PKR said today it will not bow to the demands of “Datuk T” who has called for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to take a lie detector test to see if he is the man in a sex video that surfaced in March.
Deputy president Azmin Ali dismissed the proposal, saying the Datuk T trio should instead be tried in the syariah court under qazaf for accusation of fornication without witnesses.
“This is not an issue of who is lying or not. It is about following syariah laws because the accusation falls under qazaf.
“We will not bow to this uncalled for demand. We want Datuk T to be tried under qazaf and we want it done according to syariah principles,” he told The Malaysian Insider.
The 21-minute video, showing a man resembling the former deputy prime minister having sex with a woman with Far Eastern features, was first aired to reporters at the prestigious Carcosa Seri Negara hotel here last month by a man who identified himself as Datuk T.
A few days after the viewing, it was revealed that Datuk T was a moniker that collectively referred to businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, former Malacca Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and Perkasa treasurer-general Datuk Shuib Lazim.
PKR filed a qazaf report with the Religious Department (Jawi) against the Datuk T trio for their role in the emergence of the 21-minute video shortly after their identities were revealed.
Shazryl said yesterday that he was willing to take a polygraph test to prove that Opposition Leader Anwar is the man in the video.
He said the former deputy prime minister must also undergo the test which should be screened live on national television.
Shazryl said the two conditions were to avoid any deception or conspiracy in taking the lie detector tests.
He also swore last Friday in Masjid Amru al-As in Sentul here that he was telling the truth in the sex video saga despite being obstructed by PKR supporters.

Why are the Datuk Trio not charged? They are guilty of a crime. They should not be walking around. it's a Government approved sandiwara that they are doing so what do you expect?

I would agreed to that. But let's just add another condition that the lie test be conducted by someone reputable outside and agreed between both parties. Local professionals/forensics cannot be trusted anymore after TBH case.
