Yayasan luncheon cost around RM300k and not RM800k as alleged

Share
Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, the Mentri Besar of Selangor has denied that some RM800,000 will be spent in the upcoming 40th anniversary luncheon event of the Yayasan Selangor. He said that instead, the cost is only estimated at around RM300,000. The Sultan of Selangor was supposed to have attended the luncheon but decided not to due to its high cost. Datuk Noh Omar, the deputy chairman of Selangor Umno commented on the exorbitant cost of the event.

Khalid said “The figure that was given to me was RM300,000. Let him (Noh Omar) come out and explain (the RM800,000 figure). In the last four years, the accounts of Yayasan Selangor were not audited,” Meanwhile, Shuhaimi Shafiei, the assemblyman of Sri Muda confirmed the figure reported by Khalid saying that “Ninety per cent has already been given to the contractor... about RM280,000 has been paid in two advances to one event management company. Twenty-five to 30 per cent as deposit is normal, but not until it is 80 or 90 per cent,”

Whether RM300k or RM800K, the damage has been done. Selangor PR should be careful with the appointment of officials as these official might be trojan horse to tarnish PR reputation. If no one find out they will pocket the money. If someone expose, mission accomplished.
Wonder why Selangor UMNO chief didn't question Toyol million RM trip to Europe and all the over spending in the AG report????
Selangor MCA secretary Wong also the same, why didn't see you question the above two matters???
