7 days to solve MCA crisis - DPM

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the Deputy prime minister believe that the MCA crisis can be solved in a week’s time. At least that is the time frame he is giving himself where he is to mediate the problems within the fractions of the troubled party. Muhyiddin said “A formula would be drawn up during that period to reach a consensus among the disputing party leaders.

A series of meetings had been held with several party leaders to discuss the crisis in greater detail.” Muhyiddin was given the mandate by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to be the mediator in the growing problems within the MCA. This came about after Najib announced that he will be stepping in to help MCA find a middle ground between Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, its president and Datuk Seri Dr Liow Tiong Lai, the vice president. Muhyiddin added that "The task is not easy because it involves the interest of the party as well as that of the nation."
