Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, the former deputy president hopeful of the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) who announced that he is quitting the party following his withdrawal from the party election confirmed that he will be quitting the party. This came in the light of reports in various media that the party has yet to receive his resignation letter and that he will only confirm if he really will quit on Friday.
Zaid wrote on his blog that “I refer to today's headline by The Star newspaper. It is true that I will be quitting the party but I have yet to submit my formal resignation from the party. All will be clarified via a press release this Friday, 19th November, 2010.” According to Saifuddin Nasution, the secretary-general of PKR, “We have not received any letter from Zaid so far informing us of his intention to quit the party. It would not come as a big surprise to us. No, no, not at all,”

The latest today is that Zaid has resigned and also there is accusation from PKR that Zaid had registered a new party even before he entered the deputy presidency race in PKR. This Zaid is not to be trusted and I hope his party would not be invited to join the Pakatan Rakyat otherwise he can be a trojan horse for Pakatan rakyat as well. For all we know Zaid may well be a trojan horse planted by umno into PKR. After all, he had been in umno for 20 over years and suddenly being sacked and looking at his behaviour and demeanour, he is a man not to be trusted.
Elections are like war and criticising one's party when elections are near is stupidity and not democracy. I do not think Zaid is as stupid as that. He knows what he is doing and I am quite sure he is out to destroy the Opposition party. By forming a third party through Zaid, Umno hopes to win the next general elections as Zaid's party will put up candidates in all the constituencies and as such siphon off votes from the opposition.
