Najib: Kamalanathan will get funds if he wins

Datuk Seri Najib Razak assured the people of Hulu Selangor today that sufficient fund will be channelled to the area through P. Kamalanathan if the Barisan Nasional’s (BN) candidate wins the by-election on Sunday.

“I will make sure that sufficient allocation is given to this area,” he said during the presentation of checks to former Felda settlers and handing over of aid to mosques and surau in Hulu Selangor at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Buaya here.

Najib said he believed that the MIC information chief would be a good people’s representative.

He said Kamalanathan would also make a people-friendly assemblyman owing to his ability to communicate in Malay, Tamil and English.

Kamalanathan, who was present at the event, is up against Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s Datuk Zaid Ibrahim in the by-election.

Funds, funds, funds........

This is what the BN-UMNO admin is good at...using federal funds to win over whatever they want to win.

Funds which are channelled to the federal government from the states especially the more advanced states like Selangor and Penang and Federal Territory of KL, but which themselves do not get enough funding in return from the federal government for their activities and development works.

That's the reason why Selangor and Penang face difficulties in funding their projects.

Change all that unfair practices by removing BN-UMNO from Putrajaya by replacing them with PR. Vote BN-UMNO out come the next GE. Start with Hulu Selangor.

Why always want to wait for the win then only to do something special. How about the whole Perak now since the robbed of. Was there any big money pouring in over there. Come on, the people are not fool to wait anymore longer.

Of course after the Kamal win, Bn will only reward him. Let say Bn gave him 50 million for development, but only 100,000 will be use for development. the rest is only to enrich so call BN cronies. Taxpayer money is only to enrich BN cronies. Poor indians is again taken for another ride by MIC begger.

Nik Aziz defends Zaid, calls Umno’s attacks childish

Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat made a last ditch attempt to salvage Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) Hulu Selangor campaign tonight, slamming the attacks on Datuk Zaid Ibrahim’s drinking past as “childish”.

The Pakatan Rakyat candidate is facing a blistering campaign from rivals Umno over his “un-Islamic” drinking past but Nik Aziz (picture), who Islamic credentials are well-respected, chose to back the former law minister ahead of Sunday’s polls.

“Itu kerja bodoh (it is a stupid thing to do),” said the charismatic Kelantan Mentri Besar to a packed press conference here.

“He is a candidate of a party so you attack the party and not the candidate. It is childish,” blasted Nik Aziz

The ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) federal government is said to be leading the race for the parliamentary seat due to several factors including the effective smear campaign used by Umno.

In recent days, Umno and BN have stepped up their campaign with even Datuk Seri Najib Razak hitting the hustings.

On the stump, the prime minister and Umno president has made uncharacteristically aggressive attacks against PR, by calling Zaid a “Cabinet reject” and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim a two-faced politician.

Umno’s aggressive attacks on Zaid’s character by dredging up his past drinking habit and ownership of race horses have also caused PR to go on the defensive.

DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang had also admitted that PR was trailing its rivals and have sounded the alarm in a desperate attempt to scrape a much needed victory.

Umno leaders had also dug the brittle relation Zaid had with PAS in the past when the former had sued the Terengganu government over attempt to enact the hudud law. Terengganu was under PAS at the time.

PR hopes to capitalise on the holy image of Nik Aziz to cast away doubts over Zaid’s Islamic credentials in the final stretch of the 8-day long campaigning trail.

Aware of BN’s attempt to drive a wedge between PR over the drinking issue, Nik Aziz, just like his fellow PR leaders, moved quickly to contain the damage by reassuring PAS’ support for Zaid and PKR.

“We have no problems being with PR. The Chinese and Malays all support me,” he said after explaining that all man are created equal in Islam.

“There is no racism in Islam,” he added.

Zaid, who was present at the press conference, said he had always look up to the PAS leader and express appreciation for his support.

“He called me almost twice a day everyday when he was in Mecca. He told me to be patient, patient, patient,” said the former Umno man.

Both BN and PR have less than 48 hours to campaign for the crucial by-election.

It is generally agreed that the outcome is a verdict, either support for the Najib administration or a continuous and expanding influence for PR.

Dr M defends son’s stake in brewing alcohol controversy

With Datuk Zaid Ibrahim’s drinking past a brewing issue in the Hulu Selangor campaign, his nemesis Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad quickly moved to defend his son’s directorship in a beer brewery.

Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders have also been quick to defend their Hulu Selangor candidate, pointing out that Dr Mahathir’s eldest son Mirzan sits on the board of San Miguel Corp, a Philipines-based conglomerate that owns 51 per cent of the San Miguel beer brewery.

“We know about the present lies being spread. Supposedly my son is a director in a beer company. That is not true,” the former prime minister said in a surprise visit to the Barisan Nasional campaign here.

He explained that his eldest son, Mirzan, had merely been invited to the board for his ability to aid with the company’s bid to diversify its business from its primary beer brewery.

“Not true. The company wants to change its business. I was told they want to sell their alcohol division to someone else,” Dr Mahathir said.

He noted that if this was not true, he would tell his son not to remain in the board.

In a press conference later, Dr Mahathir continued to say that Mirzan had been chosen due to his ability to help the company diversify.

“In any case, he is not even a politician. I do not check on all my children... they do what it is that they want to do,” he said.

He pointed out that his son’s involvement in the beer business was dubious but Zaid’s drinking past was not.

“My son’s story is not true but that story about Zaid’s drinking before... that one is true... but it was ‘before’ or so he says,” he said.

The issue of drinking has been the hot topic used recently by parties on both sides of the political divide during the campaign period for the coming by-election this Sunday.

In the first attack, Zaid was accused of being an alcoholic, gambler and even a womaniser and criticised as an “un-Islamic” person.

The accusations levelled against the former Umno man were used in hopes of swaying the Malay support away from Zaid and for BN candidate P. Kamalanathan in this Sunday’s polling.

Zaid’s camp in the meantime, has accused Umno ministers of being no different, claiming that they too loved their alcohol.

PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali had even said that all past prime ministers in Malaysia had consumed alcohol except for Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Dr Mahathir scoffed at the claims but did not dispel its truth and said that “maybe” it was true but it was “in the past”.

“Last time, we all wanted to be like the white man. That’s why we say about our former leaders drinking.

“I am not saying that I drank but then of course people will make all kinds of allegations. If they do not have anything of substance other than that to win the support of the people, then they can raise whatever they like,” he added.

When questioned if he felt that by drinking, a leader would lose his ability to lead the nation, the veteran politician said: “It is for the people to judge whether a Prime Minister can lead the nation or not. In my time, I led for 22 years.”

Yes, you lead the whole nation to the drain, its a matter of time before we send our maids to Singapore, Thailand, India and Taiwan!!. You'll be remembered as a leader who practised and nurtured corruption in this land. Even the land of your forefather is very much better and going to lead Asia after Japan and China!!

Amazing that in the same event, he can "justify" the attack on Zaid, and "defend" himself of the very same issue!

Either the Old Man is senile, or he thinks the public is stupid! It's OK to claim that Zaid is unfit to represent Hulu Selangor because he drinks, but it is not OK for Mahathir to be questioned that he drinks because it is a "tak apa" issue and insignificant? Huh?

ha ha ha....bastard and donkey umno tara otak....That's right. Mirzan only takes the halal portion of the profit, while leaving the haram portion to the infidels. It's all kosher this way.

Perak frogs freed

the bastard frog......Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi

Perak assemblymen Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu, the two protagonists in the fall of the Pakatan Rakyat government last year, have been freed of their corruption charges.

They, along with three others who were charged with corruption involving an RM180mil housing development project in Seri Iskandar near Ipoh, had their charges dropped in a Sessions Court in Ipoh this afternoon.

Judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh delivered the highly-anticipated decision in open court and declared that the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie case against the five accused.

“As such, all five are acquitted and discharged without their defences called,” he said.

After a six month-long gruelling trial, the judgement was delivered in a short one-minute to a courtroom packed with supporters and friends of the five accused.

Cheers were heard in court at the announcement of their dismissal.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Deputy Public Prosecutor Shahrullah Khan said the prosecution would be filing an appeal to the High Court soon.

In an immediate reaction, Jamaluddin told reporters that the decision was as he had expected.

“I anticipated the results. I am thankful for it,” he told reporters.

Mohd Osman said that the first thing that he would do was to put all his concentration on serving his constituents in Changkat Jering.

“I have been so busy the past six months... moving up and down to the court room,” he said.

Defence counsel Surjan Singh who is representing PKR politician Usaili Alias in the case, also agreed that the decision had not been a surprise.

“This was obviously a case of fix-up and not a corruption case per se, as I have already submitted in court.

“We have proven it. Like I said in my submissions, I pointed out that even the land supposedly shown to (MACC agent provocateur) Mohammad Imran (Abdullah) was never earmarked for the Perak Tengah district council for the said project,” he told The Malaysian Insider when contacted.

The five accused were charged with allegedly soliciting for bribes between RM1,400 and RM100,000 in exchange for helping him develop a 36ha piece of land for the RM180mil housing project in Seri Iskandar in 2008.

The five, including Jamaluddin, Mohd Osman, Usaili, former Perak Tengah district councillor Zul Hassan and businessman Fairul Azrim Ismail, were slapped with 16 charges of corruption in 2008.

Of the five, Zul and Fairul were also slapped with charges of sex bribes when they allegedly accepted the sexual services of Chinese nationals.

A sixth person, former Perak Development Corporation technician Ruslan Sahat, was also charged with the group but passed away in late 2008 and all charges against him were dropped.

Both Jamaluddin and Mohd Osman, along with another former PR comrade Hee Yit Foong of the DAP, were blamed for the fall of the PR government last year after they deserted their respective parties to become Barisan Nasional-friendly Independents.

Their defection had caused the wafer-thin majority held by the PR in the state assembly to turn in favour of the Barisan Nasional, thus leading to the controversial Constitutional impasse that rocked the state for over a year. In the 59-seat assembly at present, both PR and BN control the same number of seats at 28 each.

Nothing is a surprise now-a-day. The corrupted will judge the corrupted. What happen to our country - nothing but shame, shame, shame.

Frogs freed, but the laws are put behind bars.

Where is justice? Swallowed and disposed of conveniently.

The rakyat must jump!

So thats the price they have to pay for frogging.

It was 110% EXPECTED that these 2 frogs will be acquitted! Every Perakians knew that after they jumped ship and became goons of BN. This further proofs how corrupted the powers that be are............................similar to the ways of the Mafia----extortion, betrayal, corruption, persecution, kidnapping, bigotry etc. etc.......

By the way, what has the frog Hee done that she deserved to be awarded Datukship? For betraying the folks of Jelapang? She don't even dare to come to Jelapang nowadays.

The moral of the story is that if you want to be corrupted, better join Barisan Nasional! They will condone your action, nay, even eke you on, LOL.

Mohamed Khir Toyo forgave Zakaria Mat Deros, the Klang assemblyman (UMNO) in Selangor , for building an illegal istana, while he himself built a RM24 million (at least) one which is even bigger than the one owned by Zakaria. Khir Toyo claimed that as a dentist before becoming mentri besar, he could afford to build the house. How many teeth did he extract? Well, all we need to see is his income tax returns. But has the government does that? No! It's corruption that makes Barisan Nasional stay alive.

Sivakumar says frogs freed under BN ‘package deal’

Ousted Perak Speaker V. Sivakumar denounced today's acquittals of two former Pakatan Rakyat (PR) colleagues as part of a “package deal” offered by the Barisan Nasional (BN) to wrest the state government last year.

“I am not surprised by the court decision. I expected it. Do you think that after all they had done to grab power, they would let them go?” he told The Malaysian Insider when contacted.

In today's highly-anticipated case, Behrang assemblyman Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Changkat Jering assemblyman Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu were acquitted and discharged from their corruption charges after a six month-long trial.

Ipoh Sessions Court Judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh said that the prosection from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had failed to prove a prima facie case to convict all five of the accused in the case.

He said that the acquittal, as well as the Datukship award conferred to Jelapang assemblyman Hee Yit Foong, was a part of a whole “package deal” given to the three protagonists in the fall of the Perak government last year.

“They (the two frogs) were promised they would be acquitted of the charges already. It was all set up from the beginning when they put us in trouble by resigning.

“If these fellows were convicted, they would put Perak in a total mess,” said Sivakumar.

Besides Jamaluddin and Mohd Osman, PKR politician Usaili Alias, former Perak Tengah district councillor Zul Hassan and businessman Fairul Azrim Ismail, were also jointly charged for corruption.

They were accused of soliciting for bribes from MACC agent provocateur Mohammad Imran Abdullah in exchange for helping the latter obtain a RM180mil housing project on a 36ha piece of land in Seri Iskandar, just outside of Ipoh.

“It was all a part of one game. They used the May 7 assembly sitting, the Oct 28 assembly sitting and everything. So you can already foresee the outcome of today's court decision,” Sivakumar continued.

He pointed out that if Jamaluddin and Mohd Osman were charged, their seats of Behrang and Changkat Jering would automatically be declared vacant.

“Then the mess begins because what happens then?” he said.

If by-elections are called for the seats, the Pakatan Rakyat may likely wrest the Perak government back from the Barisan Nasional.

“That is why we still maintain that it was all just a plan from before,” he said.

The plan, he said, was for Jamaluddin, Mohd Osman and Hee to desert the PR and become BN-friendly independents in order to trigger the fall of the PR government.

“Now we can see their plans unfolding one by one. It is all surfacing. However, we cannot do anything about it now. We will just continue our struggles and wait for the next general election,” he said.

DAP wants government to explain RM8b armoured vehicle buy

The DAP’s economic strategist, Tony Pua (picture), said the Defence Ministry should explain why the government was willing to spend a whopping RM8 billion to acquire 257 armoured-wheeled vehicles.

The Petaling Jaya Utara MP questioned why each vehicle was priced at a “ridiculous” RM31.1 million.

“The transaction first defies belief due to the price the Ministry of Defence will be paying to DRM Hicom's wholly-owned subsidiary Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd (Deftech).

“The latest version of the Piranha III 8x8 armoured vehicles costs 364 million euros (RM1.6 billion) or an average of 1.03 million euros or only RM4.41 million each.

“In 2009, the US army awarded a US$2.2 billion contract to General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada, one of the best military vehicle and equipment manufacturers in the world, for 724 light-armoured vehicles (LAV) or the equivalent of US$3.04 million or only RM9.9 million each, meant for Saudi Arabia,” he told reporters during a press conference in Parliament today.

He said Deftech had admitted that the company was only at the stage of developing a prototype.

Pua also asked why the ministry was able to spend RM8 billion when the Finance Ministry has issued a circular to reduce government expenditure.

“The Ministry of Finance has issued strict Treasury circulars for all ministries to reduce their operational expenditure by as much as 20 per cent which has resulted in no food on weekends in boarding schools, restricted the use of classrooms due to the need to conserve electricity, but the Defence Ministry commits to a purchase that completely mocks the attempt by the government to be thrifty.

“What is worse, it makes a complete mockery of the government’s excuse to implement new tax schemes such as the Goods and Services Tax (GST) which will only raise RM1.3 billion when the government splurges an astronomical RM8 billion just to purchase armoured-wheeled vehicles,” he said.

Pua stressed that the government must review and cancel the RM8 billion contract.

“What we see here is continuing abuse and mismanagement by the Ministry of Defence which has been plagued by repeated scandals and failures over the past years such as the RM6.75 billion purchase of naval patrol boats from crony company PSC-Naval Dockyard, the RM3.4 billion purchase of two submarines with a RM500 million commission and, more recently, a laughable RM2.7 million purchase of ladies leather shoes for female civil servants,” he said.

Anwar to be referred to Rights and Privileges Comm, Opposition MPs walk out

The Parliament today approved the motion that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the opposition leader be referred to the Rights and Privileges Committee for misleading the house over his claims that the 1Malaysia concept, as mooted by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was linked with a campaign once run by Israel named One-Israel.

The motion was approved without reply from Datuk Seri Nazri Abd Aziz, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department at 3.05pm some 30 minutes after objections and interjections from the opposition who claimed that the motion was defective. The Opposition MPs then walked out of the House before the voice vote was called. Anwar then told reporters that “The opposition had no choice but to walk out because the motion was defective. If we stood back and voted, we would have legitimised it," Anwar had earlier told in Parliament that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had no principles for being ‘subservient’ to the United States. He said that even if he has a good relationship with the US, he still made his stand on the Palestine and Afghanistan issues, very much the same as former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. He said “I have never denied my relationship with America, but even if I am friends with America, I will always put my foot down on Afghanistan. Although I do not agree on many issues with him, but Tun Mahathir always stood firm with his stand on Afghanistan and Palestine which cannot be questioned. I agree with Tun Mahathir but look at what Najib is doing? Look at Iran,”

He added that “Najib is kneeling in front of Obama. Never before in our history have we witnessed this. Our policy on Iran is so defeatist. If it’s true that APCO has no influence, how can our foreign policies change so fast? We are seen as weak, subservient,”

Najib has no principles

Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim accused Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today of being subservient to the US, and linked this to the influence of public relations consultants, APCO Worldwide.

He told Parliament that while he was friendly with Americans, he shared with his nemesis, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, an indisputable stand on Palestine and Afghanistan.

Anwar also accused Najib of “kneeling” before Barack Obama during his recent meeting with the US president.

“I have never denied my relationship with America, but even if I am friends with America, I will always put my foot down on Afghanistan. Although I do not agree on many issues with him, but Tun Mahathir always stood firm with his stand on Afghanistan and Palestine which cannot be questioned.

“[On this issue] I agree with Tun Mahathir but look at what Najib is doing? Look at Iran,” he said during the Parliamentary debate to refer him to the Rights and Privileges Committee over his accusation that Najib’s 1 Malaysia was linked to Tel Aviv’s One Israel campaign.

The Dewan Rakyat was debating on whether to refer the opposition leader to the Rights and Privileges Committee under Standing Orders 18 (2) over his claim that the Najib’s 1 Malaysia concept was linked to former Israeli prime minister, Ehud Barak’s One Israel campaign

Anwar said that APCO’s influence in Najib’s administration could be seen in the country’s policy on Iran.

“Najib is kneeling in front of Obama. Never before in our history have we witnessed this. Our policy on Iran is so defeatist.

“If it’s true that APCO has no influence, how can our foreign policies change so fast? We are seen as weak, subservient,” said Anwar, who was the third Pakatan Rakyat (PR) MP to debate the motion.

Umno MPs then rose and demanded Anwar retract his statement that Najib was “kneeling in front of Obama.”

Lawmakers began shouting and pointing at each other before the Speaker for all to be seated.

“Anwar has withdrawn his statement but you were all too loud to hear it. That is why we need to keep calm here,” said Deputy Speaker Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

Anwar had also questioned why APCO’s contract was witnessed only by the prime minister’s press secretary.

“Where were the ministers? How come no one else witnessed the signing?” he asked.

The former deputy prime minister declared that the PM has not been able to challenge his allegations.

He went further to claim that in the agreement, APCO was given access to documents classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

“I want the Home Ministry to say that Israeli intelligence did not come to this country, I want the police to deny this,” he said.

Anwar then disclosed that he had relevant documents proving APCO’s involvement, but BN continues to deny their existence.

“You can punish me, but you cannot escape from the facts. PAC has previously raised its concerns about APCO,” he said.

Last night, Najib denied that Malaysia had “kneeled” to another nation and insisted that he had met with Obama “as equals”.

Najib, during his second visit to the Hulu Selangor Parliamentary constituency, also slammed the opposition for being “spin experts” when they accused him of kowtowing to the US.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz is scheduled to wind up the debate after the lunch break.

Umno not responsible for withdrawal of independent candidates – Wanita chief

Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, the Wanita Umno chief has denied claims that the BN (Barisan Nasional) is responsible for the withdrawal of the 2 independent candidates at the by-election of Hulu Selangor. V S Chandran, the former deputy chairman of the Hulu Selangor MIC division and Johan Md Diah, a committee member of the Shah Alam Umno Youth had earlier joined the race to contest but both pulled out on Monday. Shahrizat said "Umno will not do such a thing.

This is a free country (anyone can contest). In fact, that day I was surprised there were four candidates (for the by-election). The Wanita BN by-election machinery would intensify campaigning for BN candidate P.Kamalanathan, who is facing former minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim from Parti Keadilan Rakyat this Sunday. Wanita PKR has also emulated Wanita Umno's courteous way of campaigning,"

Muslim NGOs urged authorities to ban Blair from entering Malaysia

Following Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s call for the authorities to arrest war criminal, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair when he steps into Malaysia, a Muslim NGO coalition backed Mahathir’s suggestion and urged authorities to bar Blair from entering our country.

Initially, Blair was invited as a guest speaker to give a talk to Malaysian businessmen. The seminar is scheduled to be held at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre on April 23. However, 26 Islamic groups come together and urged for action against Blair for he was a ‘war criminal’ attributed to the war in Iraq.

Meanwhile, event organizer Success Resources International stressed that Blair will still enter Malaysia despite the opposition by Mahathir and Muslim NGOs. He is scheduled to give 90-minute talk regarding leadership issues to over 3,000 participants in the seminar.

The organizer’s chief executive officer Richard Tan said Blair is entitled to deliver his speech since he is not hurting anyone or breaking the rule or law.

TO THESE TYPE OF MENTALITY AND ACTIONS WE MALAYSIANS DO NOT RESPECT LEAST SUPPORT.

GO AND BURN YOUR IDIOCY BRAINS IN HELL!

A SHAME FOR ANY MALAYSIAN TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH MENTALITY.

Shocking!!!

Remember during Budget 2008 announcement last yr, our Finance Minister cum PM) announced that in order to assist KWSP members to reduce the burden in housing load repayment, KWSP will allow monthly withdrawal from members' A/C II for the purpose?
Sounds like a nice goodies!

When you apply for the monthly withdrawal, you only need to provide KWSP yr housing loan & installment details from yr bank and the bank a/c # you like KWSP to bank the monthly withdrawal into it. KWSP will approve yr application based on the available amt in yr A/C II and compute the withdrawal period by dividing the approved amt with the monthly installment amt.

Application process takes about a month and you will receive the monthly payout promptly into yr bank a/c!

Well everything appear to be nice and good. It was indeed a noble plan until you take to close look at yr KWSP Statement!

This is how the so-called KWSP SCAM works.......

Assuming you have RM100,000 in yr A/C II and yr housing loan's monthly installment is RM2000/mth.. .
KWSP will approve yr application of withdrawal from yr A/C II of RM100,000 and pay you Rm2000/mth for the next 50mths.

Everything appears to be in order BUT.......
What KWSP didn't highlight to you is that when the application was approved, the TOTAL AMT (RM100,000) is removed from A/C II! It appears to be transferred to an unknown a/c to effect the monthly payment from therein.

The impact to the member are as follows :-
1. You just lost RM100,000 from yr A/C II. Assuming the KWSP Dividend is 5%, you will lose RM4,000 in dividend during the 1st year. Based on the above example you will lose RM10,000 over the 50 mths period!

2. There is no statement to account for the amt approved vs... amt paid, hence you would need to keep the monthly payment voucher to reconcile against the approved amt over the 50mths period to ensure there is no missing amt!

Assuming there are 100,000 members who innocently fell prey to this SCAM, based on the above example, KWSP would have cheated the members of 100,000 X RM10,000 = RM1,000,000, 000 (that's RM1 BILLION) over the period!

Furthermore, if you discovered this SCAM early and intend to stop the plan, KWSP would not allow any cancellation of the plan until at least 1 year. That would mean, once the application is approved, based on the above example, you would have lost RM4,000.

100,000 members would have lost 100,000 X RM4,000 = RM400,000,000( RM400 MILLION) in One Year!!!

If you're a victim of this KWSP SCAM, would suggest you call yr MP to raise it up in Parliament!

For others who have not fallen into this SCAM, pls continue to watch out and alert yr family & friends about this.

HOW COULD THE GOVERNMENT ALLOW ITS AGENCY TASKED WITH SAFEGUARIDNG ITS CITIZEN'S HARD EARNED MONEY TO CHEAT ITS MEMBERS IN THIS MANNER???

Bill to increase traffic fines from RM300 to RM1,000 withdrawn

The Road Transport (Amendment) Bill which proposes compounds for traffic summonses to be increased from RM300 to RM1,000, will be withdrawn.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abd Aziz confirmed that the bill, which had been tabled for first reading in Dewan Rakyat on Monday and scheduled to be debated in a day or two, will be withdrawn.

"The bill will be re-tabled in the Parliament meeting in June," he said, adding that he would have to explain to the Cabinet about the withdrawal of the bill, which has a total of 51 amendments.

Two other proposals - increasing the minimum age to apply for a motorcycle licence from 16 to 17 years and for only the Director-General of Road Transport to assign a number plate, will also be dropped.

He said the backbenchers had written to him, saying that the three proposed amendments were "not people-friendly."

Nazri also said the RM1,000 proposed fine was deemed too harsh for the lower income group and the increase in mininum age of driving licence for motorcycle might affect students in rural areas, where motorcycle is their mode of transport to attend school.

The proposed amendment on car number plate to be assigned only by Road Transport may not be able to solve problems of forged number plate as well, he said.

Asked whether the u-turn on the bill was related to Hulu Selangor by-election, Nazri said it was not in his mind at all when he made the decision.

Backbenchers club deputy chairman Datuk Bung Moktar Radin said the MPs spent two days with Road Transport Department, Transport Ministry and other agencies to discuss about the proposed amendment.

He said discussions with them would continue in order to have a people-friendly bill.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng also questioned the Government's move to increase the traffic offence fine from the present RM300 to RM1,000.

The Bagan MP added the authorities should have concentrated more on enforcement and education for motorists instead of imposing higher fines.

"This bill was hastily passed without proper discussion in Parliament.

"It should be withdrawn and brought to a select parliament committee for further discussion.

"The authorities should have looked into the problem of lack of enforcement instead of increasing the fines.

"Many people have complained to me that the fines are excessive and the amount is more than they can afford," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby.

Zaid is a ‘Rejected Product’ – Mustapa

Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, the Minister of International Trade and Industry, who is also the Umno Chief of Kelantan has given Datuk Zaid Ibrahim the label ‘Rejected Product’ and one who had failed to fulfill his responsibility as the Member of Parliament of Kota Baharu. Zaid will be representing the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) in the upcoming by-election of Hulu Selangor. Mustapa said "When he was the MP (member of parliament) for Kota Baharu he failed the Barisan Nasional by not fulfilling his responsibility as an elected representative. We feel that he is not suitable to lead a constituency at all based on his work rate.

Zaid's claim that he would champion the people's problems and solve issues did not hold water because when he had the opportunity to do this, he had failed.” He added that "We feel that he is not capable of championing the issues brought up by the people of Selangor. He does not have credibility nor the capability to solve issues faced by the rakyat. This is because he does not understand problems faced by the kampung folks what more those estates and rural areas. We, on the other hand, have put forth a candidate who had integrity and morals to be a member of parliament. Kamalanathan, the BN candidate, was almost a local, hailing from Rawang, which was just a stone throw away from Hulu Selangor and understood the people's problems since he was from the grassroots. Zaid failed in Kelantan. There have been many complaints about him during his tenure as an MP. He is a rejected product while our man is the best product for the people of Hulu Selangor,"

Kit Siang blames BN for Malaysia’s ‘lebih-kurang’ malaise

Four decades of Barisan Nasional (BN) “lebih kurang” rule has caused Malaysia to decline to a “lebih kurang” government, said Opposition Leader Lim Kit Siang.

Lim (picture) told Parliament today during the debate of the Competition Commission Bill that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak remarked at Tokyo yesterday that Malaysia is no longer a high-achieving nation.

“In Bahasa Malaysia, we have “lebih kurang” or more or less; we should be less lebih kurang but more precise,” Lim quoted Najib as saying.

Lim added that Najib had correctly diagnosed the “lebih kurang” disease afflicting Malaysia that has turned Malaysia from one of the most advanced Asian nations since 1957 to a middle-income nation now falling behind Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong and Japan, and is at risk at trailing even countries like Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.

“It is this “lebih kurang” malaise which is the reason for institutions like the judiciary and the civil service losing public confidence,” Lim added.

“Maybe only cure is to vote out the Barisan Nasional government in the next general election so that the country can earnestly start on the process,” said Lim.

Lim cited several symptoms of this “lebih kurang disease”, such as the decrease of Malaysia’s international competitiveness, slipping to 24th placing in the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Global Competitiveness Report, compared to the 21st spot last year.

He added that the large brain drain of some two million talented Malaysians leaving Malaysia since the implementation of the New Economic Policy in 1970 was because “they are not convinced that they have a future in this country of mediocrity and “lebih kurang”.”

The “lebih kurang” disease has also caused the civil service to lose public confidence and is the reason behind the collapse of highways and stadium roofs, as well as sub-standard construction in hospitals,’’ according to Lim.

The Opposition Leader said that this “lebih kurang” mentality that has turned Malaysia into a “sick man” in the region must be eliminated if the Competition Commission Bill is to make Malaysia a focused and high-achieving nation.

No cover for whistleblowers who go public

Potential whistleblowers will not be protected under the Whistleblowers Protection Act if they divulge information to the media, a deputy minister said today.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk VK Liew told Parliament the government would not be compelled to protect those who revealed information openly through the media.

“The people who expose secrets to the media, can they receive protection? My answer is that they will not be protected because it is not in accordance with subsection rules 7 (1) which states that an informant will be protected when his or her testimony is received by an enforcement agency.

“The definition of enforcement agency does not include the media.

“It’s also irresponsible for them to go to the media, because it can affect any on-going investigation,” said Liew.

The matter became an issue when it was challenged by Batu Gajah MP, Fong Koh Puan, who claimed that there were no specific provisions in the bill which prevented informants from talking to the media.

“If you read section two of the bill, a whistleblower is someone who gives information to an agency. There is nothing to say or suggest that it must be done in secret, that they cannot tell the media,” she said in Parliament.

Liew maintained that any investigations based on whistleblowers’ information should be done on an internal level, and stated that there was no need for a special agency to be established.

“This will include additional costs and we would also have to look at aspects such as logistics and human resource; what we have is already sufficient,” Liew said.

This matter also became a point of contention as Pakatan Rakyat lawmakers spoke out on the need to have a separate agency to carry out investigations on whistleblowers.

Fong questioned the transparency of any such an investigation, as there would be no safeguards against whistleblowers’ testimonies being possibly tampered with.

“I think they should have individual independent body to conduct [such an] investigation. The definition of an enforcement agency is more of an internal thing, how can you convince people it will be transparent?

“Let’s say you are from the Tourism department [and] you want to complain about the immigration department, these departments have connecting channels. How sure are you that the whistleblower’s testimony is safe?” Fong said to The Malaysian Insider, recounting the point that she had raised earlier in Parliament.

The opposition has long called for a law to protect whistleblowers and informants, especially given the widespread allegations of corruption within government agencies.

The Bill included protection for whistleblowers who disclose improper conduct in any public or private bodies to any enforcement agency, though what may be revealed is governed by existing laws.

It also provided for whistleblowers to lodge complaints on the improper conduct of MPs and state lawmakers.

Under Clause 6 (2) (b) of the Bill, it was stated that whistleblowers can reveal any improper conduct even prior to the commencement of the law.

Clause 7 (1) of the Bill provided that whistleblowers revealing any improper conduct by any enforcement agency would have their confidential information protected, immunity from civil and criminal prosecution, and protection against detrimental action.

In the private sector, whistleblowers would be protected from their employers upon lodging their complaints, as provided under Clause 10 (5) of the Bill.

The Bill was conceived during the administration of Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who had vowed to make the fight against graft the hallmark of his government

The Bill was subsequently passed without any changes by the Dewan Rakyat after the debate.

The problem is can you really trust the law enforcement agencies???

The BN government is always like that. When they pass a law in Parliament they always ensure that there is a loop hole for them to protect their members.

The answer by the deputy VK LIew only confirmed that the government is not sincere in transparency and is not serious in combating crimes and corruption or anything at all. Just like the NEM .On one hand they say about fairness and opportunity for all and the next instance the Malays have special rights and privileges.
And then there is the wistleblower protection but one will not be protected if one blows it in other places but only if in the government's secret room. One could be terminated if its not good for the government?
What a bunch of jokers we have as our ministers. Its time for a change - vote them out. Wake up my Malay brothers and sisters. Together we advance and prosper.

Muslim NGOs lodged police report against article that has insulted Malay rulers

A Muslim non-governmental organization (NGO) filed in a police report over an article entitled “Cabaran Gerakan Pembaharuan” (Challenges Confronting Reform Movement) published by Malaysiakini on April 4.

Negeri Sembilan Sofa Foundation deputy president Yusri Mohamad lodged a police report at Dang Wangi police district headquarters against former Perlis mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin for writing the article that allegedly insulted Malay rulers.

Besides Negeri Sembilan Sofa Foundation, other NGOs were also present when lodging the police report namely Pertubuhan Kebajikan al-Jamiatul Khairiah, Klang Islamic College Alumni Association (ALKIS), Madrasah Islamiyah Malaysia Union (ITMAM), Pertubuhan Muafakat Sejahtera Masyarakat Malaysia (Muafakat), Integrated Muslim Associations of Selangor (IMAN) and Sinar Damsyik Association (Persidam).

Police reports were also found in other states against Malaysiakini and Asri.

Unlike Samy Vellu, I am not afraid of Umno – Zaid

Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) candidate standing in the by-election of Hulu Selangor, who has been under attack for his drinking and gambling from the BN (Barisan Nasional) since campaigning started has come out to say that he is not afraid and that he is more interested in addressing the real issues of the constituency instead of trying to clarify about his past all the time as it is the tactic launched by the BN.

He said that he is not afraid of Umno and the Umno-controlled media and urged the voters there to give him a chance to voice their grievances in Parliament after the unfulfilled promises made by the BN candidates.

We have given 52 years to UMNO/BN to rule the country until now and the country is now stifled with racial remarks and this has come from UMNO people directly calling the Indians, Chinese and other non-malay races as 'Pendatangs' and telling us to go back to the countries where our ancestors came from.
The UMNO/BN people especially MIC, MCA had done nothing to secure our places here to be label as Malaysians, do we have to give these running dogs another day to hold our balls ????

Dont you think that it is worth a try to give PKR a change to bring our country to a correct path ????
Think for the future of your children dear voters !!!!

A potentially explosive scandal in Malaysia over the billion-dollar purchase of French submarines, a deal engineered by then-defence minister Najib Razak, has broken out of the domestic arena with the filing of a request to investigate bribery and kickbacks from the deal in a Paris court.

Although the case has been contained for eight years in the cozy confines of Malaysia's courts and parliament, which are dominated by the ruling BN, French lawyers William Bourdon, Renaud Semerdjian and Joseph Breham put an end to that when they filed it with Parisian prosecutors on behalf of the Malaysian human rights organisation Suaram, which supports good-government causes.

Judges in the Paris Prosecution Office have been probing a wide range of corruption charges involving similar submarine sales and the possibility of bribery and kickbacks to top officials in France, Pakistan and other countries.

BN can win by 3,000 majority – Ibrahim Ali

Datuk Ibrahim Ali, the independent Member of Parliament of Pasir Mas has lend his support for the BN (Barisan Nasional) saying that the ruling coalition should have no problem winning the by-election of Hulu Selangor with 3,000 majority based on the voters’ sentiments on the ground. He is certain of victory for P Kamalanathan, the BN candidate because initial reports showed that the voters of the constituency is favourable of the reform policies put out by the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said “What do you think? I say, the Barisan Nasional will win by approximately 3,000 votes. Besides the introduction of the New Economic Model, the economy has started to recover, plus PKR is facing internal strife. I am confident that the BN candidate’s vote count will increase to around a 3,000 majority. About 95 per cent of the votes gained by Datuk G.Palanivel who contested for the fifth time two years ago will stay with the BN. The BN will move from that point and gain even more votes. BN can achieve the projected majority if the candidate gets 65 per cent of the Indian votes, 55 per cent of the Malay votes and 45 per cent of the Chinese votes.”

Yes yes Ibrahim Ali, make more statements now, PKR needs you open your mouth more. Crucial for PKR to win. Now can you also bring Khir Toyo, Ahmad Ismail the gay and Samy Velu, the people of H S'ngor will definitely listen. Haha this is getting even better.

The Najib arse-licker also the candidate Kamal said winning margin 3000vote, the Ugly p*g Ibrahim Ali said the same...this was the prediction by other BN leaders.
3000 a very familiar figure...is this the number of phantom voters UMNO is preparing to plant into the confused areas of transfered voters created by EC. Watch for these Phantom voters won't be transported by buses!!

Chandran pulls out as independent, backs BN

V S Chandran, the former deputy chief of the Hulu Selangor MIC division who is contesting in the by-election as an independent has withdrew from contesting at the by-election. This came in light after it was reported that Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu, the president of MIC confirmed that Chandran will be sacked from the party on Monday. Samy said that a letter will be sent to Chandran where he is found to have breached the rules and principles of the party after deciding to contest at the by-election as an independent. Chandran said that he is a supporter of the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razka and hence “I will campaign for BN. Kamalanathan is a different matter. Who is Kamalanathan?” Denying that he received money for withdrawing he claimed that he decided not to contest after a long discussion with some close friends. He said that he is “happy that MIC suspended (him) and that he had a chance to be nominated".

Samy had earlier said "Technically speaking, Chandran is still an MIC member and he shouldn't stand as an independent candidate in the by-election. This is a serious offence. I have the prerogative to sack those who work against party principles and ethics," Chandran is suspended for a year by the party after having spoken out against deputy president Datuk G Palanivel last year. He had earlier confirmed that he will contest at the by-election where he would have been up against Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) candidate, P Kamalanathan, the candidate from BN (Barisan Nasional) and Johan Mohd Diah, a member of the Shah Alam Umno Youth Committee who is also contesting using an independent ticket but has since withdrew his candidacy.

Straight fight as Johan quits race

The last independent candidate in the Hulu Selangor by-election, Johan Mohd Diah quits the race, leaving the floor wide open for PKR and BN to duel it out

In a dramatic turn of events, Johan Mohd Diah, the second independent candidate in the Hulu Selangor by-election, has withdrawn from the contest

Ironically, just two hours before he withdrew from the race at about 7.30pm, Johan had just completed an hour-long interview to the media in Felda Sungai Tengi here, expounding on his strong will to serve the people.

He had even gone as far as to thank V. S. Chandran who was the other independent candidate in the race for withdrawing his candidacy.

“I thank him very much. At least now, it gives me a bigger opportunity in the contest because the votes will only be divided three ways instead of four,” he had said.

He had also claimed he had never been approached with offers to pull out of the race, and would not accept such offers even if they were made.

Before that, Johan who is a Shah Alam Umno committee member and is currently facing a sacking from the party, had also launched his operation centre at house number 338, Desa Maju, Sungai Tengi, and his “cangkul” (hoe) campaign symbol, which he said represented the farmers.

He also launched his blog site, http://talianjohanrakyat.blogspot.com/, and said that his main campaign method was through the typical walkabouts, buntings, and through the internet via social networking sites like Facebook and My Space.

“After today, I will embark on a more aggressive campaign style to plead for votes from Hulu Selangor constituents,” he said.

At 9.30pm tonight however, Johan personally turned up at the Election Commission operation centre in Kuala Kubu Bharu about an hour away, and filed his withdrawal paper with the agency.

The deadline for candidates to withdraw is by 12 midnight tonight.

EC deputy director Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar confirmed this with The Malaysian Insider at about 10pm.

“Yes, he submitted his paper at about 9.30pm. He has pulled out of the race and it is now a straight fight,” he said when contacted.

Johan’s withdrawal means that now, the contest will be solely between PKR’s Datuk Zaid Ibrahim and the Barisan Nasional’s P. Kamalanathan.

In his press conference earlier, Johan pleaded with the people of Hulu Selangor to vote for him, claiming that he was not a member of the “executive” or “corporate” group of people but was just a common man on the ground.

“I can better represent the views of the people here, especially the second generation of Felda settlers here. Unlike the other candidates, I am not from the executive group of people... I represent the larger community, which is the common man,” he said.

He pointed out that he used to work as a taxi driver, a factory van driver, and even an airport limousine driver for more than seven years of his life.

“I am now a businessman in the trading business,” he said. Johan added that of all the candidates, he was the one and only truly “local boy”.

“I was born here. My voting district is at Felda Soeharto. I studied in SJK Sungai Tengi and SMK Soeharto. People here know me well and support me... in fact they do not know me as Johan... they call me Apin,” he said.

Johan said that he was keen to focus on developing human capital from the Hulu Selangor constituency especially from the pull of second generation Felda settlers and the youths.

“This is why my main targets for support are the over 20,000 youths here, the 6,700 second generation settlers and of course, those who do not support the other candidates,” he said.

He added that he would also focus on drawing support from PAS and PKR members who were against the candidacy of PKR’s Datuk Zaid Ibrahim in the race.

“I will seek out their support,” he said.

Despite offering himself up as a candidate, Johan insisted that he still believed in the Barisan Nasional’s goals, principles and achievements.

“They have ruled us for over 50 years. I am very grateful to them and I still support them. However, I feel they have failed in the area of developing human capital in the constituency of Hulu Selangor,” he claimed.

Johan, a father of three children, added that he wanted to clear the stigma of Felda settlements being haunts for drug addicts.

“I want to clean that perception, that chop that the Felda people are addicts,” he said.

Throughout the press conference, Johan gave no indication of his intention to quit from the race.

After his withdrawal was made known tonight, Johan could not be reached on his mobile phone.

Muhyiddin calls Anwar a ‘spin king’

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the deputy prime minister has called opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, a ‘spin king’ because he likes to twist issues when it comes to matters that involved the government and its leaders from the BN (Barisan Nasional). In campaigning in the Hulu Selangor by-election, Muhyiddin said that Anwar being a great orator has managed to ‘lie to the people without them realizing’.

He said "Now, he (Anwar) says we (BN) are a cruel regime, but when he was the deputy prime minister, he asked the people to support the BN. If his claims were true, the country would be in a bad shape. If someone says the BN government is cruel, it is a big lie. Politics was not "games" like what the Opposition was thinking but a serious matter concerning the wellbeing of the people. They have evil intentions. They like to twist issues, Everything is not right to them, but the truth is that they are the real problem. We do not make wild allegations. Their heart is full of hatred," Apart from Anwar, Muhyiddin also hit out at Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, the Mentri Besar of Selangor saying that “He said did not fulfill promises made to the people despite two years in power. Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has reached a critical stage because now it has become Parti Kian Runtuh (collapsing party). Tomorrow there will another major announcement in Hulu Selangor. Today more PKR leaders quit the party. Wait for the "bigger bomb" tomorrow,"

No Dr Pornthip at Teoh inquest tomorrow

The much-awaited expert opinion by Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand on the second post-mortem on Teoh Beng Hock will be further delayed as the Selangor government did not receive any response from her today.

A state government official said: “Last week we wrote a letter to the Justice Ministry of Thailand for them to facilitate Dr Pornthip (picture) to attend the inquest but until this evening there was no response from the ministry.”

However, Dr Pornthip had unofficially indicated to the state counsel that she could attend, provided there was approval from the ministry where she was currently attached with, he said.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) head of prosecution Datuk Abdul Razak Musa, when contacted, confirmed that so far there was no indication from Dr Pornthip or Thai officials.

“As far we are concerned, the coroner is scheduled to hear Teoh’s brother Meng Kee’s ex-parte application to cite Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz tomorrow for contempt of court,” he said.

Last Friday, Meng Kee filed a notice at the Shah Alam magistrate’s court to cite Nazri for contempt of court for allegedly branding Dr Pornthip as a “liar” after she refused to attend the inquest tomorrow, claiming that she was under pressure from her own government and the Malaysian authorities.

Coroner Azmil Muntapha Abas had fixed tomorrow for Dr Pornthip to give her expert opinion on the second post-mortem on Teoh’s remains which was carried out by Dr Shahidan Md Noor at the Sungai Buloh Hospital on Nov 22 last year.

Azmil had also fixed April 26 and 27 for British pathologist Dr Peter Vanesis, who was hired by MACC, to give his expert opinion.

Teoh was found dead at Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam, where the MACC state headquarters was located, on July 17 after being called for questioning by MACC officers over alleged irregular disbursement of state funds

Mahathir urged authorities to arrest Blair when he makes his appearance in Malaysia

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad urged the authorities in the country to arrest the ‘war criminal’ former British Prime Minister Tony Blair when he makes his appearance at a business congress in Kuala Lumpur.

Mahathir was disgusted that organizers paid one million dollars to invite Blair to the congress to address businessmen. Besides, he was also shocked that organizers praised Blair as 'one of the most respected and admired world leaders in the last 50 years.'

Singapore-based seminar organizer Success Resources International paid heft sum of money to invite Blair to speak and give a talk to businessmen in a National Young Achievers Congress, which will be held at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre next Friday.

He stressed that Malaysia can still arrest Blair based on the Penal Code even though our country has not ratified the 1998 Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. Authorities should take action against Blair based on reports from Iraqi survivors mainly for war crimes.

Blair lied to the Parliament and British people in order to go to war and remove Saddam Hussein. The war in Iraq killed 500,000 Iraqi children, another 300,000 Iraqi men, women and children. Hence, Mahathir was disgusted to discover that people are actually learning things from Blair through the congress.

On another note, Perdana Global Peace Organisation (PGPO) also expressed their disappointment to learn that organizers had invited a ‘war criminal’ to give a talk to Malaysians. PGPO urged companies and sponsors to withdraw from the congress to reflect that our country is an anti-war and pro-peace society. The organization said Blair should not earn income in Malaysia.

That depends on how many years more you can survive doing the business or how many more years you think you can stay alive.

You used to bag Isreal and call them war criminals but on the quiet, give them multi million ringgit contracts. Now you want to try Blair in our courts with half baked lawyers with war crimes, even though we have not ratified the 1998 Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. Authorities.
