Samy Vellu ‘retaliates’ against Mugilan

The president of MIC Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu has ‘retaliated’ against V Mugilan, the deputy chief of the party’s youth wing for demanding that he resign from his presidential post immediately instead of waiting for the next 8 to 9 months. Mugilan will be referred to the disciplinary committee of the party for having worked against the MIC and BN (Barisan Nasional) during campaigning in the by-election of Hulu Selangor.

Samy Vellu said "Mugilan was one of those people who had worked against the BN in the by-election because he failed in his attempt to be fielded as a candidate. The party had actually wanted to take action against Mugilan after the Hulu Selangor by-election but deferred it. He acted as a stooge for "certain people", and had prevented Palanivel from re-contesting the parliamentary seat in the April 25 by-election. will continue to ensure the MIC is free from people who are bent on destroying it. We do not want people who are mere stooges of other people,"
