Pakatan Rakyat-led states should dissolve their legislative assemblies to demonstrate their mistrust for the country’s electoral system, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal said today.
The Umno vice president called it unseemly for the opposition parties to hold on to the administrations they gained on the back of the election system whose regulators, the Election Commission, they are now attacking as biased and unfair.
The July 9 rally by polls watchdog Bersih 2.0 calling for free and fair elections has received the support of PR parties, with PAS aiming to galvanise all one million of its member to participate.
The first rally in November 2007 saw up to 50,000 people take to the capital’s street before they were dispersed by police armed with tear gas and water cannons.
It was also partly credited for the PR’s record gains in Election 2008, when the opposition pact swept to power in five states and won 82 parliamentary seats.

Is this Shafie guy a moron? Pakatan gained in the last election despite unfair election. All we are asking for is free, fair and clean election.
If you are brave Shafie you should advice your own President and Party to dissolve Parliament and seek a new mandate as all of you are illeagle and PM does not have his own mandate he was put in office by only UMNO and not the people. So come face the people and don't hide behind the police and the EC.
