muslim rights too
Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, the president of opposition front PAS has called on the party to move towards accepting the importance of non-Muslims as Islam has always taught Muslims to accept, respect and protect the non-Muslims’ rights. He said “There must be a paradigm shift and we cannot be like Umno who purposely ignores its neighbours, MCA and MIC. They can easily forget and ignore their neighbours. This shows their illogical politics. We have to realise that non-Muslims are part of Malaysia and Islam teaches us how to govern a country with a multi-religious society,”
Speaking to some 8,000 supporters at a PAS rally in Shah Alam, he also said that “The Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalition symbolised a paradigm shift in PAS’s politics. Islam not only teaches us to respect Muslims but also non-Muslims and their places of worship. This is not a promise from PAS or PKR but from Allah. Pakatan Rakyat has been a success and we want this to be defended and strengthened. Hopefully Allah will give us victory in the general election. There will be those who question the link between religion and politics. This shows that the person is ignorant of Islam even though he is a Muslim. Allah has warned us that we must be on the right path and not follow the path of people that do not understand. There are those who want it quick and easy and win with the easy route. And there are those who are not confident of winning and believe that they weak. We must be patient and take the right route. Umno is not the government of Malaysia and I am not the government of Kelantan because this land belongs to Allah. Everything is created by Allah and every person will experience death,”

A ruling government must stress on fairness to its rakyat and not only to a certain race. It cannot count on race politics to win the hearts of its people.
UMNO has been using race politics to ruin the country for 53 years and the rakyat is saying enough is enough.
Utusan is the root of disunity in Malaysia
DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang has hit out at Umno owned Utusan Malaysia again saying that the national publication is the ‘root’ and the reason for any national disunity in the country. He also said that the newspaper, home he said is ‘racists’ is the greatest threat to the 1Malaysia concept as mooted by the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his administration. This is because Lim said that Umno had been trying to ‘poison the public through its one-sided reports and articles.
He said “Utusan Malaysia’s daily staple of lies and falsehoods to stoke communal poison and hatred, sowing distrust and national disunity, is the greatest disservice to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s 1 Malaysia slogan and nation-building. Mingguan Malaysia today is again at its anti-national worst with its daily diet of lies and falsehoods to poison the political system and undermine the nation-building process when it made the completely wild and baseless charge in insinuating in its editorial that DAP is working towards the goal of making Malaysia a republic and the abolition of the system of Malay rulers,”
He said this in response to the editorial by one Awang Selamat of Mingguan Malaysia that Malaysia will end up a republic if Selangor continues to be ruled by the Pakatan Rakyat. It said “The lesson to be learned from the Selangor crisis is that if PKR and DAP [continue to] rule, much damage will be done. What is certain is that Malaysia will be on the threshold of a republic,” To this, Lim said “Awang Selamat’s allegations were lies aimed at dividing Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and the Selangor government. There is no need for me to reiterate the DAP’s public, decades-long stand on supporting the system of constitutional monarchy in Malaysia.
What Awang Selamat had insinuated are downright lies and falsehoods scraping the very bottom of gutter journalism. In seven paragraphs of ‘Iktibar kemelut Selangor’, Awang Selamat had told more than seven lies in its multiple objective to disseminate communal hatred and ill-will, even attempting to sow discord among the Pakatan Rakyat parties of PKR, DAP and PAS in the Selangor coalition government. Under Najib’s premiership and presidency of Umno, Utusan Malaysia has fully transformed from a newspaper into a “liespaper”, diametrically opposed to Najib’s objective of promoting an all-inclusive 1Malaysia media.
If Najib and Umno leaders, as well as the leaders of the other Barisan Nasional component parties, whether MCA, Gerakan, MIC or the Sarawak and Sabah component parties, continue to close their eyes to the daily dosage of lies and falsehoods to carry out its nefarious objective of pumping communal poison, Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region or socio-economic grouping, are entitled to know what credibility could Najib’s 1 Malaysia slogan command be it at home or abroad,”

No cover up on rape allegations as I was never aware – Badawi
The former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that he was ‘never aware’ that there were allegations against Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim for raping his Indonesian maid and denied that there has been any sort of cover up when he was the prime minister over the allegations. Rumours have been going around accusing Rais for ‘raping’ his Indonesian maid which he has since denied. Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the prime minister also casted doubts on the allegations where he questioned why it took 4 years for the allegations to surface.
Rais had said after his name was mentioned that “I deny every allegation made, whether it involves raping any individual four years ago or other accusations published by wild writers on the Internet or any political party. For the sake of justice and humanity, those who practise dirty politics whether through Internet or other media should stop speculating, defaming or to engage in unethical acts,” Meanwhile, Abdullah said “I’m not aware of that. I don’t think there was anything. Rais had already issued a statement denying the claims. It was now up to the authorities to take action against those responsible for leveling the accusations against Rais, if they were found to be untrue.”

Perkasa holds ‘Woodstock’-like Perhimpunan Wira Negara Revolusi for Mat Rempits, rockers and skaters
Malay rights group Perkasa is trying to reach out the ‘youth’ in society where they are targeting the Mat Rempits, the rockers and skaters, a group which they claim ‘no one is interested in’. Arman Azha Abu Hanifah, the chief of Wira Perkasa, the youth wing of Perkasa was at the event launched by the NGO, Perhimpunan Wira Negara Revolusi which involved loud motorcycles, guitars and rock music and lots of graffiti around.
He said “Political parties don’t want to be involved with these youth. They think they are problematic. So give them to us and we will help them. Before this Wira Perkasa was all about our policy and political stand. For 2011, we are reaching out to youth and building relationships and seeing how we can help all the different interest groups,”
Perkasa had wanted this event to be like ‘Woodstock’ minus the negative elements but most attendees of the event were unaware of who the organizers were.

Another desperate move by PERKOSA,it is not the matter of how Perkosa can help them ,but it is how these freedom life youths will be used as tools to anti PR and anti non malays, these Fcuking PERKOSA is a unreliable NGO and it's planning something BIG against PR and especially the non-malays.
I wouldn't trust a shit of PERKOSA,they're full of hatred, extremely racist and the real instigator of racial conflict.
This is a very dangerous situation for the country. As we know Ibrahim ali won the GE12 with PAS ticket, and in GE 13 he will definitely fail to secure the seat as the same as many other AMNO and BN leaders.
THEY ARE PLANNING SOMETHING BIG HERE.....IN ANYWAYS THEY WILL FAIL WITH THEIR PLANS.......THE HISTORY WONT BE ALLOWED TO REPEAT..
