Home Ministry sends show-cause letter to Harakah

Just a day after it was called in to be ‘reminded’ of its roles and responsibilities of a media, the Home Ministry has issued a show-cause letter for Harakah, the PAS owned official organ. According to Taufek Yahya, the chief editor of the publication, they are required to show-cause for violating the publication permit by the Home Ministry who sent the letter on July 7. They would have to explain why they failed to provide 8 copies of each of their edition to the ministry before distribution.

Taufek said “I was shocked because the things mentioned in the letter were not raised during the July 5 meeting. We do not want issues that are detrimental to Umno and BN to be seen as affecting national security. Mainstream newspapers have also been critical to Pakatan Rakyat (PR) but these were not classified as security threat. When I raised the matter, the ministry said they did not want to have a debate. In my opinion, the home ministry is under political pressure to act. I sympathise with the home ministry officials who have to face the pressure,”

Surely the pressure comes from UMNOPUTRAS ! Even though the reprimand already served,why is there a further need ? You see,even among the Ministry , they dont have common standard approach . How can the people trust the 1Malaysia ? Waste of public money to foot their salarly !
