The newly appointed state secretary of Selangor Datuk Mohd Khusrin Munawi has ‘clarified’ that the state’s royal council had last week decided to suspend the ‘Dato Seri’ title given to former Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohd Khir Toyo and it was not ‘returned’ as said by the former opposition leader. Khir Toyo had ‘announced’ that he will return the title to the Selangor palace temporarily so as to respect the Sultan.
Khusrin said “His title is suspended. It is not [he] who has returned the title. That is a misleading statement by him. His title has been suspended until his trial is over. If Khir is found guilty, he would be permanently stripped of the title. The title would, however, be returned to him if he was cleared of the charges”
Khir Toyo had earlier said that “The medal has been returned to avoid a state honorific title being tainted during the course of the trial,” but with Khusrin’s clarification, he said that “At the royal council meeting on January 11, they made the decision to suspend my title. I sent a letter to the palace last month to surrender my title temporarily. I voluntarily surrendered. That is the difference from other people. That’s why I voluntarily surrendered,”

When the Sultan of Kelantan revoked the Datoship from Ibrahim Ali it didn't mince Ali at all. In fact it even promote the 'popularity' of Ali more. From Ali's comment " less one datoship to him is nothing " and continue " if i want a few more datoship it is no problem, all i do is just filled up a few papers ".
So Toyol, don't be sad, losing a datoship is nothing, all you have to do is fill up a few papers and you will in no time be bestowed with few more datoship.
From the comments ( above ) of the president of the biggest malay NGO, it clearly shows that datoship is worthless, by just filling a few forms you will able to get few datoship. No wonder Toyol doesn't want the datoship.
