Sodomy II resumes tomorrow with visit to condominium

The Sodomy II trial resumed today with the defence team representing Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim continuing its cross-examination of alleged victim Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan. The proceedings took a break from last week when Anwar failed to get a stay in proceedings. The trial began at 9.35 am with Mohd Zabidin Mohd Diah calls the trial to order. The defence lawyer Karpal Singh calls for the prosecution to provide a copy of the witness list and reported that they have failed to contact the owner of the condominium where the alleged act took place.

He said "We need assistance from the prosecution. I'm sure he (the condo owner) will be called (as a witness)."

In today’s proceedings, the members of the court were to visit the Desa Damansara condominium of the alleged sodomy act but was later postponed to tomorrow morning. According to one of the defence lawyers, Sankara Nair, "The police confirmed that the owner (of the Desa Damansara condo unit) is in Bukit Merah in Perak and can't make it today. Police will try arrangement for another visit to condo tomorrow morning,"

After that, the judge adjourned the trial today and will resume tomorrow after a visit to the condominium.
