Khairy tells Youth wing to stop commenting on his failure to land a ministerial post

Khairy Jamaluddin, the Umno Youth chief has called on his supporters not to continuously harp on the issue that he had yet again failed to land a ministerial position in the latest cabinet reshuffle by the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. He told local news portal MKini that the members of the youth wing to instead focus on their responsibilities. He said “Thank you for trying to show support but just do your work and don't get sidetracked by this,"

Khairy added that “I hope that everyone respects the Prime Minister's vision with regards to the change in cabinet and I don't want to hear any comments from Umno Youth leaders. Of course one or two of (the state leaders) made those comments out of their own conviction, so there is nothing much I can do. It (the Youth wing) will only be demoralising if you allow it to be, by making a big deal out of it. People support us because of how much work we do, not whether or not we have a government position. I am not expecting anything, I am quite clear about what I need to do and it is not about getting a cabinet appointment,”
