Umno assemblyman Abdul Shukor Idrus has been suspended from the Selangor state assembly for a day after defying Speaker Teng Chang Khim this morning.
Earlier the Kuang assemblyman had demanded an explanation from Teng as to why his motion to debate illegal sand mining was rejected.
But state Umno state information chief raised Teng’s ire by citing the wrong Standing Order when putting forward his question.
However, Abdul Shukor insisted on an explanation and refused to sit down.
